Trouble in upgrading window

I am trying to upgrade to 6.05, but evertime i get to the window with the girl and the guy where it says "ipod + itunes, meant to be together" and i press next, nothing happens and my window freezes. How do i get passed this?

In windows, goto control panel>add and remove and uninstall BOTH iTUnes and quicktime. Doing so will not cause you to loose music or playlist. Then go here and roll down to the section "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Now scan the system for adware/spyware with your adware program or Ewido http://www.ewido.com Sometimes an adware called Qoologic causes issues with iTunes and ewido is one good program at catching this.
After that disable your antivirus, then goto apple.com Download AND SAVE itunes setup to your PC, like the desktop. When its done downloading goto where you saved the file and double click it to install iTUnes

    Question
Would like to upgrade to Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 from DNS 6 (which would also entail a necessary upgrade from Windows 2000 to 7) but understand after all this expense and trouble, DNS upgrade may not be compatible with Firefox 6?
Main priority is voice activation upgrade. Ideas about how to proceed appreciated!

AFAIK, it's been over three years since a WinXP laptop or desktop PC has been sold; I specifically bought a laptop in June 2008 because it was being clearanced by that retail chain to meet Microsoft's deadline, and got it real cheap. It was tagged for the store manager to purchase, but he let me have it because I exceeded his expectations for the services I performed for his store and thought I deserved it. Anything that wasn't made for Vista-compatibility will be very iffy with Win7, IMO - so that basically rules out anything that was made before like Oct or Nov 2007.
Unless another DNS 11 user happens to see this thread and can verify whether it works in Firefox 6.0 or not, I don't what to recommend except for you doing a web search to see what other DNS / Firefox users have to say about compatibility.

After opening certain websites, pogo, firefox 4.0.1 closes with no error message. When I restore the session I get: Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.
I have had this problem before and had to reinstall an earlier version of firefox.
The error console has a long list of errors, many of them end with: does not implement nsIObserver. Is there a way to send the information on the error console to firefox support?
Redownloading Firefox 4.0 will fix my problem until I either close firefox or turn off my computer. The problem recurs when I open firefox again.

It is also possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 with iTunes installed. Now my iPhone 4S is no longer recognized in iTunes. Connecting the iPhone with USB sends me directly to the MS app that downloads pictures from the iPhone. Suggest this is a question of missing Apple driver for Windows 8, iTunes and iPhone. MS does not care! This seems to be a general problem with Windows 8 that a number of drivers that used to work with Windows 7 now do not work, ie. iPhone to iTunes, HTC to HTCSync, Samsung to Kies etc. I need this connection to work in order to syncronize with Outlook and my iTunes library.

Maybe it would have been a better idea to confirm that iTunes is supported in Windows 8 before buying a computer with that Operating System.
There will be a new version of iTunes released this month... no one forced you to upgrade prior to a supported version of iTunes being released.

  • Upgrade Windows 8.1 to Pro Issue

I am trying to upgrade my Windows 8.1 machine to pro. I am doing this via DVD and product key I purchased. When I try to perform the upgrade the only option I get when I am asked, "Choose what you want to keep" is nothing. I would like to keep
    everything and don't understand why I can't.

    Hi,
What DVD did you buy? It seems that you got the full Windows 8.1 pro. If so, we cannot use it to upgrade to Windows 8.1 pro, besides clean installation.
To upgrade Windows 8.1 to pro version, we just need to buy the Windows 8.1 pro pack:
    Windows 8.1 Pro Pack
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Windows-8.1-Pro-Pack/productID.288392300
Then, we can follow these steps to do the upgrade, and we may not lose anything:
Right click This PC -> Properties -> Get more features with a new edition of Windows -> I already have a product key
Then, type the key you bought, and restart the computer.
    Hope this could be helpful.

  • Since I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 iTunes only works in Windows 7 "Safe Mode".

Since I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 iTunes only works in Windows 7 "Safe Mode". it will not run in the normal mode. (It ran properly in Vista)  I spent several hours with the Microsoft Technician going through the "1717 suggestions, but to no avail.  On my own, I tried iTunes in Windows 7 "Safe Mode" and was successful!  It ran like a charm.  Unfortunately, I can't run iTunes properly in "Safe Mode"  I have not tried moving one set of the files yet.  But if iTunes works in Safe Mode, do I need to relocate anything or do I need to find what is causing the conflict between Windows 7 and iTunes?

    Which Satellite A205?
Which Windows 7 (64-bit)? What about the other laptop?
Which printer model, version, and so forth?

Now i want to upgrade my laptop with windows 8.1 operating system. So how can i upgrade my windows 7 64 bit machine to windows 8.1. ? Also i am only able to format C: drive. So is their any way to upgrade windows 7 based laptop to widows 8.1 without affecting other drives?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
Read through these two useful documents to know about upgrade paths, possibilities, limitations:

Make sure that your HP support website has all the necessary drivers compatible with Windows 8.1 before proceeding with upgrade/clean install of any sort. This determines if HP support Windows 8.1 in your model.

  • How to upgrade Windows Server 2008 Foundation to Windows Server 2008 Standard

I have a Dell server with Windows Server 2008 Foundation installed. I am now on a larger network which has their own servers for authentication and the Windows Server 2008 Foundation will not let join a domain with more than 15 users. I was told that I needed
to upgrade Windows server 2008 foundation to Windows server 2008 Standard and that process can be done "in place" but I can't find how do do it. I called Dell and they said they basically said they didn't know what I was talking about.
    How do I  do this?

According to the first one you can perform an in-place upgrade.

  • Error during recovery while upgrading Windows 8

When I upgraded Windows 8 on my HP Spectre Touchsmart Ultrabook 15t-4000 it failed during reboot.  It nows comes up in recovery mode but says:
Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information
    File:\BCD
    Error code: 0xC0000034
When I continue, Windows boots after a long pause and presents the "Choose keyboard"screen.  When I select English it goes to the screen with the troubleshooting icon.  From there I have attempted automatic repair which fails with the error "The drive where windows is installed is locked".  I have also attempted refresh, reset, and recovery manager and have not been able to get any of them to work.
What can I do to get my system back up?

    Thanks for you advice.
I am having what I understand is not unique. I want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 but get a non working computer after the 'setting up devices' gets to about 54%. I have read that a start into safe mode, disabling the video driver on startup and then an update to the latest graphics driver for Intel graphics 4000 will solve the problem. HP says do not upgrade now.
Two questions: 1) Does the work around work? 2)Will HP tell me when I can upgrade nomally?
This is important because I can't find a way to recover from a backup on this frustrating machine that has the 32 gigabyte quick start flash unit working with my hard drive. I have to start over again from factory fresh with the usb stick every time.
    Thanks for a response.
