Trouble getting iPhoto app

Recently my Macbook had to be repaired, which involved rebooting. The iPhoto app is not there anymore. An Apple employee told me if I sign into Applications, then iPhoto would come up for free, but it won't give me an option other than paying for it. How do I re-download this app for free?

Go to your Account info and in there you should see a link to show hidden purchases. Are any of the iLife apps listed?
Are you sure you are signed in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID that Mac is registered to. It seems a lot of peoplpe think they need a separate Apple ID for each peice of of Apple hardware they own.

The apps in the iTunes App Store are only for the iOS devices. These apps do not run on Mac OS X. If the app exists for Mac OS X then it is a version created for the Mac and it will not run on iOS devises. If you want this app on your iOS device and on your Mac, you must buy both versions from their respective app stores.

Trouble getting new Apps

I'm having trouble getting more apps it know asks me to sign in and verify my payment info when I do it then says the payment is declined and this is happening when I'm trying to dowload the free apps I haven't even tried buying any yet?

maybe you have entered the wrong details in your credit card or it is already expired. Even though its a free app and will not charge you anything, it confirms thru your credit card.

Trouble getting new app to logon to BOEMembership Provider

Hello. I am trying to create a separate website to work in conjunction with our InfoView site. however, I'm having trouble getting the BOEMembershipProvider to logon. I've been able to get the EnterpriseSession member to log on (verified through the CMC's Settings/Metrics screen), however, how do I get the BOEMembershipProvider to log on? I was hoping to use this to help with the searching through all the infoobjects - like the queryfilter for the BOEHierarchicalDataSource...My development pc is Windows XP sp2, I'm using Visual Studio 2005 C#, with the CR XI R2 sdk. I've double checked my web.config file to correspond to the documentation from BO's website, however, we use WindowsAD plugin for security for most of our users (with single sign-on), and Enterprise security for a few others. When I try to set the authentication="secWinAD", I receive the error message "Requested value 'secWinAD' was not found. (C:\IGS\IGSReportServer\IGSReportServer\web.config line 44)". If I change it back to 'secEnterprise', I am able to get the 10% of users logged on to the BOEMembershipProvider. Here's what I have for the web.config... <membership defaultProvider="MGBOEProv"> <providers> <add applicationName="IGSReportServer" connectionStringName="cms" enableCookies="true" authentication="secWinAD" name="MGBOEProv" type="BusinessObjects.Enterprise.Providers.BOEMembershipProvider" /> </providers> </membership>so my question is, why is the authentication not working? I do have the BusinessObjects.Enterprise.Providers and the CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Auth.secWinAD references in the app - am I missing something else as well? I'm also pasting in the code where I can log in using the EnterpriseSession and for the secEnterprise users, but the BOEMembershipProvider.ValidateUser returns a false for the secWinAD users? I'm 99% sure that it's returning a false because I can't change the authentication to secWinAD successfully, but don't know what piece I'm missing. Any help would be great! thanks! There's a known issue with .NET Provider logging on using Windows AD authentication. It's described in Knowledge Base4789956 on the BusinessObjects support site.

Trouble Getting iPhoto to Work with Bridge

So, I successfully was able to create an alias folder for Bridge to see both the 'Originals' and 'Modified' folders from iPhoto's library. When I edit an image in Bridge (using Camera Raw) I do a "save as" in the same folder I opened it. Then, when I switch back to iPhoto that newly edited image does not appear. Why is that?

I for one am having constant problems since I returned from a July honeymoon. All was good with a “Draft-N” D-Link router, but since returning I’ve had many, many connection failures WIRED. I have no Airport card in my Mac Pro 8 core. Same setup as when I left and all was well: Cable Modem>D-Link (NOW the sam DIR-655. Thanks, CostCo). CAT 5 to: Mac Pro, HP 2605DN printer, and connected to my hard-wired system to two rooms in my house.
Here’s a big clue for me. When I reboot into a bootable backup drive I haven’t updated since May 30, I seem to have no problems. Also, on the normal boot drive, my MobilMe (ugh) mail account was giving me fits. I deleted and tried to have it automatically fill in the settings as it used to, but now I need to supply all other sorts of info and can’t restore it. One last thing, if it helps. On my normal, badly-working boot drive, the iDisk says “MobilMe” On the older drive I’m on now it says dontruett.
I’d welcome advice. I’m taking a guess that some update I did since May 30 cause this and am ready to clone the working drive back to the main boot drive, losing a bunch of things in the process.
Any thoughts would be most welcome.

How do I get iPhoto to recognize a scanned jpeg?

I am trying to scan old photographs from books, and put them into iPhoto. Eventually all the photos will be used in an iMovie project. I am having trouble getting iPhoto to recognize the format of the scanned picture. When I try to import the jpeg file, iPhoto says it cannot recognize the format. Any suggestions?

As a text try this:
go to Toad's Cellar and download the Automator workflow applicaton "Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile".
unzip the application on the Desktop.
drop a copy of one of your scanned photos onto the Automator workflow application.
import the resulting converted image file into iPhoto.
If the above lets you import the image file into your library you can process the remaining files and import them.

What exactly did you try? You have to restore the iPad from the phone backup and download the apps again if you are using iCloud. If you are using iTunes, the process is basically the same but you have to sync the apps back to the iPad.

Trouble opening iPhoto library saved on ex HD after Yosemite update

Last week I saved my entire iPhoto library onto an external hard drive (Lacie) to create more space on my MacBook Air.
I made sure I was able to open the library safely with the 'option function' through the Lacie before deleting all of the 4k photos from my computer.
Today I updated to the OS X Yosemite. Now when I attempt to open the library saved on the Lacie, it's showing up grey and not allowing me to open.
ANY IDEA HOW I CAN ACCESS ALL OF THESE PHOTOS?
Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

I hope this helps you to ... I hat the same problem in Yosemite - iPhoto.
Importing the photo library ... I let it run for more than 24 hours ... but nothing.
I used iPhoto Library Manager to get back all of my photo in iPhoto.
This works for me ... it toke about 10 minutes to get iPhoto App work again.
You can download the iPhoto Library Manager for free and using the trail version.

I have deleted all the suggested files and then redone install and updates.

Assuming you've done a system wide search for it including the Applications folder and it's not there......
I think you will need to address this with them - did you pay them for the application? Or was your purchase price to include it? And the question(s) to ask them:
If the app store states that it has been downloaded, ask them where it is and which Apple ID they used. (the store keeps track of Apple IDs and machine IDs on everything you download).
I have absolutely no faith in their advice; however, in this case, it's not so much technical advice, but an answer to your questions: you paid for something and it appears not to be there.

Run Repair Permissions in Disk Utility and see if that helps.
If not, you can select the iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder, go File > Get Info (or Command-i), go to the bottom of the info window and set your permissions to Read & Write. On the Action menu at the bottom (the one with the gear) choose Apply to enclosed items...
