Trouble pairing bluetooth speakers mavericks

I am having trouble detecting other bluetooth devices that are not the apple mouse or keyboard.  Any suggestions how to detect other bluetooth devices?

  • How do I disable iTunes automatically opening when I pair bluetooth speakers on Mavericks?

I turn on my bluetooth headphones, they pair to the computer and OS X automatically opens iTunes. How do I prevent OS X from automatically opening iTunes in Mavericks?
There was a solution in earlier builds of OS X in the CD & DVD settings. It appears that solution no longer works in Mountain Lion and Mavericks as that preference pane option no longer exists (or at least, does not exist for Retina Macbook Pros or Macbook Airs).
Is there a different solution? If not, this should absolutely be considered a bug.

I agree. Everytime I connect to my bluetooth speakers, iTunes forces itself open and causes playback errors in my other music apps. I can recreate the problem.
There does not seem to be an obvious fix on OS X Mavericks.

  • HT2995 Trouble Pairing Bluetooth speaker with Mac Mini

I can't seem to get the Bluetooth on my Mac Mini to recognize my LG wireless speakers (though the Bluetooth on my iPad recognizes the LG wireless speakers). Any thoughts on how to correct this?
The Mac Mini simply does not seem to recognize that the LG speaker exists.  I know the LG speaker is in Bluetooth discxoverable mode, as my iPad sees it.

Better yet, on the iPad make sure the speakers are unpaired-removed, and then try pairing with your mini.

  • Trouble pairing bluetooth keyboard with mac mini

I bought a generic bluetooth keyboard and I am trying to use it with a Mac mini using 10.6.8.  The bluetooth setup sees "Bluetooth Keyboard" and connects to it.  I enter the passcode on the keyboard, but after about 25 seconds it says "The pairing attempt was unsuccessful.  This configuration of Mac OS X and Bluetooth software could be invalid or unsupported."  If I watch the bluetooth control panel during this process, it says it is connected and paired as soon as I hit "return" but then disappears when I get the message.  I already tried trashing com.apple.bluetooth.plist and restarting.  I made sure nothing was on top of the Mac, and turned off the WiFi on my router, but nothing helps.

Update:  I tried to pair with my bluetooth cell phone.  If I initiate the connection from the Mac, same thing.  However, I was able to successfully pair and download pictures, if I initiate from the phone.  ???

  • Pairing Bluetooth speakers with more than one ipad.

Hi we have a Bluetooth speaker we use with our iPads however, it will not let us pair it with a second iPad even after the first one has been unpaired, and then won't let us re-pair it with the first one.   Any thoughts or suggestions would help greatly!

According to the device's specifications, up to 8 paired devices can be stored in the unit's memory.
First thing I would try would be to clear the speaker's Bluetooth device memory:
    Power on the ISB311B
Press and hold both track FW and RW    Buttons (Double Arrows) for 10 seconds or until the blue L.E.D. light flashes rapidly
All stored Bluetooth devices will be deleted from memory resetting to factory default.
Note: Disconnecting power will not rest this device
Afterwards, try and pair the first, then second device.

  • Having trouble pairing Bluetooth with Chevy Mylink

Since iOS 8 and 8.02 I have lost most of my functionality with Mylink in my Chevy Camaro.  I even loaded iOs 8.1 last night.  Still no functionality.  So I removed the device from MyLink and told my iPhone to forget this connection.  Now it won't pair back MyLink at all.  Is anyone else having this issue...?

Did you ever find help for this issue? I purchased a 2014 Silverado with 4.3 screen MyLink installed. Everything worked fine for 4 months until I updated to IOS 8.1.3. now I've lost Voice Command and not wanting to reconnect to MyLink. Took it to dealership and they reinstalled latest MyLink software still not working. None of my 3 iPhones 5 and 5s, Ipad or Ipod work correctly anymore since the latest Apple Updates. Getting really tired of Apple Updates that don't work. Going to switch to Andriods and Aftermarket Audio Units. It's Apple Updates and they will not accept responsiblity that their programmers are not fixing the issues with their software or they wouldn't have to come out with so many Updates.

  • Pairing my JBL bluetooth speakers prompts iTunes launch

Whenever I pair my JBL Charge bluetooth speakers with my (late 2011 13") MBP running Mavericks (10.9.4 - 64-bit), iTunes (11.3.1 (2) - 64-bit) will automatically launch. Just like that, out of the blue, surprise surprise, like an annoying internet pop-up ad. Needless to say, this is extremely irritating.
I've tinkered with iTunes settings, and have also tried to find a solution in the internet. After what I consider a reasonable time (1h) I was not succesful in fixing this. I mean, come on, isn't apple all about easy going and properly functioning products? Why can't I easily find a solution to this issue? Does it even exist?
At any rate, it's quite pathetic that Apple resorts to this kind of blatant invasion of your privacy, just to get you to use iTunes. It's almost dictatorial.
Please, Apple fanboys (not saying Apple fans, which I think I am), refrain from twisting things and blaming the user.
Thanks a ton, have a great day!
    Juan

Thank you very much, the info in the last link did the trick, and it was very easy.
About who is to blame, being Apple as overly proud of their perfection and flawlesness, yes, I think I have the right to blame them. My speaker is not a fancy device, it's only a bluetooth speaker from a major vendor. Also, the fact that the script only opens iTunes... it's not like Apple never tried to shove their products/ideas on everyone's face. Kind of suspicious, wouldn't you say?
I really appreaciate their products, but I do like democracy and freedom to choose as well. Maybe not the adjectives to best describe Apple. And on top of that, at least iPhone wise (also a user here), I think they're just over reaping the harvest. I don't say they ought to come up with a breakthough surprise in each iPhone iteration, but at least innovate a little. If not, I don't see the point of paying such a premium
Have a great day, and again, thanks!!!

  • Can I pair and use more than one set of bluetooth speakers at the same time on my ipod touch 4.0

can I pair and use more than one set of bluetooth speakers at the same time on my ipod touch 4.0 or Iphone 4s or Ipad 2?

You can only connect to one device at a time using Bluetooth, See article below for more information.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1664
While your iOS device can maintain multiple pairing records, it can only connect to one headset or hands-free device at a time. This prevents your iOS device from sending your data to the wrong Bluetooth accessory.

  • New iPad mini with Retina won't pair with new Bluetooth speakers

Just got a brand new 16gb iPad mini with Retina display and also TDK (Life on Record) Bluetooth speakers. The iPad mini will not display the speakers on the optional bluetooth menu when I attempt to pair. I have tried all combinations of rebooting and making sure there are no other bluetooth signals near. Please help.
PS - My iPhone pairs perfectly so nothing wrong with the speakers. And yes I unpaired and tried turning off the phone when attempting to pair the iPad

This worked on my TDK speaker, first time you sync a new device, hold down Bluetooth button on device until it beeps then turn on iPad bluetooth and it will detect and then connect. I hooked two new minis to it by this procedure., clearing the device each time by holding down the Bluetooth button until beep.  Once connected this way one time the speaker remains in my iPhone and the two iPads and connects with no problems now.  I guess some devices hold one connection in the memory but once your Idevice has the info it can connect.

  • Wireless Bluetooth Speakers (TDK A33s) Won't Stay Paired to Windows 8.1 (Lenovo IdeaPad Y580)

    Hello,
I recently acquired a pair of Bluetooth speakers (the TDK A33), and am unable to connect it to my PC. The Bluetooth interface sees the speakers, connects with
them for a few seconds when I try to pair, and then disconnects. The speakers connect to my phone just fine, so it's not the speakers (and TDK tech support hasn't exactly been very helpful).
    I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo IdeaPad Y580; I tried updating
my Bluetooth drivers, as a few sites recommended (pulling them from them Lenovo site), but still no dice. I've read a few things that seem to suggest is a
    Windows 8.1 issue.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,

try to check whether you have the latest version

check also whether this Bluetooth can be connected to other device

try to other PC with Windows 8.1 OS if any

Hi! I have an x-mini headset which im having trouble pairing to my iPhone 5s with bluetooth, any tips please?

Cellular calling doesn't yet work reliably.
Make sure you've followed the instructions in this support article. Note that both iCloud and FaceTime on the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple ID; those are two separate steps. Also note that the Mac and the phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Ethernet won't work. Trying to pair the phone to the Mac as a Bluetooth device won't work either.
If cellular calling still doesn't work, sign out of FaceTime and sign back in. You may have to do the same on the phone. The email address that you use as your Apple ID must be able to receive FaceTime calls.

  • Ipad IOS 8 Bluetooth speakers no longer work

Upgraded Ipad 3 to IOS 8 and Boston Acoustics Bluetooth speakers no longer work.  The speakers pair with the Ipad, but connection drops when opening any app that attempts to use the bluetooth connection.  Seems like the updated IOS blutooth driver is the problem.  I tested with Iphone 4, Iphone 5, ipad 2  running  IOS 7
and all work fine.  Tested with Iphone 6 plus, Ipad 3, Ipad 2 using IOS 8 and none of the IOS 8 devices work...   Also did the IOS 8 patch and did not fix this issue.
The Boston Acoustics Speakers supports Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, A2DP v1.2
Seems like Apple can't get the wireless side right, IOS 6 had issues with Wifi and Bluetooth muting, that was corrected in IOS 7, now another wireless problem that makes these $350 speakers a boat anchor..... and not usable.
Perhaps they need to hire some RF / Wireless engineers and do a better job of regression testing...  I am a wireless engineer and know that we never make hardware or software upgrades without extensive inter op testing and friendly user trials...
    John

I have this same exact issue with my Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS Digital Cinema 2.1 system. Any other device can connect just fine including all of my previous iPhones and Android devices, but my new iPhone 6 will not keep the connection. Strange because the iPhone 6 will connect and work perfectly fine with my Plantronics Voyager Legend and my JBL Flip bluetooth. What happened guys, Mr. Jobs passed and you all forgot how to do proper QA? This type of foolishness is expected from Microsoft, not Apple.

  • Can I use bluetooth speakers with my IMac

I want some wireless speakers to use outdoors.  If I get bluetooth speakers and pair them with my iMac (MountainLion) will I be able to listen to iTunes output.

You should be able to listen to your music in iTunes through the Bluetooth speakers. If, after buying the speakers, you can't select them in iTunes, just go to System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the Bluetooth speakers
