Trouble printing Touchsmart Notes

Is there any way to set printer options in the Touchsmart software? I have been attempting to print Touchsmart notes ... I touch "print" and there are no options ... goes direct to printing in an "A4" format. I want it to print 8.5x11 letter, but I can find no way to modify the Touchsmart printer settings. In fact the ability to modify any Touchsmart settings is pretty slim. I appreciate any feedback anybody can provide.

BTW - I have a IQ526t which I just received on 1/23/09, so it has the most current software. And, I have printed other items through non-Touchsmart software just fine.

What printer do you have?
I'm not positive about this but it could be that TouchSmart is just using your default printer options (which are set in your printer settings).

This can be the result of selecting the wrong driver. An older, unsupported laser printer will sometimes work with the generic Postscript driver.

HP Envy Touchsmart 15 finger print reader not working

Hello, I've had my HP Envy touchsmart 15 for little under a month now and it's been going great until yesterday and today, the finger print reader hardware has started acting up.I log into my account fine and then when I leave my laptop for a little bit, I then return to log in and it won't let me use the finger print reader, it doesn't flash red or white, it just stops working. So I then try to log in using my password but I can't because it's saying my finger print is not recognised and keeps flicking bad and forth to that message. So basically it seems to think I'm rubbing my finger over it when i'm not even when the lights aren't flashing or anything and to solve this I have to power it off with the power button, which is not ideal at all. This is a problem, any help?

I've had this issue on and off with my laptop, as well. It has persisted through Windows 8, 8.1, and even started up again after upgrading to Windows 10 this week. I've also done the Simple Pass uninstall/reinstall thing, as well as used updated versions of such with the problem recurring. I reloaded a fresh install of Windows 8.1 earlier this year, only to have the problem persist. This week, I decided to forgo the HP software entirely and start using the Windows Hello feature that allows Windows to natively access the fingerprint reader without any other software required. Here's what I have figured out:The issue seems to be caused by the activation of a power saving profile at shuts down the fingerprint reader out of perceived conservation. Disabling this feature seems to have wholly rectified the issue.Windows 10 has installed the most recent Validity Sensors driver for the device, and it seems to work well.Here's how I fixed it, which should work for you:At the risk of shilling for Microsoft, run all the Windows Updates needed to get your PC to prompt an update to Windows 10. (The HP software seems to be at least partly to blame, and I hated the latest iteration of Simple Pass.) The Windows Hello feature should work well, as this device is supported. All instructions below assume you have installed Windows 10.Before continuing, uninstall HP Simple Pass from the control panel or through the new Windows 10 applications window (in Settings).If you have the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, right-click it and select Properties to open the System window. Then, select "Device Manager" from the upper left column of the System window. (If you don't have the icon on your desktop, type "device manager into the search/Cortana dialog on the Windows taskbar, and select the top/highlighted result.)In the Device Manager window, click on the small right-carat next to the "Biometric Devices" entry.Right-click on the Validity Sensors entry, and select Properties to bring up a device properties window.First, select the Power Management tab at the top of the dialog. Trouble shooting imac g3, printer will not load, even after a redownload OS

Certain things are not working, including the printer.
I had a power outage and recently downloaded digital camera software.
And first noticed printer is not working and the error message was,
( check printer connections)!
I had no changes there, so i tried to redownload the software.
software is there but is NOT recognized in the chooser.
Permissions are run and there is no problem.
Now I know It's time for a new imac, but for now i have to limp this one along.
When redownloading the OS from 8.6 to 10.3.9, the classic would not let me change the
extensions to mac OS all, for each upgrade?
So I 'am thinking some setting is wrong or somthing is fried?
But I desperately need my printer.
Maybe the printer is fried, has power and software is there?
Any help woud be appreciated.

What do you mean "redownloading the OS from 8.6 to 10.3.9?" Classic requires at least OS 9.1 (preferably updated to OS 9.2.2), which is independent of OS 8.6. Panther (10.3.x) is a separate installation. Were you attempting to use the Extensions Manager, to solve an extensions problem? When using a third-party printer, it's sometimes necessary to disable these (3) Apple printer extensions (Desktop Printer Spooler, Desktop PrintMonitor, and PrintMonitor) to prevent conflicts with the printer's own drivers.

Trouble installing Epson XP-610 printer - print queue not added

During set up new printer does not appear in Add Printer step. Trying to set up wirelessly and printer is on my wireless network.Current Epson printer shows up and it is wirelessly connected. HP C4795 printer will not print in firefox browser but will in IE

If it is trying to print to an XPS file, your printer isn't selected as the destination for print. You need to select you printer in the Printer - Name box. See the screenshot.

Printer will not stay on model C5500

Printer has worked great until I changed the ink cartridge. Now it will not stay on. All the trouble shooting did not work. I get error messages. I was told it is out of warranty but if it is not a software issue (cost 20.00) I could buy a new one for more than local prices. Local prices as low as $101 HP price $200. A simple answer from support that it was a service issue and not software would help. No go for the money. Any answers to my problem. I am very upset with HP. How can changing a cartridge cause the entire unit to stop working. I will print then shut off. It passes all self-test then shuts off. HELP

A user is having trouble printing. Print jobs take FOREVER when they used to speed through (despite linked images, etc)
These are just some notes from our troubleshooting:
User was trying to print out InDesign document however during the flattening phase, the computer would stall and would not print out the document.
The document does not print out using double sided or single sided.
The first time I went out, all I did was a system restore and uninstalled mcafee security plus because we're on a university network and sometimes the firewall blocks network printing, and that worked. She tried to print again later and it went back to taking 30 minutes for a print job of about 19 pages. These print jobs used to take about 5 minutes at the most to print entirely, but they queued up immediately, versus now, it takes about 5 minutes just to get to the printer.
Further troubleshooting that I did on a separate day:
Printer was printing fine in November - problem started at some point this month (December)
Printing is fine elsewhere, including in Adobe Acrobat
I was able to print one page just fine - it had no images (tried to print the same page later, took forever)
Some of the images are very large (100MB+) photoshop files (again, they were there before and it printed fine) - these images are linked (with no link errors)
She prints to a network printer, but there's no firewall on (again, printing is fine elsewhere)
She's essentially printing with the default settings, she just centers her print, instead of the default layout.
Now even printing with the default print set (not changing any print settings at all) doesn't work. Jobs take 30 minutes. I can't figure out if it's file specific or where the problem is. Since she has no custom settings, my next option is to just do an uninstall and reinstall, but I'm worried that the problem will still be there. I was starting to think that maybe the file is just so corrupted from all the force quits that that's causing the problem, but... I'm running out of solutions.
Any help?

I have only worked doing layout for one business in my past. In that job our department would sometimes experience slowdown in printing from time to time. However, we began to see extreme slowdowns over a month period. It was finally tracked down to two things. One was something about the RAID array going bonkers. The other was some of the CAT cabling going bad. It only affected large print jobs and copying large files through the network. Even so, it was not 100% of the time. Sometimes things went along smoothly.
Point is, have your IT people been invited in to experience the issue and see if anything in the network is causing at least latency issues?

Having trouble printing over a home network to a Canon S9000 from iMac

I recently bought a iMac and am having trouble printing to my Canon S9000 over my home network. If I hook up the printer to the iMac I can print to it, but the PC that is also hooked up to the network can't. If the printer is hooked up to the PC, the PC can print to it, but the iMac can not.
I downloaded the S9000 driver from Canon and installed it on the iMac. Then brought up the printer in system preferences. I found my printer OK, but I can't seem to find the S9000 driver in the list.
When the printer is hooked up to the PC and I try to print to it from the iMac this is the error I get: "Error Number : 311 Printer is in use or an error has occurred. If an error has occurred, eliminate the cause of the error."

Your problem is due to the way that Canon wrote the drivers for that printer. It can be shared to Windows machines if it is on a Windows machine, or to Macs if it is on a Mac. It can't be shared cross-platform. It is not supported by GutenPrint, so there is no CUPS system driver available; if there was, you could put it on the Windows machine and share it, and use the CUPS driver to print on your Mac.
I'm sorry, but that printer will not ever be able to be shared cross-platform unless and until Canon rewrites the drivers. I'd not recommend holding your breath while waiting.
The best solution to cross-platform printing is to get a network printer. Many vendors, including Brother, Canon, Epson, and HP, make them, some of them at fairly low (under $100) prices.

Printer will not feed paper

Printer will not feed paper. Tried print doctor scan-- unplugging and wiping rollers with lint- free cloth dipped in distilled water. Did'nt work. Printer is 5 yrs old. Is it time for a new one?? Or anything else I can try? I have HP computer-any recommendations if I buy a new inkjet? Need one that will accept card stock. Thanks in advance/

If the printer will still not feed paper, then it is probably time for a new printer.
The Photosmart family of printers is currently being switched over to the ENVY family.
The new printers are also eligible for the Instant Ink program.
There are about fourteen printers.
Eleven that you can click on to bring up the user manual.
This user manual should tell you if the printer can handle card stock.

Trouble printing a gradient in Illustrator CS3

Hi Guys,
I'm having trouble printing a gradient via color seperation on a ecrm MAKO 36 image setter...
I've uploaded a file. The top light blue border(gradient) will not print. If I take the gradient off it will seperate with no problems.
I've tried using the compatible gradient & mesh printer settings but it doesn't make any difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at the file and found strange things about it. It has two groups of object that only have one object or path in the group and in each case the object has clipping path that does absolutely nothing I would eliminate the clipping by selecting them in the layers panel and deleting using the trash can in the layers panel.
I would select all the art and in the attributes panel I would make the overprint options for both Fills and strokes set as uncheck, which is what I thin is causing the problem as there is no reason for an overprint.
