Trouble installing latest Flash 11.4.402.278

I don't know what I'm doing wrong in installing Flash Player 11.4.402.278. I have Windows XP 7, 32-bit, and use Mozilla Firefox. When I download, I save the file, although it doesn't show on Downloads list. It does show up, saved, in My Documents. The Run File box has shown once (I clicked yes), didn't run, so I left-clicked, got Run File, again clicked yes, and got "Only 1 single instance of this application can run". Since I've been trying, I then deleted the one other time the same downloaded file showed up in My Documents, so there's 1 file. Proceeded a step (got through Run file), then got "Certificate of authentication failed."  What to do? Thanks.

  • Adobe Flash 11.4.402.278 causes browser lockups & erroneous download requests

I've installed Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.278 on multiple Windows 7 Pro computers.  After the install, various websites (i.e. MSN.com, Yahoo, YouTube) lock up when trying to open.  This problem occurs in both IE9 & Firefox.  The workaround in IE9 is to disable the Adobe Flash Shockwave add-on.  Secondarily, users repeatedly receive requests to download Flash even though it is already installed.  To make matters worse many video files will not play even after the user reloads Flash 11.4.402.278.  Does anyone know how to revert to an earlier version of Flash?  I didn't have these problems with the previous version (.265, I believe).

    >Chris - I've installed 11.4.402.287 logged in as Domain Administrator on the HP laptop, then logged in as the regular user, and web browsing all ok now.  So it looks for now the issues I've been specifically experiencing have been resolved.  However, I think I will in future incorporate some acceptance testing before I start deploying future version of Flash everywhere!
    > quarky422 - In the specific cases I reported I had the described problem and solution that worked for me, and the latest release has hopefully fixed that issue for good.  With the plethora of machine configurations out there I guess everyone has unique issues, but my approach is simple: if it worked before something was updated, start rolling back until you identify the cause.  It took me a few hours to identify the issue and I went down the wrong track initially (thought it was to do with a web site the customer visited then I also visited on a different computer and had the same problem, but when reports came in from other users I knew that couldn't be the cause).  I really thought it was down to a Java update, so uninstalled that and Flash and it worked.  On the next machine just removed Flash and it worked, so re-installed Flash while logged in as the user, and it still worked.  This link
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4323109 seems to be a fix though I have not tried it as the latest version fixed my particular problem, so may fix yours as well?  You don't say if you are logging in as Domain Admin or Local Admin.

  • Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro?

Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5?

Thanks for your help here is what I did so far!
I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it, I've tried restarting my browser, then my MacBook Pro without any success!
When I click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and open System Preferences I can see Adobe Flash Player on the bottom under the Other section.
If I open Adobe up and check the version it tells me that I have the most recent version!
I even uninstalled Adobe and installed the newest Beta version, but Adobe is still not working! If I check for the latest version it tells me that I do have the latest beta version, but it still doesn't work!
If the person who made the video used any other video player it works!
Their player, plays the video without a problem!

  • Install latest Flash Player

Trying to install latest Flash Player...get 50% thru and tells me to close browser   do that and retry and get same msg
HAve Explorer 9  and Windows 64 bit PC

YES, we should follow all pop-up dialog instruction especially Flash CAN NOT install with any open IE, etc. browser using Flash (see behind your open browser) if there is one open.
The correct way to get Flash is to use your choice Browser (32 or 64 bit) or click the option that you have a different O.S., etc. Choose SAVE AS and remember where you saved it. Close ALL Browser. Find and click the downloaded Adobe Flash Payer file. Don't do anything with your PC and wait after final installation -- it'll tell you how successfully you're with a new web page. Restart your PC if it ask you to or better do it now.
Post back telling us how happy you are now..

You'll continue to have trouble, because...
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store.
These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed.  I've tried quitting Safari.  Have not uninstalled currently Adobe as yet.  How to fix?

Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish".  It then directs me to troubleshooting.  I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.
    Hope that information helps.

Thank all that replied to my post. I was able to successfully install Flash Player following this procedure:
    1.   Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Verify that the Flash Player.plugin file is not present.  If it is, trash it.
    2.  Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Player
Verify that the Flash Player Install Manager folder does not exist.  If it does, trash the whole folder

  • Problems Installing Latest Flash Player

    Hellohello!
My Adobe Flash Player for Mozilla Firefox has been giving me troubles these past months, so today I decided to install a more recent version on my laptop.
Following the instructions, I deinstalled the old version before initializing the download/installation of the latest Flash Player. That, however, proved to be a mistake, as the installation has failed continously so far and now I have no player to my avail at all.
I have tried installation several times, but the process didn't even start and just left me the message 'Aktionsliste nicht gefunden' (action list not found).
I'm using a Fujitsu Siemens Laptop Computer with 32 Bit operating system and Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU processor. Windows Visa with Service Pack 2 is installed. So I guess the problem can't be due to a deficiency in system requirements and I also made sure that the required plug-in is activated and that any other version of the player is removed from my laptop.
Being anything but a computer/IT expert, I would be very very grateful if anybody could help me out. I'm at my wit's end in this matter, have spent the last three hours scouting for possible solutions to this problem.. to no avail whatsoever.
    Thanks a million in advance!!
    Laura

    Hi Laura,
Most of these installation problems are caused by antivirus apps. These days, practically all of them incorporate web shields to protect you from downloading malware, files shields to prevent you from installing rogue pograms and the like. It's the file scanner which is the most problematical because it springs into action as soon as you run an installer of any kind. This interferes with the installation process and leads to file corruption further down the line.
In the current circumstances, I suggest you proceed as follows. First of all, disable all antivirus shields. If you happen to be using AVAST antivirus, right click the orange icon in the systray and choose to disable all shields for one hour. If you're using a different AV app, look for something similar in the user menus. Then proceed as follows.
Download the Flash uninstaller from here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
    Close all browsers.
Reboot. This is important to clear the Windows Registry after you uninstall something.
When the system reboots to the desktop, disable those AV shields again.
Download the installer from here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax_32bit.exe This is the installer for Internet Explorer. When you see the prompt, choose "Run" to install it immediately.
If you use another browser like Firefox, Opera, Safari etc., download this one as well: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_32bit.exe When you see the download prompt for this one, choose "Save" instead and save it somewhere you can find it afterwards.
After you complete the installation process, go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to check that everything went according to plan.
You may require this player as well: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ It's rather like an enhanced version of the Flash Player and you'll need it to play games where you have some interaction with the animation. You don't need to run an uninstaller for this one. Simply download and click "Run" in Internet Explorer where you want to install it in that specific browser, or choose "Save" when you want to install it in any other browser.

  • Corrupt file problems installing latest Flash on Windows Vista - help please?!

When trying to install the latest Flash on my Windows Vista (I'm not great with computers so more than the internet system I use I'm not sure what other details are necessary), I keep getting the message "install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih.exe - Corrupt File. File or directory C:\$Secure is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility." As I have no idea what the Chkdsk utility is, or how to run it, can someone please tell me how to fix this problem? Apparently I have Flash Player installed on my computer, but not the plug-in necessary to play media files on the internet. What do I need to do to fix this?

This Microsoft help document should walk you through the steps of using Chkdsk to scan (and repair) your hard drive.

  • Having trouble installing Adobe Flash while running Yosemite...

I installed Yosemite over a week ago and ever since I've been unable to get Flash to work properly. I realized an update needed to be installed (even though I have the automatic updates checked for Adobe Flash), but I'm having a hard time getting the update to complete. It prompts me to close all browsers after the installer downloads. Then after doing so, I click on the installer and everything starts off fine. However, after about 75% of the install being complete, it shows: 'Error: Unable to proceed with the installation.' At that point the only option I'm given is to click 'Finish.' After clicking 'Finish,' Safari opens up to Adobe's website and gives me the option to either troubleshoot the installation or try it again. I've done both, yet neither are working.
I first tried to just re-install it, but saw that I already had it installed, so that's when I tried updating it to the latest version. Since neither worked, I uninstalled Adobe flash and tried a clean install, but the same error appeared at about the same time during installation.
Before I uninstalled Adobe Flash, I checked the version and it matched the latest, however, every page that uses flash says I need to install the update and prompts me to do so before continuing. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Installing latest Flash 10.1 in Firefox 3.0.19 on XP/32-bit

After uninstalling the previous version of Flash  I found that the new Flash plugin would not install.  I could download a file gp.xpi, but clicking it gave a message like "application unknown".  I found that I had to manually select Firefox as the application to open the file gp.xpi in order to install the plugin.  I've had the same trouble previously with Flash.  I think that the instructions could be improved to cover this case.  (Also it's not easy to find the article http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/dlm/firefox_steps.htmlhttp://www.adobe.com/products/r eader/dlm/firefox_steps.htmlhttp://www.adobe.com/products/reader/dlm/firefox_steps.html though this may not be related to my problem.)

I looked but could not find it.
All the "Install Flash player" pages should clearly say:
"You probably will need to use this uninstaller to uninstall
the old version first" and specify the link to the uninstaller.
Firefox users should be shown a link to the executable
you mention (or an explanation like mine of what to do
if they can't install the plugin) because otherwise they
will probably not find the executable and will not know
    what to do.

  • Trouble Installing Adobe Flash 10.2.159.1 to Mozilla Foxfire & windows Vista

I have tried, unsuccessfully, to download & install Adobe Flash 10.2.159.1 onto my computer.  I have tried all the advice found on the troubleshooting page, including uninstalling & re-installing, both as Administrator & not.  I now cannot play my favourite games on Facebook as a result.  I tried the online chat service & got no joy there either.  I keep gettig the same message, no matter what I try:
    "A required file (C\Windows\system321\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll.5)
could not be written due to insufficient permissions.
What do I do now?  I would appreciate any assistance in the matter.

    Do the following:
    download the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html and save it to disk;
    close all browser instances, then run the downloaded uninstaller;
    restart Windows;
open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
delete anything that still resides in that folder.
Once you have done that, you can reinstall Flash Player.
If you have any troubles deleting files from that Flash folder, please post again.
P.S. all the above must be done as an Administrator user.
