Trouble getting flash to install
I am having trouble getting flash to install on my system. I have vista, and am using IE8. Every time that I run the Adobe DLM I get this message "Operating system error! (16291.103.506 - 73172312.80004005.FFFFFFFF.00000000)" Now I have no idea what that means, but I am pretty sure that isn't good. If there is anyone who could help me sort this out I would appreciate it a lot.
Use the installer without DLM:

I am having trouble getting Flash media to play on my Hubpages website - http://everydaygreen.hubpages.com - and am wondering if it can be used on this particular web service or if it is blocked by some of their script. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't get FLASH to Instal on my MAC OSX 10.8.5 Beyand Frustrating!
I have tried several times over the past 36 months to get the updates version of FLASH to install on my MAC. It just won't do it. I have gone to the Adobe Trouble shooting guide and followed all the steps. Please help. I am beyond frustrated!!!!!
I did all that stuff that is referenced in Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac?
I have no idea what a "Log File" is.....so I would have an easier flying to the Moon than figure that out.
What occurs is this:
1) I download the Adobe Flash Player Installer
2) I start the Install
3) I ALWAYS get the same message at roughly 82% Install: "Error: General Installation Error".
This is the same thing that happens over and over. I have done everything that is referenced in the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac post.
On another note, I have ALWAYS been able to ib=nstall FLASH on every update up until about 6 months ago. I know my original Post said "the past 36 months", but I meant to say the past 6 months.
Thanks,
Sam
It is the same failure every time.
Thanks,
Sam

Having trouble getting CF11 to install under Linux
Hi,
First, apologies if this (or a similar version) ends up posted here twice.
I am trying to install CF11 (ColdFusion_11_WWEJ_linux64.bin) on a Scientific Linux machine and am getting the following, as it craps out:
Preparing to install...
Extracting the JRE from the installer archive...
Unpacking the JRE...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
Launching installer...
JRE libraries are missing or not compatible....
Exiting....
My java version is:
java -version
java version "1.7.0_71"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (rhel-2.5.3.1.el6-x86_64 u71-b14)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode)
Do any of you have any suggestions as to what I need to do to get this to install?
Thanks,
SteveWell, this apparently was a bizarre failure mode when /tmp got full. By setting IATEMPDIR to something with more space, I was able to get this to finish. Have to say, that was not intuitive. :-\

Trouble with Flash CS3 install
Where do I begin with something this weird? I'm on a Windows
XP laptop. I meet the minimum requirements. I downloaded the trail
version of Flash Professional CS3 today. I ran the executable,
which extracted files onto my Desktop. I went into the Adobe CS3
folder it put on my laptop and ran Setup.exe. It seemed to run just
fine, though I wasn't paying close attention to the process. When I
got the done screen, I didn't even look to see if everything had
properly installed; I just assumed it did.
Now while all this was happening, I was browsing the
internet. I'm both careful and paranoid, so I use Mozilla Foxfire
with adblocking, etc. I went to a site I thought I could trust and
something attempted to install a file on my computer, which Firefox
appropriately asked me if I wanted. I said no, but it gave me a bad
feeling (esp. since I never get popups like that anymore), so once
Flash was done installing, I decided to use System Restore to back
up to the day before, just to play it safe.
After running system restore, of course my install of Adobe
Flash was gone (which I expected) so I went ahead and ran the
install file again. This time I wasn't doing anything else, so I
paid attention to the process. The install file ran fine, but when
it got to the part where it asked me which components I wanted to
install, the only component listed was the Flash Player 9 (the
actual Flash Professional program was not listed as an option I
could choose). Still, I checked the Player 9 and continued to see
what would happen. It went to a screen that listed components it
was ready to install, which *included* Flash Professional CS3. So I
clicked okay, it did its thing, and when it finished it said it had
succesfully installed Flash Player 9 but there had been an Error
installing Flash Pro. Indeed, Flash Pro was not on my computer.
Thinking the download might be corrupt, I uninstalled Flash
Player 9 and deleted the file I'd downloaded. I went back to the
Adobe site and downloaded the Flash CS3 trial again. I went through
the same process, with the same results. No Flash Pro, only Flash
Player. I am baffled.i had the same problem and after countless hours i just
downloaded flash pro 8
its so great
you could just download version 8
sorry its not much help -
Your operating system & version windows 7
Your web browser(s) & version O 28.0.1750.48
Your Flash Player version none at the moment
Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible
download, click install, answer questions (about letting adobe do updates, starts to install, gets to 66% and says it is finished, message come up saying didn't install correctly, sends to one of two (duplicate) pages...go thru steps, says no flash installed, yes it is enabled, yes, i checked to be sure it gets thru security.
HELP! *please*I tried to edit my post or add an addendum to say I meant to write 3.6.6 but couldn't. The problem has been resolved. Just wish I knew what I did to fix it. I tried a new way to launch the installer (but I'm not at my Mac at home right now and cannot remember the term for the program I opened ... icon looks like a gray chalk board) ... "terminal" ... is that it? Anyway, it finally installed. Thanks for the help ... Now, I just hope I can post this since I couldn't yesterday.

Trouble with flash player install
I get the message that flash player 10 has been installed (no error messages), but it doesn't work and it doesn't show the MB size of the program when you go to add/remove programs. I have Windows Vista 32 bit, using explorer 8-----have disabled the pop-up blocker. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
I will answer your questions, although you aren't talking to me. I desperately need answers.
Here are the files in the directory you inquired about:
Install.log
Flash10v.ocx
FlashInstall.log
FlashUtil10v_ActiveX.dll
FlashUtilv_ActiveX.exe
And I'm using IE9 and yes, the Shockwave Flash Object is visible and the add-on is enabled. -

Unable to get Flash to install/run
For some reason, our youtube videos and many websites
suddenly stopped working. We have an imac (tiger) with intel-based
processor. We uninstalled flash, shut down and rebooted and then
installed flash according to instructions, which, when completed
directs us to Adobe's website showing different versions of flash.
Flash does not show up in applications (in spite of being installed
according to instruction) and videos/ websites still do not
function. I am mystified. Any help or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.HI joliev2831324

Please Help: Flash Express Install Problem
Hello,
I am having a bit of trouble getting Flash Express Install to
work correctly with my Flash Detection kit. Basically, I have
followed the steps in [URL="
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/fp8_detection.html"
Hoekman, Jr.'s article[/URL], but when I test the Express Install,
I get the following errors:
(1) When I test it out with all my files on the server, the
browser crashes and the upgrade fails.
(2) When I test it locally on my Mac OSX hard drive, I am
prompted to quit my browser in order to perform the upgrade. It
should allow me to keep the browser open and load my SWF once
updated:
"Express Install... prompts users to upgrade to Flash Player 8
if they do not have it already and, when installation is complete,
returns the user back to the page that started the process."
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
-ScottI'm having the same issue, Slunceford. It works perfectly on
PC IE but the Mac requirement of closing the browser (Firefox)
means that the user leaves the page entirely. Any advice
