Trouble installing....wants Adobe air.......

I tried to install the adobe download assistant. I went through the bar as if install was complete then a window popped up that said it needed an Adobe Air file and to go download the newest version of Adobe Air. So I tried to download Adobe Air and it popped up the same window asking for adobe air. I'm on a Mac......any suggestions?

Adobe Air is a requirement to use the Adobe Download Assistant. I would recommend you try downloading and installing Adobe Air from http://get.adobe.com/air/?promoid=BUIGQ.

Blue screen of death while installing any Adobe Air application

Whenever I try to install an Air application I get a Blue Screen and then my system restarts.
I cannot even take a screenshot of it.
This happens with every air application I try to install.
I also searched for the same on Adobe forums and found the same problem being faced by someone else.
His problem was resolved by uninstalling a software named "Folder Lock".
I searched my hard disk for this software and found one, so I deleted that software (shift+delete) and removed all it's traces from registry too but that still doesn't solved the problem.
I also tried disabling the antivirus software and then install the air application but this also didn't helped.
I was able to install air applications earlier, but now I can't.
Anybody having same sort of problem. One colleague of mine is also having the same problem.
Please help me out.
My system's config is as follows:
Windows XP Home sp3
Flash Builder 4, with SDK 4.1, 3.5 installed in it.
Adobe Air v 2.5
1.5 GB RAM
1.66 MHz processor

Thank you for taking out your time to solve my problem.
I did all the steps mentioned in that link i.e. installed folder lock and uninstalled it from it's options only.
But it didn't solve my problem.
Here is the screenshot of the Blue Screen Of Death that I was presented while the application was being installed.
The BSOD appeared while the application install progress is shown to the end user.

Problem with installing/uninstalling Adobe AIR on Windows 7 x64

I encounter problem while trying to do anything with AIR. I cannot uninstall Adobe AIR using default uninstaller or install any AIR software because the message "This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found" is popping up.
I tried to remove Adobe AIR with Revo Uninstaller and installing the AIR again but it didn't help. Revo Uninstaller removes all files and registry entries successfuly. After such reinstalation of Adobe AIR all the files in c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR seems healthy and registry entries are added as well.
I tried Microsoft Install and Uninstall Fix It tool, Windows Install Clean Up - didn't work.
My whole log is below, I did a couple of trial today (2013-02-08).

OSX install error: "Adobe AIR Already installed"

I'm having an issue with Adobe AIR installer on my Mac.
Having already uninstalled a previous beta, I am presented with an
error message whenever the 1.0 installer is launched: "Adobe AIR
Already installed on this system". Of course, that is not the case
and for the life of me I can't get this blasted version to install.
So my Mac is running out of AIR, and so am I.
Any ideas?

You can enable installer logging (

to find out why the installer thinks AIR is already installed.
Most likely, however, it is. Check /Library/Frameworks and
see if Adobe AIR.framework is already there.

Unable to install an Adobe AIR application with -location to correct path

Hi
Im trying to silent install an air app on the command line (Windows). But the path i use after -location is ignored.
This is the code im using:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe" "-silent" "-location" "C:\Program Files\my_app_name" "C:\Program Files\my_app_name.air"
What ever i add after -location isnt used and it gets added to the default location. Has anybody else found this?

Trouble Upgrading to Adobe Air 3.3.0.3650 from 1.5.3.9130

I was able to fix my problems by using the Microsoft Fixit utility at

After uninstalling Adibe Air with the utility I was able to install the latest version without any problems.

Browser install with Adobe AIR final version

I built an app as per Jonathan Snook's post (

This worked fine with Beta 3 on Windows and Mac. After 1.0 was
released, I rebuilt the air file with the new 1.0 SDK. Now, the
installer fails with the message
Sorry, an error has occured
This application cannot be installed because this installer
has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for
assistance.
What is the best way to debug this?

You most likely need to update the 'airversion' argument to
the badge to refer to 1.0, not 1.0.M6 (beta 3). This argument has
to match the version of AIR that your application is targeting.

I have deleted the adobe air files but when I try and re install I get the message that adobe air is already installed. I am trying to download BBC iplayer and i think this adobe air file is corrupted

try switching off automatic graphics switching, in energy saver (system preferences) and try again. you can switch it back on again after the install.

I'm having the same problems when trying to download any Adobe products.

Niadee I branched your discussion out to a new thread as it does not appear to be related to trying to install Adobe Download Assistant in Mac OS 10.8.2. Are you receiving this error when you are trying to install the Adobe Download Assistant? Also what version of Windows do you have installed?

Can I de-compile Air to work on an Android phone without installing the Adobe Air player?

I have created an android app in FLASH, I would like to test it on my phone however, it does not support the Air player! Is there a way to de-compile the files so that the app will work on an android phone without having to run Adobes Air player?

Trouble installing Dubturbo with AIR

AIR installed fine but Dubturbo said I had to have it to open/install the program. When I click on it nothing happens but it says it's using AIR to open it but it doesn't. I have a Mac and am running OSX Lion.

Having Trouble Installing new adobe flash player

I have tried to download the newest version a dozen times. I have uninstalled everything relating to flash player, and then I close ALL MY PROGRAMS, but for some reason, when I go to install it, I get an error message telling me that it couldn't install because an error occured, because something is using adobe or flash or whatever. Which I don't understand. It should be impossible if I've unistalled the thing! Any suggestions?

Try the following
download the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html and save it to disk;
download the plugin installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html and save it to disk;
close all browser windows, as well as any messenger applications, then run the downloaded uninstaller;
check C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash (if your Windows is 32-bit) or C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash (64-bit) if there are any files left;
now run the downloaded installer.
