Trouble installing OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on W7 64bit  Enterprise Install

I have installed BIPLATFORM & MDS repositories using RCU utility (11.1.1.5) successfully on 11.2.0.1.0 database. I have my Weblogic Server 10.3.5 generic installed and it is up and running. I am getting struck at OBIEE installation at BIPLATFORM schema.
My connect string in the format hostname:port:servicename is perfect. But, I don't get past this screen. I get the following error:-
INST-08020: One or more entries are found in HSS_COMPONENT table.
-- A new schema must be used in order to install successfully.
I had installed simple install with the connect string metioned above and it works, so there is nothing wrong with the connect string. I removed the simple installation and tried to install OBIEE in Enterprise install. Now, I have no clue what is happening here. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

The problem is most likely one of two thing.
1.) WHen you conducted the simple install you also had to point to the BIPLATFORM and MDS schemas. These schema tables get populated with the first install attempt and succeeded. Then you tried to install using the enterprise install without first droping the BIPLATFORM and MDS Schemas created by the RCU install. Those schemes can only contain one OBI installation at a time unless you changed the prefix (i.e.: DEV_, QA_, PROD_, etc.) of the schemas if you had run the RCU a second time against that database.
2.) You mentioned that you had the weblogic generic install completed. You only need this if you are conducting the Software Only install option. Otherwise the Simple and Enterprise installs will install weblogic for you. If you had installed the generic WLS and then the enterprise you may have a potential conflict.
If I were you I would uninstall OBIEE 11g on that machine. Ensure that any envrionment variables that were created on that machine are remove. Remove WebLogic if it is still present from your WLS Generic install attempt. Then run the RCU utility again and on the first screen of the wizard use the "Drop..." option to remove the BIPLATFORM and MDS Schemes.
Then start up the OBIEE 11g install with Enterprise option. Again, you won't need the WLS Generic if going the enterprise install route.
I hope that helps.

I know that I need .Net Framework 2.0. When I tried to install .Net Framework 2.0 I get error that the version I am installing is not compatible version. I already have later version .Net Framework 2.0 SP2, .Net Framework 3.0 SP2 and .Net Framework 3.5 SP1. Also, my XP home edition has SP3 current to date. How do I get around this. How do I install 2.0? It looks like I have to remove some older version, which version should I remove?
    Well, can advice/help please respond.
    Figured out the problem.
This damn thing needs Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 should be installed. I had later versions. I had to pullout new all versions newer than 2.0 including Service packs. Load the 2.0 and install OBIEE. It works. After verifying installation, I installed the .net Framework 4.0 to bring it up to current.

  • Installing OBIEE on windows xp home

I want to get the tool formerly known as Siebel Analytics.....gathered i have to install OBIEE first....this I tried to do, downloading from edelivery.oracle.com
..But i get an error....wasn't sure if OBIEE can run on windows xp home....a friend did say it can...
    can someone help me out...
    thanks...

If you just want to install it on XP to familiarize yourself with the functionality in OBIEE, don't bother with Apache (or IIS). Select the "Basic" installation option when prompted on one of the first installation screens. This will create a very simple self contained OBIEE environment for you and you should be up and running within 30 minutes. For development purposes, we have installed OBIEE inside a VM (on XP) using the basic install and found this to be a very workable solution.

  • Installing OBIEE on Windows 7, quick questions

    Dear Experts,
Last year, I struggled installing OBIEE on Linux 5.5.
Now I want to install it on Windows 7 Ultimate.
It will be stand alone, for my own use only.
Both a client, and a server.
    Some quick questions:
    1)
Does the Windows server need to have a Domain (as Linux did)?
(I'm having some trouble with the same dummy domain that worked fine
in Linux, since it doesn't exist on the web.)
    2)
Does the Windows server/client require a loopback adapter?
If so, does it require a static IP?
    3)
Does the windows server/client require a static IP address?
    4)
If static IP addresses are required for both 2 and 3,
is the static IP address supposed to match, or be different?
I hope these questions aren't too dumb. But I haven't found
anything online addressing them for windows yet.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Install OBIEE in a Tomcat server

    Hi there,
I'm trying to install Oracle Bussiness Intelligence in a Tomcat server under linux, but I'm having some trouble to make this because I'm not sure about the structure of this application. I see that it's split into several applications (bioffice, analytics), and I want to upload the neccesary applications to my tomcat server.
I need to know which .war files should I upload, if I need to configure anything, and, if possible, where can I donwnload directly those wars. I have installed OBIEE under a linux, which installs an OAS, and then copied the .wars included there. But that didn't work for me.
Please, if anyone can throw some insight into this matter, I would appretiate it.
    Regards

analytics is the one that you need to provide Answers and Dashboards. You don't download it, it should be in your OracleBI home /web directory (eg. /app/oracle/product/obiee/web)
Check out the documentation for how to do the deployment & config here: [Oracle Business Intelligence Infrastructure Installation and Configuration

  • Error in installing OBIEE

    Hi,
I am installing OBIEE on my system and getting an error saying framedyn.dll was not found.
After which it is saying that OBIEE is not supported with my current Windows version.
But I checked my Windows version of XP is uptodate.
Can you please help me to install OBIEE with above problem description.
Please let me know if any further clearification regarding my problem is required.
    Thanks
    Shashank

    Hi Shashank,
Have you checked if framedyn.dll is missing in your system (the file should be under Windows/system32)? If so, you can download the file and try again. Also, not sure what version of OBIEE you're trying to install. If not the latest one (10.1.3.4.1) you can download it from OTN and try with it. Also {thread:id=966344} might be helpful for you.

  • Error in Installing OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on AIX 64 Bit,

    Hi,
Ive tried a simple as well as enterprise install of OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on AIX 64 Bit Operating system,
midway through the installation I get the following error:
error in invoking target 'Client_sharedlib svr_tool' of makefile. If i proceed with the installtion, i face another 2 such similar errors , followed by some popups stating that Runtime error has occured.
The installation completes, However when the post Installation scripts start to execute, the fist step itself, i.e. create domain Fails. followed by failures of most of the other steps, ultimately i need to Abort the installation.
Im searching for answers as to what could have caused this, I cannot find anything conclusive in the huge log files. Would greatly appreciate if somone here has come across this before and could share some insights.
    - Domnic

Does it have to be a software only installation since it is on AIX?
    From the install doc:
The Software Only Install type installs the Oracle Business Intelligence software binary files in an Oracle home for later configuration as part of a Fusion Middleware deployment. This install type is required to install Oracle Business Intelligence on an AIX operating system or with a 64-bit JVM, such as on a supported 64-bit operating system.

    Hi,
try to start manually by using opmnctl command...it shoud work if its not working try below steps
    Method:1
While installing obiee11g keep it OPMN service type as "Manual" then install and confure it should work.
    Method:2

  • Creating Domain step fails while trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5)

    Hi Everyone,
I am really stuck at a point from where I do not know which route to take. I am trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5) on my Windows 7 (32-bit) laptop. I have tried all the options:
    1. Simple Install
    2. Enterprise Install
    3. Software only install (after installing Weblogic 10.3.4.0 separately)
Everything goes well till the step Bi Configuration->Creating Domain.
In this process whenever it reaches the stage when it tries to start Node Manager, it starts getting java exceptions and fails. It typically occurs when it does not find the nodemanager.properties file and tries to save the configurations there. It then encounters a Fatal Error.

One thing that I have noticed is that whenever it tries to create the nodemanager.properties or write to it it encounters this error and hence the nodemanager.properties file is also not getting generated.
I have ensured that there are no spaces in the TEMP and TMP paths. I even tried creating and putting the nodemanager.properties file in the location but that too does not work.
Strange part is that when I install Weblogic separately and have nodemanager as a windows service, then with the nodemanager.properties that I created the windows service runs, but the OBIEE installation still fails.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Subho

My problem is "creating domain is failed". I guess that the issue with windows 7 32 bits on laptop doesn't configure and run nodemanager. I tried to start nodemanager but don't work (with weblogic scriptinf tools WST). However, Weblogic run ok but nodemanager is inactive. Also it doesn't create nodemanager.propierties. If I create a file nodemanager.properties (or I copied on directory obiee_home\ws_server_10.3\common\nodemanager) obiee installer configures its parameters pre-configured (if I modify a parameter, the installer modify it a default value and I don't know where is these parameters and its definition).
I have installed obiee simple and enterprise and it don't work. I have installed on oracle 11g R2 (desktop and enterprise with datawarehouse) and obiee installer doesn't work. Further this installation obiee delay an hour and then generates error in my case "creating domain is failed".
I'm going try to run install obiee 11.1.1.5 on windows 7 xp mode.
Important: We need help of oracle experts or Oracle communicates if obiee installs or not on windows 7 32 bits laptop because We have wasted
    Thanks if anyone help us!!
