Trouble getting MP4 files into 30G IPOD

I have ripped a DVD into MP4 format but was unable to add it to ITUNES for transfer into my video IPOD. I am using a demo copy of CUCUSOFT converter software to experiment with. I have thought about buying QuickTime 7.0 but have heard nothing about it regarding ease of use etc.

I have attempted to drag the file into ITUNES Video section as well as create a playlist and drop it in. Neither has worked and I don't receive any errors, the file just doesn't appear. The file resides on my hard drive as an MP4 file but I can't do anything with it.

Trouble getting video files into iPod Video

I am having trouble getting some video files onto my Video iPod.
Some videos will sync onto my iPod, some won't.
But, they are formatted the same way. And have the same extension.
The format for the files are:
Frame size: 320x240
Video: H.264
Audio: AAC
I see nothing in Quicktime's movie properties that is different between the videos that will, and will not transfer onto my iPod.
What do I need to change to make these files update onto my iPod?

I'm trying to frag MP4 files into I Movie and when I release the mouse it just returns them to where they came.

The thing is - I don't know about Codecs, and please take this the right way when I say - I'm not interested in Codecs.
I just want to drag my movie files taken in whatever format I take them in and drag them into Imovie to work on them.
mp4 is a fairly common format?
then I have very little possibility to be of help - as I only can guide You a bit of the way to understand and work around this Problem - I never denied it to be.
But it seems that every Camera company makes there own solutions and to make Video editing programs or DVD authoring ones that can use every strange Video Codec availably - is impossibly - Not even FinalCut or Avid or Adobe Premiere can do this.
.mp4 - is no more Video Codec as any folder or hard disk - and tell that my material is on a hard disk, doesn't help us in understanding where it goes wrong.
So if You want to get this to work - then You need to set of a minimum of interest in howto get it right.
To find out the Codec
• Open the file with QuickTime-Player (as it can open many many more Codecs than iMovie can use)
• here open Inspector [cmd+I] and read
Video Format (Codec) : nnnnnnnnnnnnn
Frames per second : YY.yy fps
What does they say ?
If You feel offended and don't want - There is no solution as I know of.
AND - I have no intention to offend at any cost - but need info (and so does the others here too) to be able to reach out a hand

Can't open a video .mp4 file into CS6

How do I load an .mp4 file into Photoshop CS6 from Bridge? I followed the video tutorial from Adobe - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/new-video-features-photoshop-cs6.html - which says to load them into Photoshop as layers and I keep getting an error message in Photoshop that says I have to select 2 videos. So I selected 2 videos and still get the same error. I don't know what else to do.
I've also tried from Bridge to select the .mp4 file then go to File > Open with > Photoshop CS6 and I get the following error - Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.

Getting video files to your iPod

Q. How do I get video files to my iPod?
A. First of all for DVD's and the like, you'll need a video capture device(a.k.a. a video card that usually comes with a program that allows you to record video from a number of sources).
Once you've recorded your file which might not be Mpeg-4 or H.264 but will probably be AVI or WMV, what I recommend at this point is the iPod video converter from Xilisoft. this powerful little tool will enable you to open just about any file(WMV,MPEG,AVI...and so on) and convert it to and iPod compatible format. The plus of this program compared to others is not only can you download a trial version, but you get five full minutes of recording without any watermarks(basically print over your new recording that usually says "trial version" or something that can only be removed by purchasing the full version of the product.)
Third, for editing this is where you can put the 40 bucks you spent on quicktime pro to some use. Now you should be able to open your file in Quicktime without any problems and edit your video for final viewing. (That's if you need to of course. Some video capturing devices don't allow you to do editing.)
Lastly, if you can't be bothered with all this editing stuff, drop your new video file into your iPod in iTunes, right click the file once iPod is updated, select "get info". One of the tabs should allow you to input the point or time you want the file to start playing.

They first need to be in iTunes. Find them on the music store under podcasts.
Once they are there, connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferences in iTunes. Clcik the iPod tab. Then click the videos tab. Make sure update all videos is selected. Then click the podcasts tab under the iPod and make sure that update all podcasts is selected. Click OK.
If they are not in the right format, then right click an epsidoe and go to convert selection for iPod. You can highlight multiple episodes and convert them at once.

Problems with importing mp4 files into iTunes.

Hi all,
Since a few days I am the proud owner of an iPad 2. When I was looking for a solution to sync my video files (no problems with my pictures nor with my music files), I saw that I had to convert them from .avi to .mp4.
Through this community I learned that there were several free and paid options. Such as handbrake, convertavitomp4.com, etc etc
In the end I have tried around 4, but when trying to get the files into my library of iTunes it fails. In the beginning I did not receive any error message. It just did not work. I tried through CTRL-O, drag and drop. Nothing seems to be working.
Does it have something to do with the fact that I have the newest iTunes (10.5) and the latest OS for the iPad?
Does anyone have The same experience or knows a solution?

I am checking out flex player after your recommendation. However, I have since resolved my problem. I am running windows 7, 64 bit, and discovered that the problem was windows 7 security settings. All my itunes data was on a hard drive that I plugged into my new pc running windows 7. Despite allowing me to access the hard drive in the usual way, I discovered (after some help from someone more knowledgeable) that the problem was that all my itunes data was protected and I did not have "full control" rights in the security settings. Very odd, given that I have only one user account on the pc. And why it could not tell me what the problem was I don't know. But what I did was right click the drive and make sure my user account had "full control" rights and now I can drag and drop movies into itunes. This may not fix your issue but hope you resolve it soon.

How do I get my file into the time line in Premiere Pro CC? I am use to Premier Pro CS6 and unfortunately my labtop took a crash and I lost all of my adobe products. I wanted to check out a trial version and I cannot seem to find one for CS6! Please Help Me! My project is due tonight!!!!!

Welcome to the Forums.
You have to just right click on the clip imported, in the project panel and select new sequence from clip. You can also go to file menu>new>sequence and create a sequence and then drag the clips after importing them , into the timeline.

How do you convert a swf or mp4 file into flv using creative cloud programs?

I am trying to embed a video as HTML5 with Flash fallback into my Dreamwaver site and only have the swf file of the video.
Please let me know if you have any ideas about how to convert a swf or mp4 file into flv, without loosing pixels and quality of the swf file.

If you have MP4 video, you can use Pickle Player which has built-in Flash fallback for Mozilla. No conversions required .

Import Sorenson mp4 files into FC?

I have a problem importing mp4 files into FC. Perhaps someone could help.
FC's stated acceptable video files are .flv and .f4v.
I use Sorrenson Squeeze 6 (Flash Version) for compressing video. Squeeze does not output to .f4v directly. When I posted to the Sorenson forum regarding this lack of .f4v encoding (i think earlier versions of Squeeze use to export to .f4v), there was a reply that an mp4 file utilizing .aac audio would be importable to Flash.
However, when I attempted to import Sorenson encoded mp4 files, FC did not even recognize the files in the directory. Interestingly, Sorenson has a whole collection of mp4 presets which are entitled Fhash 9+.presets.
Does FC have a different range of acceptable formats than other programs in the Flash family?
Has anyone had expereince with this issue? Any suggested workarounds? I have already tried to rename the Sorenson file with the .f4v extension, but that did not seem to work.

Getting data files on the iPod

the ipod shows that you have to drag and drop files into the ipod from the summary tab, i enabled the disk use, but can not upload no files to my ipod?
can files be saved onto the ipod in PDF files? there is no tab for notes...
cam i even view files on my ipod??? not sure if im clear in explaining this, any help please...

Trouble getting audio files when importing R3D files into CS5.5 Prem Pro

Importing R3D files into Premiere Pro CS5.5 works for Video but the audio doesn't convert properly.   There is an audio file included in the R3D file that PP can see but it just has a few spikes.
This same file played in REDcine-X plays the video/audio just fine.   Is there some audio setting in Premiere Pro that I should be setting?
Oddly enough if I use REDcine-X to output a RED Trim file and then import it into PP, the audio file is shown separately and is imported correctly.   This of course involves a file conversion step in the workflow and a step that we are hoping to avoid.

Problem importing MP4 files into iTunes

I'm tearing my hair out here! I've used a DVD ripper to convert a track from a DVD into an (iPod friendly) MP4 format. I then dragged & dropped the MP4 "chapter" into iTunes Library, where it appeared in Movies, but I had to click on Advanced>Convert Selection for iPod. It took iTunes about 1 hour to convert the track & then it played on iPod. (Was SO CHUFFED I'd got it to work!) Flushed with success, I tried doing several tracks at once but when I tried to get iTunes to convert again, I got a message saying the file is already in the correct format. And although file is showing in Library>Movies, it doesnt register in my iPod>Movies and of course it won't play. Please help.
