Trouble installing Adobe Flash

I am trying to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player on my Mac OS X 10.6.8.  Nothing happens after I download the file to my dowloads folder.  There is no window that pops up for me to install the software.  Please help!  Thank you.

Safari doesn't open this type of files. Go to Downloads folder, double-click the Flash Player file, double-click the PKG file with the Flash Player installer and follow the steps to install it

Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5?

Thanks for your help here is what I did so far!
I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it, I've tried restarting my browser, then my MacBook Pro without any success!
When I click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and open System Preferences I can see Adobe Flash Player on the bottom under the Other section.
If I open Adobe up and check the version it tells me that I have the most recent version!
I even uninstalled Adobe and installed the newest Beta version, but Adobe is still not working! If I check for the latest version it tells me that I do have the latest beta version, but it still doesn't work!
If the person who made the video used any other video player it works!
Their player, plays the video without a problem!

You'll continue to have trouble, because...
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store.
These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed.  I've tried quitting Safari.  Have not uninstalled currently Adobe as yet.  How to fix?

Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish".  It then directs me to troubleshooting.  I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.
    Hope that information helps.

  • Trouble Installing Adobe Flash 10.2.159.1 to Mozilla Foxfire & windows Vista

I have tried, unsuccessfully, to download & install Adobe Flash 10.2.159.1 onto my computer.  I have tried all the advice found on the troubleshooting page, including uninstalling & re-installing, both as Administrator & not.  I now cannot play my favourite games on Facebook as a result.  I tried the online chat service & got no joy there either.  I keep gettig the same message, no matter what I try:
    "A required file (C\Windows\system321\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll.5)
could not be written due to insufficient permissions.
What do I do now?  I would appreciate any assistance in the matter.

    Do the following:
    download the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html and save it to disk;
    close all browser instances, then run the downloaded uninstaller;
    restart Windows;
open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
delete anything that still resides in that folder.
Once you have done that, you can reinstall Flash Player.
If you have any troubles deleting files from that Flash folder, please post again.
P.S. all the above must be done as an Administrator user.

  • I am having trouble installing Adobe flash to my i mac--any suggestions?

I am having trouble downloading and installing Adobe flash player to my i mac,--any suggestions?

Two bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. While users of other operating systems like Linux have yet to report attacks, Adobe's advisory notes the exploit affects all platforms.
Designated as CVE-2013-0634, the first vulnerability targets the Safari and Firefox Web browsers running on OS X, and is also being used as a trojan to deploy Microsoft Word documents containing malware. For Mac users, the flaw affects Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.146 or earlier.
On March 1 Apple again blocked Flash Player for Lion and Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5660
The Adobe Flash patch can be found on Adobe’s website, and users can visit this page to check if their software is the most curent version.
You should uninstall any previous version first, and repair permissions after installing the new version.

I think this exception is thrown if I click on my hard drive’s symbol in the installer.
I have the same problem when I try to install Microsoft’s last Office update. Maybe there is a connection?
I tried several older versions of the Adobe Flash Player installer, but they didn't work as well.
Perhaps we have some kind of "Mavericks" problem here?
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thank you very much in advance.
    Kind regards
    Oliver

    Finally found the issue here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3889562?tstart=0
Somehow a empty file /System/Library/CoreServices/ServerVersion.plist has been created.
If I understand this right this file is only needed if you use Mac OS X Server.
As suggested in the support forum I deleted the file (renamed it to _ServerVersion.plist) and after that every installation, including Adobe Flash Player and Office 2011 update worked!
    Thank you very much,
    Kind regards,
    Oliver

  • Trouble installing adobe flash player.

I have tried several times to install Adobe Flash Player. I get a message that it was successful, but then when I open something where it's required to view, I receive ANOTHER message to install. I looked online and took the steps given, one of which is to hit a button to see if it's installed, and I receive a notice Not installed. I have repeated this at least a dozen times.

  • Having trouble installing Adobe Flash while running Yosemite...

I installed Yosemite over a week ago and ever since I've been unable to get Flash to work properly. I realized an update needed to be installed (even though I have the automatic updates checked for Adobe Flash), but I'm having a hard time getting the update to complete. It prompts me to close all browsers after the installer downloads. Then after doing so, I click on the installer and everything starts off fine. However, after about 75% of the install being complete, it shows: 'Error: Unable to proceed with the installation.' At that point the only option I'm given is to click 'Finish.' After clicking 'Finish,' Safari opens up to Adobe's website and gives me the option to either troubleshoot the installation or try it again. I've done both, yet neither are working.
I first tried to just re-install it, but saw that I already had it installed, so that's when I tried updating it to the latest version. Since neither worked, I uninstalled Adobe flash and tried a clean install, but the same error appeared at about the same time during installation.
Before I uninstalled Adobe Flash, I checked the version and it matched the latest, however, every page that uses flash says I need to install the update and prompts me to do so before continuing. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Unless you're using an older (PPC) Mac with OS 10.5 or older, those instructions should work.

  • Trouble installing Adobe Flash 11

I have been at this four four days now. I have Windows XP, 32 bit. I have IE 8, 32 bit. I want to install Flash 11, (32 bit I assume). I have Norton 360. I have read every past post and still nothing. I have tried your Windows procedure many times. I have shut down my Norton many times ,even before I down load Flash. Here is what I get, 1; cannot connect to reliable source, . 2, I get a script error. The two errors are as follows.
    1st scrpit error is; line 115, (this line changes each time), Char; 13, Error; expected " } " , code; 0 , url; http//127.0.0.1;1442/app/_is/adobe.js

AVG is the name of an antivirus company. However, you have Norton.
It sounds like one of the shields in Norton is blocking the Flash download. Can you follow instructions on this site to disable those first of all please: http://answers.vt.edu/kb/entry/1283
Once you've done that, please proceed as follows:
Download the Flash uninstaller from here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_32bit.exe When you see the prompt, choose Save and save the file somewhere you can find it again easily. Do not choose Run.
After the file downloads, close IE8.
Run the uninstaller and then reboot.
When the system reboots to the desktop, disable Norton again as above.
Next, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ When you see the prompt this time, choose "Run" to install it immediately. It should take you to a page which runs the animation to show that it's been installed properly. If it doesn't, click this link to check it manually: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
You might want to consider installing Adobe Shockwave For Director as well. This is an enhanced version of the player and you'll need it if you play any online games where some interaction with the animation is required. You can download it from here, but disable Norton again first: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

  • Trouble installing Adobe Flash Player plug in 10.3.183.7

On several sites I have been alerted that I need to install the Adobe Flash Player plugin 10.3.183.7 in order to seeing everything correctly. When I select the install button, I get the message that it could not be installed and that I had to install it manually. Selecting any choices within the dropdown gets no response. And, interestingly, I already have Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152 (the latest one) installed on my computer. How do I install this plug in?

There are two different versions of Flash, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by most other browsers.
1.Download the Flash Plugin version 10.3.183.10 setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    4. Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />
    See this: <br />
