Trouble installing After Effects cs6 on my new Yosemite system.

I then attempted to install all the software from my old computer. Installed Entire cs6 suite, after effects is greyed out.
When i tried to open, i received an error " You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X. You have “Adobe After Effects CS6” 11.0. "
I then read online that there was fix by updating to After Effects to 11.4. Due to the fact that i cant open program to update from within i downloaded update and tried to install via the installer. I acts like it it will start even giving a timeline of how long it will take then closes and says update failed.
It then says you can look at error log, when i do it says " Adobe After Effects CS6 (11.0.4) update Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M2P28 ".
Anyone knows how i can fix this issue and get after effects working? Thanks in advance

There have been a few people having problems getting updates and a few different solutions. It all depends on what's messed up on your machine.
It could be as simple as fixing permissions: fixing permissions problem that impedes start of Adobe applications
Somewhat advanced, but it worked for somebody: Unable to upgrade to 11.0.1 for AE CS6
You may have to defeat a daemon... Newly installed After Effects CS6 won't launch.
One solution for a different OS and AE version, but might solve it: Mavericks and AE 12.0/12.1/12.2

Unistall any ACR Betas on your system you may have used. Also simply run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and reinstall everything Adobe.

Problems Installing After Effects CS6

I'm trying to install After Effects CS6 and it gets to 18% and just hangs there, I have tried about 6 times and it still hangs there.
Can anybody help me please?

turn off antivirus/antimalware and run the install file as an administrator.

restart your computer
reinstall

Desperately need help ASAP!!! Issue with installing After effects CS6 trial version

I downloaded the After Effects CS6 trial, but when I tried to run the patch installer, it told me to download adobe app manager. I did so, but when I try and run the patch installer again, it says in app manager that "Update failed. Update could not be applied." Please, I have really important work that I need to do, and I just cant get this thing to work. PLEASE HELP

it says I need to update, but when I click on updates within aam, it just says "you're good! No new updates" Is there somewhere specific I need to go to update? Because the only options I have are all & Updates :/

Not Able To Install After Effects Cs6 Trial

I am currently using a macbook pro 13 inch with mountain lion software at version 10.8.2
I am not able to install the after effects cs6 trial
I tried to turn off my proxies and vpn, but it still does not work
I also tried to restart my computer and tried to install it again but still nothing happens

I was able to install the trial on my imac with the same account, it opened normally

And not to point out the obvious: a 13" MBP may not meet the system requirements due to the limited screen resolution.

Will After Effects CS6 support the new EVGA GeForce GTX 680 for Mac?

With this new graphics card out will Adobe/Mac OS X add support for it in AE CS6 for excellerated graphics and ray traced 3D? Also, will Adobe bring back live 3D from Photoshop to AE?

Sorry, should have been more specific. I was referring to this desktop card the Gforce GTX 680 (mac edition) http://www.evga.com/articles/00730/. I just saw a recent article about its release but not sure how long it has been out and not sure what evga is. I'm in the learning phase of all the ins and outs of graphics card compatibility and the manufactures intent. I'm curious about inserting it into my Mac Pro 2010 and getting improved performance along with accelerating my processing in After Effects CS6 since it has an ATI card with no CUDA architecture. Want to beef my RAM too. So I'm wondering if this card is A. Compatible with my machine/OS and B. If Adobe will add it to its list of supported CUDA cards. Again, not sure if this is an Adobe thing or an OS thing, I heard on some tutorial video that Mac OS is part of the issue. I am aware of the current state of limbo Mac Pro users are in with Apple's hiatus from a major update to this line. But even with a major new release my employer won't be in the market for that kind of investment which sucks because I'd like to move to thunderbolt for my video storage. Personally, I'm investing in a MBP with the 650M card which I've done tests with and it beats my Mac Pro with having CUDA. As for 3D layers from Photoshop to AE it is just kind of makes sense as well as being a price point issue. If you can draw and create 3D objects in PS why not be able to animate them in AE? Just like being able to animate AI and PS layers, it should be one big happy Adobe family, no? Why pay for Cinema 4D if I don't need it for everyday advanced 3D work? I do however love the Element plug-in from Video Co-pilot and it works great so that is my solution for now, then 4D if I get into more advanced custom 3D. But still you should be able to make 3D objects in PS and bring them in to AE, it just makes sense.

After Effects CS6 not working on yosemite

I upgraded my MAC OS from Mavericks to Yosemite and After Effects suddenly does not work. It says that the version cannot be used in the current OS X version. I have searched and did all the suggested solution available on the internet. I have reinstalled and installed after effects CS 6 and downloaded the updates (11.0.4). But it says that the update is not applicable for the product. What is odd though, the other CS6 programs are working properly other than After Effects. What should I do? any help??

Updated AE CS6 to version 11.0.4. Did the trick! (Of course, I had to defeat the AdobeCrashDaemon using the Mac Activity utility before the update would install).

Can I install After Effects CS6 and CC12 on the same computer?

I'm using CS6 in a class, and one of my students used CC12 to complete his project. Since CS6 can't open a CC12 project, I want to install CC12 onto my computer to open and view it, but I want to make sure that it won't screw up my ability to open up everyone else's projects who are using CS6. Also, I don't want to use CC12 because our school only has CS6, and I don't want to do anything at home that I can't bring to school.
In the past, I've had trouble with installing dupliate versions of a software, and don't want to have to uninstall, and reinstall CS6...

This is standard practice for most users when they upgrade. There are no conflicts.

Install error on adobe after effects cs6 (error code 15)

I have Windows 8 and when I try to install after effects cs6 it gives me an error message saying ,"Inconsistency in the installer database. Please restart your computer and install again." it has error code of 15. How do I fix this? I've already tried restarting and lots of different things. Please respond if you have the same problem or know the answer please.

After Effects CS6 crashes on startup

I have installed After Effects CS6 trial version 11.0.4 on Windows 7 (64bit) and it crashes on startup every time saying "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <16948> <ae.blitpipe> <2> making new context"
I have a Nvidia 4000m graphics card with all drivers up to date and i have searched the internet with no success. Someone please help?!

Why are my reflections brighter in After Effects CS6?

My first project in After Effects CS6 and the new Ray Tracer Renderer has taken a turn for the worse.
I brought in AI text and converted it to Shape Layers. Extruded it and placed it in front of a "wall" that set to receive Reflections.
You can clearly see in the reflection that the sides of the letters are waay brighter than they should be and really aren't reflecting properly.
Anyone have any clue what I'm doing wrong?

I have one ambient light and one point light in front of the text.
I turned the shadows off so that the reflections could be seen better for this example.
I'll add more lights and see if it does a better job, just out of curiosity. I still need to use my current set up though.
I did find out something about ... I forgot what they called it. Adobe's "power saver" something or other. When you turn on reflections things automatically get darker and you need to boost your lights.
Still, though, if that's the cause then I would think the reflections in the wall would be darkened by the same amount.

Please follow the following steps :
1. Disable the startup services : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html
2. Use the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool from the below link and try uninstall all the CS6 application.

3. After using the cleaner tool, please rename the following folders located at the below location :
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
if you use 32 bit system it would be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
Rename the following folders ;
Adobe PCD -> Adobe PCDold
backup -> backupold
caps -> capsold
Then run the setup file again.
