Trouble Opening Photoshop CC on MacBook

Hi,
I recently purchased a used MacBook Pro and just put my Photoshop CC on it today.  Now when I try to open it, I'm getting this error message:
"To open “Adobe Photoshop CC,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet."
My only options from there is to hit ok and everything closes out or run diagnotics.  When I run diagnostics it says that everything is fine with my Wi-fi and that I am connected, which is true.
I then ran all updates I had available and then restarted my laptop.... but, still haveing the same message :/
Any help wwould be much appreciated!
Brooke

Hi Brooke, were you ever able to solve this issue?

  • Trouble opening photoshop doc in CS5

    hello there,
I am having trouble opening my older files (CS4) in my new CS5. Is there normal? I can preview the file when i 'space bar' it on the desktop but thats about it. When i go to open the file it says 'Could not complete your request because an unknown jpeg marker type is found. Do you think this might be font related?
    Hope someone can help.
    Thank you.
    Nicola

Are the files psd-files or jpgs?
    Boilerplate-text:
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.
Other than that if it is not a huge number of files you could try to open the images in Preview and saving them as another format.

  • Trouble opening Photoshop CS5.1 and pdf files

Hi.  I have an early model of a Mac Pro I got about 6 years ago.  I have 4 harddrives, and I’ve installed OS X version 10.7.5 on one drive, and 10.6.8 on another drive.  I have Photoshop Elements 8 and 9 installed on the 10.7.5 harddrive.  They work fine. I also have Photoshop CS5.1 installed.  It worked fine for a few months, but now it will not open.  I tried re-installing from the disk – it re-installed, but it still will not open.  I also have it installed on the harddrive with version 10.6.8, and it works fine there.  Also, when I am using 10.7.5 I cannot download and read pdf files from the web; they work just fine when I am using 10.6.8.  Anyone out there have any suggestions for fixing this dilemma?   I sure would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

    Hi Joe,
Sorry for the trouble after the Yosemite update! First thing I would try would be to check the disk permissions with Disk Utility and run a repair, then see if it runs ok.
Sometimes that can do the trick.
If not, then Your next best bet would be to uninstall CS5.1, download, and reinstall it to the new computer/OS.
The downloads are available here: Other downloads
Give these suggestions a try and let us know how it goes,
    Regards,

  • 'Configuration Error: 6' appears when attempting to open Photoshop on new Macbook

I had Photoshop CS5 installed on my previous Macbook which is now broken, however a friend of mine was able to copy it on to an external hard drive for me. I have now purchased a new Macbook, copied and installed Photoshop on to it from the external, however when I try to open it, 'Error: 6' appears, it states: 'Configuration error. Please uninstall and reinstall the product. if this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.'
How do I fix this problem? Thank you in advance.

Install Photoshop from scratch from the original medium, download or DVD.
Whether your friend "copied" Photoshop from your own broken Mac Book or from his machine (the latter would be completely illegal software piracy, by the way), that will NEVER work on your new machine.
First, the Photoshop installation places many auxiliary files outside the Photoshop folder all over the place.  Copying misses a bunch of critical files.
Second, the activation of the installed copy of the activation is tied to the serial numbers on the CPU of the machine and is useless in any other machine.
I repeat:  Install Photoshop from scratch from the original medium, download or DVD.

  • Trouble opening Photoshop Elements 11

I recently bought a Wacom pen tablet and it came with an offer to download Photoshop Elements 11 for free. As I usually work with Elements 7, I decided to download the software, but when I try to click on the desktop shortcut to run the program, the loading spinner will appear briefly and then disappear. The program does not open. I tried restarting my computer and I tried reinstalling but to no avail. I gave up and tried to return to using Elements 7, but now even that program is experiencing the same problem. It just won't open.
I tried finding a .PSD file and opening the program that way, which was slightly more useful. The usual Photoshop initializing banner showed up and it appeared to be opening, but then it stops and I get this message: "Adobe Photoshop Elemens 11 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." with the only option to "Close program"
I already tried the solution of deleting the preferences as mentioned in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/5922614. It didn't work. And I run Windows 7.

I have yet to solve this issue... Can anyone offer any advice?

  • Trouble installing Photoshop CS6 on Macbook

I have photoshop cs6 installed on my desktop which is a PC. I also want to install it on my macbook but it is saying my serial number is invalid. I typed it in numerous times and it will not work. Help???

It's not possible. Standalone licenses are platform specific. You need a second license for your Mac or use Creative Cloud.

  • Trouble opening EndNote with 2010 MacBook Pro, updated to Maverick

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro and recently upgraded to Maverick.  Today, I attempted to open EndNote and was hit with the following error:  "Unable to load: /Applications/EndNote X3/EndNoteX3.app/Contents/Resources/ENCore.bundle"
I downloaded the PagesEndNoteplugin2 to see if that allowed me to open EndNote and it still gave me the same error message.
I do not use Pages, I use Word.
    I'm hoping someone can help!

While in Time Machine, press the key combination shift-command-C. The front window will show all mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible. Select the one you want and navigate to the files you want to restore.
