Trouble Importing Audio
When importing a an audio track in the form of a QT Movie, the track previews fine, When I drag it to the timeline, sync and render it ends up with glitches and drop-outs.
Any help is appreciated.
SC
What format is the audio you're importing? Does it match your FCP Sequence settings? Typically this will be 48khz, 16 bit AIFF format.

Trouble importing audio files in CS4
I have my entire video put together, and when i went to put in simple special effects or backround music i have encountered a major problem. When i go to insert and audio file, Instead of putting the audio file actually in one of the audio tracks ( Audio 1, Audio 2, etc.) it goes into the Video 1 track and mutes my video clip. This is making it impossible to edit my video. So why can i not drag and drop an mp3 file into one of the Audio tracks successfully?
P.S. This is my first time using an Adobe product to edit a video, but i do have editing experience.
Thank YouOK, let's see if this helps a bit.
Go to the Track Header of your existing Audio Tracks (the ones with existing Audio Clips), and Lock them. Now, drag your Audio Clip to an empty Audio Track, or down to the Master Track, for PrPro to create the necessary empty Audio Track.
Does that work?
Note that Audio Source Clips must match the channel-count of the intended Audio Track. This ARTICLE goes into more detail.
Good luck,

I've been trying to import Ogg Vorbis and AIFF files into iTunes 7, but it doesn't for some reason. I go to the Add To Library option, and select the files, but iTunes does nothing. Does the app not support these files, or am I doing something wrong?
Like NikkiG said, AIFF files shouldn't be a problem at all.
What happens if you drop those files on the iTunes icon in the Dock or drop them on the library window in iTunes?
Ogg files are not supported by iTunes. If you happen to have Toast, you can convert them to an iTunes supported format.
If you have Toast and don't know how to convert them, let us know.
Another good converter is Max.
It is not straightforward in it's use, but once you know how it works it's easy (as it is with many things once you know how they work).
Download, install and run it. Set the desired output folder in Preferences>Output.
Next, add an iTunes supported format (MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV) to the 'Configured output formats:' in Preferences>Formats.
You can add several output formats. Max will convert files in all formats which are checked.
When thats all set, choose 'Convert files' from the File menu and select the folder containing the .ogg files.
Max will convert them into the chosen format(s) to the Output folder.
Or, once you've configured Max, drop .ogg files on the Max icon to convert them.
After conversion, drop the converted files on the iTunes icon or choose 'Add to Library..' and navigate to them.
Hope this helps.

ITunes Problem when importing Audio CDs
Since I updated my macbook pro a fortnight ago, I have been having trouble importing audio cds into iTunes.
When I insert an audio cd into my superdrive, iTunes opens as normal. I receive a pop-up message that asks if I want to import the contents of the audio cd. I click "Yes" and the audio cd icon immediately disappears from the iTunes devices list.
I then have to eject the audio cd, re-insert into the superdrive, and I receive the same message in iTunes again. I am able to successfully import the cd the next time.
When initially importing the cd, if I select "No" when asked if I want to import the cd, I can then select all of the tracks in the Audio cd device list and then I can select "create mp3 version".
I tried the same procedure on my wife's macbook pro, and iTunes simply freezes and won't proceed. We both updated our macbook pros about the same time.
If anyone can please offer any insight into this problem, please let me know. I would be most grateful for anyone's help with this issue.
Respectfully,
PugetSounderNo insight I'm afraid, but I have exactly the same problem as the first one you describe. I don't think it happens every time, but most times the first insertion of the CD is as you describe - iTunes asks if I want to import, I click "Yes", and the CD disappears from the left hand column in the iTunes display. When I eject and re-insert, it always works. This must be a bug in iTunes. Can anyone explain it? This is on a MacBook using the latest software - but I don't think there has been an update in the last month (maybe I just forgot).

I have an older Sony digital camcorder, and I am having trouble importing the movie files. Sometimes I get the audio in iTunes without the picture. I have a Pinnacle Dazzle interface. What am I doing wrong. Is there a way to skip the dazzle device?
Chances are the pinnacle is producing .avi files or MPEFG1/2 streams - iTunes may know how to decode the audio but not the video. Download Handbrake and try running the Pinnacle files through it and adding to iTunes - use Universal format unless you have a specific device in mind.
Keep copies of the originals.
Another option might be to try to install Perian. Can't remember if the Apple MPEG2 plugin allows MPEG2 to be played in iTunes.

Having some trouble with importing audio and editing it in iMovie (iLife '11)
Hey guys. Hopefully some of you will be willing to help me with my problem.
Basically I have a video that I've imported into iMovie just fine, and I have a separate audio file that I want to lay over the video. I've figured out how to do this (throw the audio clip into iTunes, then import audio from the iTunes library browser within iMovie). My problem is that I want to have the audio clip I've imported from iTunes come in at a certain point on my video clip, and I want to completely mute the video's sound so that I can ONLY hear the audio clip I've imported from iTunes when that starts playing.
If anyone can help me on how to do this, or if I was confusing and anyone needs clarification please let me know and I'll do my best to replay as quickly as possible.
Thank you very much for any and all input!Drag your audio track from the Music Browser directly onto the point on your video clip where you wish the audio to start. Don't drag it into the background, but onto the clip thumbnail in your Project. I'm assuming that you have already created a Project and dragged clips from the imported Event. All the editing has to be done in the Project - not the Event.
You will now see a green bar (ribbon) beneath the clip thumbnails, representing the inserted audio. If you click on the small waveform icon at the lower right below the Project thumbnails panel, the audio waveforms will appear (coloured light and medium blue).
You can slide the audio back and forth. You can trim the ends by hovering the playhead (red vertical line) over either end of the green bar until you see a cross-hair icon - click and drag inwards or outwards (subject to audio being available at either end). You can also click on the small gear icon at the start of the audio track and select Clip Trimmer - here you can trim the ends by dragging the yellow handles whilst viewing the corresponding video.
You can split the audio - place the playhead at the proposed split point on the highlighted audio track, right-click (or Control-click) and select Split Clip from the pop-up menu.
If you click on the small gear icon at the start of the track, you can select the Clip Inspector. Click on Audio Adjustments. Otherwise just double-click the green bar and select Audio from the Inspector. In the Inspector you have many choices for editing audio, such as, volume levels, ducking, fading, enhancement, equalizer settings and so on.
You can mute the original audio by double-clicking the video track (or using the gear icon), then reducing the volume in the Inspector's Audio tab. Another way is to use the Ducking feature. Open the Inspector for your added audio track and move the Ducking slider to the zero position - this will mute all other tracks running in parallel with the track you've inserted.
You can easily fade audio tracks in and out without using the Inspector. Open the waveforms by clicking on the waveform icon (as described earlier). At each end of an audio track you will see a small greyish coloured box as you hover over that area. Click and drag as far as you want to create an audio fade. As you do this you will see the waveforms drop in volume.
You can also select sections of audio in the audio track. In the bottom half of the audio track (with waveforms selected) click and drag to surround the selection with a yellow border. Now you can click on the volume line to adjust the volume up or down for that section. Drag the yellow dots to extend or reduce the fade on either side of the selection.
Hope this helps! I think I've covered the essentials.

Troubles importing and linking media in CS5.5
I am using CS5.5 and having trouble importing media. Importing .mpg or .VOB files (~30mins length, 1GB size) and both cause Prem to hang and not respond. I can leave it for half an hour and still no progress. However, when using a different computer, no troubles.
This is a clean install of CS5.5. Have cleared media cache.
Anyone help?System Information

Im having trouble importing mov files into premiere pro on creative cloud, original problem was no video and only audio when I imported mov file, so I have installed quicktime after reading that may solve the problem, but now an error message reads codec missing or unavailable, any help would be appreciated
MOV is a wrapper... what is inside the wrapper?
Codec & Format information, with 2 links inside to read
-read both links in reply #1 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

Trouble Importing Frames into AC CS4 9.02.42
Good afternoon,
I am having trouble importing the frames for a project into AE CS4, and it seems to be an issue with After Effects remembering a previous attempt and importing these files.
The first time I tried ti import this project, I hadn't realized that the initially copy of the data from the external drive to my project drive ( internal SATA 1 TB drive) had gotten corrupted becuase Soundbooth had locked up and I had to hard shut down the system while the copy was processing ( lesson learned, never try and start editing Audio on a project while the video frames are still copying to the drive) and AE opened all the files on the drive and then generated an error because the last frames were corrupt. I deleted the folder on the project drive and recopied the project over from the external drive and let it finish before I tried anything on the system. I have verified all the frames are intact now on the project drive, I have used Purge All on AE, but when ever I try to import the files into AE, it still stops at frame 32767 and doesnt load the rest of the video. I need to be able to load all 53813 frames so I can work on this project. I even renamed the prefix on the files and attempted to load them again, and still it stops at frame 32767.
Is there a way I am missing to completely purge any history lists, temp files, etc, with Adobe Premiere CS4 and AfterEffects CS4 ?
I can import a 79 GB uncompressed AVI just fine no issues, so I know it is not a system resources problem, I am on Vista 64 with 8 gb of RAM and loads of free hard drive space.
Does anyone have anyideas how to resolve this and what I can do to fix AE so it will import this entire project? I still have to import the second have of the project too which is another half hour worth of frames.
Thank you,
JeffI wonder if the 64 bit version of AfterEffects CS5 will remove that limitation?
Why should it? You are confusing things here (no offense). This has nothing to do with how much memory AE can handle or any of that, it's good old 16bit integer code that handles the numbering calculations. This is certainly an issue just as deep as the memory handling itself and bound to cause a ton of compatibility problems with older versions, so any change on that end will have to be weighed carefully before changing it. I wouldn't keep my hopes up for any soon-ish action on that end, as certainly it is not the highest priority for 99% of users that only ever handle short sequences...

I'm having trouble importing a ISO. I've created 3 others, I can ping both OVM and OVS from each other, I've verified ftp from a browser both on the OVM, and a 3rd machine, I've tried importing into 2 repositories, one that's empty. I've had troubles with iptables blocking ports, I've made sure that's turned off as well.
Here's the error message

Stutter while importing dv (also while importing audio in DP or garageband)
Hello,
I am having trouble importing video into iMovie, or audio into Digital Performer or Garageband. I was importing a lot of audio in DP and it was working fine, then suddenly I started to hear occasional pops/clicks that increased over time. I tried garageband, same problem. And I got what seems to be a related problem importing DV tapes into iMovie, some stuttering in the video/audio.
I tried resetting the PRAM and SMC and repaired disk permissions, no change.
Any ideas? Thank you so much.Hi
My first thoughts.
• Free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk less than 25GB (much less than)
• More than 50 audio clips - Medicine. Mix audio down to one clip
• Use of external hard disk - USB/USB2 and may be wrongly formatted
Lot's of video-clips - is not the origin - I've had movie projects up to and more of 6 hours
(Copied back to VHS-tapes - No stutter) (Maraton Vacation movies - nobody can stand to view)
(Ponder why)

New to Logic Express 9
I tried this for the first time last night and had some trouble. A bass track imported...looked like a bass instrument but sounded like an overhead drum mic??? I just clicked "Import Audio Files" and went directly to the CD. These were wav files so I'm thinking it is a coversion issues. Checked the file with Itunes and it's definitely a bass track. What's the best way to accomplish this import?
ThanksIt's becoming obvious that the program has become corrupted in some way. I have a session that I closed in good shape only to find the next time I opened it that all the sends were activated and even after turning all the sends off I'm still getting bleed from two or three tracks in a single track.
In this current session I tried muting the problem bass track and dragging it again from the audio bin into another track. This time it's got sax on it although visually the wav looks the same as the original bass track.
I guess I'll have to call Apple Care...jeeze!

Trouble With Audio Coming Out of Sync
I am having trouble with audio sync
I am using .mov files of myself talking however I also record audio of myself talking as well. The audio files record as mp3 however I convert them to aiff files in order to better synch them in FCP
I have an audio sound as an in point in order to better sync them and the syncing is perfect when i start.
My files are about an hour and a half long and 20 minutes or so the audio starts to come out of sync and my mouth becomes a half second or so behind the audio. I record this audio live so there is no delay between my speaking and my recording voice but the longer the video goes the more out of sync I become.
My syncing method that I use is "Merge Clips" at the in points.
Has anyone else experienced this? All sorts of things you can do.
Easiest fix is just to run down your timeline and every few minutes snip the audio and move it back into sync.
Now after that;""
Qe have no idea what your process was. We assume you're editing in Final Cut. How did you import your footage? What format is it in the browser?
what are the settings of your timeline? Look at the sequence settings.
You know that you can plug audio from
mic into a Zi8?
You need to get rid of the mixer hum. Likely ac electrical
interference , a ground fault, but who knows. -
Sony F65 footage import audio error
Hello to everyone
I'm having some trouble importing F65 footage into Premiere CC. The think is I import the MXF image file and it works fine but it doesn't work the same way with the sound. I suppose the MXF .XMP are the audio files so I tried to open them with Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, VLC but it keeps dropping generic error.
I also tried converting the footage with some converters I found around but still nothing.
Any idea? Please! The file should be installed or placed in the following path.
Mac:
/Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.app/Contents/Plug-Ins/Common
Win:
C:\Program files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6\Plug-Ins\Common
