Trouble exporting to DVDSP from FCP5

I'm having trouble exporting my sequence into DVDSP4. I've tried using Quicktime Conversion and Quicktime but the sequence doesn't import into DVDSP and neither do the menue templattes. When I attempt to convert to Quicktime a message pops up with "data needs to be rendered first," although the red render bar isn't there. It's just grey in the bar area. What is going on here. HELP!!!

I am having trouble exporting closed captions from premiere cc 2014. I see them in the program monitor but after i export and try to playback in either quicktime or VLC i get to embedded captions. I eve tried the side car file and embedded with compressor and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
I only used compressor because i switched from final cut to adobe. easy fellas!

I have latest QT version, do i need to go back to 7? I have tried VLC also, i usually use that to check CC in mpeg files. I am exporting a QT H.264 for just testing purposes, I need a prores HQ, also this is SD so my sequences are set to 720x486.

Im in the midst of exporting my sequence from FCP5 to quicktime via the "Quick Time Movie" option. When I do this about 30 seconds of footage is missing from the final QT that us created.
If any one can help I would really appreciate it.

In the time line make sure that you go to the end and then press o (out Point)
also if you have a clip selected that is all that will be exported. From your info thats all I got for you. LOL

Having trouble exporting to pdf from InDesign CS6

When I attempt to export to pdf from InDesign CS6, the application crashes. Apparently there is some phantom plug-in issue.
I need to get this resolved asap.

Could you also provide details about what you've tried, and what errors you encountered? Is this problem limited to a particular document, or all documents?

Having trouble exporting mpeg2 files from FCP 3 - please help me!

I haven't made a DVD for a little while, in the meantime have upgraded my operating system from 10.3 to 10.4 and am completely up to date with QT etc. I have Final Cut Pro 3, DVD Studio Pro 1.5 and Quicktime 7.3. The problem now is that when I try to export my edited video as mpeg2 from FCP, FCP immediately quits- I just can't figure it out... it leaves a file icon in the destination folder but apparently the error in the crash report means that I'm trying to write to a read only destination!?

Can you use DVDSP to do the encoding for you?
FCP3 was really not intended to be run from Tiger, in fact, I believe it will not install on a clean 10.4 disk.

Trouble exporting to DVDSP

I'm trying to export using Quicktime Conversion so as to import into DVD Studio Pro. I keep getting the message: "sequence needs to be rendered first." There isn't a render bar above the sequence. Everything appears fine. What could be the problem? When I tried it using Quicktime only, it compressed yet the file doesn't appear in DVDSP or iDVD. What's going on? HELP!!!

You'll need to make sure all appropriate render types are selected under the Sequence->Render menu, including Audio Mixdown before you do a final render. Having trouble exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5?

This background tasks looks good on paper, but it isn't working in the real world.
There are some serious problems with this feature.
Exporting to PDF just spools away on certain files.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I've tried ALL the workarounds, but it seems to me that we shouldn't have to "print to postcript."
This should be an automatic and thoughtless feature.

So far, the PDFs I've made from CS5 files have all turned out okay (knock on wood), but I'm wondering if there's a way _not_ to have the PDF export happen in the background. I'd just like to have a more positive idea of when the PDF was actually finished being exported.
It seems to me that many years ago (or maybe it was in QuarkXPress), the PDF export happened in the background, and it caused problems because it was easy to send off an incomplete PDF if one wasn't careful.
Thoughts?

Troubles Exporting SQL databases from Azure

1. If I connect via SQL Server Management Studio and choose Export Data Tier Application to local disk, it never ends

Both CS6: Trouble exporting to Premiere from After Effects?

Hello. I'd like to start off by saying that I am new to the community and new to using this software, so please pardon if I come off as ignorant. However, I need help urgently.
I am trying to export an After Effects project into Adobe Premiere (using File -> Export -> Adobe Premiere Pro Project). I am coming up with the following error message when I try to open it using Premiere:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type".
I would think that my Premiere preferences would be irrelevant as I cannot even access them unless I have a project opened. However, here are my project settings for After Effects:
Time Display Style:TimecodeUse Media Source
Color Settings:
Depth: 8 bits per channel
Working Space: none (could this potentially be the issue?)
Audio Settings:Sample Rate: 48.000 kHz
All of the video files used are .mp4.
I will be willing to rapidly provide more information if necessary. Thanks in advance for helping out.

Don't export!
Open your Premiere Pro project, go to File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Compositon. Then navigate to the aep file, select the compositon and it will import the AE link into your pronect bin. Then you can change the file in AE and when you save, the changes will show in PPro. There seems to be a bug with the dynamiclink.exe server that won't show the compositon as rendered on the timeline. I'm hoping Adobe will fix it soon as I've reported it on the bug site.

Im having trouble exporting a file from cs3 to illustrator 6 (an earlier version). Please help.

I have an EPS file that was created with CS3 on a macbook leopard operating system and was saved according to the ( Adobe) instructions to the CD in illustrator 3.
Later I tried to open the CD on a Performa 6200 CD using a macOS 8.1 with Illustrator 6.0. When I opened the CD there was a closed lock on the top left corner of the window, the EPS file icon appeared as a gray paper not looking like your typical illustrator file. I then proceeded to click on the EPS file and a window appeared with this message: "The document "---" could not be opened, because the application program that created could not be found. Could not find a translation extension with appropriate translator".
If there is anyway that you can help out please respond, I am really desperate.

It sounds like your older performa might not know to open that EPS with illustrator. Try going into Illustrator and using File>Open. If that still does not work it may be that CS3 did not save down a version that will work with Illy 6. Options for saving a legacy EPS from CS3 are Illy ver 3, 8, 9, 10; so you would need to save down to 3.

Troubles exporting to PS from LR

I'm having issues when I want to take an image out of LR and into PS. From any module I go to photo and from the drop down menu select edit in then Adobe Photoshop CS5 64 bit.
The first thing that happens is I get the UAC pop up asking to allow the software to make changes to my computer. I confirm yes and PS opens. But no image appears. Nothing happens.
So I go back to Photo, drop down to edit in, select PS CS5 64 bit, get the UAC pop up, select yes once again. Andnow get a window saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS5 could not be launched" Which is odd as PS5 is clearly opened. I click okay and another pop up
"Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at D:\HD visual\01 My Photos....etc. listing out the location of the image....for editing. It will not be opened.
And great there's another UAC pop up.
I click okay and now, finally, a full minute and bunch of pop ups later a 16 bit Tiff appears in PS and I can go to work.
This is not how I remember working with LR and PS before.
I want my .DNG file to open in Adobe camera raw instanty and if I click okay it goes straight to PS right away. What's wrong?

Have the same problem ( sometimes) : I use mac OS.X 10.6.4 LR 3,2 and PS5: 12.01 x32
PS is running .
Give the "cmd E" ( for external editing ) and LR hangs. Just "cmd_." unlocks LR.

Trouble Exporting Google Sketchup Animations from iMovie

I am having trouble with animations and imovie. I have successfully exported about 5 animations from Sketchup to imovie. Everything works fine until I try to export the imovie video. When I open my exported imovie video in quicktime or any other program, my animations are replaced by other pictures already in the movie. Basically, I am having trouble exporting Sketchup animations from imovie.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Unfortunately imovie has issues with animation (shouldn't have but does). Try converting your animations to another editable format (DV, AIC, MJPEG) before importing them into imovie.

I am having trouble exporting .raw files to an external storage device. Even though I export "original" they end up as jpeg files. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Using the "original" setting is the correct way to do it. Select on of the photos and use the File ➙ Reveal in Finder ➙ Original menu option. That will take you to the file inside the library via the Finder. Confirm that what you see if the raw file.
If it is then try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Trouble exporting to DIAdem

Hi,
I am using a 6070E DAQ card to read the output of a sensor. I am having trouble exporting the data from the labview program to DIAdem.
When my vi stops running, it displays the information on a waveform graph. I right click on the waveform graph and select "Export data to DIAdem", it opens DIAdem but randomly sets some of the values to zero, both the time and the actual readings... Sometimes it's only one or two of the data points, but sometimes (like in the picture), it completely distorts the data. I've attached the vi and also an image of how it exports to DIAdem... The chart should be showing 10 cycles of a 10 Hz sine wave.
Is there anything I can do?

I just wanted to mention as an addendum to Brad's comment that if you want to export to happen automatically, another option is to use an Invoke Node to invoke the "Export to DIAdem" method of the chart/graph - another super easy way to achieve the functionality.
Don't forget that for the greatest flexibility, consider saving your data to file (e.g. TDMS) and then loading it with DIAdem (you can do all of this programmatically, too). This will allow you to save your raw data, invoke custom post-processing, apply your own customized report templates, etc. Just one more option to consider. Let us know how we can help after Brad posts his fixed VI.

Exporting to DVD Studio PRo from FCP5 .... Can't find answer anywhere..

Sorry guys, but I have read about 2 hours worth of posts without any answers to my question that is driving me insane. My eyes are bleeding and I am tired of experimenting having to wait hours for exporting to finish just to find out it isn't good quality or not acceptable in DVDSP.
Here is my deal and hopefully someone can help me resolve my issue.
I shot in 24p HDV and edited in FCP5. Finishes project and now want to burn on DVD for friends and family =) End project is about 18 minutes long 720p
Tried using QuickTime Movie export and "current settings" and the file ended up being like 370mb, which seems REALLY small, so I am not sure how to change "current settings," since I am convinced those settings are not the best quality.
I then tried DCHDV PRO 24F in the alternate settings and I ended up with a 5.6gb file, which looked beautiful but too large for a DVD. I tried using compressor to make it smaller using m2v conversation but DVSP refuses the file. I would love to use a QuickTime Movie export that can get the file around 4gb and keep the GREAT quality and still be accepted in DVSP.
So what I really need from someone out there is:
What the best settings for exporting a 18 min HDV 24p movie from FCP5 to DVDSP losing the least amount of quality as possible?
Poor quality to me is flickering credits, poor colors etc.

I believe you have the fundamental misunderstanding of what is happening in this process.
When you create a DVD, all video material - without regard to original format - is converted to a highly compressed MPEG2 format and the audio to either an aiff or ac3 format. The video and audio files are then mixed (muxed) together into a series of VOB files. The major controllers of final quality are: original footage quality, compression bitrate and the amount of motion within frames. The overall length has an impact on bitrate as the DVD spec was designed for a 2 hr limit. HDV presents it's own problems as the 15 frame GOP format is not simply converted to the SD NTSC format.
You may want to spend time to understand how the mpeg2 compression works so you can make suitable adjustments if the result is unacceptable. It is a bit of a dark art but controllable to some extent.
The easy setups available in DVDSP are a good place to start and each parameter within the compression process is adjustable.
