I am having trouble getting started with my new shuffle. any help?

    Hey there Feisty59,
It sounds like you have a new iPod Shuffle, and want to know how to start using it. Here is a great resource for understanding how to use your iPod, and how to set it up and get music synced to it from iTunes:
    iPod shuffle User Guide
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1550/en_US/iPod_shuffle_4thgen_User _Guide.pdf
If you have a different model of iPod Shuffle, choose yours from the following page and use that guide instead:
    Apple - Support - Manuals

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • Please help me get started with my new ipad

    Hi all--merry Christmas!
So, I'm away from home and just got my new ipad! Of course I want to play with it, but am not sure how to start. My full itunes library is on my iMac at home (and this is what I use when I sync my iphone). I do have my MacBookPro with me, but I don't use the itunes program on it very much. It looks like I need to connect my new ipad to my itunes in order to start using it....what will happen if I connect it to my laptop here, just to get going, and then later when I home I connect it to my iMac where my "real" itunes and all my apps are?
Thanks for any info...I'm salivating to use it!!!

    Congrats you will love it!
I don't see a problem with activating your iPad on your MBP. When you get home sync with iMac and set your iPad up as you like.
    Have fun!

  • Getting started with a new Integration project

    Good day all!
I am just in the beginnings stage of a development project for an enhancement to the CRM OD system. This project is related to the Opportunity and Product Revenue (PR) objects.
In a nutshell, here is what I need to do. We have a custom object called 'Competitor Pricing' (called CP from here on) which is a listing of all our primary competitors and associated pricing for related items. Due to the nature of our business, this CP is region specific, so indexing is on: competitor, product type and region.
Our sales people will quote multiple items to a customer, some of which they will win, some they may not. I cannot just call an opportunity a Win or Loose because, for example, if there are 5 items on an opportunity and we win 3 of the 5, then the opportunity is a partial win.
For the 2 that we did not win, if the customer purchased them from a competitor, we need to annotate that at the PR object level. This is the crux of my problem.
From what I have read, there is no way to associate a custom object to a child object PR is a child object). If I can get this association to work, I can get the rest of my requirements completed. I just cannot determine how to get the CP associated to the PR. Can anyone help or give guidance?

For most people, this would not be possible. But with integration, I think you might be able to get there. You can definitely store the associations in custom fields using integration. What you would not be able to do is use an OOTB link to navigate from the child object to the custom object. But, you should be able to create a weblink field that would link the user to the CP record, and either popup the information in a new window, or navigate the user to the CP object.
The link would need need to be based on the row ID of the CP record, and you would have to use integration to populate the values, but since you are already talking about integration, this isn't significantly more complicated to complete.
Good Luck and let me know how it goes for you. My email is in my profile.

  • Trouble getting started with gift of photoshop cs3+

I received a gift from a friend--a year's worth of monthly payments. When I try to download, it only gives me a trial version. Is this correct? What do I do?

There is no such thing as "monthly payments" for the obsolete and unsupported Photoshop CS3+—and there never was one.  Did you mean Photoshop CC (a.k.a. Photoshop 14.x)?  If not, please elaborate.
If you downloaded CS3 Extended, you're never going to get it to work with a subscription model serial number for Photoshop CC.

  • How do I get started with my new Mac and and Iphone?

I had my Iphone synced with a PC that literally burned up unexpectedly. I replaced it with a Mac and want to sync my phone, however, when I click to manage content manually, a message pops up telling me that my phone will be erased (!!). Because I have lots of music and apps on the phone, I don't want to go back to square one. What do I need to do to make the new computer work with my phone?

"The help file seems to say that all the music I have ripped from CDs when my old PC was authorized can't be copied into Itunes."
That is correct. the music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
The iphone will sync/manually manage with one and only one computer at a time. When you sync/manually mange with another, it will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
"Another responder cited a help page which suggested that I should back up the phone to writable CDs (why the heck would I want to do that?)."
I think you misunderstand. You backup your itunes library from your computer, not from the iphone.
You simply move everything from the old computer, or the backup copy of the old computer, to the new one.

  • Wish I could get started with my new iPad

Ordered it on December 15th and am hearing it is still sitting in China! Nice 2 day shipping! My confidence is shot when it comes to Apple!

Did the Holiday 2 day shipping. Talked to 4 customer service reps and all fed me crap about it being there in time for Christmas and still nothing. I was told look for it Friday, Monday, then Tuesday and then that it would be delievered today. The new shipping number is invalid, now there are 2 ipads on my receipt because they did a reorder on the first one.
I am not a Mac person when it comes to laptops or desktops. I do however love my iphone, ipods (Classic, touch and Shuffle) and thought the iPad would be an awesome addition....guess not. Seriously? If they canot do two day shipping then they should take it off their website and stop telling people on the phone that they CAN make it happen. I know it is coming, but it is the priniple of the matter. Dont promise the customer something and then say oops...check tomorrow.

  • Trouble getting started with AX

I'm sorry if this issue has been addressed early; in perusing earlier posts I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
I have purchased an AX and want to inlcude it in my home wireless network, which uses a Neatgear wireless router. I've plugged the AX into the wall and get a blinking amber light which I believe means it cannot find a connection. When I go into the Airport Setup Assistant I only get information about Airport Base Stations - no apparent way to set up the AX.
So, my question is how do I proceed?
    Thanks.

Problem solved. I moved to a machine connected wirelessly and through some trial and error was able to get thing set up. I have to say this is one of the less intuitive things Apple has done (but it works great, including using Airfoil to send non-iTunes music to remote speakers).

  • Trouble getting started with Creative Cloud

After my trial ended, I started a subscription to Creative Cloud. Various apps show they are updated but where are the downloaded apps? I can't find any of them to launch. The trial was so easy.

Which operating system are you on?
On Windows you should be able to launch the programs from the Start Menu. On Mac OS X you should be able to launch the programs from the Applications folder. The Launch links in the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) are just a convenience links to use after the initial installs. After AAM is restarted those links go away.

My printer is a fairly new all-in-one Brother MFC-7860 DW. It is not listed in the iPad AirPrint printers. Can I get it to work with my new iPad2?

If it's not an Airprint enabled printer, you can not natively through your iPad.  BUT, there are apps you can purchase in the App Store, like Print Central ($9), which is what I use myself and works well for my needs.

You must be using an update CD.  You need the software that has the full version first - install that, then you can use the update one if needed. I know, cuz I made the same mistake - lol
