Trouble importing with Epson Perfection 3200 to Photoshop 7.0

Photoshop 7.0 imported the first image very red. Then it wouldn't import saying "Could not complete the import command because of a problem with the aquisition module interface". How can I fix this problem. I am using Windows XP, Photoshop 7.0, and Epson Perfection 3200 Photo, trying to scan a color photo.

Thank you John,
It doesn't let me use Epson Scan at all. The software won't even start. I called Epson today, but it seems that it's a Microsoft problem with the imaging aquisition (?). So I'll spend another day on the phone with them tomorrow.

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro.  Why can't I see my scanner (Epson Perfection 3200 Photo) from the File>Import menu?

There was no driver update available (it said my driver was up to date), so I just deleted the scanner and restarted the computer.  when it came up, the scanner had already been added again.  With great anticipation I tried to import from Photoshop...but no luck (scanner was not visible).  I finally ended up calling Epson (had great difficulty in locating a number for support) and they finally told me there is no driver update for OS X 10.10 and I should as a work around use "Image Capture" application.  I tried it, and it works quite well.

  • OS 10.4.4 + Photoshop Elements 2.0 + Epson Perfection 3200 Photo Scanner

i have an epson perfection 3200 photo scanner which had worked fine importing into photoshop elements 2.0 when i had an imac g3, but i cannot get it to work on my new machine, a powerbook g4 using 10.4.4. epson said it should work (i downloaded the most recent driver) but adobe said that 10.4.4 does not support photoshop elements 2.0 or 3.0. i downloaded 3.0 (they have a month trial) and it acknowledged my scanner for a second but then repeated the error message.
    any thoughts?
    thanks.

Further to Barbara's suggestions, have you tried uninstalling your scanner and then disconnecting it physically from your PB. Then reinstall the scanner software and any updated drivers with the scanner still disconnected. Then reconnect the USB to the scanner and see whether you have better success. Epson scanners can be fussy (shy?) about being recognised, and I used these steps when I "lost" my Epson 3170 when moving to 10.3.x.
Barbara is absolutely right about PS Elements 2 and 10.4.4 - I'm also using it regularly with no problems. Since you got it to work with your previous computer and OS, you can also get it to work with your new PB and 10.4.4 - it just may need a little coaxing...

  • Photoshop CS4 - TWAIN driver for my Epson Perfection 3200 scanner

I have been attempting to find, download and install a version of the TWAIN driver for the Epson Perfection 3200 Photo scanner.  I need a version that will work with the Mac OSX 10.6.7 operatinging system and Adobe Photoshop CS4.  I have already exhausted all efforts to get an appropriate driver from Epson and they suggested I see if Adobe didn't have one that would install into the Import/Export folder of CS4.  Can you help?
    Thanks......Karol Rice Photography

the search here is (was?) really bad but google gives you a back door:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=twain+cox+forums.adobe.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.m ozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
pay close attention to what Chris Cox writes
    Short answer:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405072.html
forget twain and scanning through Photoshop (keep working in Photoshop while you scan by scanning in the manufacturer's scanning app, or try VUESCAN free scanning software)
note that Ps runs in 64 bit by default and many scanner plugins conflict because they are 32bit and buggy so if your scanner pluging is 32 bit, you need to run Ps in 32 bit if you want to the TWAIN door (again, not recommended, and it's been discussed here many times, probably why your post hit air)

  • Just bought a new imac with OS 10.10.2- now I have a problem. Cant' use my printer (Epson Stylus 1280, or my tablet Intuos 3, or my scanner Epson Perfection 3200- can't get new drivers and can't afford to replace with new.

Trying to find an affordable answer. My Epson stylus photo 1280 printer is not compatible with Yosemite, neither is my Intuos 3 tablet or my Epson perfection 3200 photo scanner. I need to find second hand options.
What are the options without buying all new everything? What models and drivers are available that are compatible with Yosemite OS 10.10.2?

I know I have to give up on the printer and scanner- but I am going to try to find something to keep my tablet going for awhile.
Are you actually reading the responses that people are giving you?
    1. Your printer will work with Gutenprint support, possibly will work with 10.9 drivers.
    2. Epson has a scanner Yosemite driver for your scanner.
    3. And Wacom has a driver for your tablet.
You have no reason to be that miserable, all things considered.

  • Install Epson Perfection 3200 Photo Scanner

My kernel is a custom built 2.6.3. I am trying to install an Epson Perfection 3200 Photo Scanner. It works under SuSE8.2 so there is no fundamental hardware problem. The sane website lists the 3200 as completely supported.
The system recognizes the scanner, as shown in part of cat /proc/bus/usb/devices:
    D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
    P: Vendor=04b8 ProdID=011c Rev= 1.02
    S: Manufacturer=EPSON
    S: Product=EPSON Scanner
    C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA
    I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)
    E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
    E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
    The program sane-find-scanner produces:
    found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x011c) at libusb:001:003
    # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
    # SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.
    The program scanimage -L produces:
No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).
The problem appears to be that the system cannot find a driver. Is the driver suppose to come from sane and there is a configuration issue? Is the system suppose to find the driver as a module or compiled-in the kernel? Is there some wild and wonderful dev - devsfs issue?
Any intel (small i) would be most appreciated.
    Rick

the generic usb scanner module is no longer in the kernel. any scanner that used it mus use libusb now. to do this first remove any entry you have in any module loading files that load that module.
next add either one of these lines to your fstab:
    none /proc/bus/usb/ usbfs defaults 0 0
    or
    none /proc/bus/usb/ usbdevfs defaults 0 0
but going by your output so far you would seem to have one of these two lines in fstab.
anyway either one of those lines will give root only access to your scanner so you will need to give your user access to the device. your can do that in a few ways.
first you can create a group add your user to it then edit your usbfs line to read:
    none /proc/bus/usb/ usbfs rw,mode=666,gid=<--newgroupnamehere--> 0 0
or if you have a single user you can edit the line to read:
    none /proc/bus/usb/ usbfs defaults,mode=666 0 0
if this does not work read up on hotplug or add this line to you rc.local:
    chown -R <yourusername>.users /proc/bus/usb/xxx/*
where the "xxx" represents the three digit number directory in /proc/bus/usb/ that represents your scanner. you can find this by running scanimage -L as root and it will give you two three digit numbers in the output. then look in the number directory/directories for those two numbers and that will be the directory you put in for the xxx.

  • Problems with Epson perfection 4490 color profiles using photoshop cs6

I have some items that I wanted to scan with Adobe RGB color profile, with my Epson perfection 4490 scanner. I am on a mac using mac os 10.7 lion.
I go into the configuration settings in Epson scan & set it to colorsync, & choose Adobe RGB, then I scan. I checked epsons website for current drivers, & I have current drivers.
when I open up my scanned images in photoshop CS5, & CS6, & go to convert to profile, (to check what profile the scanner used), it shows the color source space as sRGB. I go to the file save as, in photoshop, & it only shows sRGB as the color profile to save in.
what is happening? why wont my scanner use Adobe RGB? is there something in photoshop settings I need to adjust? I have never had this problem before.

try downloading the iPHOTO TUTORIAL TEST IMAGES a bit below this link
and dragging the tagged & untagged sets into your various web browsers, image browsers, applications...
the iPhoto download contains a low-resolution reference image in five colorspaces (10 .jpg files, five tagged and five untagged versions of the same image) in sRGB, WhackedRGB, AppleRGB, ProPhotoRGB, AdobeRGB

  • Using PSE13 with Epson Perfection V600 Scanner

I own an Epson Perfection V600 scanner and have always preferred the TWAIN driver (see TWAIN not installed | Photoshop Elements 9 and later) over WIA. Since installing PSE13 64 Bit I no longer have Adobe's TWAIN driver.
I recommend using Epson's latest scan utility (last update 7/29/13), running it independently of PSE13, and importing into PSE13 later. The quality is much better than WIA.

Seems the problem was a conflict with another program I have. The Epson software installed after I resolved the problem. I do wish the Epson support people knew more about their software since they were no help at all.

  • Trouble Printing with Epson RX700

Loaded 10.6 and new Epson drivers. Rx700 has front and back paper trays. Word and Excel printed to the front try, but Safari would only print to back try, regardless of setting. 10.6.1 allowed me to print to front tray, but it seems like the system default is to the rear, regardless of how setup is set. Even if setup says the front tray is selected, you must still select it again when printing, or documents are sent to back. Epson says it's an Apple issue. Anyone solved this problem?

Same issues here on my MacPro Tower running Snow Leopard 10.6.2. Wasted several hours on the phone with Epson. Their tech support for Apple Mac has gone downhill in the past several years. I've owned about FIVE Epson inkjets, so I know. Phone support is outsourced to some other country, after wasting an hour on a horrible connection to who knows where, the level #1 tech support finally gave me tech level #2, who was more aware of the driver issues, to which I suggested they all SHARE their notes so as NOT to waste anyone else's time.
First sign of DUMB, is the supposed "Snow Leopard" combo driver package offered on the Epson site. Listed as 70 mb's, it's less then 50 mb's, misinformation begins. Look closely ALL the packages are simply the drivers and scanner apps from 2-3 years ago, those ones worked under TIGER OS, and are certainly NOT updated for Snow Leopard. Now let's get really DUMB, and when you mount the "combo" disk image, you find a package installer that is a PPC app! The online docs say this updater is for you "INTEL" mac. Granted some PPC apps will run, this one for me was a HUGE problem. Opening multiple windows, unable to even click in the duplicate boxes to type my password to proceed. Why Epson is still using VISE installers that were horrible under OS9, terrible under TIGER, is beyond me. This combo package offers NO choices and begins to install the outdated freebie software from Epson, when what I wanted to do was upgrade the print drivers.
So heres the deal, you can D/L the OLD 3.01 drivers separately from the same site page, but ALL the real print options are "crossed out", which means to me, NOT compatible, and rendering the EXPENSIVE RX700 printer USELESS.
So I ended up downloading the Apple Epson drivers using "Software Update". Now you end up with driver version 8.0.7. This stumped the wonderful Epson support staff, since they said they don't write the "apple epson drivers", but this driver gives you back the drop down for the actual printer settings. And the phone techie ended up putting me on hold about four times, and then said she was told I should stick to that driver by someone higher up in support. Go figure, the Apple driver is better, but the BUG reported here, is making it less then ideal.
If I try to print out a photo in Preview, the printer gives me the error message "No Paper in Back". I have to DELETE the print job and most of the time restart the printer as well. Epson had NO clue about it, and since Snow Leopard has been out for sometime I don't expect much relief, though I do urge folks to call them and report it otherwise we may NEVER see another driver as they are still pushing the several years old ones we had before. Not sure I'll buy anymore Epson printers, they mostly cater to the Windows buyers now, just like Sony. Epson Tech support phone number: 562-276-4382. Good luck to all, we'll need it.

  • Trouble printing with Epson 2880 and SL

Installed SL on my MBP but not my iMac yet as it is my main computer for printing with Aperture. I have been very happy with the 2880 and how well the prints match what I see on the screen (calibrated with i1d2). Well with SL I downloaded rosetta and the new 2880 drivers (as instructed by Epson), but whenever I choose a paper profile e.g., Premium Photo Glossy, the picture in Aperture Print Pane turns a purple hue. I, of course, have color management turned off in the Print Settings dialog. Anyone have any idea what is going on? As far as I can tell I'm not doing anything differently. More importantly, has anyone been able to get good photo printing with SL, Aperture and the new Epson drivers for the 2880 or similar Epson printer?
    Thanks, Jim

That KB article just saved me from going back to 10.5. I was having the same purple problem with all Ilford and Hahnemuhle profiles.
That problem is now gone (by just disabling Black Point Compensation) but: when trying to print from Aperture (2.1.4) with my R2880, any paper I choose is apparently stuck at +roll paper+, giving a +wrong source+ error when it reaches the printer. I now have to hit preview, select the correct page setup and profile and print from there. So far this seems to work. But it's a pain and not what I want to be stuck doing for very long.
I had this problem before but only when printing to Manual-Roll. Now even Sheet Feeder options don't work. This would all be fixed if we only had a proper Page Setup option in Aperture as in every other OS X application...
At least that convoluted method gives me the right colors - which I was definitely not getting by going the system managed route.
    Growing pains anyone?

  • Trouble importing with the Sony DSC-P150

This is not exclusive to iPhoto 6 (It happened in prior versions too). The DSC-P150 is only picked up by iPhoto after a rstart of my G5 PM. If I resatart my computer and then plug the Sony in via the usb port it will activate iPhoto with the option to import the photos as it should and always had with my previous Canon camera. If I then take a couple more photos with the Sony and plug it back into the usb port it doesn't automatically open iPhoto Unless I disconnect the camera, restart the computer, and then reconnect. I don't like needing to restart to get iPhoto to recognize my camera?

    Any responses?

  • Trouble Importing with Canon Camera

I am trying to import some photos from a friend's camera and when I plug in the camera with iphoto open I get the spinning rainbow circle for a while and then nothing. I can't figure out what's happening and why the photos aren't importing. I've tried 2 USB ports and the same thing happens. Any suggestions?

Can you import them without any application open?

  • Problem using Epson V600 scanner in Photoshop CS2

The scanner opens its dialogue window, no problem.  I can do a Preview scan without any problem, but when I request a Scan, this progresses properly, but the resultant scan is presented in the Photoshop workspace on top of the Epson dialogue windows.  At this point all of the Photoshop features are greyed-out so that I cannot move the scanned image to close down the Epson windows.   The only way I can make progress is to minimise Photoshop, close the Epson windows and then maximise Photoshop again.
Previously I had an Epson Perfection 3200 scanner which always maintained the scanner windows on top - and so could be closed with a click.
Is there any way to keep the Epson Scanner windows on-top and automatically send the scanned image to the back on Photoshop CS2?    This should be simple, but I have tried most things.
