Trouble posting an app update

Hi,
Has anyone been able to post an app update and sent it successfully to Apple to get under review? I have an app on the App Store that I am trying to get to update, and when I tried to send in the .zip using the Upload form, it said it failed the codesign verification. But I tried the codesign thing on my machine and that worked fine and said it passed. I was finally able to send it through the Application Loader successfully, but it still says "Waiting for Upload". I have never gotten the Application Loader to work right, and I don't think it checks the file correctly.
There seems to be a problem that my current version application is not able to be downloaded by users. It says my app is currently being modified in the App Store when they try to download it. I thought the apps were supposed to stay online until the new one becomes available? Does anyone know how to remove an application from the list in the Program portal, if the status is "Waiting for Upload"?
Thanks,

I was able to get my app out of the Waiting for Upload. It was one of two things or both combined.
1. I followed the directions for multiple applications and uploaded again.
2. I tried to update the update notes to say the update was to fix Apple's Distribution Certification issue and ran into an issue that the update text field could only be 64 characters long so I trimmed down my old update description to 63 characters.
Then magically it appeared.
I'm onto updating my second app. We'll see if that makes it beyond waiting for upload.

  • Can't load apps updates

Hello all, after updating to version 10.5.0.142, iTunes doesn't load apps updates anymore.
When I attempt to do it, receive back a screen message saying that there are no updates available ......! but I know there are updates because if I do it from the iPad or iPhone it works fine. Anybody experienced this trouble?

Can't offer a solution but see my posting on apps updates on my Iphone and iPad hanging.
All a **** mess and I blame the latest IOS 5 update.  The first one certainly made a mess of my stuff.

  • I am having trouble with app updates on my iOS 5 iPhone never getting beyond the "waiting" state.

I am having trouble with app updates on my iOS 5 iPhone never getting beyond the "waiting" state. I have tried signing out/in of my account, rebooting and removing/re-installing the apps.  This started shortly after going to iOS 5 but I am not certain if that is related.  All updates that I try now are stuck in "waiting".  I also tried removing the apps and then installing via iTunes desktop sync with no improvement.  The only thing that I have not tried so far is a restore to a prior iPhone backup.  I have not been able to find anything to indciate what the updates on waiting on.  There is plenty of space on the iPhone (16gb available).  Any suggestions on what to try next?

    Hello there, Missy.
First thing I would recommend is to check your downloads queue to make sure there is not an interrupted download per the following Knowledge Base article:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1725
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    1. From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
    2. For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
    3. Enter your account name and password if prompted.
    4. Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.
For Apps, you can also try tapping on the application icon to resume the download, as outline in this featured discussion:
App updates won't download on my...: Apple Support Communities
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111336
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

I have the same problem and I haven't solved it yet. On Friday I plugged in my iPad to my work computer after not having done so for quite a while. Today I went onto the work computer and discovered I had not updated iTunes before plugging in the iPad (and which I cannot do without an administrator password). I guess I will update iTunes and try again when I can get the guy to show up with the password. I hope that works. The reset idea does not work on mine.
Was your iiTunes updated before you tried? Have you found any solution yet? Mail and some internet apps still work but games, notes applications, spreadsheets etc. just begin to open and close immediately.
If anybody has answers I'd love to get some clues.

  • Trouble downloading app updates

So, I have been away for a week only to come home and when I try to download the 23 app updates available on iTunes, (iTunes is working by the way) I get a message telling me they have already been purchased and to download I need to go to Check for Available Downloads in the Store.
Can't find it, so I just go to the download tab that appears on the left and at the bottom is a button and next to it, it says "23 iTunes Downloads Available" I click on the button. Then, I get a message telling me "Unable to Check for Available Downloads. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later". Now, iTunes is available, I can still access podcast updates and other features of the store, I just can't get these app updates!

I had the exact same problem, and it appeared in three ways:
    1. I could not check for available downloads - which gave the "iTunes store isn't available" message
    2. Some (but not all) iphone/pad applications would not update in itunes throwing a "you have already purchased this product" error
    3. In the Mac AppStore, I could not reinstall or update some applications - clicking "INSTALL" would prompt for my password, the button would turn grey, wait a beat, and then flash back to Install with no error message (except some obscure callback thing in my system.log)
I did a bunch of research and found that the problem was my "download queue" - which appears to be a tally of all the stuff that itunes should download when it first loads - was either to large, or had an item in it which was no longer available in the store.
To reset my queue, I called applecare (yes, regular apple care) and explained my problem. The rep was super nice, and initiated a chat with the itunes team. There is no direct way to contact the itunes support team other than email (which for me went unanswered), so its awesome that applcare is (or was for me) willing to jump into the fray.
After about 5 minutes, i was told that my queue "sure had a bunch of stuff in it" and it had been reset. So far so good, I've been able to download all my stuff again.

  • My app update problem is not being posted

WHy is the 6 plus having app update problems

Because there is no problem for others.  Why are you using iOS 8.1 - current version is 8.3.  Jailbroken?

  • IPad Web App updating issue

My iPad is showing 2 web app updates in the queue.  However, when I click on 'Updates' in the App Store, no updates are showing.  Any ideas how I can both get the updates to show and then to download the updates?

There are countless posts about this.  There's a problem at Apple's end and has been so for several days.
However, I have no trouble updating using itunes on my computer and later syncing to my device.

  • HP ePrint iOS app no longer finds Photosmart C4780 after app update

I have an HP Photosmart C4780 connected through WiFi to my network but sadly it's not supported by AirPrint on iDevices.
So, I was using HP ePrint Home & Biz iOS app (version 4.1) which was very useful for me as it found the printer and allowed me to print from my iPad/iPhone.
Today I updated the app on my iPhone to version 5 (now simply named "HP ePrint" on the App Store) and after the update, the new version doesn't find my Photosmart C4780 anymore. I did the Activation thing on the iPhone, as it was requested to refresh the list of printer on my network in the All tab, but after Refresh no printer is found.
Still I have the old 4.1 on my iPad (and hopefully in my iTunes library) and the printer is located, I assume, through mDSN as it shows the name specified for this setting.
So, question is: Did you dropped support for Photosmart C4780 on 5.0 release of HP ePrint iOS app? If so, why did't you informed this appropriately on the app update text description in the App Store? A message like "some printers may not be supported anymore" would have been helpul.
If HP ePrint should find Photosmart C4700 series printers and this is an issue, how should we proceed from here?
    Thanks.

    WilliamBPS,
I was not informed that support was removed from the app for certain printers. It may have been lost in the transition to the new updated app. I will deffinitly pass this information along as it is very important that the app supports as many printers as it can. I'll go ahead and take note of your printer model. If I find anything out about this, I'll try to give you an update in this thread.

  • I am having trouble in the app store after upgrading to iPhone 5 and iOS 6

I am having trouble since upgrading from iPhone 4s to iPhone 5.  The "restore" feature never completed after activation of the new phone (it was close, only "find my iphone" app did not complete - it looked like it is forever trying to download).  But now, when I have tried to update apps, or even purchase new (free or paid) apps, the store does not let me.  It flashes error messages on my screen so quickly they cannot be read (the first is something about signing in to the store with an apple ID).  I have seen other similar threads and have tried logging out and into the app store from the settings menu.
I also cannot get any of my music to transfer to the iPhone (from the icloud).  It seems to be trying to but I just get the spinning wheel of death.
Any thoughts or help out there would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Why do app updates no longer show up for me in iTunes?

Please don't stop reading, because I think my issue is different from similar ones I've found posts about.
For the past week or so, I've been unable to update apps through iTunes. When I click "Check for Updates," it shows "Accessing iTunes Store" at the top of the screen, but after it finishes I never get a dialog box -- neither the dialog box saying there are new updates nor the one saying there are not. Also, I don't get the notification in the left hand column next to "Applications" that normally shows how many app updates are available. The latter point is what seems to distinguish my problem from the other posts I've seen, in which push notification seems to work but updating fails. I can't even see any updates in the first place -- and this occurs even when I can see from using the App Store on my iPhone that I have multiple updates available. And I have a lot of apps.
I should add that this is especially mysterious because it is the only problem I am having with iTunes. I can still download NEW apps from the iTunes App Store, sync my iPhone, download podcasts, etc. I can also update Apps on my iPhone itself. My internet service is working fine. This problem began with the previous version of iTunes and has continued in iTunes 8.1.
One final confession. A few weeks ago, I went through my Apps folder and deleted the non-current versions of all of my apps, hoping to save space on my old computer's hard drive. I don't think this is the cause of the problem, because app updating continued to work for a few weeks after that. But I mention it in the interest of full disclosure. But in addition to my main question, I'd be interested in knowing if this is a bad idea for future reference.
I am running iTunes 8.1.0.51 on Windows XP Home edition (SP 3), and I have a first-generation 4GB iPhone.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks very much!

ell, exactly same problem here: could not have been described better. It all started when I noticed that I could no longer update iPhone apps. "Applications" folder under Library showed such updates awaiting downloading: I could not get any further.
AND SUDDENLY, for no reason, the "Application" in iTunes "Library" disappears! No folder visible, no apps listing, no updates mentioned. Wow!
i had contacted Apple's iTunesStoreSupport in regard to the initial incident, and was kindly informed that:
    +"Dear Roger,+
+Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support for assistance. I understand that you are receiving intermittent connection errors using iTunes 8.1.+
+Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.+
+Thank you very much for your patience, and I am sorry for any delay in enjoyment of your iTunes experience. Finding a solution for you is important to me.+
+Remember, we wish your iTunes experience to be truly enjoyable. Take care, and thank you for being a valued iTunes Store customer. Your business is most appreciated.+
    +Best regards"+
I thus figured that in some way "all was in control"... Until the Applications forum disappeared. Apps gone??? Are they stored somewhere on my Mac??
I have just emailed an update incident report to iTunesStoreSupport with screen prints to show abrupt, undesired change.

  • Unable to get new Apps after purchasing iPod Touch app update

I know this is a frequent topic but I can't help but feel my situation is a little different to others I've read.
After purchasing the app update the new apps failed to appear. I also had a USB port problem at the time that prevent a correct sync - after switching ports everything is fine again - except for the new apps.
On each subsequent sync itunes attempts to sync the new apps but instead I get :
    "Unknown error occurred 0xE8000001"
The only problem is the apps though, any new music, podcasts, movies etc are synced without a problem.
From reading other posts on similar topics I have seen (and tried) the following :
Do a restore - tried more times than I can count.
Make sure you are running up to date iTunes and iPod software - done and done - 7.6 and 1.1.3.
Try a different USB port - I have 8 USB 2.0 ports available (4 sets of 2) none have helped. Neither did my powered USB2 hub. Neither does unplugging everything but the mouse and keyboard. The ports work fine for everything else; mouse, keyboard, gaming claw, ext hard drive (with the exception of the bad one).
Switch off manual management and resync - no help.
Uncheck the checked items only option - no help.
Out of desparation I tried to restore and buy the update again on my MacBookPro but the iTunes store prevented the purchase as I already had it.
I have read that when this error occurs it generally seems to be related to USB power but in those cases it usually means the iPod is not being recognised by iTunes - and I am not having that problem.
Any suggestions anyone can provide would be most appreciated.

I managed to fix this one out by copy the app enabling file (iPod tiuch App Pack 4A93) to the corresponding directory (\iTunes\Mobile Applications) on the Mac and doing an 'erase and sync'.
The apps were promptly synced to the iPod and remained when I resynced on the XP machine.
I noticed this one got a few readers but no responses - has anyone else had the same problem? If you are, I suspect you may be able to get the same result by copying the file and syncing on another PC.

  • Update Failed, CC App Updates, win 8.1

Programs are installing ok, but when there is an update I get the error shown in my screenshot. I have read other posts but all I saw was Mac support. I am on WIN 8.1
I need help asap, because both email, ticket, and phone support via Adobe has been no help at all..........

    Hi Devendar_kumar
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it didn't solve the issue.
At first I followed the note that said:
NOTE: If you are a Creative Cloud member and were advised to download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager, please click on the following URL and download the latest Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application: "
It downloaded, asked me to close my running instance of CC, which I did. Finished the process and then said something along the lines of 'application failed to install Error: 1'
Then I tried not heeding the NOTE, and I downloaded application manager 8. It downloaded fine, then I ran it and it said "updating Adobe Application Manager", it finished the prompt and I restarted my computer.
But alas, my app updates still get stuck on "waiting"
I'm in the middle of a big video project and I really can't afford to uninstall, redownload and reinstall all my apps. Luckily for now they all work, I'm just concerned about receiving updates in the future.

My ipad is saying I have app updates to install, but won't allow me to update. The update screen is blank. Any ideas on how to fix?

There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.
