Trouble getting all voice memo's to transfer to iTunes.

I have an iPhone 3, and have recently started to have trouble saving voice memos into iTunes.
I record myself practicing playing music, so the clips are usually 3 min but can be up to 10-15.  In the past I've had 25 min recordings transfer just fine, so this is a mystery.
When I plug iPhone into my laptop, it egins syncing in iTunes and some voice memoes will transfer but not all.  The ones that wont, are also split - some will play on the phone & some wont.
Any ideas?
thanks

  • Voice memos won't transfer to iTunes?

I have an iPhone 5 that I recorded three voice memos on. They are pretty long, about an hour or a little more each. I've transferred audios longer than this to this same computer before (Macbook Pro), but it won't work now. I know the Include Voice Memos box is checked. I've tried restarting the computer. I've updated iTunes. I've tried renaming the audios. I've tried unchecking and rechecking the box. Everything. Even when I go to the On This Phone part, there is a playlist with the three but there is no way to get them to iTunes.

    Hi Martha,
The default direction for uploading Voice Memos is from your iPod to iTunes. To get Voice Memos from iTunes back onto your iPod (assuming they are not already on your iPod), try the following:
    1) Open iTunes, with your iPod already attached (docked) into your computer.
    2) Select the Voice Memos in the iTunes library you want to transfer.
    3) Left-click with your mouse the selected Voice Memos and drag them into the iPod icon in the left frame of the iTunes window.
Note that the default action of uploaded Voice Memos is to have "Genre", "Artist", "Album" and other fields to be undefined and "Unknown", respectively.
So you'll have to define these fields on the iPod if you want to find your Voice Memos in a genre called "Lectures", "Voice Memos" or something similar.

  • IPhone (4) Voice Memos not Syncing to New iTunes 10.0

I'm currently on an iPhone 4 (4.0.1 firmware) and I've been experiencing issues getting my voice memos to sync to my iTunes library.
The last time this worked was August 27, 2010 which added 3 voice memos to my iTunes library successfully. Since then, I have not yet updated my firmware but have installed the new iTunes 10.0. I have 8 new voice memo recordings on my phone since the last successful sync, and I've tried syncing my phone four times today, Sept. 4, (restarting iTunes and my iPhone) with no luck. I tried recording a new voice memo to see if iTunes 10 would recognize any memos recorded after the installation but that failed as well.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I've always had the "Include Voice Memos" option selected. I think that only pertains to syncing voice memos from iTunes to the iPhone after it has been copied to iTunes. It has to be the new OS/iTunes not communicating that new memos have been recorded. For some reason they won't sync when I want them to, and then a few syncs later they magically appear.
By the way, I'm VERY comfortable with the iTunes and iPhone systems. I've been using iTunes for 5 years, and I've been recording class lectures with the iPhone voice memo app (and another app) for a couple years. It's not an error of not seeing that the memos were added; they don't exist in my library or music folders.
JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY, POST WHICH FIRMWARE YOU ARE RUNNING EXACTLY!!!

  • Transfer large voice memos after deleting them from iTunes

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to transfer large voice memos to my computer from my iPhone.
I synced my phone without changing the names of the voice memos--- so they were in iTunes in a random order and it just confused me. I deleted them in iTunes and renamed them in my voice memos..... now I can't download them with the correct name! I can't find how to get them back off the iPhone into my iTunes or even to my desktop to burn onto a CD. ???????
I cannot email them or message them because they are large files. I've tried to email them and it states that an email has been sent (there was an email sent sound) but nothing ever shows up in my email account.
All I want to do is put my newly titled voice memos into a folder on my desktop.
PLEASE help! I wish this was easier to do!

    i feel your pain
    this is so infuriating
it's great little app, and so easy to record audio on the fly.
BUT then absolutely impossible to easily transfer them to my desktop.
    infuriating

  • How do you transfer voice memos on iphone 3G to iTunes?

I have voice memos on my iphone 3G that are very important. I want to sync them to iTunes. Problem is, when I go to the tab that says "music" and try to push "include voice memos" it is greyed out. This is because I manually manage the music in my iTunes. When I push the "sync music" icon, it has a message saying that "all existing content from iphone will be removed and replaced with songs in iTunes." Is there a way to get my voice memos onto iTunes without having to go to the extreme of removing the content from my phone? I'm afraid that if I push the "sync music" button, it will erase all of my voice memos from my phone. Any help or ideas??

Well, while I cannot fully help as I don't mess with voice memos nor use manually manage, perhaps you can at least use the Share button in Voice memos to email them to yourself just as a precaution before trying anything.

  • How to get back voice memos from my computer

Hello, is there any way to get back voice memos from my computer? please help, very urgent, thank you in advance:)

  • Voice memos do not transfer to PC

    Hello everyone:
I have been reading a lot about this subject in Apple Support Communities.
But I haven't found any answer that works for me.
I have some voice memos in my iPhone 4. Every time I sync the iPhoen with my computer (PC) the voice memos transfer to the iTunes playlist and I find them in the iTunes Media folder (on the Voice memo folder) also.
But if I move them or change the name of them, the Voice memo never syncs again.
The problem that I have is that I lost one voice memo in my computer, maybe I accidentally erase it from the computer. I wasn't worried until I have benn trying to sync again and to transfer it AGAIN from the iPhone but the voice memo won't transfer.
So, it is stuck on my iPhone.
Is more than 1 hour long and so I can't send it via e-mail. I have tried: erase it from the iTunes playlist, changed the label on the iPhone voice memo app, closing all the apps before sync, everything. I even download a software DiskAid but it only let me transfer 3 voice memos. What if this happens again and is more than 3 voice memos?
    Anyone can help me?
    Thanks!!

    Thnaks justbeinghelpful.
What do you mean by "use Iexplorer or another 3rd party software like easeus mobisaver or wondershare dr fone"? I have iexplorer but what do I have to do??
I'm sorry but don't know how to proceed.
    thanks!

  • How can I get my voice memos back to the voice memo app on my iphone

Yeah, i just synced my iphone with my iTunes library and almost everything went smooth..  my pictures, apps, contacts, calendar, etc.  But I can not find the most important thing, the voice memos..  I had transferred them to my iTunes library the last time i synced, so i thought logically they should sync back into my voice memo app. Its important because they were lectures (im in college)!  And I planned to keep in order until the end of the semester until i had to restore it and back it up (because i went to get a new iphone)..
But now, i open the voice memo app, and its blank, there's not one memo..  And i don't know how to get them back in there..  I think i could put them in my Music library, but i dont want to do that.   I like to keep them in the voice memo app, so when i have exams i can just go back and listen to them in order (without them being all over the place.)
So all I'm asking is, is there a way to get my voice memos back to the voice memo app?  I have the latest version of iTunes (11.0.1.12) and an iPhone 4 with the latest iOs (6.0.1) and note i have a PC (Windows 7)..    I hate how iTunes totally changed their layout, it makes it harder.  That's why i couldn't follow older discussions on here, because the update made the layout so different..  Anyway, if you know what i should do, i would be very grateful.  Thanks.

    Hey mahongue!
I have some information here that may help you import your voice memos into iTunes. This information is written for the iPod, but the steps for saving your voice memos should be the same with your iPhone:
    Synchronize
If iPod is set to update songs automatically and you record voice memos, the voice memos are automatically downloaded to a playlist in iTunes when you connect iPod. Once downloaded, the voice memos are removed from the Voice Memos folder on your iPod. To play the voice memos that have been synchronized to your computer in iTunes, select the Voice Memos playlist on the left side of the iTunes window. To play the synchronized voice memos on the iPod, select the Voice Memos playlist in the Music menu, not the Voice Memos menu in the Extras menu.

  • Help! I've deleted my voice memos playlist on iTunes. How do I transfer my voice memos on my iPhone to iTunes for a second time?

Help! I've deleted my voice memos playlist on iTunes. How do I transfer my voice memos on my iPhone to iTunes for a second time?

You need to have the latest version of iTunes on the computer, version 11.1.3 to be able to handle syncing a newer phone with iOS 7. The iTunes on the iPhone has nothing to do with syncing and is installed by the iOS.
Go to iTunes on the computer, click on Help, Check for updates to update iTunes on the computer, or go to to www.apple.com/itunes/download and download and install the latest version of iTunes to correct your problem.

How do I transfer voice memos from my iPhone5 to iTunes?

In the Sync settings area of iTunes when the phone is connected, you check the Music area, and check off Voice Memos too. I'm not sure right now what the exact verbiage is but it is where you check off what music you want to sync.

  • My all voice memos are deleted, how to retrieve them

my all voice memos are deleted after syncing it with itunes...how to retrieve them ??

Thanks Bro. I have backup. and I did the same thing twice but only 26 contacts appear on the device. Now again yesterday after your suggestion again I restored the device but the result was same. Then I thought a new thing. I restored the device one more time but after restoring I didn't configure the icloud account. Surprisingly all my old contacts are there in the device but those 26 contacts are not there. Now I will tell you how this must have happened? I had 3gs earlier. that was stolen 3 months ago. I put the device in lost mode. I purchased new iphone4. I restored with itune. All my data came back. After that I saved these 26 new contacts to my device which also saved in icloud but when I tried to backup on my pc it was not happening. the messege coming device disconnected. 2 days back my stolen device came online. Lost mode was activated by icloud. But what I think in between that time the other fellow must have deleted the phone contacts. And as per icloud also deleted the same. Only the 26 contacts which I saved in these 3 months remained in icloud. Now bro can u help me out? What I should do? I have 26 contacts in icloud and < 500 in my device. I don't understand when all other Co's mobile you can import contacts from any backup file iphone can not. This is the DRAWBACK OF IPHONE.

  • Not all voice memos showing up in iTunes

    Hi,
I am having problems syncing my voice memos from my iPhone to iTunes.
I have around 60 recordings on my iPhone (5S, iOS 8.1.3) and I want to transfer them to my Macbook via iTunes (OS X Yosemite10.10.1; iTunes version 12.1.0.50). For some reason, only 17 of my recordings are showing up in the "Voice Memos" folder in the "On My Device" Section in iTunes. The 17 that are there are more or less random, with some of them being several months old and a few of them being recent. It is not possible to transfer even these 17.
I have checked the "Include voice memos" box as well as the genre "Voice memos" when syncing (but not the Playlist "Voice Memos", since it doesn't exist for some reason), but still it is not synced. Restarting iTunes and reconnecting the iPhone doesn't make a difference. It is also not a problem with storage, as I have 8 GB available on my iPhone and 160GB on my Mac.
I have also tried to manually transfer the recordings to my Mac using Airdrop, but my iPhone cannot find the Mac, although it is switched on and visibility is set on "Everyone". I have tried switching both devices off and on, without luck. Any ideas?
I have seen that several people have experienced some problems with voice recordings, but I have not been able to find a good solution to my problem yet. I would be grateful if anyone has any advice. Is there any other way to transfer the voice recordings to my Mac? They are too large for email/imessage. Is there a way to transfer them via iCloud/Dropbox/Google Drive? I have not yet managed to add the voice memos to either of them from my iPhone.
    Thank you in advance!

    Heiko,
I had the same problem and noticed that the missing albums had been PhotoCast. Apparently these albums are not available for transfer to your iPod. When I Stopped Publishing the album, the problem was solved.
    I hope this helps, Jim
Not sure when exactly this happened but I guess with
    the installation of iTunes 6.04.
Some of the albums I've created in in iPhoto do not
show up in the iTunes iPod options.
I first noticed when trying to view photos on my iPod
that images that had been there before were no longer
    available.
Anybody else experiencing this? Any idea on how to
    fix this?
I've already tried to restore my iPod and delete the
iPod Cahe folder but that didn't help.
    Thanks,
    Heiko.

If you're exporting a project then you'll only get the images in that project. Also if any of the masters are referenced then you won't get those masters unless you check Consolidate masters into exported library
It might be best if you started from the beginning and explained what it is your are trying to do and how you're going about doing it. Also a description of you're hardware/software setup would be helpful.
