Trouble installing itunes onto Windows 8 laptop

Hi, I'm having issues installing itunes onto my windows 8 laptop. It downloaded fine, eventually after I found the right folder! But when I go to open the setup file it doesn't do anything. I looked in the task manager and saw the itunes installer was actually there but still not doing anything?? I've tryed running it as an administrator, deleting it all and starting again etc. Running out of ideas as I'm at the limit of my knowledge, any help would be great.

Hmmmm.
Any better luck if you try a manual uninstall of the GEAR drivers prior to the iTunes install?

(Fingers crossed they've got Windows 8 instructions up now.)

  • Installing iTunes onto Windows RT 8.1

    Hi
Is is possible to install itunes onto Windows RT 8.1 (Microsoft Surface Device)
I have tried downloading the latest versions of both the normal and x64 editions but both come up with "this app cant run on your pc"
I have also tried running as an administrator but doesnt help.
Any ideas or is it just not compatible with RT?
    Thanks

RT is a watered-down version of 8 that only runs apps designed for it (like apps running on iOS).  Only full windows 8 can run iTunes.

  • Install itunes onto windows 8?

    I'm having difficulty installing iTunes onto windows 8, I use google chrome as my browser and whenever it's installing the intaller it comes up with this message;
    iTunes installer completed
The installer encountered problems before iTunes could be configured.
Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified.
Please run installer again, or click Finish to exit.
    I need help!!!!

    Hello there JadeMB,
From what you are describing here, it sounds like you may have the 64 Bit version of Windows 8 so the 32 Bit installer for iTunes will not work.
Here is the download for the 64 bit version of iTunes:

  • HT201413 I Installed iTunes on Windows XP laptop, connected my iPad 3.  When opening iTunes I only get the list LIBRARY STORE and PLAYLIST.  But I can not see a tab "devices"  where mu iPad appears??

HI, I need help to transfer a vidoe from my laptop Windows XP to iPad3.  Installed iTunes.  Opened iTunes, Connected PC and iPad.  iTunes does not show iPad under a "Devices" category ? Why?? How do I transfer the vidoe.  PC does show pictures that are on the iPad when I open the iPad files.

You can only add music to iTunes Match from your iTunes library on your computer, not from your iOS device.  If you have music on your iPad that is not on your computer, you'll have to import it to your iTunes library on your computer to add it to iTunes Match.
Music purchased from the iTunes store can be imported directly to your iTunes library by authorizing your computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the music (in Store>Authorize This Computer), then connecting the iPad to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Music from other sources will require using 3rd party software to transfer to your computer, such as Touch Copy.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80070BC9, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

  • Trouble installing iTunes to Windows Vista PC

When trying to install iTunes 11 to my Windows Vista PC, I get stuck in a continuous loop of clicking to install and accepting the terms of service. Nothing ever installs, it just checks for software and asks me to confirm the terms of service over and over. Any ideas what's going on?

Ok, MY thought is on Norton. Norton is famous, and not in a good way, for silently blocking iTunes. It has lead to many headaches for many folks.
So, lets try something. Turn Off Norton and try launching iTunes and see if it will come up. Then if that works, I can walk you thru the steps of Configuring Norton to allow iTunes to work alongside. For some reason, Norton is seeing iTunes as malicious, but it is not even prompting the user to block or not. Kinda wierd...I think its a conspiracy

    Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:

  • Trouble downloading iTunes onto Windows 7

Having trouble downloading iTunes ont my daughters comouter.  Keeps coming up with a "BonJour Services Error".  Anyone have this issue and was able to resolve it.  I followed the instructions on the Apple site and still wasn't able to resolve it.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Trouble installing itunes to Windows XP

rachyl-orry i thought I belonged in the same category when making the prior post. I have Windows XP. I can se the itunes icon on my main scren after sign on. The cd that came with my nano seemed to install fine and even finished. i have already updated my Windows XP. I have also restarted computer. when i connect my nano to the USB port( I ahve tried to different ports), it does not automatically prompt up itunes(as the directions stated it would). So, I double click my itunes and open it. But, only one prompt box pops up stating itunes was not properly installed.
I cannot put any of the music from my library on to my nano(or do not know how). I believe I have Norton anti-virus on my computer. i am not the most computer literate. But, understand the basics. Thanks for any help.

  • Trouble installing iTunes to Windows Vista (32 bit) Please help!

My computer recently had some problems a few months back and I had to delete some things and get rid of programs, iTunes being one of them.
I have tried to get it back, and it won't let me. It doesn't even begin installing. It tries to go to the installing screen, but the installer completed sign comes up and says "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again."
I have tried everything in the Apple support area and did all of the troubleshooting problems. I don't know what to do now.
    Can someone help me please?

Hmmmm. Unfortunately, most of the helpful documentation and discussion i've seen about the RAID issues has related to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers, and most of the SATA documentation and discussions relates to PCs with nVidia video cards (and/or other nVidia componentry).
I had a quick check at ASUS, and it looks like it might be worth doublechecking to see if your BIOS is up to date. (Some of the BIOS updates they are listing there mention improved SATA compatibility and performance.) But I'm a bit uncomfortable about that advice, since there's a P5SD2-X and a P5SD2-X SE motherborad being listed there.
so it might be prudent to doublecheck your motherboard model prior to any attempted BIOS upgrades. This ASUSTek document may be of some assistance:
Where to find my model name?
Once you've established to your satisfaction what particular model you have, here's links to the two different model pages:
    Model: P5SD2-X
    Model: P5SD2-X SE
If you're at all uncertain as to how to proceed with this, please check in on the ASUSTek FAQs and forums for the relevant Motherboards. (There's links to the left of each of the model pages.) I don't have an ASUS motherboard myself, so they are going to be in a better position to give you focussed advice on the process.

  • Installing itunes on windows 8

I'm having trouble installing itunes on windows 8.  It was running fine untill I tried to connect a new ipod touch. I've tried unistalling itunes and quicktime.  itunes will now not install.  any suggestions?

Do you get an error message when you try to install iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Cannot install itunes on Windows 7 Windows Service Installer could not be accessed

I am having trouble installing itunes on Windows 7.  I keep getting a message that says that Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  This is driving me crazy.  Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to get iTunes downloaded, but now it won't install because it says a newer version of Quicktime is installed, and iTunes cannot proceed until that is uninstalled.
We're still making progress. That's damaged QuickTime installation configuration information (which also seems to be associated with some-though-not-all reports of your initial error).
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)
