Trouble Going From 10.4.11 to 10.5.6

I have a PPC G5 desktop - running 10.4.11
I have the OS-X Install disk for 10.5.6
Quite all applications
Used Disc Utility to Repair all permissions
Ran the Installer for 10.5.6...
First time I got an error that said "can not verify essentials"
It suggested that I quite and try installing again.
I did - second time the installer just hung up - and timed out.
Then I tried to reboot the existing system on the hard drive - and the system won't boot from there. Just goes into the "looking" mode.. with the little rotating circle..
Booted from an external hard drive {a CCC Backup} - and looked at the System Folder/Library on the internal hard drive - lots of New Items there - I suppose from the attempted install of 10.5.6...
Copied the System from the external hard dive back to the internal hard drive. Deleting everything that wasn't on the external drive from the internal drive. So the two Systems are the same..
Restarted - selected the internal hard drive as the start up disc - - The System will still not boot from the internal hard drive...
What do I need to do to first fix the internal hard drive System so it will boot ...
and second
What needs to be fixed in "essentials" {whatever they are} so 10.5.6 can be installed

Trouble going from LR 5,4 demo to CC registrated version

Since buying a Canon 70D my LR 4,4 could no longer read the RAW files from the camera.
So I downloaded the LR 5,4 demo which worked just fine.
Since LR 5,4 is no longer available as a standalone program I started a subscription to CC which also includes Photoshop.
After the CC installation PS worked fine but LR still only runs as a demo and asks for a registration key.
Having read about other peoples similar problems I first removed LR 4,4 from my harddisk but that didn't change anything.
So I removed LR 5,4 as well and attempted to reinstall it from CC - but CC, for some reason, still does not know that I've removed LR - so there is no way I can reinstall it.
Tried to reinstall LR from the Adobe CC homepage. Still unable to reinstall - so now I don't have any LR at all!!!!

Welcome to Adobe Forum,
Do you have beta(trial version) installed for light room? If yes, then uninstall it completely by checking the preference boxes too.
Now restart the computer & download & install from the CC desktop App. It should work.

Trouble Going From FCP to Color

Every time I send my FCP file to Color I get a red X and cannot see or play the clip back. I am new to this program and am unsure of what I am doing wrong. I have looked in the manual and haven't found anything mentioned at all about a red X. If you could help me that would be great. However, if you are going to be a douche bag in your answer, please don't respond. I know that this is probably a simple question but I need help and this IS a help forum. Like I said, if you are honestly wanting to help, please reply. If you are a jerk, go somewhere else as your response is not wanted here.

(MAC) Trouble going from expired cloud trial after effects to subscription

I bought the student subscription to creative cloud last night after my demo had expired. I run the after effects program and the "your trial has expired" window pops up. I click next, on the bottom left and it prompts me for my email. I put in the email and hit next but it takes me to a window which prompts me for my serial number which I don't have since I'm using cloud.
It may have something to do with the fact that I think I may have used a different email for my trial, and a seperate one to buy the subscription. I'm guessing that there is a problem distinguishing the accounts maybe on my computer or somewhere in the program itself. I have tried uninstalling many times, restarted my computer mulitple times and have tinkered with the locations and preferences and everything. But can't seem to find a solution!
Sorry for the long post, help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

First of all please make sure to click on "Lisence this software" when you have prompt for the same. then provide the email address on which you have purchased the subscription.if you have it already captured to the trial one you can click on "Not my Adobe ID" and change it.
Also check http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-i ssues.html for any network issues if you are using right Adobe ID.

Going From G4s to Duo 2 Core Questions

I'm going from 2 G4's to Duo 2 Cores (shipment to arrive early next week). Three questions to those who have already done it, to avoid problems:
1) I will import my data from the G4s to the new Macs via Target Disk Mode (no Migration to avoid bringing something over that might muck up the works).
Which computer should I boot into Target Disk Mode - the source (G4) or destination (Duo 2 Core)?
Should I boot into Target Disk Mode and then firewire connect, or firewire connect and then boot into TDM?
2) I currently use Office X (Word and Entourage) as my data staple; am upgrading with the purchase of the Duo 2 Cores to Office 2004.
How do I get my Office X Word and Entourage preferences (Normal Template; Address Book, etc) into Office 2004 once 2004 is loaded? Should I install the 2004 appliication onto the Duo 2 Cores, then copy over my Microsoft User Date from Office X (from the G4's to the new computers), then launch Office 2004 on the new computers and somehow import my prefernces; if so, how? If not, what's the best procedure?
3) I use Firefox as my main browser. I do a lot of public records research. Most public records are in PDF format. I currently use the PDF Browser Plug-in (private edition) for viewing. Is that a safe option for Intel Macs? If not, any alternatives suggested?
Lots of questions, but thanks in advance for any input and assistance!

1) I connected my new MacBook to my turned of PowerBook while the MacBook was on. Then I turned on the PowerBook booting into FireWire Target Disk Mode. BTW, I copied Library folder from my PowerBook onto the MacBook's desktop. The rest I just copied directly into my new MacBook personal directory. IOW I opened up both Document folders and copied from PowerBook to MacBook. I was more careful about what I copied from the old Library folder and I did just a little at a time so if trouble developed I could remember what I'd just copied in and remove it. This minimized the number of programs I had to reserialize and configure.
2) This is a good question - I bought MacOffice and used it with the PowerBook. I don't remember the process of moving in - whether it was done automatically or whether I was prompted for where to import files from. I just remember it being pretty painless. Perhaps the safest method would be to install Office on the old G4 first and get it all sorted out there first.
3) There's an Intel updated version of the plug-in available - I'm using it.

Troubles migrating from G4 to Macbook Pro

Hello --- I just got a new MacBook Pro and used the Migration Assistant, not knowing there were problems with going from powerpc to intel. I just pushed start and did whatever standard migration there is.
Well, the new laptop has all sorts of problems now ---- Ical won't open, firefox and adobe reader and handbrake won't open, though I've tried to download them again, the computer tells me it has troubles with the keychains and the new 2011 Microsoft Office I had installed on it can't find any settings or fonts, etc.
Now I discover a page in this forum that advises how to switch over individual library and settings files when going from ppc to intel --- should I use that and manually transfer over that information, or would it just be easier and better to reinstall the whole OS and start over? And if I do that, is there a better way to use the Migration Assistant when I start over? I don't really care about the settings; all I want are my photos and documents.
I also see from my internet searches on this problem that handbrake and mac the ripper aren't really supported on the latest version of OSX --- could anyone point me in the direction of some good replacements for those?

I own a MDD G4, and was nervous. And, I had every reason to be when I attempted to use Migration Assistant to take my Powerbook G4 to my Macbook just over a year ago. It did not work.
So, when my new Mac Pro arrived a couple weeks ago I had already made the decision to NOT use Migration Assistant to move the G4 over to the Mac Pro. .Mac has been a godsend, so much of that information was retained for me.
I had some pretty major issues with Firewire drives. For some reason, once the drives (I had four of them) were plugged into the Mac Pro, they no longer worked on the G4. In fact, one of the FW drives (a 1TB drive) stopped working on BOTH machines. Two of these drives were brand new. So, there's something going on in either the electronics and the Mac Pro, or the electronics and the Mac Pro and Tiger - never figured it out. I eventually took the FW drive out of it's case and now have an extra internal drive in my Mac Pro, which seems to work just fine - inside the Mac - go figure.
I eventually set-up a wireless network between the two systems to transfer over my work, photos, music, etc... And I completely reinstalled all of my applications.

I can see if we can get your phone back on! I understand how important it is to have a phone. Have you tried this to see if we can get it back on? http://vz.to/1DZhteH . If it is still goes to a red Verizon screen and then to black we might need to do a master reset. Data not going from active data table to new data table -DSO activation iss

Data is going from DSO1 to DSO2. I see some of the records are getting missed in DSO 2 which are supposed to come.
There is start routine from DSO1 TO DSO2 and as per the start routine some records should come but they are getting missed.
Apart from that..to DSO 2 there are 4 other DSO sending data.

Strikes -
Go into compositionReady and have 3 variables you will be able to set them like this
strike1 = 0;
strike2 = 0;
strike3 = 0;
So on the wrong item click have
if(strike1 == 0) {
PLAY STRIKE1 ANIMATION
strike1 = 1;
else if(strike2 == 0) {
PLAY STRIKE2 ANIMATION
strike2 = 1;
else if(strike3 == 0) {
PLAY STRIKE2 ANIMATION
strike3 = 1;
So this will make it so when the wrong item is clicked each strike will be played in order.
Random Scrolling -
You should look into the Math.Random function to make things random in edge.
This is an example of the Random function. It will generate a random number up to 100.

Lose Screen Score -
So we can create another variable in compositionReady for the lose score.
score = 0;
Now when the user gains a point to add to the score you could do this code on the click
score++;
which would add 1 to the score, However you can add however much you like to the score doing "score + 2" and so on.
To edit a text with the score at the end which I'm assuming you will want to do you will use .html
so $("Text").html("You score is " + score);

Please help me out as this is very irritating. This has been happening for the last 20-30 minutes. It had roughly half battery left.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
