Trouble getting photos from iphoto to iPhone

A few months back I had updated my iphone to 4.3.2 (somewhere around there) and it began transferring only a very small subset of the photos from photo to my phone.  After the sync, it would say something to the effect of "Image "DSC_00112" could not be transfered to the iPhone".  However, when I opened open photos on the iphone, only about 450 photos of my 3100 photo library were on the phone.  I read some details in the past that there were others with this problem but that upgrading solved the problem.  Today I upgraded to iOS 5 hoping the problem would resolve.  Now when I choose to sync all photos, it doesn't even give me a dialogue box anymore, but still only a small subset of the photos in my photo library cross over to my iphone.... I don't really know why the phone is not allowing most of my photos to transfer, and I have no notion of how to fix it.  Have tried multiple fixes, including manually selecting albums to transfer, repairing iphoto permissions, etc.  Any help or knowledge on the subject would be greatly apprecaited.
Thanks,
Dane

  • Getting photos from iphoto to iphone

OK I bought the new 3G iphone- now I have to fill in the blanks in the apple instructions as usual. I just want to transfer some photos from my iphoto files in my computer to my iphone. My software is up to date. I do not see any way to deal with photos on itunes

Umm ... that'll be the Photos tab in iTunes.
Plug your iPhone into your computer; when iTunes starts, select the iPhone in the left-hand navigation, so you get the options pages. Along the top it goes: Summary, Info, Ringtones, Music, Photos, Videos, Applications.
Select Photos and I think you'll see ho the rest works

how to get photos from pc to iphone?

    1. Connect your iDevice to your computer with the USB connector. Open iTunes and select your device from the left sidebar. Then, select the photos tab from the top menu.
    2. Organize and sync.
First choose where you’d like to sync your photos from. I use iPhoto, but you can use any photo management system.
Check the box next to each album &/or event you’d like to sync.
Alternatively, you could put all the photos you want to transfer into a separate folder on your computer, and choose to sync just that folder from the drop down menu.
Notice that I’ve checked the box “Include videos” so any included videos will also sync.
When your selections are made, click “Apply” and the photos will sync to the photo library on your device.

how do i get photos from iphoto library over to photoshop elements 10 for editing?
this is an iMac that I just got so its all new to me...
    thank you

If you set PSE as external editor, be sure you pick the right file, which is not by any means the logical choice. You want this one:
You can also export the photos from iphoto, edit them and save them under new names and reimport the edited photos as new files. This is more trouble, but lets you save as many different versions of your image as you like (iphoto only remembers the last edited version + original).

  • Error transfer photos from iPhoto to iphone 4.

i have problem sync all my photos from iPhoto to iPhone 4, iPhone is 4.2.1, iTune is 10.2.2., iPhoto'09 8.1.2
Do i need to upgrade to iPhone 4.3.3 or iPhoto '11 for solving this issue? But it doesn't make sense. Please help!

I don't know if you solved this already or what, but I had a similar problem with my iPhone4 - no joy recognizing the photo folder in iPhoto or anywhere else, but no problems with iTunes.  Same problem in both Windows and OSX.  I gave up trying to get iPhoto, photo capture to work and went looking on the AppStore for an alternative.
    Downloaded Photo Transfer,
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-transfer-app/id365152940?mt=8
this solved all my problems immediately.  Ridiculously annoying that the default application doesn't work anymore and that Apple have made it sooo difficult to get to our data, and doubly annoying that the Photo Transfer app isn't free - but it seriously works like a charm.

  • Can't get photos from iPhoto to iPod

My iPod software won't recognize my iPhoto library so I can't synch pictures. When I select the iPod Option to synchronize photos from iPhoto and do an iPod update, it doesn't transfer and photos from iPhoto and in fact it unchecks the synchronize photos option in the iPod software. I'm using a 60GB video iPod w/the current iPod software, iTunes 6.0.1, iPhoto 5.0.4 on an iMac G5, running OS X 10.4.3.

create a special Album in iPhoto for the Nano and place those photos in it you want on the iPod.
connect the Nano to the Mac and when mounted in iTunes open iTunes' preferences and go to the iPod Photos section - Figure 1.
scroll down till you see the album and select it. If you don't want the full sized image files to be copied to the Nano do not select the Include full-resolution photos box.
close the preferences and when the syncing is completed dismount the Nano and then disconnect from the Mac.

How to get photos from iPhoto back onto a SD card. I have a MacBook Pro with built in SD card slot. I have tried "Export" but this does not work.

It's best to export the photos to a folder and then drag the folder onto the memory card.  Memory cards are usually formatted for PCs, FAT 32, which doesn't permit more than a limited number of files in the root directory. Putting the photos in a folder gets around that limitation.

  • Getting photos from iPhoto to SD card

I have read many threads regarding this issue, but cannot find an answer that works. I'm trying to get photos from iPhoto to a 2GB Snadisk SD card for display on a digital photo frame.
I have tried direct drag/drop copying and exporting from within iPhoto, and get a message saying "out of free disk space" or "cannot create volume" after about 100MB of photos have transferred. Obviously there's a lot more space on a 2GB card.
I have tried, according to recommendations here, transferring the photos to a desktop folder and then to a folder on the SD card. This works but the photo frame cannot read photos inside a folder, they must be in the root directory.
I tried transferring to the card while in my camera instead of the card reader and get the same results.
I have reformatted the card in my camera and this did nothing.
Any other advice, or do I need to bag the photo frame?
    Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I have the same problem and haven't found the answer. I had to keep adding files one by one but could only get about 102 file, at 76 MB. IB took my 2G card back and used an old 128 KB card. I tried using folders also with no success. Emailed the manufacturer but haven't heard back from them. If you get a solution post it back here.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • TS3274 Having trouble transfer photos from iphoto to ipad mini.  Any suggestions?

Having trouble transfer photos from iphoto to ipad mini.  Any suggestions?

What problems are you having ? You should be able to sync photos by connecting and selecting your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders (or iPhoto albums/events) to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

  • Import photos from iPhoto to iPhone

How does one import photos from iPhoto to iPhone?
I have looked on the user guide and have found no answer.
    Thanks!

Question: How do you just have the Photo albums on the Iphone and not the Photo Library? Or just have the photo library without the photo albums? I have 146 photos in the library and the folders (two with 87 in one and 59 in the other) That are also in the library. It seems like having duplicates will take up space that I don't want to take up.

  • I'm having trouble uploading photos from iPhoto to Facebook.

I keep getting an error message. It doesn't matter if it's a photo from my iPhone or from my camera.

What are the size of the files you're uploading, how many at a time and how are you getting them from iPhoto to the upload window?  And what do you mean by extremely slow?

  • Importing photos from iphoto to iphone

I have the 'old' version of the iphone and cannot transfer photos from iphoto to the iphone. When i click on the photos tab for the iphone in itunes, the albums and everything except "sync photos from" at the very top are grayed out. Then my only option is to import everything from iphoto onto the iphone, which i do not want to do.
So -- how do I import only certain folders from iphoto onto the phone? How do i get the options below to not be grayed out?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

    newuser1969,
Did you try to rebuild the photo library?
You can find out if the issue is caused by the iPhoto library by testing with an alternate library. Just launch iPhoto while holding Option as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1229 Then import a few photos and open iTunes.
If the issue only happens with your main library, it probably needs to be rebuilt using the article I linked in my first response.
If iTunes does not see the alternate iPhoto library, you may want to uninstall and reinstall iTunes as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224
