Trouble opening JPG files sent to my email address in Mail
If I open my Mail box, I am unable to view JPG sent to me, but if I log onto >mac through firefox, the photos are displayed as per normal, but if I use the Mail appl, all I get is text messages
However, if I reply from the .Mac mailbox, the reply
is still "from" the AOL account (I'm assuming because
it looks at the To: field first). Is there any way I
can have it reply from the email address where I
received the message (if I am looking at it from my
.Mac inbox, I want it to reply from my .Mac account,
even if it was only CCed there).
It sounds like you have two Email account preferences: one for your .mac the other for the aol. Depending on which account you have selected will determine which outgoing email server is used. Check that the selected mac account prefs is using .mac as its outgoing mail server.

To: and CC: are both sent to my email addresses; can Mail reply correctly?
I have several email addresses, and in Mail, I have my .Mac account and AOL account set up.
If someone sends an email to my AOL account, and CCs it to my .Mac account (or alias), the message goes to both inboxes, which is fine.
However, if I reply from the .Mac mailbox, the reply is still "from" the AOL account (I'm assuming because it looks at the To: field first). Is there any way I can have it reply from the email address where I received the message (if I am looking at it from my .Mac inbox, I want it to reply from my .Mac account, even if it was only CCed there).
Thanks!

I cannot open an attachments sent to my email address. ideas?
I have received several emails with an attachment with them and i cannot sem to open them yet my blackberry phone gets them showing a PDF attachement or other types. Any ideas of what is wrong? I cannot seem to find a switch that turns this feature on or off.
thanksThere is no feature to turn it off and on. You should be able to view pdf files as mail attachments "out of the box" with no additional apps needed. You should be able to open all of these.
Mail attachment support
Viewable document types: .jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel)
Quit the mail app and restart the iPad and see if that works.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -

Can't print jpg files sent in emails - they're autosaved as HP MediaSmart photos
when someone sends me a .jpg file in an email, it comes thru as HP MediaSmart photo, and the only options are for "play". "rotate", edit or trash. There are no options for printing or saving. And you can't right click. So I can't accept any .jpg files sent to me.
Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that you cannot print jpg files sent in your emails. With your HP Officejet 9620, on Windows 7. I am happy to look into this issue for you! I am assuming you have the HP Officejet 8620, as I cannot seem to find a HP Officejet 9620 online. If this is not your printer, please post your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. According to this guide, Using HP MediaSmart Software Photo Features, you should be able to print your photos by doing the following: For home printing, just select the photos you’d like to print with HP MediaSmart Photo’s drag-and-drop print option. With one easy click or touch, you can add your print-ready photos to your printing queue. To print your photos from HP MediaSmart Photo, click Print Photos on the bottom of the MediaSmart Photo window. Click the album or slideshow from which you would like to print, and then click the add photo icon for each photo you would like to print. With the Print Picture controls, you can zoom in or out on the image, and move the image left-right or up-down to change the composition. If you change your mind about printing certain photos, click and drag the photo to the trash can or click Clear All to remove all the photos from printing. I would also recommend our HP Print and Scan Doctor, if you are unable to print from other programs as well. Hope this is helpful, and thank you for posting! “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

Opening .jpg files give an error
Hi there,
some of our mac clients are having trouble opening JPG files in Photoshop. the problem occurs when they try to import them from bridge or open them directly from photoshop.
the error states: "Can not execute request because of a program error".
all of the users have fully updated Macs and fully updated Creative cloud.
the files are currently located on a DFS Share in a windows domain but copying the files locally doesnt seem to fix the issue.
any help would be appreciated.
Gr. Michiel Holtzbump, is there someone who can point me in the direction of solving these issues ?
thanks in advance -
When I receive a .jpg file attached to an email, it shows up in my email on my iPhone as a "winmail.dat" attached file and cannot open in.
Hello, Rick.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I see you have tried some troubleshooting steps already with the issue persisting. There are just a couple more steps that I would go through in the article below.
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
If the option to turn on W-Fi is grayed out, see this article for steps on troubleshooting.

Trouble opening pdf files on version 9.4...
Hi, I recently updated (10/7/10) my Adobe from 9.34 to 9.4 and now I'm having trouble opening my files that were working fine with 9.34.. I read the other post but the problem still seems to occur for my mac..the error message I am getting is..
Adobe Reader could not open 'maher39767_0324639767_02.11_chapter11.spdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
I reinstalled Adobe and I'm still getting the problem...
Please help.Does this happen with any pdf or this particular pdf ? If it happens with this pdf only then may be the pdf is not properly downloaded or may be damaged.

Error message: "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg files"
I'm using DW 8, and I have installed the 8.0.2 update. I'm
having trouble inserting certain JPG images into a site. I get an
error message pop-up that states "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg
files". It will allow me to insert some jpg files, but not all of
them. I've tried drag & drop and going through the Insert menu.
The files are not large at all. Doesn't appear to be any problem
with png's or gif's. It's incredibly frustrating. Anyone have any
suggestions? TIA.> why was i taught that all my web images need
> to be in 72dpi if it doesn't really matter?
most people suggest 72 because it was an old standard with
the early
macintosh DTP programs. For web use it's easier to
standardize on it because
when you make an image, you have to put ~some~ number in the
resolution box
and it might as well be 72 as any other number. It simplifies
moving image
files around in different applications if they are all the
same resolution.
For display in a browser, these will all have the same file
size and display
size in a web page:
600x600 pixels at 1dpi
600x600 pixels at 72dpi
600x600 pixels at 6000dpi
It's when they are used in other applications or when a
direct url like
/photos/1.jpg is printed out that they may display in the
resolution, not
the pixel dimension.
I came across a page once where the designer always saved his
images with a
resolution of 6000 dpi or some other odd number because he
thought that if
people dragged the image off the page to save it- most of
them wouldn't be
able to resize it. or some other idiot reason maybe.

Having Trouble Opening TIFF Files
I'm having trouble opening TIFF files into Camera Raw. I have checked all my settings in Adobe Bridge and everything seems to be saying that TIFF files should open in Camera Raw when I click on then int and then into photoshop when finished editing in camera raw.
I'm trying to open 32 bit HDR images saved as a TIFF file into Camera Raw, and there seems to be nothing I can do to get them there. I have tried everything I can think of. When I right click on it (cmd click I'm on a mac) the option to open in camera Raw isn't there. I have tried clicking and dragging the image into Photoshop to try and force it maybe to open into Camera Raw, and I have opened photoshop and tried opeing it up from mini Bridge. In mini bridge I have the option to open the image into Camera Raw when I click this nothing happens.
I'm not sure what else to try I'm on CS6 and Camera Raw 7.0 .Alright I'll try that thanks!

It might be that you need to update camera raw to version 8.3 by going to Help>Updates from within photoshop or bridge.
(i don't remember exactly in which version of acr that was added, but probably after version 7.0)

For some reason I cannot open jpg files from a co-worker who previosuly sent files without any problems. I just bought a MacBook Air with OS X Lion & Preview won't open the files. She sent the same files to another co-worker who opened without any issues? Help! Anyone have any suggestions after having the same or similar problem?
I don't have an answer as to why Preview doesn't want to cooperate, but if you only need to view the jpeg's and do nothing else to them, you can use two FREE applications that come already pre-installed on your Mac... Those are iPhoto and Safari. Just drag and drop over the application icon.
You can also find several FREE photo viewers in the APP STORE. -
