Trouble installing Acrobat Pro9

I have to re-install Acrobat Pro 9 because I installed PitStop 11 and now Acrobat does not work at all.
Started with CS4 CD and hit "Setup"
It does a scan of "System Preference" (or similar).
Then an Installation Window open where I can select what I want to install.
I select Acrobat Pro - hit Install but nothing happens.
The CD does not spin up and no installation takes place.
I remember from years ago there was the Cleaner Script and Bootstrapper - do I need to do these?
Something else?
Thanks for your help.
Dan

Yes, the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and otehr steps may be a good idea. The rest is not realyl going anywhere. Your post is confusing and devoid of any real technical info like system details or an exact descriptiojn of the issues that prompted the reinstall.

    Hi Pat
Thanks for your email.  I was able to download and install this morning without any problems.  I uninstalled the old version yesterday and restarted my computer but still got errors.  However when I turned off last night, windows ran updates and that must of fixed the problem.  I also got rid of firefox and put of google chrome.  All to use Australia Posts click and send which wouldn't work because of an error with the plugin.  Thanks for your very quick reply, I appreciate your help.  Have a great day.  Best Regards Judy (moo2u2)

  • Trouble Installing Acrobat 9 Professional - Creative Suite 4

I bought a newer HP laptop months ago and loaded all the other components of Creative Suite 4 Design Premium -- Win 7  64 bit - with no issues.
I then tried to install Acrobat 9 Professional and keep getting error messages saying that one or more components dd not load correctly.
My antivirus was turned off and I rebooted after the first failed attempt. The 2nd attempt had the same results.
I've seen others with the same issue while trying to load Acrobat 9 Prof.
What is the "fix" to get this on my new laptop?
    Thanks

  • Just purchased an upgrade trouble installing acrobat x pro

cant install acrobat x pro  . saying check system requirements . I have enough space and I have windows xp

If it says you don't meet the requirements, then something is up. Check the specs here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html. If you're not on SP3, then that could explain it already...

    Hi Ron,
We are gonna have to work together to isolate the issue on your machine, so please bear with me.
First, i would like to know whether the setup files of Acrobat 10.0 exist on your machine at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Setup Files\{AC76BA86-1033-FFFF-7760-000000000005}" on a 64-bit machine or "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Setup Files\{AC76BA86-1033-FFFF-7760-000000000005}" on a 32-bit machine. If yes then launch setup.exe, and click NEXT, you'll see an option to remove the product. Remove the product.
If No then create a string value registry called "Logging" at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\] with value "voicewarmup". This will start creating the MSI log of installation and uninstallation on your machine at "C:\Users\<username e.g Ronn>\AppData\Local\Temp".
Now delete everything in the above mentioned Temp folder. Don't worry about Temp, nothing important gets stored here.
Now goto "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features", Select Acrobat 10's entry and click on uninstall, this will start uninstalling your older Acrobat. If uninstall works fine then all's good other wise if the uninstall quits in between then go to the above mentioned Temp folder, there you will see the MSI log of the uninstallation by the name similar to MSI1234a.LOG save this MSI log somewhere safe and e-mail it to me. I'll give you my email ID via a private message. I'll study this LOG and see what's wrong with the machine.
    Thanks.

  • Trouble installing Acrobat XI Pro

I'm trying to install Acrobat XI Pro and it won't complete the install until I close winword.exe which isn't open.  Is there a trick to by pass this?

No Birdtail you will need to make sure you close the process.  Please use the Task Manager to ensure that Winword.exe is no longer running.  You may also want to try rebooting your computer and then try the installation again.

  • Trouble installing Acrobat

I am having the same problem ran uninstall and then the cleaner tool - cloud still says it is installed and won't reinstall it

How did you uninstall the software?  Did you utilize the uninstaller in Applications/Utilties/Adobe Installers?  If not please try running the uninstaller from there as it should then allow you to reinstall the software.
In regards to a clean tool for Mac OS I believe you are referring too CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html instead of the Acrobat Cleaner tool which is Windows only.  It is unlikely that this cleaner tool would affect your installation of Acrobat.
Finally for the issue with the EULA being blank please see Blank EULA screen appears on Acrobat XI launch - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html in case you end up facing this difficulty again in the future.

I can't install  the trial version of Adobe Acrobat X Professional for Windows. I've downloaded the product but I'm getting a message box response stating Adobe Reader could not open "Hairston Acrobat Download" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.

  • Trouble installing Acrobat X Upgrade Version using Acrobat 7 standard

    Hi forum,
some years ago I bought a Acrobat X Upgrade-Version for upgradeing my Version 7 standard. No problems installing that software that time.
Now I bought a new notebook and wish to install the software again on this new machine.
I installed the version X, using the key from the CD. Starting the program, I have to type in te key again. The software accepts the key, but wants to know the key of version 7. No problem, I thought, typing the version 7 key in the following field.
But now the software says that ist a wrong key?!?
    So I can´t aktivate the software... :-(
Installing version 7 first and then version X causes the same problem.
Any help? What can I do?
Thank you very much in advance!

  • Problems installing Acrobat 9I

I am having trouble installing Acrobat 9, I originally installed it as part of the Creative Suite 4 (Design Premium), acrobat installed okay as part of the suite, but I couldn't create pdf's from word or safari.
I uninstalled acrobat 9, the rest of the suite remains and works perfectly, now when I try to reinstall acrobat 9 my mac sits at the installation screen!  Do I need to uninstall the complete suite?
My MBP is only a week old and has very little else on it yet!
    Any help will be appreciated.

I have the same problem. I recently upgraded from CS2 (Premium) to CS4 (Standard) and, although I needed help from Adobe Tech Support, I installed the suite successfully. However, Acrobat Pro 9 did not update like the other applications so I called in for more help. That was a bust and, as a matter of fact, after removing some components from the Acrobat.app folder as directed, Acrobat wouldn't even open any more. Consequently, I trashed it and started over.
Unfortunately, now I have the same problem the first user has. Installations proceeds normally until the "Preparing to Install..." screen at which it just stops. It doesn't freeze up or anything, it just dies.
Sure hope somebody can offer a solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bill

  • Installing Acrobat

I am having trouble installing acrobat because creative cloud says it's still finishing the photoshop download even though photoshop has been downloaded on my computer for about a week and I've used it multiple times. So photoshop says "finishing" and acrobat says "waiting" and I can't figure out a way to get it to move on from photoshop and download acrobat. I have a macbook pro. Not sure what to do.

    Hi Carlie ,
I would like to know from where are you trying to install Acrobat ?
Is it through Adobe.com or some external source?
    Try downloading it from Adobe.com.

  • Snow Leopard (10.6.4) & CS5, Acrobat Pro9 install/update  error helpful hints

Thought I would post this to help other folks out that might come across this problem.
    OS: Snow Leopard 10.6.4
Macbook mid-2009 model w/4 gb RAM
Adobe Programs to install: CS5 Production Premium and Acrobat Pro 9
    Symptoms:
CS5 suite appeared to load fine.  Ran updater and updater said updates failed.  Various programs of CS5 suite would freeze after splash screen.
Acrobat Pro9 would not load properly.  Returned an "Internal Error Occurred" and could not get any further.
After much searching and reading, these are some pretty simple steps to follow:
    1. use disk utility in Utilities folder of OSX Applications, click on repair permissions; reboot and try to run updates and software.  If this does not fix the problem, step 2.
    2. try "Safe Boot" -- shut down. Then upon pressing power button, when you hear the chime, press/hold the shift key until you see a progress bar.  Try again to open/run programs that were freezing.  This likely won't work but it's a step to try.
    3. Create a new User account in OSX 10.6.4 with Admin privileges. (you can search on this for the specific steps if you don't know how, there is an Apple support doc that has the detail).
    4. Shut down (or log off) and log in with the new User with admin priveleges.  Try to run the CS5 software that was freezing up.  If it loads/runs fine, then you know that your original user's preferences are corrupted.  Here's where you can get into a lot of time wasted.
    5. Relog into OSX using your original User, then -- open Users/username/Library file
    6. Then, open up the Preferences file -- you can delete all the Adobe preference files (or simply drag them to your desktop, they will be recreated upon reboot and opening up an Adobe program, you can delete them from desktop later).
    7.  Reboot after deleting Adobe preferences (some say com.adobe.xxx) -- try to open/run CS5 programs.  If they run now, you're done.  If you still have
    problems, go to step 8.
    8. open up User/username(again, this is the original corrupted user)/Library -- this time go into Application Support folder
    9. pull out to desktop the Adobe folder (delete this later) -- then reboot, and log back in using original user logon.
    10.  open up CS5 programs -- they should run -- if they don't, there is more extensive detective work necessary, but these steps will eliminate a lot of legwork for many.  I wish I had found a step-by-step sooner to take me through these steps.

    What did you update?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.
