Trouble Installing (Insert Disc 2)

Hi, i recently downloaded the trial of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Elements (from Adobe's website), I want to see what this program is like before purchasing. The files extracted with no problems, but once near the end of the install i get a prompt telling me to insert disc 2, now because this is the downloaded trial, there is no disc to. I am running Windows XP Media Edition (SP2)and am out of ideas. I have tried ruffly 3 times, re-downloading every time, and still I still get the same message. What am i doing wrong here?

Have seen this posted as a problem within the last month. Try searching this forum or look back 2-3 pages for similar topic. Sorry can't remember the solution.

  • Trouble installing CS5 discs in second Mac

Thanks in advance for considering our 2 problems:
1.My wife purchased a 3 disk version "student and teacher licensing" CS5 Design Standard 8 months ago. The coupon code and serial number retrievel went smoothly, and the 3 disks installed perfectly on her late 2010 Macbook Pro, OS 10.6.8.  Now she would like to install it on a brand new 21.5" Imac, OS 10.7.2. The grey Acrobat 9 pro disc opened correctly, but the 2 orange CS5 disks make a whirring noise for a few seconds, go silent, and the disk icon never appears, as though the computer doesn't recognize the disk. Is this because of the newer, updated OS (the current CS5 system requirements listed elsewhere on this web site don't list OS 10.7 as a viable OS)?  Will she have to buy another CS5, or is there a workaround?  If it matters, Photoshop is version 12.0 x64.....  Any advice?
    2. We visited the adobe site earlier today to confirm the serial numbers retrieved several months ago. After carefully entering the product code (3 attempts), a message appeared that the code was invalid. Yet, when I click on the "lost serial number" retrieval button, the same code is recognized perfectly, as the correct serial number is displayed. In effect, one page approves all my numbers, and another page calls my coupon code invalid. Is there a live person that can be contacted to run the codes and serial numbers to confirm them? Many thanks for taking the time to at least read my inquiries.

    Hi,
In reference to your 1st query, I would suggest trying to navigate to the disk through the finder and copying the contents of the disc to your desktop. It will help us narrow down to the cause of the issue. In case your are successful in copying the files, you can initiate installation from your desktop.
For your second query, I would recommend contacting our Support Team.
You can contact support by calling the phone numbers listed on this page "Contact Adobe Support" or by using this link to get in touch with our chat representatives: http://adobe.ly/tl8Vx7.

  • Having trouble installing from the disc

I am trying to installAdobe Acrobat XI Pro from the disc.  The install process starts but then stops and says, "Insert disc."  I already have inserted the disc.  No matter how many times I indicate the disc is inserted, the installation stalls.

Could be a faulty CD. But try copying the entire disk to a folder on your desktop, then install from there. If you still get a message to insert a disk, please let us know the full wording.

  • Trouble Installing Photoshop 5.5

    Hello,
I am having trouble installing Photoshop 5.5 on my PowerPC. I have the upgrade disk, and the required Photoshop 3.0 disk (however, it's in Windows format). It asks for evidence of a previous version, such as a disk. The screen also says that if necessary, I can eject the 5.5 disk in order to insert the disk, but it will not let me, saying that it can't eject because the disk is in use! Thus, I cannot install PS 5.5 because I need the 3.0 disk, which I can't put in! Please help!
    Thanks,
    Abby

Hi, Abby. I've never heard of anyone updating a Windows version of Photoshop using a Macintosh updater, and it would be a big surprise to me if that were possible. The Mac updater expects to find a previous Mac version of PS installed on the Mac, complete with a proper Mac serial number. Finding nothing of the kind, it will probably never be willing to do anything for you, even if you manage to get past the chicken-and-egg problem described in your post. In short, I suspect your Windows version of Photoshop can only be updated after you install it on a Windows machine, and then only to a higher version of PS for Windows.
If you could get Adobe to swap your Windows PS 3 disc for a Mac PS 3, 4 or 5 disc, then install the Mac version, and then run the Mac PS 5.5 updater, I think you'd be in business. But I doubt that Adobe will be interested in doing that.

  • Trouble installing Elements 10

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and have had trouble installing it on my PC (Windows 7)
The process and progress I encountered was as follows:
    I uninstalled the trial version I had been testing;
    I inserted Disc 1 and followed the prompts detailing location and serial number and un-ticking Load a Trial version;
    After a period of downloading I received the message (via a pop up box) to insert Disc 2;
    At this stage the disc tray did not open automatically (nor could I open it) and it appeared that there were files still being downloaded (I could see a frame with download activity);
    Attempts to close the prompt box resulted in an incomplete installation;
After three attempts (uninstalling prior to each attempt) with the same thing happening I finally got a message that download had been completed.
    This occurred notwithstanding that I did not have an opportunity to load Disc 2 & 3;
Whilst the program is working I am concerned that some of the features will not work as I never got to upload anything off Discs 2 & 3.
Can I check if the program has downloaded correctly and fully?
Should I uninstall and start again?
If I do and encounter the problem of not being able to load Disc 2 etc is there a solution?
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

    Thanks Ken
That is the answer I was hoping to hear.
    Appreciate your help.

  • Having trouble installing LG slim portable DVD player to my new MacBook Air?

Having trouble installing LG slim portable DVD player to my new MacBook Air?

No installation required. Just plug it in to a USB port and it should work. If it doesn't then either the drive is no good or the USB port has failed.
The DVD drive will not show up on the desktop or in Finder unless you have a CD or DVD disc inserted in it. It will show in Disk Utility when it is connected to one of the USB ports.
Could also be your Air is not supplying enough power to it from just one USB port. In that case you would need a Y USB cable that connects to 2 USB ports at the same time to supply the correct amount of power to the drive.

  • Hard Drive Replacement - Installing Recovery Discs

Hard drive crashed. Bought a new seagate 500g and installed. Ordered recovery discs for win 7 from lenovo. Four discs received - 1) startup recovery 2) operating system 3) drivers and applications 4) additional recovery disc. I power up the pc with disc 1 in. Message at the bottom of the screen that files are loading along with the white progress bar. Looking good to this point. When the progress bar is full it just stops and does nothing else. Does not prompt me to do anything else. If I wait 3 or 4 minutes the starting windows message appears. It just hangs there. If I wait another 3 or 4 minutes the entire process starts all over. If left alone it would go through that cycle all day. I am never prompted to do anything else. I have tried inserting disc 2 at all points along the way when disc 1 stops. I have tried booting up with disc 2 in. I get a message of operating system not found (of course because disc 2 is the os and it hasn't installed yet). I cannot get beyond disc 1 loading files. Need some support before I do something crazy like go to the geek squad.

  • Photoshop cs4 access denied when trying to install from disc in Windows 7 64bit.

Photoshop cs4 access denied when trying to install from disc in Windows 7 64bit. I tried it in
safe mode and it starts to install but get an error there as well.
    What do I do?

So when you put the disk in it won't run correctly? When the disk is inserted you should have a window pop up with 2 options. 1 to install and the other to see what is on the disk. Choose to explore or open the disk. Go to the CS4 folder where the photoshop .exe file is (that will run the setup), right click on the .exe file and choose run as Admin and it should start. See if it will install. If not then read below.
I am not sure how far you got in the install before so chances are you will have to run the CS4 cleanup utility. 2 levels to run at but don't use 1 or 2 just type in the number 3.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html
You may need to run the windows installer cleanup utility too
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Before you try to reinstall the software ensure that adobe reader is not installed. If it is remove it. It has caused issues in the past with vista and CS4 installs.
Also turn off windows Defender and any anti-virus software. You can keep UAC on in Windows 7.
During the CS4 install at 90 percent it will almost stop and may take 5 to 10 mins to finish. This is normal. What a pain huh......
    After install is finished, reboot
After reboot, go to the CS4 64 bit or 32 bit icon (depends on 32 or 64 bit Windows 7) in start area, right click on CS4 64 bit (if you have windows 7 64 bit) and choose properties, compatibility tab and then check run as Admin at the bottom area. Hit apply, ok to close out.
Now start CS4 and run the updater.

  • Trouble installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

    Hi,
I just wrote that I finally installed 2 of 3 discs. It would have been helpful to know the content of these discs. I presumed disc 1 is essential, disc 2 in my set is the trila for Adobe Premiere Elements 10 but I do not know what disc 3 contains? I needed help for disc 1, was able finally to install disc 2 but had trouble ejecting the disc following installation and had to shut down the computer with disc still inside in order to get it to eject.
I need to know what the content is for disc 3? and why is it so difficult to install these discs? I have all the system requirements,

I'm running Windows 7 on an HP 6140f desktop.  I just installed PSE 10, as well; had bought it from Amazon almost two months ago.
Using the "Multimedia Optical Drive," I installed PSE from Disk 1 -- everything went fine.  However, when I tried to eject Disk 1, I got this message: "An error occurred while ejecting 'DVD-RW Drive (E:) PSE 10'.
I have shut down and restarted, have run the CD/DVD troubleshooter AND the Device troubleshooter.  No luck.
Any suggestions before I disable the device and/or reload the driver?  Anyone else running into these problems on the initial install?

  • For Users Having Trouble Installing...

If you are having trouble installing and have access to either another Mac or can Boot your old OS, try installing Pacifist from http://www.charlessoft.com/
Then pop your Leopard disc into it and open the disc using the third button on the main menu
It will scan the disc when it shows you a list of packages hit the "Verify" button at the top of the window. Then go do something for another 30-45 mins. When you get back it will show a detailed list of files missing, or that don't exist.
I am missing 124,891 files according to the report and 20,000 of my files have different checksums. I know that my disc is DOA and I recommend that if you are having that problem as well, to schedule and Appointment and get your disc exchanged.
    Hope this helps.

do you have a volume license?  or a single user license?

  • Finder does not recognize inserted disc [Solution]

After working with AppleCare and suddenly stumbling on a solution to this problem, I wanted to provide a solution for the problem on the discussion boards in case someone has the same problem.
    Problem Description
When inserting a blank disc (various forms of media including DVD's and CD's) and selecting the Finder to open mount the disc on the desktop, the Finder fails to mount or load the disc with an error (no error number) indicating that the disc is not recognized.
    Problem Analysis
After various attempts at fixing the problem, I discovered that the Retrospect Express Backup software I use to perform backups to my external Hard Disk was interferring with the Finder's ability to mount media. Retrospect installs a plug-in for the Finder which analyzes inserted discs in order to mount specially formatted Retrospect discs which contain backed up files. While unproven, I believe the plug-in is interferring with the Finder's behavior.
    Workarounds
While the workarounds to this problem do not always work, I have usually found that one out of the options will work when the others do not. It also happens that the Finder usually performs as expected regardless after one of the workarounds has been successful for each reboot of the computer. That is, usually I have to perform one of the workarounds every time I restart my computer.
The first solution is simply to remove all external disks that might be handled by Retrospect (such as an external drive used for backups), and then to mount the new blank disc in the Finder.
The second solution is to start the retrospect software while inserting the blank media. The retrospect software should then analyze the media and take control of it. When you quit the Retrospect software, the software should then relinquish control of the media and the Finder will have the opportunity to access the disc free from interference.
    Additional Notes and Requests
Ideally I would like to find out what's going wrong here specifically and find a good way for Retrospect and the Finder to work together. If anyone knows of newer updates or other such things that might help with this, then that would be great. Another thing to note is that this problem only started after the 10.4.9 update to Mac OS.
If anyone has any other workarounds or comments on this solution, do please reply with them, as these workarounds are far from ideal.

  • Trouble installing hp photosmart printer

Having trouble installing a new hp photosmart c4680 on my ibook g4 running 10.4.11. Computer doesn't recognize the printer is connected. Used the install disk without success. Downloaded drivers from hp website without success. Any suggestions?

In some cases, you could've tried using the printer without installing its drivers from
the included software disc; because OS X has several printers already supported.
The likelihood of this support being already in the computer would depend on a few
factors, such as the actual age of the printer's driver technologies. Often, a printer
whose driver set includes more recent OS X version drivers, also includes those for
older OS X systems, too. I've usually tried the printer (attached, turned on, then boot
the Mac) and with it running, hooked up to the Mac, I've looked into the Page Setup
and Print items in an open application's File menu, and see if the printer is listed.
Special features included, such as extra editing software for images, proprietary
options exclusive to the brand, may be packaged in the software disc included
with the printer. In the case of the HP printers, especially some all-in-one models
with scanners, fax, copier, and printer, these can be a hassle to set up. For mine,
I had to go to the HP support site and download a huge 300MB file of drivers for it.
On the other hand, my Epson photo printer just works; even over a USB wireless
plug-in on my base station or direct to the wired USB networked hub nearby. No
need to install any drivers for several brands, even in OS X 10.4.11.
If you have more than two sets of similar drivers, you may have to research to
be sure the one(s) you have are able to work in the OS X in the computer. Any
others should be removed from the computer. Some of the software extras, to
include stitching panoramas and third-party editing options should be checked
into before using them, to be sure they don't install more when launched than
you may want. Installing unnecessary or problematic software should be avoided.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Having trouble installing iMovie HD on a new Mac with Mavericks

I am having trouble installing iMovie HD on a new Mac with Mavericks.
I know that iMovie HD works with Mavericks because we are using it on other Macs successfully.   However, those machines were upgraded starting with OS 10.6.   In other words, iMovie HD was installed on these Macs when the Macs had Snow Leopard.
When I use the iLife 06 disc, I am presented with “You can't open the application “iLife 06” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
I understand that iMovie HD  is universal, not PowerPC.  How can I get past this to install iMovie HD.
    Thanks

    OK, I made some progress.
I used Pacifist (Shareware) to open the iMovie HD 6 install packages from the iLife '06 installer DVD (iMovie.pkg and iMovieThemes_Tiger.pkg) and let Pacifist install them to the right places.
But doesn't iMovie HD 6 require QuickTime 7 to work ?

  • Problem installing multi-disc software

I've got a 15" Macbook Pro running Leopard (10.5.2) and Bootcamp with Windows XP. I use the windows partition primarily for PC games. Games that have a single disk (e.g., Half-Life) install and run just fine. I am having trouble installing games that come on more than one disc though (e.g., Call of Duty). I put Disc 1 in and the installation begins. It then asks me to eject Disc 1, put in Disc 2 and hit "OK". I do this and the installation hangs. If I go to the Windows task manager it says the Installation program is "not responding". This has been a problem with multiple games.
I got around this problem with one game by copying the entire contents of the 2nd CD to the hard drive and then directing the installation program to the files. But with Call of Duty it doesn't give me and option to tell it where the files are, it just says hit "OK" so I don't think this same approach will work.
    Suggestions? Thanks!

Autorun.exe is a Windows/PC executable, not a Mac OS X file. You cannot run .exe files in Mac OS X.
Generally the installer will ask for any additional discs required. If none were requested during the normal installation, then the other discs aren't required for the Mac installation. This should all be explained in the installation or user guide that came with the software. However, if you feel you are having an installation problem then you need to contact the software developer for assistance. These discussions do not provide support for third-party products.

  • I am having trouble installing a Roland UM-One driver that is supposed to be compatible with this OS (10.7.1).  Any suggestions?

I am having trouble installing a Roland UM-One midi interface driver  that is supposed to be compatible with this OS (10.7.2).  Any suggestions?

Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty.
