Trouble in inserting Sound

Dear Friends
I'm making a presentation in flash so Im using few sounds and music on different key frames. and there is buttons also to jump to next frame.
The problum what im facing is on every button I have different sounds track so once I click next button it goes to next frame and start playing the track on that frame but the previous sound track is also keep running with that till the time it will finish. it has to stop once I click for next track.

What operating system? What version of InDesign? What happens when you insert a page (and how are you choosing to insert a page)? Does it happen with just one file, or does also happen on a clean new file?

You didn't mention what those "other functions" were. That might help!
First thing to check is System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab - make sure "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" is un-checked. Hopefully that still works in Mountain Lion.

Insert sound file into Oracel DB via Forms 6i

by the way - just for info : Sound-Items in Forms 6i can't be migrated to 10g. They are now obsolet.
So, the best way is to develop in 6i a solution based on java. Then you use it and communicate with it per java bean.

First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Trouble getting any sound out of new Mac Pro

I recently bought a new Mac Pro and I've been having trouble getting any sound out of the internal speaker. I believe it thinks that there are always headphones plugged in even when there aren't. I don't get a startup sound and it doesn't make the "volume change quack" when I change the volume. The choices under the Sound panel for Output are: "Headphones", "Line Out", and "Digital Out" even if no headphones are plugged in. Sometimes I can get sound out of the computer if I jiggle around a headphone plug in the jack but as soon as I reboot or the machine wakes up from sleep the sound goes away.
I'm guessing that it's probably a bad headphone jack but before I inevitably have to lug the 60 pound machine to the Genius Bar I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else has had similar issues and if there might be a quick fix to do myself.

Trouble-shooting no sound through the right side of Apple earphones with remote...

Hope this story of trouble-shooting this problem helps someone in the future.
For some strange reason, when I listened to a podcast using the Music app through the Apple earphones with remote on my iPhone 4, the right side has no sound. However, when I pull the earphone plug out one notch, I get sound from both sides, but the remote controls no longer work. At that point, I was sure I had a hardware problem, but where it lay-- earphones or iPhone 4, I didn't know.
1. For my first step, I tried the earphones with another iPhone 4, and got the exact same results. That convinced me that it was a problem with the earphones, but then I tried them on our iPad and they worked fine!
2. That ruled out the earphones and got me wondering if both iPhone 4's earphone jacks were flakey or misbehaving. I had read about the old fuzz in the jack problem, so I used an air blower to clean it out, but it made no difference. I still figured that maybe both jacks were stressed in some way, although two of them?
3. Then I read that some people found different apps worked--and even specifically that running Skype could solve things. That didn't work. However, it led me to try various streaming apps (e.g., Portal to the Universe, NPR) and everything was fine-- sound from both sides and remote controls fully functional.
At that point, I was convinced there was something odd going on with the Music app.
4. Finally, it occurred to me to try other podcasts-- and even other episodes of the particular podcast. They all worked fine.
So, it ended up being one particular podcast-- and, while I still do not know why, it means that the earphones, the headphone jack, the iPhones are all in fine shape! Yay!
In any event, the bottom-line is that it's really smart to consider *all* the variables that could be affecting the situation--especially the most obvious ones that you wouldn't even think about it. As it turned out, in my case, I had tested the very same podcast on both iPhones, so no wonder I got the very same results!

I think you're right-- however, I always thought that mono recordings played through both ears--always worked that way on my old stereo system!
This podcast does that, too, but only if one pulls the plug out a bit! That's what's confusing to me. Why does it change from both ears to only one ear depending on far the plug is pushed in? (And especially as it behaves opposite what one would expect-- both ears when not plugged in all the way-- only 1 when fully embedded!)

Toshiba laptop to TV -trouble with the sound

Hi,
i've hooked up my laptop (running Windows 7) to my TV with RGA and audio cables. The picture is fine and the sound comes through the TV. The trouble is that I cannot get the sound to stop on the laptop without is also stopping on the TV.
Would appreciate any ideas.

Make sure you're using the headphone port and not the line-out port on the laptop.

Inserting sounds on a webpage

I am trying to set up a page with several different sound files on it. I want the user to be able to click on - something, maybe an image - and for a sound to play, without leaving the page. I have tried inserting several flash options. They either take me to a blank page and leave me or they start playing the sound when the page opens. I have also tried the behaviors options but although I have selected the behavior to be triggered onClick, it insists on attaching it to onFocus, then plays when the page opens. Any helpful suggestions are gratefully accepted. I know this is a simple thing to do.

Sorry. The way in which browsers handle file downloads depends entirely on the end-user's browser settings. It's out of your control.
I think you could get the sound effects you want using Swishmax2 or SwishMini.

Having trouble with the sound!!!

Recently I'm having trouble with the way the music played by the iTunes sounds! I first thought I have moved the equalizer's settings but I didn't. Music sounds funny with echo.... I'm sure that's a problem of the iTunes because I have played the same song using Windows Media player and it sounds fine! Can someone help me please???!!!!

You went to System Preferences (The Square grey icon with an Apple and Lightswitch or from the Blue apple menu top left) ?
Form the List of Preference Panes you choose Sound far right of the second row ?
And the Sound Effects tab in there ?
There should be a volume control for them in there and it need moving to the right.

Hi, I am suddenly having trouble with getting sound on any small video clip or webinars..

I have run the trouble shooter and it can't find any problems..I can use Skype OK and my virus control speaks to me. The sound is up full on the desktop and on any clips or webinars but still no sound. Very frustrating..anybody any idea ?? thanks

Having trouble with my sound

My volume control seems to be disabled. I recieve no sound from my speakers , but when headphones are plugged in i regain access to volume control and sound plays in headphones. Is there a way to disable the headphone jack it seems like it has taken over the sound so that my speakers wont play anything?

I'm not certain that I understand the benefit. If the internal speakers of the MBP are working, by not inserting an earphone jack will not trip the internal switch. When you remove the earphone jack, the switch is supposed to trip and the speakers should be again working. It's analogous to a wall light switch, if you don't want light, leave the switch alone.
Bottom line there is no way to 'disable' it.

Trouble with imported sound also going to IDVD

I imported some video and it was fine...then I imported another clip and placed it in front of the first clip. Suddenly that first clip has no sound. It is on the same audio track and the volume is clicked. i can hear the second clip fine.
Also...I have a great deal of trouble with the digital tape looking fine on the camera, but then all jumpy and the picture is all digital screwy when its imported to imovie.
When createing a new IDVD project, is there anyway to create a new on rather than just opening up the last one I was working one? That feature is all annoying and cause me to create duplicates of the work, eating up my precious space!

I would honestly like to know why it would not work to just use the exported video from FCE into iDvD, there should be no aspect change in my case. The source in in 720x480. I also would have thought that FCE would be set up to transfer to dvd since much of what is done will need to be shown on that format?
Anamorphicizer did not work for me!!
myDvdedit I have not tried yet as looks to be too many steps to be practical.
I suppose I will try QTpro.

Meeting trouble when inserting a record into dababase using JDBC.

Hi, everyone!
If I want to insert a record in a table of a database, but I
do not know whether there is already a primary key existing in
the database (I mean the value of the record which I want to insert
conflicting, i.e. duplicating, with one of the value of primary
key in the database). So, I have two solutions:
1. check whether there is already a primary key which confilcting
with the value I want to insert, if not, insert into database.
2. do not do any check before and insert the record directly, and catch
SQLException.
But they both have shortcomings. Solution 1 will lost time (must checking first)
and solution 2 will throw a SQLException, and from the Exception, I do not know
how can I infer it is a primary key conflicting exception.
(I do not know how to distinguish it from other type of SQLException, for example,
database name error exception or SQL statement syntax error).
I do not know whether I have made myself understood.
Who have better solutions?

SQLException? For example, can the exception tell me
whether it is a duplicated primary key error or SQL
statememt syntax error? You don't have to look at the error text. You should
look at the error code. But keep in mind that
it is vendor specific. A duplicate key error in Oracle
has different error code then in SQL Server.Sounds good in theory, in practice it leaves a lot to be desired. First one still has to figure out which codes are problematic, and there is still no guarantee that they won't change. Moreover you might find that the code is used for different types of errors, and that won't work.

Inserting sound files

Ok, someone help a rookie here...
I shot a project, I want to replace the sound takes with the audio files our sound people recorded. I am stumped, I can't figure out how to replace just the lines and parts I want with the good sound. I sent the sequence from Final Cut. So all the tracks are laid out nicely. How do I replace the parts I want with the parts of the files I want to insert?
