Trouble opening a file in Organizer

In attempting to open a file I recieved the notice "Searching for missing file" accompanied by a square red icon one the base of the (blurred) file. This applied to many files. I followed the insructions from Adobe Help Centre, under the heading "Reconnecting missing files in the Organizer" with the result that several more files showed the same problem.I reconnected each file individually.
The files had not been moved before, some may have been copied to DVD by Windows Live Photo Gallery as I'm unable to print from the Organizer. My previous posts about that failed to find a solution. Elements will not accept the ver 5 update. When I try to load it the computer goes into melt down mode.
I have anti malware software and checked with Norton via this site.
Would consider updating to PSE 8 but would the problems go with me. Is a trial version available and could the use of it create more problems before I find a solution?

The files still exist on my hard disk. I have found that if I use edit on a file I can print a picture without freezing the computer
.I'm still not sure I want to use FSE even in trial mode as Adobe don't seem to back up their software or service and I dont need the hassles I have had already! Upgrading may only bring more problems in the changeover?
I purchased FSE 5.0 several years ago but only used it in the last year and its been a problem since then.

Having Trouble Opening TIFF Files

I'm having trouble opening TIFF files into Camera Raw. I have checked all my settings in Adobe Bridge and everything seems to be saying that TIFF files should open in Camera Raw when I click on then int and then into photoshop when finished editing in camera raw.
I'm trying to open 32 bit HDR images saved as a TIFF file into Camera Raw, and there seems to be nothing I can do to get them there. I have tried everything I can think of. When I right click on it (cmd click I'm on a mac) the option to open in camera Raw isn't there. I have tried clicking and dragging the image into Photoshop to try and force it maybe to open into Camera Raw, and I have opened photoshop and tried opeing it up from mini Bridge. In mini bridge I have the option to open the image into Camera Raw when I click this nothing happens.
I'm not sure what else to try I'm on CS6 and Camera Raw 7.0 .

It might be that you need to update camera raw to version 8.3 by going to Help>Updates from within photoshop or bridge.
(i don't remember exactly in which version of acr that was added, but probably after version 7.0)

Trouble opening pdf files on version 9.4...

Hi, I recently updated (10/7/10) my Adobe from 9.34 to 9.4 and now I'm having trouble opening my files that were working fine with 9.34.. I read the other post but the problem still seems to occur for my mac..the error message I am getting is..
Adobe Reader could not open 'maher39767_0324639767_02.11_chapter11.spdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
I reinstalled Adobe and I'm still getting the problem...
Please help.

Does this happen with any pdf or this particular pdf ? If it happens with this pdf only then may be the pdf is not properly downloaded or may be damaged.

Hi,
Do you have Adobe Reader installed on your device? You can check it under Settings-->Apps. If Adobe Reader is installed on your device and still the pdfs open in some other app, then you might have chosen that app to be the default app for always opening pdfs. You can clear the defaults for that application. Just go to Settings-->App--->Polaris(or any other app where the files open)--->Clear Defaults. Next time you try to open a pdf, you will be presented with the options again. Hope this helps. Please let us know if you still face some issues.

Having Trouble Opening .EPS File

I am trying to open a .eps file in Illustrator CS3. As it is trying to open the progress bar for Parsing EPS format appears. Once the bar reaches the end, an error message shows up saying operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening? Even tried opening it up in Photoshop and paring error message appeared. I am using a PC on windows Vista. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I received the emailed file in zip. Tried opening it with illustrator and the same problem happened again. Any reason why it may still not be opening up? Do you recommend maybe reinstalling illustrator. This problem never happened before. Thanks

Was it emailed to you?
Email servers often corrupt eps files. It's best to have the person zip the file before sending it.

I have trouble opening acrobate files with reader 10.1.7. When I click on the file to open it with adobe reader x, nothing happens. If I click on Adobe Reader X icon, a message comes up: preparing to install. After that, I can open a PDF, but only until the next reboot.

Something went amiss during the install. Windows keeps trying to finish the incomplete install every time Reader opens.
Use the Adobe Cleaner to completely remove Reader.
Download the offline installer and reinstall without a download manager

Trouble opening .mogg file

I'm having trouble opening a .mogg file , I get this error : " We were unable to open this file using any of the currently available importers . It's either corrupt or using an unsupported format " . I wasn't able to figure out exactly what the problem is.....plus I've been able to play the file without any issues with both VLC and Foobar2000 and opened smoothly using A*****ty. Any suggestions???

MOGG files (Multitrack OGG) are not supported at this time in Audition. I have put this request into the feature backlog recently, and will add notes about your request. You can export the individual tracks as WAV or AIFF files from Audacity to remix or edit in Audition.

Trouble opening .inx files in CS3 - links randomly replaced with foo.jpg

I have to move a lot of CS4 InDesign files to CS3, and I often run into a bizarre problem. After opening an .inx file in InDesign CS3, sometimes perfectly normal PDF, JPG, EPS and AI files will mysteriously be replaced with a linked file called "foo.jpg" that InDesign thinks is missing (it always reports the path as "c:foo.jpg"). I then have to go figure out what the original file was actually called and where it was saved and relink it manually.
There is no rhyme or reason to when linked files don't come over - our logo is saved in one location and linked in every single piece we make, yet sometimes it links fine when imported into CS3 and sometimes it doesn't. Going back to CS4 and exporting a new .inx file never works - a file that will not link correctly in CS3 will never show up correctly.
It always thinks "foo" is a .jpg file, even if the original link was actually a .pdf, .eps or whatever.
Any ideas? I'm perplexed.

Smells like a bug to me. Did you try reporting it?
What happens if you search the incp file for "foo"? Does it find
anything?
When the vendor opens the file, what is the link name on his end?

Trouble opening raw files in Elements 10

I have a new Canon T5i and have updated Camera Raw to 6.7 in Elements 10 but I still can't open raw files in the Editor. My OS is Safari 6.0. What can I do?

You can either:
- upgrade to PSE11 and automatically update the ACR module to version 7.4 in the help menu
- use the free DNG converter (download link in the above links) to batch convert whole folders to the DNG format which PSE10 can read
- use the Canon software supplied with your camera to convert to tiff and open them in the editor.

I think you are talking about *.xlsx files which are the default format for Excel both Windows an Mac versions. Try opening the file within in the program. Example file, open, then select your file. If that don't work try opening the file in Excel for Windows and resaving it as a .xlsx and a .xls version then see which one opens on the Mac Office.

It would probably be a better idea to post a response to the previous thread in which you had already interacted with Robert...he might be subscribed to that thread, so he would be notified of your response.
As for the error, you are correct...an error 8 when loading VIs indicates that the VIs were saved in a newer version of LabVIEW than the one you are using.
If you are interested in upgrading to the latest version of LabVIEW, I recommend you visit www.ni.com/labview to learn about LabVIEW 6i...there are some great new connectivity and usability features in this version, and the upgrade is only $395 for registered users!
