  • Is anyone else having trouble installing iOS 7 on to iPad 2?

Hi, Twice now I have attempted to update to iOS 7 on my iPad 2 but both times it has failed to install, what is happening is its successfully downloading iOS 7 it then begins to verify the update and it then shuts the iPad down to begin installing iOS 7 but once it has finished nothing has happened and its still running iOS 6.1.3.  Anybody know a fix/solution or could it be that my poor iPad 2 which will be 2 years old this December be past it best? I hope not as I've never had an issue with it!

I was unsuccessful with my first attempt to update to iOS7last night & went to bed in disgust. I tried again this morning & was happy to see the "Update was Successful" message as I headed off to work. I did not have a chanceto explore the changes until tonight & I have found that I cannot log into my Apple account from the iPad (I am writing this on my iMac)- no access to One-to-One, iTunes, etc. When I click the link to "Forgot your Apple ID" or "Forgot your password", I find myself on a site telling me to enable Javascript in my iPad settings (it is already enabled) and, a link to identify the country where I am located(?), which loops me back to the log in page.......It is Groundhog Day!
Apple supports tells me that I, and those having trouble like me, are statisitical anamolies (sp?), & then directed me to scrub the iPad; take it back to its default, factory settings & then install iOS7. My response was that I had much better things to do with my Friday evenings than mess with a faulty product, be it the iPad or the iOS, and that we statisitical anamolies should be compensated for our frustration , as wellas the fact that we bring some of the bugs and flaws of Apple's products to their attention. The current arrangement is that, by ppurchasing Apple's products at a premium price, I am paying the company to let me troubleshoot their products. Seems backwards!
I am done venting my frustration for now.

  • After installing IOS 5 can't get mail to work...

I have been having trouble installing IOS 5 on my Ipad and part of the problem may have been with my home computer... In any event, I finally was able to get it on but the result is a bit discouraging. All my apps are there, but I lost everything on them... not that there was much... but my main concern is that I can't get Mail to work... I go in settings and when I click on mail... it just goes back to the page with all the icons... I have tried reinitializing and all... but nothing works... Any idea what is the issue and how to fix it ?

First try rebooting your iPad.  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.  If that does not help, you may need to restore your iPad in iTunes.  You can restore from a backup (assuming you have a backup to restore from).

Since installing IOS 7.03, I have trouble sending messages now.
    Starts sending but never completes.
    Anyone have any solutions?

    Addendum
Sending straight from the mail client in any/all of the Yahoo accounts works just fine. The bug just seems to happen when sending links from Safari.

  • TS1398 Is anyone having trouble connecting to WiFi since installing iOS 6.0.1

I can not connect my iPhone 4S to any WiFi since I installed iOS 6.0.1.
I use three Mac products: Mac Air; iPad 3; and an iPhone 4s.  I have not been able to connect to any WiFi since I installed 6.0.1 on my iPhone.  All other devices have connected successfully to at least 7 or 8 other networks but the iPhone does not.  I am writing this request for help from Pikesville, Kentucky. I live in Syracuse New York.  I have been on the road since Monday. I have been in and out of motels and client's offices all week.  All other devices connected sucessfully at all other locations------except, the iPhone does not.
The iPhone does not see local networks immediately.  I have to turn the Wi-Fi off and back on in Settings.  I get a dialogue box response immediatley (I mean instantaneoulsy)  upon selecting the network once it finds it. The message states, "Unable to join the network "HolidayInnExpress" --- "Dismiss".  I am writing this request from my Mac Air on the same network my iPhone refuses to join. Both the Air and iPad (iOS 6.0.1) found and joined the Holioday Inn network without any issues.
I don't remember this issue with earlier operating systems on iPhone--is there an issue with the new operating system on the iPhone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Ed

The good (?) news is many people are have OS 6.0.1 wifi problems.
I could not connect to my home network.  What eventually worked for me (twice now), though it makes no sense, is to go to the particular connection you want to use, hit the little blue arrow on the right to get the details screen.  Scroll down to the bottom and change "HTTP Proxy" from "None" to "Auto".  Then leave the "URL" field that pops up blank.
This should not work.  However, it has for me where many other suggestions have not.
    *shrug*
    Best of luck.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • Just installed IOS 8 to iphone 5 and cannot connect to WI FI. Sometimes connects and when I begin to use the phone ot drops out.

Just installed IOS 8 to iphone 5 and cannot connect to WI FI. Sometimes connects and when I begin to use the phone ot drops out.
I have attempted all the regular trouble shoots such as resets, complete restore and reinstallation of ios 8. no change.

I don't have an answer for you but from my experience iOS WiFi syncing has always been a hit and miss affair (more miss than hit I'm afraid). I have gotten to the stage where I rarely use the WiFi sync. It is just quicker, easier and much less stressful to use the USB cable. I am having the same issues with all the iOS devices in our family which includes various models of iPhone, iPad and an iPod Touch and have been having them since WiFi syncing was introduced (in iOS5 ???). And then I have not even mentioned my favorite iTunes syncing messages: "Waiting for items to copy" and "Waiting for changes to be applied"!
iTunes is always extremely quick and eager to pick up the devices but as soon as I click on sync it shows "Looking for iDevice" and then the device disappears. I have found that initiating the sync from the Settings app on the device prevents this issue.
It does however seem as if it is worse with Windows 7. I did not have so many issues with my previous Windows Vista PC.
Sorry I cannot be of any help.

i can see a possible workaround... download all photos to folder. delete all the photos from iphone and then sync photos with folder name like "OLD". i have tried this with years... like "2008"... but then whole thing became toooo slow so this is not a good way to go. despite the fact THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT FIRST PLACE

  • 4S Screen Jumping after installing iOS 7

    Hello,
I recently installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S and since the installation my home and lock screen has consitently been jumping.   It is steady when the phone is in use in calls and texts as well as internet and apps but jumps otherwise.   I have done several hard re-boots and nothing has helped.   My next move is to do a system restore but I wasn't sure if there was an easier solution and if anybody else has experienced this problem.    The only cool part is my lock screen background is of Marilyn Monroe in a swimsuit and now she dances.  LOL!  But it is annoying.
    Thanks!

Oh, mine hasn't done that yet!  This started on Saturday.   I haven't done anything to damage my phone, it was just random.  Funny thing is I had two friends (well, they're husband/wife) report the same thing but they were still running the previous OS and they thought maybe system overload from everybody downloading 7 but I don't know.   I had somebody suggest turning off background app refresh which I did but nothing.   It doesn't sound like it is even worth the trouble of doing a system restore then.   I was going to chat with a genius but $19 is a bit steep!   I hope you get yours resolved, too.

  • Can I un-install iOS 8 and go back to iOS 7.1 on my 5s?

Can I un-install iOS 8 and go back to iOS 7.1 on my 5s?

YMMV:  You have been warned that some are successful,  others apparently are not.  I approached it very methodically and ended up with a successful downgrade.  I offer this only to those that are stuck, and for work reasons need their phone to work,  don't want to keep trouble shooting and re-installing IOS8.
I used an official Apple supplied copy of the 7.1.2 ipsw and would not do otherwise.
Below is best explanation I found.  Keep in mind you cannot restore from an IOS8.0 backup if you are successful going back to 7.1.2.  In other words,  any text messages / photo messages, data,  photo's and videos that you haven't put up onto the icloud need to be saved somewhere if you want access to them after downgrade.  I also hope you have a good backup of your old 7.1.2 IOS prior to your move to 8.0.
If you don't have an old 7.1.2 pre IOS8  backup stop now.
    Read  CAREFULLY.

  • After installing iOS 7.0.2 my phone began to reboot.

It is a big trouble for me!
It starts to reboot when I use it, especially in the internet.
It was a trouble with installing iOS 7.0.2. Wi-Fi updating told, that there was an error.
    iTunes wrote error 9.
After that my phone rebooted itself and there was iOS 7.0.2.
    But now it reboots randomly.
    What is the problem?
