Trouble inserting songs/media into iAuthor

When I drag my media (song which is in AAC format) into the page, it seems like it's a dead action. Nothing clicks, nothing snaps into place. The only visual difference I can see is that there is a slight bullseye looking image on the page. But once you click the content, that disappears. The "inspector" and "media" tools seem to be stupid and worthless.
Basically, I can't figure out how to make it work and it seems like it should be a lot easier. Ultimately, I want to add a song so it can be clicked and start playing.
Thanks

I traveled for several days and haven't been able to respond or keep troubleshooting. But thanks so much for the help!
It's still a problem. I do have that menu but when I click Media it takes me to the widget which isn't helpful:
Thanks, I still need help!

  • Having trouble inserting a logo into my video

    I am having difficulty inserting a logo into my video. Whenever, I am successful, and I go to play the video, the logo moves out of place. I deleted all of the effects but am still having trouble with it.

    We have no idea what the problem is or how you applied the logo from that brief description!

  • Trouble inserting a widget into my web page

    Hello,
    I am using DW CS3. I got the html code for a widget (in this case a small banner) to insert into my web page. Here is the code:
    <div>Find <a id="flipkey_best_of_property" href="http://www.flipkey.com/pine-mountain-club-vacation-rentals/g1553621/">Pine Mountain Club Vacation Rentals</a> on FlipKey</div><script type="text/javascript" src="http://data.flipkey.com/widgets/jsapi/36780/fhb/7be5/"></script>
    I inserted a Div Tag in my web page to contain the code (Class: Body; ID: apDiv2), and then pasted the code into the Div Tag. Though I was in Design View, the html code still showed as html code, not as the small banner I had hoped for. Can someone steer me in the right direction?
    Note: I took a web design course 3 years ago and created this web page at the time. I haven't done any web design since then, and have forgotten many of the details, but I should remember as soon as someone points out my errors.
    Thanks!

    If it's been 3 years, a refresher course may be in order.

  • ?Inserting video/media into applet

    I've just gotten into applets. I found and finally today figured out how to insert audioClips into the applet, but i cannot find a way to insert video (wma, mov, ect..) files into the applet. I would greatly apreciate it if someone could NOT give me the code to do it, but tell me what classes to look in so that i may try and figure it out myself.
    I am using Java 1.4.2
    I used the following code for my sound/image to appear, but have not been able to find anything concerning video:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.applet.*;
    public class Applets extends Applet
         public void init()
         public void paint(Graphics g)
              sound();
              picture(g);
              video();
         public void sound()
              AudioClip x = super.getAudioClip(getCodeBase(),"Wonders.wav");
              x.play();
         public void picture(Graphics g)
              Image x = super.getImage(getCodeBase(),"htgnlogo.jpg");
              g.drawImage(x, 0, 0, this);
         public void video()
              //help?
    }

    You can use the dbms_lob package to store BLOBs in the database. See: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B13789_01/appdev.101/b10802/d_lob.htm
    If you want to do someting else, please specify what you want to do exactly, the versions of the products you are using etc.

  • Inserting song breaks into a cdr/vinyl using GarageBand?

    I'm using a stand-alone cd recorder to record my vinyl records onto cdr's. I would then like to use a built-in application (I have iLife on a new mac mini) to break up the songs and then load into iTunes as an album.
    It's a lot easier on the cd recorder to just drop the needle and record sides 1 and 2 as songs without hitting the song breaks on the fly. It would also be good to be able to remove the needle drop and lift off as well to clean things up.
    Is this possible on GarageBand or maybe iDVD?
    Thanks in advance,
    RickMac

    If you record into GB you can use the Cycle Region to export a portion of your recording (e.g. one of the songs). The move it to export another section. That way iTunes will have the songs separated. However, you will need to rename the songs in iTunes.

  • Trouble inserting audio clip into sequence (CS5)

    When I click on the insert button, everything to the right of the insertion point on the timeline is pushed to the right, as if the clip were inserted, but the clip doesn't show up anywhere (I've scrolled up and down through both the audio and video tracks), as you can see here:
    I've done this many times beofre without any problem.  What am I doing wrong now?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Insert flash media into JTextPane??

    can anyone teach me how to do it? Thanks :)

    It cannot be done (atleast as far as I know). Googling your post title didn't produce any useful links in the first ten results, so this means it aint available yet.
    You could however search for embeddable browser components that can display the system browser within swing. Check out the JDIC Project which has a browser component that does just that. https://jdic.dev.java.net/

  • Inserting blockquote tags into a HTMLDocument

    G'Day,
    I'm having a bit of trouble inserting <blockquote> tags into a HTMLDocument.
    Basically I want the blockquote tags to implement an indent feature. ie, you click a button and all the text in the current paragraph gets surrunded by blockquote tags, which when rendered makes it indent.
    The code I'm using is:
    Element current = doc.getParagraphElement(pos);
    try
    doc.insertBeforeStart(current, "<blockquote>");
    doc.insertAfterEnd(current, "</blockquote>");
    catch (Exception e)
    lets say we have html like this:
    <p>
    hello
    </p>
    when this code runs, i get:
    <blockquote>
    </blockquote>
    <p>
    hello
    </p>
    I think that when I do the insertBeforeStart and insert the opening tag, after that completes the document is rendered and the end tag is put in there automatically???
    So, can anyone help me out here and suggest a better way?
    Cheers,
    Leighton.

    I've been trying to get <blockquote> insert working in an editor but it seems to be a quite difficult task even if it's only about inserting a couple of tags into the right slot! This is the closest I got:
    HTMLDocument doc = (HTMLDocument)editor.getDocument();
    int start = editor.getCaretPosition()
    int paraStart = doc.getParagraphElement(start).getStartOffset();
    int paraEnd = doc.getParagraphElement(start).getEndOffset();
    String insideBlockQuotes = doc.getText(paraStart, paraEnd - paraStart);
    doc.setOuterHTML(doc.getParagraphElement(start),"<blockquote><p>"+insideBlockQuotes+"</p></blockquote>");
    This is how it works: Get the current paragraphs start and end positions, read the text between the start and end into a string, replace the paragrapElement with <blockquote><p>..the text from string..</p></blockquote>.
    This works 'in about' but it's far from perfect.. it has the following problems:
    1. It looses all formatting from the quoted paragraph (bold etc. tags from the quoted part)
    2. It assumes that the paragraphElement was a <p> (could have been another element too!)
    3. It's ugly
    Anybody come up with a better way to use blockquote?

    I do a weekly update.
    Everything is cool.
    Now I would  love to keep the iTunes Mediafolder on the Nas and delete the one on my internal HD.
    What kind of trouble I may run into?
    Where are the hidden catches?
    What can go wrong, and how can i undo any mistake?
    I also have an iTunes Match acccount.
    Cheers
    rudy

    HI
    Read this user tip Make and keep a backup of your iTunes library, and only stream from the cloud.
    Problems? No hidden catches. Whilst streaming using match, you will need a wifi connection. You main worry is that if your NAS drives fails, you need to redownload your music from match but this could take time depending on how large your collection is. Personally I keep an additional backup of all my music as a matter of course.

    I am in the process of preparing to test a sample from your brand and model camera in my Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on Windows 7 64 bit. I will have the results probably tomorrow morning.
    For now I just want to put you through the drill that I do for anyone who says he/she is using Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
    1. Are you working from the 8.0/8.0.1 Update of the program?
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4653
    2. Do you have the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalyzer features turned OFF.
    For Background Rendering option. See Edit Menu/Preferences/General.
    For AutoAnalyzer option. Click on Organizer in the row below the blue active Organize header in order to open the Elements Organizer. In the Elements Organizer workspace, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options and disable all the AutoAnalzyer options. To return to the Premiere Elements workspace from the Elements Organizer workspace, in the Elements Organizer workspace, go to File Menu/Exit.
    Is your computer optimized in spite of the fact that  you have a high end laptop? I presumed so but always go to verify, no pile ups of preview files, conformed video and audio files et al.
    Looking at the properties of your source media, I see:
    video compression = MPEG1
    audio compression = MPEG-Layer1 (.mp2)
    Frame Size = 640 x 480 (4:3)
    Pixel Aspect Ratio = 1.0
    Frame Rate = 30 progressive frames per second
    With properties like those you are sure to get a red line over that content since there is no project preset with that description.
    But, your choice of the default NTSC DV Standard would have been mine also.
    I am heading to try to get a quick look at the behavior of the sample video here in my Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
    To be continued.

  • Photos don't show up in media browser when I want to insert a photo into Word

    I'm fully updated in Yosemite (10.10.3) on an iMac (recently purchased).  Photos updated just the other day and I chose iCloud for storage.  When I try to insert a photo into my Word document no photos show up in the media sidebar "photos" nor in the media browser on Word.  My photolibrary is visible under "Pictures" in the sidebar, but it is grayed out. How can I link the sidebar "Media =>Photos" or un-gray it on the pictures?

    Sounds like more of a question for the Mail experts. Once the file is added to the Mail message it's not really anything to do with iPhoto.

  • Trouble inserting text into JEditorPane

    Hello.
    I am trying to use a URL Connection and the read method to produce an HTML page in a JEditorPane.
         purlRec is a data record that contains information relating to the URL in question.
         pis is an input stream create from the URLConnection.getInputStream() method
    private void loadFromURL(UrlRecord purlRec, InputStream pis ) {
    URL url;
    String tmpStr = (String)purlRec.getUrlName();
    String baseUrl = (String)purlRec.getUrlName();
    setContentType("text/html");
    try {
    HTMLDocument doc = (HTMLDocument)getDocument();
    doc.setBase(new URL(baseUrl));
    this.read(is,doc);
    repaint();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.err.println("Couldn't create URL: " + tmpStr);
    System.out.println("error:"+e.getMessage());
    I get the following when I execute the code. Am I not using this correctly or is there something I am missing? I am using the read from input stream so that I can connnect to url that require authentication. I know that the URL connection works because I am able to write the output of the stream to a text file in a test function.

    Thank you

    I tried using this, but I get an UNAUTHORIZED Status code (401) indicating request requires HTTP authentication. ( HttpServletResponse error code ). This is why the encoded authentication is used. It works when I try to just read from the url using an InputStream but not when I try passing the same InputStream to the JEditorPane.
    Any Idea of how to use JEditorPane.read(InputStream in , Object desc) or why it would work in one instance and not in the other?

  • Error Msg - There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive

    Okay, I have been using itunes w/the same ipod for quite a while. Recently my computer died so I just bought a new one. Before getting rid of the old one I logged onto windows and moved all my files to an external drive. I am now using this external drive for all my docs, music, etc. on the new computer and did a "move" of "my documents" (including "my music" contained therein). I installed itunes and my ipod using the software disks that came with my ipod. I inserted the ipod and it worked fine but it did make me associate the ipod with this new computer and had to reinstall all my music on my ipod. So far so good. Then when I went to play a purchased song itunes informed me that I had to upgrade to the most recent version of itunes to play the song. I then dowloaded the update and installed it. After installing the updated itunes, itunes then basically re-associated itself with my ORIGINAL profile (I'm not sure if profile is the correct word to use here) and once again deleted everything on my ipod and reinstalled all my songs. Now this is where I began having this problem. Now, everytime I run itunes (with or without my ipod connected) I get 12 of the above-mentioned error messages. The top of the box says "Windows - No Disk" and the main part of the box says "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive." I am given the choice of "Cancel" "Try Again" and "Continue." I hit cancel for a total of 12 times. I've tried with disks in both of my cd/dvd drives and get the same message. The funny thing is that I have about 12 or so card readers (scene by the computer as drives) and I'm thinking that maybe itunes is trying to access those drives or something, but I'm not sure. So, that's it in a nutshell. Any help by someone w/knowledge of this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    This can also be caused in iTunes 7 by "dead tracks": songs that iTunes is expecting to find in a certain place but the song file isn't there.
    I recently upgraded to version 7 and got this message every time I started iTunes. I used the iTunes COM SDK for Windows with JScript to find all the dead tracks in my library. Then I fixed them by either deleting them from the library or else correcting the library's idea of where the song file was. Once I did this the message went away.
    Another way to look for dead tracks is to parse the iTunes library XML file and look for invalid file paths. I did this in Perl without too much trouble.
    (I'm cross-posting this to several threads about the same problem.)

  • Trouble inserting Flash in CS5.5

    I just upgraded to CS5.5 and am having trouble inserting a Flash file into Dreamweaver. When I used CS4, I would open the html file that Flash created in the Publish process. I would copy and paste the top part of that file -- the <script> info into the header of my dreamweaver code. Then in the location where I wanted the Flash file to be I would paste the code from the Flash html that started with <!--url's used in the movie--> and ended with </noscript>.
    However, the files I just created in Flash using all the same Publish settings as I used previously (I think!) look completely different. There is nothing like either of these sections that I previously used to insert the Flash code into Dreamweaver. Here is a comparison of the 2 Flash html files so you can see what I'm talking about.

    HELP!!!!!

    OK, firstly, you can open the site an Dreamweeaver CS 4 and insert your flash video, but with CS 5.5 Adobe decided that Flash support should be something they should deprecate. And there is good reason.
    Mobile devices don't handle Flash very well. iPhones and iPads simply won't play it and many of the Android devices make a video into a slide show with sound.
    With CS 5.5 though, you can make an HTML5 document that understands the <video> tag. This will allow you to directly embed a video into a website without needing any plugin. There is a complete explanation and tutorial here:
    Webmonkey: Embed Video in your web page using HTML5
    From the article, here's the source:
    <video width="560" height="340" controls>
      <source src="path/to/myvideo.mp4" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'>
    <source src="path/to/myvideo.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'>
    </video>
    That's it! You can add additional stuff, like an image placeholder and so on, but really, you're looking at four lines of code here. Now, with the Flash stuff, Adobe, which supported Flash, wrote all of the code for you. While that was easy, it was a lot more complicated and, of course, clients on your site had to have the Flash plugin to see the video.
    Your doctype declatation is XHTML 1.0 strict. You will need to change your doctype to HTML5 thusly:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html lang="en">
    Then after your head tag, declare your character set:
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    Lastly, you will need to make sure that your server understands the ogg Theora MIME type. Download your .,htaccess file from your remote server and add the following lines to the end of that file:
    AddType audio/ogg .oga
    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType application/ogg .ogg
    AddHandler application-ogg .ogg .ogv .oga
    You may also be able to add these MIME types from your server's control panel.
    Then, you're finished with Flash—forever.
