Trouble finding files

I let 3 or 4 albums from Photoshop.com to transfer (by default/do nothing) to Revel.com.
Aside from that, I put an album (1308WI) with 34 photos up on Revel.com.
When logging on to Revel, I expected to see the old albums and the new one.
The newly-uploaded 1308WI photos appear (URL=https://www.adoberevel.com... (not photoshop.com))
It was said that I could see the old albums by logging on to Revel
and hitting the 3-bar icon in the upper left
and then choosing "photoshop.com library".
When I do that, the screen blinks but I get nothing
(it stays on my subsequently-uploaded 34 file album=1308WI).
I can't find the 3 or 4 Albums that should have migrated from Photoshop to Revel.
I did not opt out of the migration. Email said if I did nothing, they would transfer, so I did nothing.
I believe I always used the current account. If otherwise, is there a way to find it?
My albums were uploaded from a PC directory, apart from Ele.Organizer. If I still needed the sync, how can I find out if it was or was not sync'd?

Please start by going into a browser, logging in using the email you use for this forum, and clicking on the 3 parallel lines on the top left of the screen to get your album listing... select photoshop.com library.
Click on photos tab in the top middle of the screen.
Do you see the photos there that you are looking for? Because of the library name, I am assuming these are the ones that migrated.

Trouble finding file format plugin template or example

Using XP, Photoshop CS2, CS2 SDK, and VS .NET 2005.
I can find offered file format plugins, but they're compiled already. Can anyone point me toward a tutorial, sample or template for format plugins? Also, that chapter seems to be missing from the API guide (Photoshop API Guide.pdf that came with the SDK). It should be chapter 9, but it and chapter 6 are missing. Any idea why or where I can find the missing chapter?

Adobe likes distributing a cut-down SDK. You need to apply for the "Advanced" SDK.Searching for "Photoshop File Format Plugin" with or without "sample", "example", or "template" returns a lot of results. They're about the JPEG2000 plugin or the format of a plugin, etc.But still you can go through google for more help.

Link to network document - cannot find file

I have a report which needs to provide links to pdf files on a protected network resource. Meaning that the user of the Crystal Report does not have native access to the network resource, not even read access. Is there any way to configure the link to use something akin to a "run as admin" auth attribute, so that the general report user has access to the files via the Crystal report but not via other means?

If it works, great, if not then they wont get thier hands dirty. The WinXP driver for this model was last updated in Aug 2014. They must have supported WinXP up until then but no longer. If HP wont help you with the suggested full software solution then you may have to get by with an alternative print and scan driver. For example try downloading a Universal Print Driver from http://support.hp.com. You can pick any of the 3 options that are available (postscript, pcl5 and pcl6). I suggest starting with PostScript. That leaves you with finding a compatible scan driver and scanning application for WinXP. Hopefully the scanner object was successfully installed on your Device Manager. If so then you can use any TWAIN scanning application to continue your scanning such as MS Word, Paint or Adobe products. If the scanner did not install then you might be out of luck. WinXP can sometimes find scanner drivers via updates but MS stopped supporting WinXP in April 2014. Its unlikely you will find another compatible scan driver if you dont already have one. The scanner driver files should still be in teh Full Software Solution under one of the folders even if the installer is having trouble finding them. The only downside is that free scan software usually cannot scan directly to PDF, you will have to resort to .Tiff instead.

Finding file within directory

I'm currently using InDesign CS5.5
I have an automation script I wrote for datamerge in javascript but I've had trouble finding any references to searching for files with javascript. I'm well aware you can't in javascript for the web but there is server side scripting but can't find where any tutorials are online.
What im trying to acheive is this line here... but in javascript.

now to explain why im using this incase anyone wants this or wants to know... this will give me a list of filenames in a directory..
I then apply..

which strips everything but the name of the file without the extension.
Part of my program is.. each csv file that comes in will not have the same name so I use this to get the name and then later apply it to my datasource and for saving out the PDF.
I'd appreciate if anyone can help me acheive looking for a file within javascript or if they could send me a link to where some documentation is.
I have tried using getFiles("*.csv") but I get errors.. when I slap an alert after getting the file it shows the file with the entire path and I can't use slice because it doesn't do anything. literally it doesn't slice. This is why I was using applescript. I'm not sure if its more efficient or not to use Javascript for this or Applescript just would like to keep it all one language.
Eventually I'd like to figure out how to set up a for function or some sort of count to grab only 1 file at a time in the case that 2 files make it to the directory.
Also if anyone wants the code to do a datamerge and save out to pdf I'll gladly post.

I was wondering if and how your Split Off Filename line worked, but decided to use this RegExp instead:
name = filename.replace(/^.+\//, '');
(replacing everything before and including the final forward slash with nothing) but then I thought, wait a minute. The 'object' returned by both getFiles and by openDlg is not actually a file name -- even though JS conveniently translates it to a fully qualified path when asked --, it's a file object. And a regular File object has this useful property 'name': that's just the file name.

Having trouble opening files

Can somone help me having trouble opening files with my Ipad

I started having the exact same problem yesterday. It has happened to me a little less than 2 years ago on this same machine (which was very new at the time). I was hoping to come here and find an easier solution than I resorted to in the past. Before I had to completely reformat my computer to get it to work properly again.
For me, the first time this problem happened was when I was working on a job that is stored on our company server. The server went down while the file was open and I was kicked off and everything locked up. When I tried to get out of the file nothing happened and I had to force quit. When it got back up, I logged back onto the server and everything seemed fine until trying to open, save as or place a file. Then I see what you see, open a folder and rather than going inside the folder, I get the turn down arrow or I just see the same list of folders and cannot get into the final folder where the art resides that I wish to place (or attach in an email, etc.)
I don't know how it happened yesterday. It could have actually happened on Friday night. Our company runs 3 shifts and it may have happened on 2nd shift Friday night or on 3rd shift Sunday night / Monday morning. I discovered it yesterday afternoon.
If anyone has a better solution than reformatting, that would be GREAT! I have done the disk utility checking and fixing permissions and that didn't work the first time or today either. Thanks for any info!

Find File By Name

Just upgraded to SL and was disappointed to find the the apple-F dialog box still defaults of find file by content.
My gripe is that if you type the word "microsoft" for example, files beginning with this word appear well, and I mean WELL, down the list.
I thought that in SL we were promised a little check box that would allow us to save the default dialog to find by file name.
Any ideas?

OK, this is solved.
It turns out that apple-shift-F does in fact bring up the find by file name dialog box in leopard.
However... there is no blinking cursor to show the location of the insertion point. It therefore gives the appearance of having not worked, and of requiring a mouse action to activate the insertion point. If you start typing regardless, the text does appear at the invisible insertion point. How annoying is that: that such a lack of attention to detail in the OS has caused me trouble 20 times a day for the last many years.
The lack of a find by file name default was for me by far the most annoying feature of OS X and I if I die tomorrow I will die happy in having found a work-around.

I am having trouble establishing file association between .PDF files and Adobe Reader. When I click on a .PDF file, Adobe Reader does not open the file. I installed Adobe Reader on a Lenovo G480 laptop using Windows 8. When I attempted to open a file called I believe G480_user_guide.PDF, a file called something like Nitro_PDF opened. When I right clicked G480_user_guide.PDF and chose Open With, I found that Nitro_PDF was the default program for opening the file. I tried to change to another program but found that Adobe Reader was not listed. I chose the option for searching the computer for a file to open. I found the folder Adobe in Program Files x64 but I was not able to find an executable. Where is the Adobe Reader executable or what other method can I use for establishing file association between .PDF files and Adobe Reader.

Yes, I have now learned how to make a search with the Google search engine. I am gradually learning how to use my new Lenovo laptop computer with Windows 8. I learned yesterday that I can make a search with the Google search engine if I enter the search query in the address bar of the Google Chrome browser. I think it was the Bing search engine that gave me the sites advertising Adobe Reader download but actually provided the download of a reader other than Adobe.
In my opinion, Windows 8 is significantly different from Windows 7 and that it has hazards and pitfalls.

CS2 Unable to find file errors

We are having trouble with photoshop cs2. We can not open most files. Tiff, PSD, some PDF files will give an "unable to find file error". Jpg files, and certain PDF files and TIFF files that use jpg compression work. I have tried resetting all the settings, changing scratch disks / memory usage, uninstalling all fonts, and reinstalling the application and the problem persists.
Also i do not know if this is related but the same time we started having errors in photoshop we also have problems in Microsoft Word. The font list shows a lot of fonts as just a white box. Other apps can use the fonts fine. Just not in word.
I have attatched a JPG file with screen caps of the errors.

I reset the options by doing the hold shift alt ctrl while starting up photoshop. Also i deleted all the preference files out of the application data\adobe\photoshop folder. Same problem persists.
Also another issue i have noticed. Say you perform an action like erasing somthing, or changing the brightness/contrast. You can not see the changes until you click on a different tool. Then it updates the display.
I will try and locate the faq and see what it says.

Trouble uploading files

I use my ipod as a storage unit and I am having trouble transfering files. It wants to take hours uploading what shouldn't take that long to upload.
I transfered some small video clips to my ipod and it only took a few minutes, but uploading them takes forever and then once they are uploaded, they are corrupted.
Could it be my ipod, or possibly the firewire cable? I've tried both firewire and usb. I've tried running a disk repair on my ipod and it says it is fine.

I guess no one knows anything?
This is frustrating. I have files on there that I need for my editing techniques class project that's due tomorrow. I'm just gonna go work on my project at school I guess and finish it there so I don't have to worry about my stupid ipod not being able to transfer it over until I can find out what to do.

Trouble finding the Time Capsule HD with Windows XP

This is the first network I have hooked my computer up to and would like help in getting access to the 1 TB hard drive using Windows XP. I have looked in the Airport Utility software for how to enable access and tried finding the network using XP.
I know at work once when I had trouble finding a network drive on a new machine they fed me a run command and then that drive would appear as an option.
Anyone able to step-by-step me through how to use this fine drive?

Do you also have a wireless connection to the TC from the same computer .. turn it off.
Go back to firmware 7.5.2 as it is far more stable.
After that the issue can just be windows 7 issues with large file transfers.
Turn off ipv6 in both the TC and windows machine. It can cause issues.
Do not use explorer to transfer the file.. use an alternative.. anything is better.. !!
In the end if it keeps failing.. look up network file copy fail windows 7.. google has about 4million hits.. it is impossible for me to know which one is the problem.

          The servlet size is 7 KBs.Is this something to do with the size or stream
          being forwarded back to the browser and the server not able to handle this?Any

Firefox won't open, error message"can't find file at jar:file" etc.

"Firefox cannot find file@jar:file:///program files/Mozilla Firefox/omni jar!/browser config. properties." I tried to download firefox and refreshed the desktop link and still no go. Cannot get firefox to browse.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

Find files and establish links to help organize my computer

I was advised to post this here instead of where I initially posted it:
Like a lot of people, I have accumulated eBooks at different times and they are scattered all over several drives. I want to organize them. I am trying to remember how to make a UNIX script to do what I want. Then I can put it on a cron so that it will automate the process for me
What I want to do:
Find all .epub files
place a link to those files in file:///Users/my_name/Documents/ePub Links/
If this can't work then even to find and move all of the .epubs would work; however, I would prefer to use a link because I also want, with suitable alteration, to use the script to organize my pdf files. Some of those pdf files need to be left where they are because they are manuals; but, again, I would like a central list so I do not keep looking, online, for files I already have.

Smart Folders is the way to go, however, to find files, use "find".
To find in your Home Directory and any attached drives:
find ~ /Volumes/ -iname '*.epub'
To create a symbolic link:
find ~ /Volumes/ -iname '*.epub' -exec ln -s {} "file:///Users/my_name/Documents/ePub Links/" \;
Not sure if find will look in "file:///Users/my_name/Documents/ePub Links/" (which you don't want), but if it does, we can exclude this directory with the -prune option.

Print window in version 8.1.2 can't find file to print

Version 8.1.2, I'm trying to print a PDF from a medical website, i'm prompted to save or open the PDF file. I choose open. The applet opens up as to print, then an error message appears, unable to find file. But if I save the file to my desktop, then open it up, it prints fine. I have this version running on 4 others servers, no problems there. Anything else to look for? I've also checked the version of java on the servers, also the same version Java 2 Runtime Enviorment SE v1.4.2_06, and Runtime Enviorment 5.0 update 9? Also checked to make sure the plugins were using the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried, importing the music into iTunes again? So delete the music from iTunes only not the system, & then import to see if it finds your musics?

It sounds like iTunes seems to have lost track of all your music and you must locate each file individually. I would recommend at this point that you check for 3rd party plugins to see if there are any causing an issue:

If the issue persists after removing the plugins, I would next try recreating your iTunes library:
