Trouble in detction of nokia 5130 Express in Vista

Hi i hv installed pc suit 7.1... on my lapptop with vista on it, but when i plug in the cellphone it says error in installing some driver. and the phone reads "host not responding".
Please help

im running Vista Ultimate & ive the same driver problem, its detects it but when asking 2unstal the driver it said
"Windows encontered a problem installing the driver software for your device"
knowing that the windows knows that the device is "Nokia 5130 XPressMusic USB Phone parent"
by the way im using the last Nokia Pc Suite version!!

     Please find the details steps:
     1.connect USB cable to Lap top by connecting cable with Nokia-5130 Express Music in other end.
     2.Now in the phone it shows some message like 'transfering data' after that i used to get message 'Host is not found'
    3.Now change the settings to settings-->connectivity-->USB Data cable-->PC Suite then, pc suite is not enabled in lap top.
   4. Change settings to settings-->connectivity-->USB Data cable-->Datastorage, then pc suite is enabled. but it shows message 'pc suite is connected in non-compatiable mode,please change it from phone UI'.
i am not getting where exactly the problem located..
And one point is, i installed pc suite which i got it with N-72 model. Is there any problem in compatiability of pc suite.. previously i used to use Nokia-N72. that time i did't get any problem.
i have one doubt, when i bought nokia-5130 express music, i didn't get CD seperately.Usually CD will be given or not?

NOKIA 5130 -UNABLE TO CONNECT TO GPRS CONNECTION

I have bought new Nokia 5130 Express Music handset on 26 Dec 2009 and Reliance GSM post paid connection. I have got settings from reliance from GPRS, WAP and MMS setting.
The problem faced is whenever, I connect to opera mini browser, it connecting for 3 minutes and shows failed to connect to the internet. I thought, it is GPRS setting or network problem. But, after lot of enquiry with Reliance, they forwarded the settings.

Port: 8080
Noting works.
Can anyone brief, how to get it right. or shall i have to change the handset.

You have to set up a packet-data (gprs) accesspoint. Contact your service provider or visit their website for the right settings.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic WAP problem

Hello all
I recently purchased a Nokia 5130 XpressMusic which was locked to the UK network "Tesco Mobile". I paid Tesco to unlock my phone so I could use my O2 SIM in it. They unlocked it and my O2 SIM works fine (calls, texts) but the mobile internet and MMS doesn't work.
I contacted O2 to send me the settings. They emailed instructions as to what I should do and I followed them, however, the phone still will not connect to the internet.
O2 said I should do the following (to set up WAP):

I also used the service ConfirgureMyPhone, where they text you the required settings. This did not work either. O2 used to send you the settings but it is down at the moment so you have to do it manually.
Can anyone help? I can't understand why it's not working! I have entered the settings exactly as the instructions said but no joy...

I have tried your suggestion, but the problem still persists! Thank you for giving me your help though. It is much appreciated.
I have called both O2 and Tesco Mobile for assistance but neither could come up with a solution. I had the O2 settings sent to my mobile, but they still do not work. This suggests to me that it is a problem with the phone's firmware? As the phone was originally locked to Tesco (and then unlocked) i'm thinking maybe that the Tesco firmware is stopping me from using any other internet/mms settings on the phone.. Anyone have any thoughts on this theory?
O2 said it sounded like the Tesco firmware causing trouble. Tesco said that it wasn't the firmware causing the trouble. They said they had never head of Tesco firmware interfering when a user was trying to use other settings.
I'm still totally stuck! I am going to try ringing Tesco (who I originally bought the mobile from) and see if they'll replace the handset with a factory unlocked one (which doesn't have branded firmware on it) as this handset (unlocked, but still has Tesco branding) is causing me huge stress!!

Nokia 5130 problems...please help!

hiya i recently updated my Nokia 5130 over-the-air and had no problems so far. then i have downloaded the latest internet settings fro my phone via my network operator. no problem there. but whenever i surf the net or use 3rd-party chat service the internet shuts down and just stops working? why is this? is there a way to use my internet (to surf or chat) seamlessly? (n.b. i have an unlimited internet option on my network account).

you need to call them again the message comes via text its a configuration setting ,then you save this message so call them again

hi all please help in a tricky issue , i have an Nokia 5130 XpressMusic and i try to update the software , of course i make a backup for all contact software profile all in the phone but after updating i loose original profile even aplication like calculator them all , egalizator from media .. all , i try to restore my backup but only restored things are my contact..
please help me to reinstal original software

Hi, you will have to visit a Nokia care point with your device and hopefully they will be able to sort out the issues. There isn't really anything we can help you with here other than suggest a consultation at a NCP.
For some other time I suggest you post a better quality picture. I think I can see the two short cuts you refer to, but Its a bit blurry. Looks like the picture has been taken with a calculator or something

Try to check the saved messages in the sim card. You may also try a power cycle by turning the phone off, removing the battery and pressing the power button without the battery for 8-10 seconds. You can also do a soft reset by pressing Menu > Settings > Rest. factory sett. > Restore settings only so that it will bring back the phone to its original state.

Tsup guys, I`m having this new release of nokia s60 5th edition (Nokia 5800 Express Music) but since I bought it last month I`ve started discover some features are not working as I always used to see them to my previous handset (Nokia n73-1). At my previous nokia n73 when I`m on playing music that I`ve store in my handset and then the I receive the sms message its only makes a light beep sound even if I`m on profile that setted another alter tune for sms but in this nokia 5800 when sms comes in the middle of track playback its pause for a time from plyaing the song then start ring the current profile`s sms alter tune then keep on playing the track. On the side of adding sms recipients, if your forwading an sms to more than one person then you`ve started adding recipients by either searching or scrolling you might face some of the contacts doesn`t appear in your list after adding some others even if you do it by search contacts for typing the first alphabets of the recipients you are searching. So in order to get them you`ve to select OK then select the ADD RECIPIENTS again then you will find the contacts that were not seen before. Lastly, on the message writing. When I use the HANDWRITING style, I can write my things well but still up to know I`ve not yet find the area where I can erase the words that I`ve wrotes. Instead I`m supposed to change the keyboard type so as I can get the erease key. Can anybody help me to locate where can I find the erease key when I`m in mode of HANDWRITING style that uses a given special touch-screen pencil. I`m using it which means I`II keep discover many more things that seems these nokia have lack in this model & if there is anybody else found something please don`t hesitate to contribute here too. Helloo,,,a have buy nokia 5130 xpressmusic,,,but when i want to set pasword on keyboard,,a dont know the master/security codee,,a try most them,,the default 12345,,but doesn't work,,i try with unlock master code,,but still doesn't work,,, does everybody have idea how i can find or change the security codee,,pleaseee i neeeddd helpp

If you bought the phone new and the default 12345 does not work, then the security code should be in the papers you received with the phone or maybe printed on the box.
If you bought it second hand then the previous owner should be able to help you.
Otherwise you'll have to take the phone to your nearest Nokia Care Point with proof that you are its owner (invoice in your name with the phone's IMEI number, and photo ID) and they'll be able to reset the security code for you. Do a backup before having this done because it might entail a full reset of the phone, which will erase all your data.
Alternatively, you could attempt a firmware update with Nokia Software Updater. A firmware update often resets the security code back to the factory default (but not on all models).

Nokia 5130 loss of contact detail

I bought a nokia 5130. Under settings -> security, I set the security level to 'phone'. I then added my contacts. I also added each contact's birthday as additional contact detail. After switching off the phone and switching it on again, I still had my contacts but every contact's birthday was gone. After some time a discovered that by setting the security level to 'none', adding the birthdays again, switching off the phone and on again, the contacts were still there and every thing was allright. This felt like a bug in the firmware. So I would like other people to confirm this. My wife also bought the phone and had exactly the same problem. The phones are running the latest firmware.

i have a similar problem in 6.94 firmware..i bought a new 5130 blue this is my second 5130..i updated the firmware to 6.94 and copy to phonebook to my telephone memory and it restarts automatically like resetting in music player..and all the attached ringtones were lost..then i put them in sim card memory turn off the phone manually and nothing changed..attaches ringtones were there..what is that? a bug of 6.94 or something else?

Unfortunately, the Nokia 5130 is a feature phone (a.k.a, a "dumb" phone). Firefox will currently only run on smart phone devices that operated by Android.
Firefox is compatible with Android 2.1 and above devices with hardware requirements recommending at least 512 MB of RAM.
