Trouble installing Acrobat X Upgrade Version using Acrobat 7 standard

Hi forum,
some years ago I bought a Acrobat X Upgrade-Version for upgradeing my Version 7 standard. No problems installing that software that time.
Now I bought a new notebook and wish to install the software again on this new machine.
I installed the version X, using the key from the CD. Starting the program, I have to type in te key again. The software accepts the key, but wants to know the key of version 7. No problem, I thought, typing the version 7 key in the following field.
But now the software says that ist a wrong key?!?
So I can´t aktivate the software... :-(
Installing version 7 first and then version X causes the same problem.
Any help? What can I do?
Thank you very much in advance!
Werner

  • How do I reinstall an upgrade version of Acrobat X

I lost my HD. How do I reinstall my upgrade version of Acrobat?

    Hi JoeMazzeo2,
Please download Acrobat 10 from : http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml   and use the serial number you have to activate it.
Since you own an upgrade serial number, make sure you have the older base version serial number too as the installer will prompt you to enter both the serial numbers to validate before activating.

    Hi hgratz,
Considering 'invalid serial number' error for Acrobat 9, I would suggest you to please refer the KB doc link mentioned below:

Let me know if that helps.

  • Question on Acrobat X upgrade version

    Here is my situation:
One of my users has a copy of Acrobat 7.0 Standard.  He recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 on it.  Acrobat 7.0 doesn't get along well with Windows 7, so we have decided to purchase Acrobat X Standard for him.  What I want to know is if it's necessary for Acrobat 7.0 to be installed before installing the Acrobat X upgrade?
As best I can tell, Acrobat 7.0 does install on his computer, but the pdf printer portion does not.  Still, I do not want to be in a situation where my upgrade license doesn't work because the install is incomplete or damaged due to incompatibility with Windows 7, and I do not have time to try it and then go through hoops with customer service to send the package back if it doesn't work.

In order to upgrade you don't need to install the old version at all, you
just need to have its S/N at hand because you'll be required to fill it in
    during the installation.

  • Acrobat 9 upgrade from OEM Acrobat 6

I've used Acrobat standard in my business since v4.0, and upgraded once to v5.05. I am now migrating to a new WinVistaUltx64 system, and find that Acrobat 5x-8x are not compatible with Vista.
In order to reduce my costs, I am thinking of purchasing an OEM full Acrobat v6 Standard and Acrobat v9 Standard retail Upgrade. I expect to be able to install the v9 upgrade on my Vista system, using the installation CD from v6 as legacy verification for the v9 upgrade. The OEM v6 will not be installed on the Vista system. I have done this previously when I upgraded to a full retail v5 from a full retail v4, but not from an OEM version. Can anyone with more experience with Adobe Acrobat upgrades advise me of problems I might encounter in this scenario?
I know that OEM versions don't come with support options, but I have upgraded OEM OS versions to retail versions before, and support became available with the retail upgrade. Will support be attached to the Acrobat v9 retail upgrade, if I am upgrading from an OEM version?

You have to update to at least AA8.1.2 to use VISTA and 64 bit systems. I think that version will do it. Of course at this time, AA9 is what is available anyway. AA6 does not run on VISTA as far as I know. Be aware, if you do forms you need to upgrade to a PRO version. It is best to think of Std as an economy version. It left a lot out that users of AA4 and AA5 came to expect.
AA6 works fine on XP. Even AA5 works fine on XP, at least it does for me. I use AA8.1.2 on VISTA Business and AA7 on an XP tablet. As for the OEM upgrades I have no clue to help you. As far as I know, the upgrade will be to the full product. I do think that if you upgrade, the previous version that the upgrade was based upon is not supposed to be used any longer. You did not mention that scenario, but just one aspect to consider in case you had been thinking it.

  • Can I install Windows 7 upgrade version with Bootcamp on my MAC Book Pro?

I currently don't have Windows on my Mac book Pro.  I am trying to avoid the high cost of the full version.   My friend said they knew someone who was able to use the upgradable version to install it on their PC using bootcamp.
Also is Parallell really worth the extra cost?  I will be primary working on my OS OPsystem and only need windows for a few specific things.

Have you actually tried to install an upgrade version of Windows 7 without a previous version of Windows installed ?
FYI: Google "Windows 7 upgrade double install".  This was primarily to do clean installs of Windows Vista using the upgrade product keys, but it still works with Windows 7.  I use this technique for cases where the owner upgraded to Win7, but didn't make the recovery disks of XP when they originally got the computer (and the computer didn't come with recovery disks,) then the HD fails and so we have to install Windows 7 from scratch to a new HD using the upgrade product keys without any previous copy of Windows.

  • Trouble with registration of previous versions of acrobat

I just purchased, regostered and installed the acrobat 10 update.  In the process it erased acrobat 10.  When it was ready to go a prompt advised me that there was no acrobet 10 registered on this adobe account and therefore it could not proceed.  The previous version where regostered on a different account using an email address that no longer exists because I changed companies.  What do I do?

  • Trouble installing 12.1.1 version of itunes

I am having a problem when attempting to updating my windows 7 pc with the latest version of iTunes (12.1.1). When I select download from apple website, I get the screen that says "Thank you for downloading iTunes..etc...rather quickly, as though nothing happens, and then no prompt to run/save this program from my pc. I dug deeper into the apple site, found a different pathway to download version 12.1.1 of iTunes. This time I run the installation and get so far into the process before I get the following errors (after responding to the prompt from the OS that I do trust Apple and it is ok to run this program:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "iTues64.msi" in the box below.
When I click OK, I get the following message:
The Path 'C:\Users\Kyren\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64.msi' cannot be found.  Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
So I attempted to troubleshoot this already by attempting to uninstall all apple/iTunes/bonjour etc from my pc, but apparently didn't do them in the correct order because now I can seem to uninstall the itunes program itself-I keep getting the same message as above:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "iTues64.msi" in the box below.
I am stuck in a loop where I can't uninstall the old version of iTunes (control panel says version 11.4.0.18) but each time I try to download iTunes, other pieces do successfully download such as Apple Application Support (32bit), Apple Mobil Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour etc...but apparently not the "installation package".
Prior to this latest iTunes update, which was prompted by Apple and also wanted Quick Time to update as well (but I also got errors with that update as well) iTunes was working fine, in fact no issues for the past 5+ years I've had my Toshiba laptop and had iTunes downloaded onto it.
Anyone that can help me??? Please!!!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Can't open down loads with upgraded version, using windows xp

    same as above

    Hi,
Unfortunately the Nikon D3300 requires camera raw 8.4 which is not compatible with PSE 10.
Even worse, the DNG Converter 8.4 will not run on a XP or Vista comtuter.
I don't know if the software that came with the D3300 will run on the XP system but if it does, your only option would be to use it to convert the NEF files to TIF files and then PSE 10 will be able to use the TIF files.
I think that you really need to think about upgrading your system sooner than later.

  • Trouble Installing Visual Studios 2013 Community on Windows Standard 7 Embedded.

    Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is solvable or not, but I cannot seem to get MS Windows Standard 7 Embedded to run Visual Studios 2013.  I have been able to make it work fine on Win7 HP, and on Win 8.1, but it seems to not be compatible with the Win Standard 7

You don't provide much of an explanation to go on with regard to what is occuring which will not allow Visual Studio 2013 community edition to run on WS7E.
Is .Net Framework 4.5 already installed on WS7E? Did VS 2013 Community install with no issues on WS7E? Are any errors occuring? If WS7E has event logs have you checked those?
I have no idea about WS7E or if you have to create an image that will run VS 2013 Community.
    La vida loca
I tried to upload a screen shot but apparently I have yet to be verified human, but I will try to describe what it looked like.  When I ran the .exe from downloads it came up with a window that said to fix the following errors before attempting to install.
The first error said that visual studios requires a computer with a newer version of windows.  The next problem said that visual studios works best with internet explorer 10, but I can't get an updated version of explorer because it is not compatible
with my system.  I can try another version of windows, or a different version of visual studios; however, I can only run windows 7 or earlier, windows 8 is not compatible with my pc.

  • How to install Acrobat 9 Upgrade to Windows 7?

I have Acrobat 6.0 Standard and the Upgrade version of Acrobat 9.0 Standard, which depended on 6.0 when installing with XP. I now have a new Windows 7 machine. Since there are problems installing 6.0 with Windows 7, how do I install 9.0? I'd rather not have to buy a completely new 9.0.
    Thanks. for your help.

I was able to install the upgrade from the DVD onto a Vista PC. It will prompt for the key from the DVD case. Once installed the upgrade will prompt for the key from the your previous version.
