Trouble Printing from PhShop 10.0.1 in Leopard 10.5.7

Installed the latest Leoprad 10.5.7 and now when I try to print from PhShop CS3 10.0.1, the program crashes.
No problems with Ai or InDesign.
Also installed the latest XEROX Phaser 7760DN drivers...
Any suggestions out there?

Running Windows 7 with 2 GB of RAM is like swimming through molasses on a cold winter's morning. You need more RAM. Having said that make sure that you are not using the print as image setting in the print dialog box since that will exacerbate you low memory issues.

  • I am having trouble printing from my computer. The printer keeps giving me an error message.

I have an hp officejet 6500A printer, i am having trouble printing from my computer which is an hp windows 7 64-bit  to my computer. I keep recieving an error message on the printer stating that the paper size or type does not match. What do I need to do to get my computer to print to my printer?

Hi - A couple of things to try.  First, in whatever app you're in, go into File, Print and Printer Properties and set the paper size appropriately.  After that, go into Page Setup in whatever app you're in and set the appropriate size in there as well.  In many cases, this problem is caused by different sizes being set within the printer driver and the app.  If that doesn't work, go back into Printer Properties and try choosing a different paper type (Plain Paper).  I've also had that resolve the problem before.
    Hope that helps.

  • Trouble printing from a MacBook to a network printer wirelessly

I have a Samsung printer connected to a Windows 7 machine and am attempting to print from a MacBook. I try the usual AdvancedWindows+SMB-addressShare-name technique. When I go to print, the MB asks for My Username and password for the W7 box. Upon entering the information, I receive an NTSTATUS_CONNECTIONREFUSED message and no printing takes place.
Curiously, a Mac mini (10.5.8 also) which is connected to the network by wire (the MB is connected wirelessly) prints just fine to the same printer using the same configuration.
Does Anyone have any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue? Can Anyone point Me in the direction of documentation which could help?
    Thanks in advance.

I figured out the answer using this excellent Web page: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3000.html.
The problem was that when I used the "Wizard" on the PC to install the shared printer, it picked the Deskjet driver by default. But the iMac needs to get the printer data in Postscript, which its own driver then translates into Deskjet speak. So after creating the printer on the Thinkpad I had to go into its Properties and change to the Apple Color Laserwriter driver.

  • Having trouble printing from remote computer

I have an Epson CX4200 connected directly to an iMac G5 running OS 10.5. I access the internet wireless through a router. When I was running 10.4 on the iMac G5, I was able to print via printer sharing from my iMac running 10.3.9 without a hitch. After installing the new OS onto the G5, I choose "print" from the file menu on the older iMac, select the Epson CX4200 from the shared printer drop down menu (it's the only one in the house) and click "print". It looks like the data is spooling to the printer and the printer icon appears in the dock. Then nothing. I go to the iMac G5 and open the printer window. NOthing has been sent. I can't understand why these two operating systems cannot communicate with each other. I am not able to install 10.4 onto the older iMac. When I insert the disc, it just pops it back out. Don't know why that is but I thought if I installed the 10.4 onto the older iMac, that would solve the printer sharing issues. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

Okay, so I tried your suggestion and no luck! I also tried every other scenario that the computers allow and nothing. When I went to add a printer, the rendezvous popped up and my printer that is connected to the iMac G5 showed up. If I just choose that and don't select a printer model, just generic, nothing happens when I try to send the job. A printer dialogue box shows something for a split second then returns to "no job printing". However when I choose the printer in rendezvous and then Epson down below, my printer doesn't appear in the list of models. So I chose one that was close and I ended up seeing something happeneing in the printer dialogue box. It says it's connecting to the ip address of my iMac at port 631, but it just spools endlessly and never sends the job.
Do you have any other suggestions or does anyone? There has got to be a way. I can't imagine that Apple would deny people access to a shared printer on their own home network just because the two computers were using different versions of OS X.

  • Having trouble printing from windows 8.1

not printing from elements after upgrading to 8.1

    Hi maryrfry,
“we've uninstalled and reinstalled the print drivers and still the laptop can't connect to the wireless printer”
The printer is not listed in the “Devices and Printers” or it is listed but cannot work ?
If it is not listed ,please check whether the "Turn on network discovery" has been checked (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings)?
You may need to manually add the printer from the “Devices and Printers” interface again. To do this :
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers\Add a printer \The printer that I wasn`t listed  and add it again and follow the wizard.
At the same time ,it is recommended to download the driver for the printer from the manufacturer website.
If the issue persists ,clear the printer cache to have a check :
    a. Search “Service.msc” and navigate to “Printer Spooler” service and stop it.
    b. Look for this folder "%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers" and delete all files in it.
    c. Restart “Printer Spooler” service.
    Best regards

  • Why am I having troubles printing from both the Illustrator program and the PDF I save?

I had a large Illustrator file that was made up of AutoCAD linework of an entire university campus.  The file works fine and I can do anything I please. I made a 24" x 36" artboard and scaled an area to fit nicely.  I also deleted a lot of contours and additional linework so the file size was not so large (went from about 40 mb to 6mb).
However, when I go to "save as" and select my artboard and save as a PDF. I open the PDF, which is 2.5mb in size, and it takes about 1 minute because of all the contours going in one by one. After I let it load, I print to my plotter as I do all the time in Adobe Acrobat X and it will bring up the window that says "Flattening" and gives "1%".  After 10 minutes it reches 2%. After patiently waiting 1 hour, something popped up saying Acrobat failed to complete task and needs to close.  Tried several times and it just wont print! I am Beyond frustrated. I even try rasterizing the PDF by opening it in Ps
Something I note is how my computer is working...that is how it is handling its processes via the task manager.  Both times when I try to print from Illustrator and Acrobat it never makes it because it times out. My 8GB RAM desktop computer reaches max capacity in this process and devotes 6GB RAM specifically to Acrobat or Illustrator as it tries to print.
What is the deal here?  I have "Save As"ed PDF's from Illustrator hundreds of times and sent them to our plotter from Acrobat.  Is there something going on with my Illustrator File?  I idn't think it mattered if linework was outside of the artboard when I save PDF of an artboard.  I have a lot of layers in the .Il file, but most of them are off and it is just linework, no images or effects being done.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Agree with what Scott said. It may just look like single lines but due to how CAD programs construct the visual appearance based on drawing primitives rather than "paths" as it is understood in AI, there could be an awful lot of them in the same place even in seemingly simple drawings. I'm sure you'd see the same performance issue if you attempted to manualyl flattening the file in AI... You will have to go in there and clean it up or even better, clean it up in the CAD program and export it differently from there...

  • Trouble printing from mac to windows printer

I purchased my first mac last weekend and successfully set it up on my home network which is shared with my windows xp desktop. My HP deskjet printer is shared on the network through my desktop windows pc (not on a separate printer router). My mac recognizes the printer on the network but it prints meaningless garb when I ask it to print a document. Any suggestions to rectify my printing problem???
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I followed the instructions at http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3012.html and am having the same issue. Whether setting up manually or using Bonjour, it seems that you have to select an Apple Driver. The problem is that the Windows 7 does not provide Apple drivers. Luckily, I have an old XP installation CD so I can access the printer drivers I need, but because I already installed the printer drivers from my printers CD Windows will automatically install with that driver, not giving me the "have disk" option.
So I tried to install with Bonjour again, which allowed me to pull up the drivers from teh XP installation disk, but then gave me an error that I didn't have permissions to install the selected printer.
So I deleted the Canon driver for my printer from Windows 7 and went through the process described at http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3012.html again. This time I was able to select the Apple Color Laserwriter printer from the XP installation CD, but I got an error message saying that Windows was unable to find an appropriate driver.
At this point, after a couple hours trying to do a simple file share, which should only take 30 seconds, I'm giving up being able to print to a printer connected to a mac from my Windows 7 laptop. Now I have to open files on the mac from the network file share to print.
Mixed having both Macs and Windows machines on the same network is a recipe for a headache.

  • I'm having trouble printing from my HP Photosmart Plus Model: B209a from my Mac OS X.

It's wireless and has a signal, but no matter because I've got the usb plugged in.  I've restalled many times but nothing.  Now when I go to reinstall it doesn't find any connection.  About 2 hours ago I had a test page printed, and it didn't come out until about 20 minutes ago.... so it's recognizing it... but not always I guess... has this happened with anyone else?/ Does anyone know how to fix it?

  • Trouble printing from the glass

The printer works fine when printing from the computer however when I print from the glass the printer makes loud mechanical noises and takes several minutes to print one page.  This happened once before about 6 months ago and it took a full day to find someone to help me figure it out.  Has anyone else had this problem or knows how to fix it?

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand that you're experiencing mechanical noises on your HP Officejet 5745 e-All-in-One Printer. I would be happy to assist you with this. From what you're describing, I understand that when you're performing a copy or scanning on the printer you hear mechanical noises, but when you're printing from the computer you don't. Is this correct? It sounds as though the scanner mechanism is making this noise, this will be apparent while copying and scanning, but not while printing. Please try these steps:   Step one: Reset the All-in-OneMake sure the product is on, and then disconnect the power cord from the product.Disconnect the USB cable from the product, and then disconnect it from the computer.Reconnect the USB cable to the computer, and then reconnect it securely to the product.Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, and then reconnect it to a direct wall outlet. Do not use a surge protector or power bar.Reconnect the power cord to the product.Press the Power button () to turn on the product.Step two: Make a blank copyRemove any originals from the scanner glass.Load plain white paper in the input tray.Press Start Copy Black to make a blank copy.If there is no noise there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the copy was noisy, there might be dust inside the product, poor internal connections, or the product might be damaged. See the next solution.Possible causes:Loose power cord connectionPoor internal connectionsDirt or debris inside the productDamaged or faulty scanner bulb or partsIf you completed all the preceding steps and your product still has an issue, service the product. Contacting HP for service in all countries/regions except Asia Pacific.First, go to Check your product warranty to check your printer warranty status, and then go to Contact HP Support to find an authorized service dealer or to schedule a repair.Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty printers. What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
    Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone

  • Bonjour printing from PC after upgrade to snow leopard

I recently upgraded to snow leopard. I now am unable to print from my PC laptop using the Canon printer attached to my iMac. Before the upgrade, I could. Any suggestions?

The blank page can be output if you select the vendors driver, in your case the Canon driver. Delete the printer queue and add it again, this time selecting a Postscript driver, such as a HP Color LaserJet model that has PS in its name.

  • Why can't I print from CS5? Mac and Snow Leopard

I can't print from CS5. I have a Canon Pro 9000 MKII, and all drivers are up to date. Whenever I need to print I have to close the image and reopen it in CS4. I have an iMac running Snow Leopard and can print from all other programs.
When I do try to print from CS5, I get a dialog box (see attached). If I click the "Cancel" button (the only option) the print command in the menu is grayed out until I restart CS5. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

One other thing to try is changing the name of the printer queue, which may convince Photoshop and the system that it's a different printer, so old print settings will not be used.
Open your System Preferences, select "Print & Fax", and then select your printer.
Click the "Open Print Queue..." button. When that opens, select the "Printer Setup" icon (it should be rightmost in the top row), and then change the name of the printer. and OK.

  • Trouble printing from 10.6 to shared canon on 10.5 iMac

    Hi,
I have 2 Canon printers attached to a G4 iMac running 10.5. A PIXMA Pro9000 MKII and a PIXMA ip4700. Both printers are shared and we print to them using 2 MBP's. Everything went very smooth when all the machines were on the same OS. But since we upgraded the MBPs to 10.6, neither printer will print more than 1 copy and the ip4700 constantly prints to the wrong tray.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers from Canon on all 3 machines, I've tried un-sharing and re-sharing the printers, I don't know what else to try. I know 10.6 provides updated drivers - is there a way to add these drivers to a 10.5 machine?
    Any hints are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

For more information, I looked at the print job and clicked more info on it, noticed at the bottom it says
    Job Message: /usr/libexec/cups/backend/dnssd failed.
The backend is DNS Service Discovery - aka Bonjour. The failure could be a result of the service itself or other factors. You could try running the 10.6.5 Combo updater on your MBPro - especially if you just ran Software Update to get it to 10.6.5 from 10.6.x. This can help with getting the service re-installed/repaired. You could also run a repair disk permissions via Disk Utility. This can also be helpful after a system update.
I've also noticed that the url for this printer is very different on the two machines. On mine, when i check the printer options, it says
    URL: dnssd://hp%20LaserJet%204200%20%40%20Kath's%20Computer.ipp.tcp.local.
This shows that you are connecting to the Mac share via Bonjour.
whereas if I look on her MBP (which still prints fine and is running 10.5.8) it says
    URL: pap://*/hp%20LaserJet%204200/LaserWriter
This shows that she is connecting to the share via AppleTalk, which has been discontinued as a service in OS X 10.6 and using an Apple LaserWriter driver. Sp you don't have this as an option.
I also suggest you look at printing directly to the HPLJ rather than connecting via the share. The printer should have its own IP address, unless the Pro is also connecting via AppleTalk. If it did have an IP address then you would be able to add the printer using IP > HP Jetdirect-Socket.

  • Trouble Printing from Pages v5.5.3 to Epson NX420

    I use OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on an iMac, 2.8 GHz Intel Corei5, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 with 932.44 GB free storage.
I downloaded Pages v5.5.3 and ever since I downloaded this as well as the previous version of Pages I cannot print a document.  All printing procedures appear to be fine but when the paper is ejected from the printer there is no ink on the page.  When using the previous version, I developed a workaround by copying the contents of the file, pasting them into another new file, renaming and was able to print successfully.  Now the same problem has reappeared with this latest Pages version except my workaround solution doesn't work.
My printer is an Epson Stylus NX420. I have
ensured I have adequate ink levels
determined that the cartridges are correctly inserted and seated
    deleted and added the printer
    reset the printer
determined the latest driver is installed
submitted this issue to their Support Staff to find out if the printer may be the problem
I am able to print files from other apps such as Numbers.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Is there a setting in the latest version of Pages that I need to correct?
I have tried researching this on the internet but have found no information regarding bugs with this version of Pages.
    Thank you for your help.
    Tanya

I am surprised that you have found no references to bugs in Pages 5.5.3.
Pages 5 has broken nearly every printer driver with every release.
We always recommend that you seek the latest Printer Driver from your Printer manufacturer and try again.
Do you have Pages '09 to test?
