Trouble importing p2 in FCP 7. Please help.

I have upgraded to FCP 7 and now I cannot import p2 files.. What can I do to fix this?

I guess this is a commom problem. It´s the same problem on all our Macs (Mac Pros, MacBook Pros). I can see all the clips in the Log&Transfer window and play the clips. But when I try to import them the progressbar will not start, and after a few seconds I´m getting a !-sign in the status.

I am trying to import some .mov files into Final Cut Pro X. The files were originally .RTS, shot from a Canon XHA1 in 1080i, I converted them to .mov using SmartConverter and they play absolutely fine in Quicktime. However, when I import them into FCP X, the audio plays fine, but the video just shows a black screen. The codecs of the .mov files are standard H.264/AAC. My other .mov files (from the same camera that were shot in 1080p instead of 1080i) import fine into FCP.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

P2 Footage Importing as white frame. Please help!

I know, I know. There's a million postings on this, but I haven't found one that addresses my problem exactly.
When I open the files in the Log and Transfer window, it won't let me play the clips in the preview window. Then, when I click to import, and it finishes, all I get is a white screen when I open it in FCP. Next to the files, in the L&T window is a half dark circle.
Two weeks ago, I edited a project using footage from the HVX and had no problem importing. Now, when I open THAT project, all I get are white screens and the error message:
"Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card."
Now, again, I just used this computer two weeks ago to edit a project, so I'm wondering if it was a system or software update that is now effecting it.
I'm on FCO 6.0.6, on Leopard, running on Mac OS X 10.5.8 Intel Xeon, Quad Core with 8 GB of memory.
Please help!

Reinstall FCP. And the updates if needed. Sounds like some codecs went missing or went bad. for best results, run the FCS Remover, then install. ONLY the FCP application...

I need help with Importing songs into Creative organizer please help!

OK now i have a bunch of music files in my documents that all have MPEG4 with the itunes music symbol next to them. My problem is when i try to add them to my Windows media player nothing happens also when i search for the files in the Creative Import Wizard nothing shows up! Do i first need to put all the music i want on my ZVM im Windows Media Player first then add it's or is it something else? do i need to get rid of itunes entirely and just have the music files in my documents? Im really really confused please help!!!!!! Also No tracks show up when i try to add them to Windows Media Player or Creative MediaSource5 even though when i know i put them there

I recently changed from IE to Mozilla. I imported all my bookmarks to Mozilla but can't add new bookmarks to imported bookmarks. Can someone please help me?

I have used IE browser for many years and have collected hundreds of Bookmarks there. I recently changed over to Mozilla browser and imported all my Bookmarks to Mozilla from IE. The problem is whenever I try to add a new Bookmark to the Bookmarks I imported from IE it won't allow me to add new Bookmarks there. It only allows me to add a new Bookmark to Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar, Unsorted Bookmarks, or create a new folder. It doesn't give me an option of adding new Bookmarks to the Bookmarks I imported from IE. I would like to keep all my Bookmarks in order and not have to switch back and forth from new Mozilla Bookmarks and the Bookmarks I imported from IE. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

Having trouble with DVD Video files. Please Help! :)

Hi I recently got a film DVD I wanted to take a clip off. However although I can watch the section I want in Windows Media Player, when I import the film into Premiere - some of it is missing! there are 4 files '4-1',4-2','4-3',4-4' which make up the movie. I can load them all in but 4-3 is missing the last 15-20 minutes, even though I know its there - cos this file is the same size as the previous one which is full length. Does anyone know why this would be? The DVD is unencrypted.
Please help - its quite annoying that the small section of film I want is the bit that won't appear! Thank you very much

I was assuming that it was not protected. However, as you point out, some aspects might be, and the OP might not be completely aware of this.
If there is protection, I strongly urge anyone to respect that, regardless of their intended use of the material. Copy protection is there for a very good reason. Regardless of what one might be able to do, they should be 100% ethical, and honor any/all copy protection. This is true for material from a videographer, or from a commercial studio. Should you need to use the material in such a DVD-Video, you should contact the author to get first permission, and then the original source material, that has not undergone the MPEG-2 compression to DVD-Video.
Again, I assume that the OP knows that this is NOT an issue, and will not figure into the problem. In that case, all above does NOT apply in this case, but some other reader might make note of it.

After interrupting iPhotos import to mac from iPhone, it is not allowing me to shut down computer as it says 'Importing photos from library' i also cannot import photos from phone! Please help, VERY frustrating. Thanks.

After recently purchasing a mac i decided to upload my photos from my iPhone to iPhoto. I accidentally disconnected the charger and now whenever i click 'import photos' it tells me that iPhoto is 'importing photos to library' which i can tell you it is not. because the phone is not connected and it has been doing it for days now.i tried to force quit and it hasn't work. It won't let me shut the computer down now either as it thinks it is currently importing something so i have to wait for the computers battery to die which is ridiculous. Becoming increasingly frustrated with this problem and not sure where else to turn. Please help. Thanks, Neil.

If the  ➙ Force Quit method won't let you shutdown iPhoto try this command in the Terminal:
killall iPhoto
followed by the Return or Enter key
It might take more than one go for it to take.
Failing that close all other applications and hold the power button down until the computer shuts down. Reboot and try iPhoto again.

Order of tunes in library when importing is driving me nuts please help me!

Can somebody PLEASE help me....when I import albums into the library/ playlists it stores all the first tracks, then all the 2nd tracks, then all the 3rd tracks, and so on....like 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 and so on, down the list, and plays them in that order too. Extemeley annoying...can anyone help me rectify this problem?

I made a java class named GetOS which contains a method that return th OS name. Then I deployed this class to a Jar file called tarek.jar.
now I need to import this jar file in my form
i'm using forms9i release2
I did the following:
I copied "tarek.jar" to \\developerhome\forms90\java\
then I opend the forms builder - program-import java class but my jar file "tarek" doesn't exist in the list.

I solved this problem. I editing the class path of the system control panel>system>advanced and it works fine
Now i can import my class easly without any problems
But when the forms builder imported my class , it generates a pl/sql package which contains a function with the same name of the method i did in my class.The problem is I do not know how to call this function

Render Farm for FCP 7 PLEASE HELP ASAP!

I have been searching all day for a way to get a render farm going on FCP. Problem is, any of the places that have any type of remote answer are from at least a year ago, and apply to FCP 6.
I have no experience with setting up a render farm, but I need to render out a lot of footage with effects ASAP to meet a deadline.
If anyone out there could A. tell me if it's even possible to set up a render farm on FCP 7, and B. how to do it, in dummy's guide terms, because I am setting this up for the first time in desperation.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Trouble starting up for various reasons, please help!!

Hello, I have a macbook pro, and am having some really strange trouble with it.
First, it was telling me my password was incorrect, which it absolutely was not. THe only way I can be so sure of this is because I was reformatting my iPod, and in doing so, it asked me to enter my password to grant permission for the reformatting, which I did, and it worked fine. shortly after wiping the iPod, my computer died. I came back to it, and booted it up to the login screen - at this point in time, it was refusing to accept my password as correct. I tried caps lock, no caps, tried to let it die, restart, etc. etc.
Eventually I was led here, where I found a series of posts with the same problem, and one suggested to type in a script through terminal before the computer was fully booted. It was basically a script to access the password keychain, and update it from there. I put in the script, and restarted my computer. However, this time, instead of going to a login screen like it normally does, it went to a language selection screen, similar to the one you see when you first install the OS. So it prompted me "please select what language you would like to use this software." I clicked English, the dialog box went away for a moment, just to pop up again, and this is where i'm at now. Over and over it will continually just revery back to this screen, not allowing me to do anything.
So this is where I need your help. My CD drive doesn't work, or else I would have just booted from my disk. If there's anyway I can avoid formatting my computer, that would obviously be the more desirable route. To make things perhaps more complicated, i'm not entirely sure which exact operating system I am running, which i'm sure doesn't help. Although I believe it's Snow Leopard.

you do not want to install the operating system at this point anyway. i hope that this is the 10.3 (panther) install disk you are booted too. very bad if it isn't. go up to the installer menu and select "open disk utility". then see if the macintosh hd is visible there. if so, select it, and then "first aid", and then "repair disk". if it is not visible, reset the pmu http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449 (your model should be listed there for instructions) and try disk repair again. let us know how it is going. Trouble opening ipod users guide. PLEASE HELP.

ive spent my entire christmas trying to find information for using my ipod nano. i am aware of the users guide but when i open it it does NOTHING. when i downloaded the guide after it had finished when i opened the file, it had originaly said i needed to pick a program to run the guide, so i chose itunes?..after that didnt work i tried opening it using internet explorer, microsoft word, notepad...everything!..nothing is working for me. im so confused. please please help me before i throw this nano AND my p.c..at my wall.

If you are talking about the itunes user guide then it should open with the itunes itself. Else if you are reffering to Ipod features guide which is a PDF file you can open it simply by Adobe acrobat reader. If you dont have it then you can download it from www.adobe.com

Troubles with my ichat? someone please help me

I have gotten my Mac about 3 days ago, and when i started it up i set up my account and everything. I've been trying to get on Ichat but it won't let me and it is really starting to frustrate me so someone please help me.
its saying I'm logged in, but when i click "available" it is telling me to put a password in when i do it is telling me i am incorrect.
i have already tried to go to the keylock access and nothing is there. i would really like to be able to use ichat before i just so happen to return it. if someone could please help me that would be just awesome.. the sooner the better, thank you !
