Trouble installing Camera Raw 6.7 update in CS5

I cannot install the Camera Raw 6.7 update on CS5.....the installing box just stalls and I need to use the Task Manager to shut it down.

How did you get the software to install it?  Via the Help - Updates menu in Photoshop?

  • Error installing Camera Raw 7.2 Update

I am trying to install the Camera Raw 7.2 Update for Photoshop CS6. When I try to install I get this error message:
    Photoshop Camera Raw 7.2
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M2I218
I have rebooted and tried again, but I got the same error. I downloaded the update manually, since it isn't available in the Application Manager.

Please review the installation log for the update being applied.  You can find instructions on how to review the installation log at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Problems installing Camera Raw 6.6 update

Hi, I have CS5 Design Premium, and have just tried without success to install the Camera Raw 6.6 update.  If I try using the automatic updater in CS5, it starts the process, then after a short while it stops and gives me the message: "Please close the following applications to continue:  Adobe Bridge CS5 (Bridge.exe)".  If I close Bridge or Photoshop, and then click continue, I just get the same message - as if there is a ghost copy of the program running somewhere in the background.  I've tried downloading the file manually, then clicking on the Adobe Patch Installer as instructed on the Adobe website, but it just takes me straight to the Updater screen in Bridge or Photoshop, and I then get the same message again.  It's a vicious circle - how do I get out of it?  I've done exactly as I'm supposed to, but it's telling me I've got a program open even I've shut it down...  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

ColinAusterberry I am unsure if you are using Windows or Mac OS but I would recommend you complete the following to allow the update to proceed.
Solution 1: Exit Adobe Bridge manually.
In Windows, right-click the Bridge CS5 or CS4 icon in the Notification Area of the Start Bar in Windows, and choose Exit Bridge. If you still cannot close Bridge, open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete. In Task Manager, choose Bridge and select End Task.
In Mac OS, Ctrl-click the Bridge CS5 or CS4 icon in the dock and choose Quit.
Solution 2: Force Adobe Bridge to quit.
In Windows, right-click the Start Bar and choose Task Manager. Select the Processes tab, and choose to end the Bridge.exe process.
In Mac OS, choose Apple menu > Force Quit, and choose to close Adobe Bridge.
Note: Solutions 1 and 2 allow Adobe Bridge to continue to start at login.
Solution 3: Disable the option to start Adobe Bridge at login.
In Bridge CS5 or CS4, choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe BridgeCS5 or CS4 > Preferences (Mac OS).
    Choose Advanced.
    Deselect Start Bridge At Login.
You can reenable this option at any time.

  • Troubles with update mechanism in Photoshop CS6 installing Camera Raw 7.3 update

    Greetings,
Attempted an update using the update mechanism from Bridge.  CS6 Design Premium on Mac.  Received a couple error messages when it completed.  Foolishly I did not write down the details. I thought I could just run the update again.  When I attempted this, received mesage saying I was updated. But when I use Camera Raw plug-in within Bridge, it says I am still using version 7.2...
How may I attain a sucessful Camera Raw 7.3 upgrade?
I also use Lightroom which sucessfully upgraded,to 4.3 (with Camera Raw 7.3), but I often too use the Camera Raw Plug-in from within Bridge and would like to be on the same 'level'.
I thank you for any insight.
    Best regards,
    Alan

  • Cannot install Camera Raw 7.2 update

    Hi there,
i used abobe download asstant to download and install elements 11. then used elements - help - updates to download and install raw 7.2. however i cannot open any of my rx100 raw .arw files.
camera raw is not listed in   help - about plugin
im using windows xp sp3, and have two physical internal hard drives ( C drive for OS, f drive for data/program files)
i asked adobe to install elements into F:\Program Files\Adobe
i can see that elements auto installs some data to
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe
including what looks like the raw plugin post update
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw
only thing i can think of is rule out two drive issue, uninstall and reintall all to c drive to see if fixes to help elements 'see' plugin
or is there any way to 'force' adobe to see plugin?
    any assistance appreciated
    many thanks

    you will see here
    http://www.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/software/elements11/trialfaq.html
thats confirms pse11 is a fully funtional software package and the trial version contains no limitations - uninstall/reinstall works as normal (i have currently done this three times)
pse11 remembers how far through the trial you are on the same pc
when you first download pse with download assistant it asks for a download directory and this directory subsequently contans all the program files necessary (1gb+) to reinstall pse11 should it be required.
Barabra - i had alread hit uninstall so continued...!
i tried installing to c drive only and same symptoms where pse11 works as normal but not picking up the plugin . but i think i may have found the issue when trying to copy the orig pse11 download/installation folder to another xp machine to rule out this one as the cause. when it got to data19.cab it hit an crc error, so i think my root problem is the orig download could well have some corrupt files.
so currently going back to drawing board on pc2 with XP for a fresh download/install to see how i get on (and this one only has one hard drvie anyway)
also possiby of interest after a little digging last night. within editor. Edit - Preferences - plugins it is possible to specificy to pse11 where to look for plugins. i don't think will help me right at this moment though.
    many thanks,
    Rob

  • Unable to install Camera RAW 8.5 update

    Hi...
I'm trying to update my Photoshop CC camera raw to the latest version 8.5.
Every time I install the ACR 8.5 update. It is stated as successful. But when I open a raw file, I can see that it is still 8.0.
I have tried uninstalling everything, ie Photoshop, Bridge & CC desktop app, than reinstall. But the outcome is still the same.
    I'm using Windows 8.1.

    Hi,
    You can try this link:

  • Trouble Installing Camera Raw 4.1 on Windows Vista Computer

I have CS3 and I used Adobe Updater to upgrade to Camera Raw 4.1. I already have 4.0 installed. For some reason, I get an error when I try to install 4.1. The updater gives no reason, just that it cannot (after several tries) install 4.1 on my computer. I have a PC using Windows Vista Home Premium. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Peter

Thanks for the response. You are assuming, however, that I was not using the Adobe Updater. That was where I was having a problem -- the Updater was not allowing the ACR to update to 4.1. I checked with Adobe directly, and they recommended not using the Adobe Updater to update this particular upgrade. Instead, they suggested I manually update ACR, which I have done successfully. I also received that advice from another person on another forum or newsgroup. It worked.
Windows Vista, by the way, has its own unzipping utility embedded in its OS. It worked fine unzipping the ACR ugrade and the DNG converter, when I used it to install ACR 4.1.
    Thanks again for responding.

    > im positive the plug in is in the right place
Hmmmm. Does the path to that place begin at the root level, i. e. with the NameOfYourHardDisk?
If it begins with "YourUsername", it's in the wrong folder.
    CORRECT:
    NameOfYourHardDrive//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS2/File Formats/
From the "Debugging" thread in the ACR forum:
The new location for Adobe Camera Raw 3.x is:
    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS2/File Formats/
Note: that the Library folder referred to above is that found at root level and NOT the User/Library folder.

  • Camera-raw plug-in update for CS5.5

I've just bought a Fuji XE-1 camera and I've read that one needs the 7.4 version of the camera raw plug-in to handle its (RAF) files.
However, when I try to update to this version I get the message that this is not ment for my CS5.5
Why is this and what should I do to be able to  work with the RAF-files?
I use the 64-bit version and converting the files to DNG seems to be not the solution.

The Fuji XE-1 was first supported in Camera Raw 7.2.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Camera Raw 7 and above is only compatible with Photoshop CS6 and above. It will not work with CS5.5.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
    Your options:
Upgrade to Photoshop CS6 to get Camera Raw 7+
    Join the Creative Cloud
Download the free DNG converter and convert all Raw files from the XE-1 to DNG then edit the DNGs in CS5.5

  • Trouble installing Camera Raw on new computer

Bought a new desktop today, which is running Win7 x64 Home Premium. Previously was running a laptop with Win7 x64 Ultimate.
I've installed CS5 with the appropriate patches, and attempted to install ACR7.1. The Adobe Application Manager launched and errors with:
"Updates could not be applied. Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator."
First of all, is this a Windows priviledges error, or an Adobe App Manager error?
If it's the former, I am logged in locally with the Admin account. I have tried running the patch installer "Run as Administrator" with the same result.
What could be causing this and how do I remedy it?
    Many thanks!

How was it then that I was able to run ACR on CS5?
Only ACR 6.x can ever be used in CS5.  Period.
Use the Update menu item from the Help menu in Photoshop to update ACR to the latest version  of ACR that can run with CS5, which is indeed ACR 6.7.  I mistyped above "6.6".

  • Trouble installing Camera Raw plugin

I've downloaded the 5_7_updater for CS4 and when I try to run it, I'm getting a message that Adobe Bridge is running.  I've restarted my computer, but it's not helping. Has any one else run into this problem?

Do you have bridge set to start when your computer starts? Look under preferences/advanced.

  • Camera Raw 6.3 update failed

I have Photoshop CS 5 running Mac OS 10.10.2 I'm trying to install Camera Raw 6.3 update, but I get an error message: "Camera Raw 6.3 Update failed. How do I fix the problem?
    Thanks

Now you have to download Adobe SCR 8.7 wit their DNG converter and create DNG file for your CR2 file.  Support for the Canon T5i was added to ACR 7.4 wich is not compatible with CS5.  If you wish to continue using CS5 you can convert the DNG files with ACR 6.7 in CS5.

  • I'm trying to install the Camera Raw plug-in into Photoshop CS5 but it keeps failing

Hi - I'm trying to install Camera Raw plug-in into Photoshop CS5 but it keeps failing - I don't keep any reasons at all. The product is registered - please help!

Which version of Camera Raw? Which camera?
Familiarize yourself with these two tables
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
They tell you which version of Camera Raw is required to support your camera. The also tell you which version of Camera Raw is compatible with your CS5 (up to version 6.7 only).
It may be that the version of Camera Raw you need is not compatible with CS5.
