Trouble installing Coldfusion 9 Builder

I already installed Coldfusion 9 and was attempting to install Coldfusion9 Builder when I encountered this error message: 'NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.' Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?

There shouldn't be a problem running on Windows 7: it installed OK on my Win7 machine.

I am running Windows 7 and have already installed Coldfusion 9. When I go to install Coldfusion Builder I get an error even before the installer loads up. The error I am getting is as follow:

Can I install Coldfusion Builder as a plugin for Flash Builder?

I already have a licensed copy of Flash Builder 4.x installed, trying to install ColdFusion Builder as a plugin for Flash Builder. When I installed CFB, I selected install as a eclipse plugin and entered the path to the FB directory. Now I can't figure out how to invoke/add the CFB plugin in FB..

You should have uninstalled rather than simply deleting CFB 2 plugins manually .
Please do the following to fix it now. (If you have used Uninstaller to uninstall that would have cleaned all these things ):
Take a backup and delete the file: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Uninstall/{b8c666c3-1efd-11b2-bf3c-e04be4b2b610}.db
And you will be able to install CFB as plugin to Eclipse now.

Installing coldfusion builder 3

Trying it install coldfusion builder 3 as an upgrade on a new computer but when I put in the previosu serial number for cfb1 its saying its not valid. However it is a valid key.

Can't Install ColdFusion Builder 2 Hot Fix

I am trying to install the ColdFusion Builder 2 Hot Fix. When starting the InstallAnywhere program I get this message: Unable to execute the desired program. Please get another copy of the installer and try again." Does anybody have a solution?

Can you please rename the installer as follows and then try installing?

Installing Coldfusion Builder 2 from License Certificate

I just got a software license certificate for CF Builder 2. How do I install it? Is there a link on Adobe to enter the license and serial number?

You need only the serial number, which is printed on your certificate.
If you have bought the program in Adobe Store, Adobe creates download links for your software in your account, which should be presented in "My Orders". Your serial numers are presented there, too. Download the installer from these links and use your serial number during the installation (in fact, ColdFusion Builder requires the serial after the installation, on the 1st launch).
If you bought it from a private reseller, simply download a trial version from http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=coldfusion_builder and enter your serial number after the installation, on the first launch. There was no difference between trial and downloaded from Adobe Store installation packs.
If you are using the trial version just now, the program asks the serial during each launch. Simply enter it.

Trouble installing "Form Builder" with Oracle Developer 6/6i

I get the following "Error Info" message first:
"path vrf(86): Unbound variable 'path_too_long_prompt'"
Then the following:
"The Oracle Installer cannot update the system path variable to %new- path% because it is too long. Please restrict your system path to 127 characters and make sure D:\Oracle\ORADEV\bin is included in your path."
Note that the reference to the D:\ drive is correct, but how do I correct this problem with the path variable being too long?
"Form Builder" does not get installed but the "Report Builder" which follows this step in the process installed just fine.

Yes, you can install. Install Oracle 9i DB and D2k on different HOME. Then, configure D2K tnsnames.ora as per 9iDB tnsnames.

Trouble Installing ColdFusion 8

Hello, I just downloaded and tried to install the developer
version of CF8. It said the install worked properly but for one
'nonfatal' error - nonfatal, maybe, but the cfm pages which were
working yesterday in CF5 are not working now (HTTP error 505).
I first learned about this error at the end of the
installation process, in a little window saying 'An unhandled
exception ('System.Net.Sockets.SocketException') occurred in
JNBDotNetSide.exe [2656]', and offering to debug it using
Microsoft's .NET 2005 (I have that installed as well, since at
first I thought I would have a contract using that - which I would
have had to learn, since I'm ignorant of it - that contract didn't
pan out, but I do have a new contract using ColdFusion, in which I
was a good programmer 5 years ago).
Then the closing dialog of the installation process also
notified me of the error, and referred me to the installation log,
which stated: 'Web Server Configuration error: JNDI port 2930 for
server ColdFusion is not active'. Elsewhere, the log recommended
that I run wsconfig.exe. When I do that, the only options I see are
Add... and Exit. And when I click on Add..., I am told:
Could not connect to any JRun/ColdFusion servers on host
localhost. Possible causes:
o Server not running
- Start Macromedia JRun4 or ColdFusion 8 server
o Server running
- JNDI listen port in jndi.properties is locked by TCP/IP
firewall on server
- host restriction in security.properties blocking
communication with server
What should I do?
I should point out:
(a) Although I was once an excellent Application programmer,
and should be again once I get back in practice, I have never known
much about operating systems, etc., and the wider environment in
which I write code. If it's a simple matter of starting the
Coldfusion 8 server, could someone tell me how? For what it's
worth, in Windows Task Manger, Processes, I don't see anything
which I would recognize as the CF8 server, although I do see
CF8DotNetsvc.exe.
(b) I currently use localhost:8080 for my local web host;
localhost:80 stopped working after a friend helped me set up my
computer to run a visual phone application (D-link); that required
it taking over the usual octal IP address, as I recall
(198.xxx.xxx.1 maybe? Sorry, I don't remember exactly, but I
thought this might be relevant).
(c) When I installed CF8, I selected IIS, which is installed
and working on my PC.

Thanks - I poked around a bit and found cfstart.bat in the
'bin' subdirectory under the ColdFusion 8 directory. Sure enough,
when I ran that, partway through a window popped up (evidently from
McAfee) stating that that port was blocked, and would I like to
un-block it. When I said Yes, the process continued, and ended with
the claim that the ColdFusion server was 'ready'. However, nothing
with the initial letters 'cf' appears in the Processes tab of Task
Manager (except for the DotNet one I mentioned earlier. And the web
pages still don't work. I'll be away from my desk for a while,
after which I will try to re-install CF8. Then maybe it will set up
whatever else it needs to do, now that the firewall block has been
removed...

It is almost like the application thinks I am still using an unlicensed version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times as well as rebuilt my workspaces from scratch and yet none of this has fixed the issues. I am on a Windows 7 enterprise 64 bit machine.

Well today I re-installed Flash Builder 4 & ColdFusion Builder(as I got the student licence). I fist installed Flash Builder 4, and then I installed ColdFusion Builder as a plugin into Flash Builder 4, and it works!
I am so happy. Maybe I should of tried the eclipse way again, but I heard many people on twitter saying this way worked for them with no issues, and it did for me too, I am so happy

Multiple instances of ColdFusion Builder on the same system?

Hi Folks,
Four of us work remotely in my company. It is not uncommon for us to all remote desktop into a system reserved for our use and three of us be using CFEclipse at the same time. We recently installed ColdFusion Builder on this system and found that it would only allow one instance of ColdFusion Builder to run. When attempting to start a second instance CFBuilder would show the flash screen and then nothing more.
Is anyone aware of workarounds or other changes that will enable us to run multiple instances of CFBuilder on the same system?

Will look into this issue.
But for now as a workaround, whenever you want to launch CF Builder if there is .bolt file please delete the .bolt it from
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe ColdFusion Builder\ . And you will be able to launch it even while other has kept it open.

If you have 7zip you can extract all the files from the fb_XXXX.exe, then run the installer directly. Odds on you have a corrupt fb file as all the adobe installers play nicely with windows 7.

ColdFusion Builder won't start at all

After installing Coldfusion Builder and Flash Builder as standalone installations on WinXP, I can't start either of them.
In the Coldfusion Builder folder where the the .exe is located, I get the hs_pid.log log files that you would normally see from a problem in eclipse. I get the same exact problem with Flash Builder with the same hs error logs after the program fails. Obviously they are suffering the same problem and the root of the problem is the embedded eclipse they are using.
Any ideas? I realize that it would be difficult to debug considering the complete lack of details about why the apps fail. That's due to Adobe offering no user feedback when they fail.
My guess is that it's a problem with the JRE in the installs, but there's no debugging info to find out what is going on. When I try FlashBuilderC.exe standalone, I get the following:

I can run Flashbuilder as an eclipse plugin, and I suspect that I could run CFBuilder as a plugin also but that's not really what I want to do. It's just frustrating that products that cost thousands of dollars fail silently, offer no recovery, and won't run at all from a fresh standalone install.

I'm using 1.6 for my Java stuff and for the plugin versions of CFB and FB4. Each builder standalone has it's own JRE which appears to be the same version (except for FB4 which is only a couple builds off). Both builders reference the same internal error file os_windows.cpp. As I mentioned earlier, both IDEs are currently running fine as eclipse plugins in my home directory.

Help : installer has detected one or more adobe coldfusion builder plugins

I uninstalled coldfusion builder from flash builder and then when re-install I get a message:

How do I fix this?

As a caution to save your time please follow the following release note:
82284 - If you install ColdFusion Builder as a plug-in to Flash Builder and decide to uninstall ColdFusion Builder, make sure ColdFusion perspective is not active in Flash Builder. Failing which, some features may not work after restarting Flash Builder or ColdFusion Builder's perspective will not come up if installed again.
I did the wrong thing here and I can't ever get coldfusion to reappear after unstalling into FB

Aptana - Can coldfusion builder be installed into aptana?

Can coldfusion builder be installed into aptana? Has anyone attempted this? I currently have sites that have a mix of php and cfml files and would like to be able to use a single ide for all.

As of now, ColdFusion Builder is not supported on the released version of Aptana.
