Trouble publishing

Hello-
I upgraded to Snow Leopard a couple of days ago and everything seemed to be ok. But I started doing some updates to my webpage (hosted by mobileme) and cannot get it to publish consistently.
When I finish making changes I choose File>Publish All to Mobile Me. A window pops up and it shows it transferring files. Then the little clock icon on the top of the page list on the left begins moving. All this is normal. But it takes an extraordinarily long time to update the page changes -- if it works at all. About 75% of the time I get an error message: An error occurred while trying to publish "/Web/Sites". Try Publishing again later.
I have been trying all morning. I have restarted iWeb, and the computer, on separate occasions.
Any ideas?

Is it possible you have exceeded a data transfer quota? Seems pretty unlikely this early in the month.

Trouble publishing Quicktime mov on Intel Mac

Using Flash 8, Quicktime Pro 7.1.3, System 10.4.6 on Intel
Mac 24" iMac
I clicked the "enable Flash tracks" button in Quicktime
preferences, but I still get the "missing Quicktime component"
messege when trying to publish a mov file. Restarted, re-installed,
etc., but no luck. I'm able to import SFW into Quicktime and
convert to MOV, but not export from Flash.
Another poster was having trouble with the same thing and
thought it might be an Intel Mac bug, so I'm just wondering if
someone with a similar set-up can verify that they're able to
publish MOV files.

Trouble publishing an album on MobileMe - Help requested

I have Aperture 2.1.3 and I have been trying to upload images to an MobileMe album. Every time I select the images and create a new MobileMe album, the activity window shows the publishing in progress and suddenly goes to 100%. problem is the upload is too quick and that is what gave me my suspicions.
I have tried it a number of times now and same result each time. When I click into the webpage, the album is there but without images. I have a number of albums on the site and first time I have had an issue.
Anybody throw any light on my problem? Am I missing something?

When you create a new MobileMe Album you should get an option to either load a single image or all the images. Make sure that there are images in the MobileMe Album if there is not then simply drag an image into the Album and perform a sync. Then logon to your account in MobileMe and check that the Album has been created. If none of that works delete the Album and start again. Cheers Ant..

Trouble publishing to business catalyst

Hi all.
Here´s my problem. I use Muse in 2 different locations (same account) and the site I created is perfectly updated and published from location 1 on business catalyst. Problem is, when I downloaded the muse file from CC into my second location computer, added info and tried to publish I keep getting this error message saying that an "unexpected error in Catalyst" has made it impossible to publish the site. Does anyone know what´s going on?

Are you able to open the site on Muse on different location? If yes, then when exactly are you getting this error? A screenshot of an error with the steps you took is appreciated.
Also make sure that you are logged in to Muse with the AdobeID that is merged with your BC site account where you are trying to publish.
OR simply come on chat for Muse support team to investigate this further on your behalf.

IWeb trouble publishing

I have made the change to GoDaddy as my hosting site. I have made al necessary changes and the "test connection" in iWeb in the publishing Site Settings indicated it works on the GoDaddy side. When however I hit the "publih site" button it seems to be stuck - I hit that button 20 minutes ago and have not gotten the "visit site" message. When I try to quit iWeb I do get a warning indicating it might be publishig as it reads, "quitting while you are publishing site might cause problems" but 20 minutes seems long for a site that is less than 600MB. Is there a window in iWeb that shows tha status while the site is publishing? Is there something else I need to check in iWeb - anyone else experience something like this? Thanks.

Trouble publishing iWeb

I designed a new site in iWeb, with an introductory page, and a page with several albums.
When I published it, the pages and albums listed in the tree on the left side switched from blue to red, and when viewed from the site, the album page is blank.
Is this an iWeb problem or one with Mobile Me?
I'm assuming it's iWeb, since it's in the iWeb application where the pages and albums are now red.
So what causes this?
Do I have bad links or something?
I used the Media window on the right and dragged albums from iPhoto to my album page in iWeb. Later I dragged some additional photos and videos directly from iPhoto to my albums in iWeb. I also dragged a video I created in iMovie directly into one of my iWeb albums.
Could my doing that have created my problems?
I've restarted the computer, republished my entire site several times, and deleted the plist file as suggested in this forum.
Any ideas? Why did my pages and albums turn red?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Publish the site to a folder on your desktop and run it from there to see if all the pages have been created properly. You can change the destination of the publish by clicking on the site's folder icon in iWeb on the left.

If the site is what you expected by republishing the site to MobileMe via the File->Publish Entire Site menu option and check online.
The issue with the items turning red has been with iWeb 09 for a while now. It affects some and not others it seems. I've found that even though the icons are red iWeb doesn't always republish the entire site if Publish Changes is used. It's hit or miss on that issue. Be sure to report the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html.

when i was using iphoto 6, my slide shows were published on this .mac page:

with iphoto '08 (version 7.1.2), the slide shows are published on another .mac site:

the gallery.mac site that iphoto 7.1.2 is using moves very slowly and seems to have glitches (harder to move pictures and add captions after the slideshows are published)
is there a way to go back to using the older .mac gallery i was using with iphoto 6, while still using iphoto 7.1.2 to load and organize my photos?

Your gallery opened and played very fast for me, without any hesitation. Maybe there were some server issues when you tried.
You can still use the Homepage version by building the galleries/slideshows online. Go to the .Mac page, log in, and go to the Homepage section. There you will be able to create new segments.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Help- Trouble Publishing First Website

Hi, I built and I am ready to publish my first website to the web. I have a host and an ftp account and have signed into the ftp account. I have fallowed a tutorial from tutvids.com that tells me how to publish my site and I fallowed it exactly. I am able to connect to the server from dream weaver and I am even able to see my files on my cpanel on my web server. I also have been able to connect ftp account on filezilla and I can see my files. After all of this my site is still not online and I am wondering what I am doing wrong? Am I missing something? Is there something I can check to see if I have done something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am getting an error on filezilla saying connection closed by server but before that it did connect to the server and it did have the files. I sent a support ticket to the server asking them for their help but of course they have not answered me back yet. The web address is www.centerstagesalon.net. When I got to that site it just shows the host and that I can sign in to upload the site but it should be the site. The web hosting account was created two nights ago but the domain name was purchased a couple of months ago. The domain name was purchased from a different provider but I have already pointed it to the the host and it does go to the host. The tutorial showed that when you go through the site manager on dreamweaver you put in your ftp info and test it and mine worked fine. I then fallowed the instructions to add the site files and they were added fine. Then I checked to see if it was online and it wasn't. So then I tried to get help through the host. I submitted a support ticket, which hasn't been answered. I also fallowed the instructions and configured the ftp account and dl filezilla. I was able to connect to the ftp account through filezilla aswell and saw the files on that. I then went to my file manager on cpanel for my web host and the files for my site were there under the public folder but still the site is not online. So I am confused and thinking maybe your right that something is wrong with the host. I hope they answer me soon!!

Trouble publishing - new site on new computer, want to replace old site.

I got a new a new mac with iWeb 08 - was previously using 06. Re-built website on new computer, logged in to my account and hit publish. After loading all pages etc, got message "could not publish website". Have a feeling it may have something to do with account now being MME and not dotmac....??? I want to replace the existing website with the new one but it's not working???

If you want everything that's on your current iPad onto the new one, then you can first copy all purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. You can then backup your current iPad and restore the new iPad from that backup (a list of what is included in a backup is in this article - it excludes music, videos, synced photos). As the backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their settings and content, for the restore to work completely you'll need all the relevant apps in your computer's iTunes library - otherwise the restore won't be able to install the apps and therefore their content (which is one reason to do File > Transfer Purchases, if that doesn't copy them over then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).
The restore won't copy passwords onto a different device, so you will need to re-enter your email, router, and any website passwords onto the new iPad.
Depending on what you want to remain on the iPad, you can then either leave it as it is or log out of your account on it (tap on it in Settings > Store) and then wipe it via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings.

Has anyone experienced a trouble publishing to .mac server?

As the subject says. I had this for a couple hours already! It says 'Published error. The servers are busy. Please try again in a few minutes', and I have tried several times already.

Trouble publishing to .Mac

Hi,
I decided to refresh the design of my iWeb Site, which I upload to .Mac. For this I changed the Template for all sites in iWeb and deleted some older sites that I didn't need/want anymore.
When I click "Publish" iWeb starts creating the pages, like it usually does but when it is supposed to start uploading the files I just get beachballing and a very, very unresponsive mac ( I had to hard-reset it two times because I couldn't even get enough ressources to force quit iWeb). The creating of pages goes through all the way but after that, no go.
I tried publishing to a folder and that works, even though that ended kind of abruptly, too and gave me beachballing at the end (even though all files are in the folder).
Anybody got some idea on what I can do?

Delete the file Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist.
Restart your Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions.

Publisher trouble : Published Content based portlets disabled

I've configured an environment with an instance of publisher. Later, I've created a publisher redirector, and republished all items in the publisher back office
For some obscur reasons, since this last modification, I cannot create new portlets based on the Published Content web service. I always got the message "This portlet has been deactivated. Contact your portal administrator."
I've checked the Published Content web service and it's enabled
Where is the error ? Must I configure something in another place ?
Another error, that has a probable relation with this previous error : I'm not able to do a "preview" of all my content items under the publisher back office, I always got an error saying me that or the page is unknown

The exact problem is : after importing the PTE file published_content_portlets.pte, I cannot use the newly imported portlets.
For example, when I want to create a new portlet base on the template "News" french localized, I cannot modify this new portlet : I got a popup which told me that the template is not properly configured or files are missing.
By the way, when I open the publisher explorer, I can see all the portlets I've imported but they are not published

Trouble publishing to iTunes

I created a 45-minute video in iMovie. After sharing to media browser I tried to "publish to iTunes" but it won't work. iTunes opens but nothing in iTune indicates it is doing anything and then iMovie is "not responding" so I have to force quit.

It worked after an update to iTunes. Not sure if it was the update or if I was jst more patient, but either way it solved itself.

Still having trouble publishing my animation

ive gotten some help unfortunatly the suggestion is not working... my publish button is not pressable so i go to file>publish options once im there i choose a folder on my desktop to export it to but it never shows up... (also i can only press on the "save" button doesnt give me the option to publish.. do you have to save it somewhere special? IM TRYING TO CREAT AN OAM FILE FOR ADOBE MUSE... i can save it to my desktop but then it just apears to be html.. what am i doing wrong????

Trouble publishing a Presenter screen recording

I'm hoping this screen capture (which appears when I try to publish a Presenter video recording) is familiar to someone...
The recording is pretty straightforward, just me talking over a PPT preso, with cutaways between screen, video, and split screen a la Dr. Partridge's videos on the subject.
I am running on a MacBook Air, Win7, Presenter 8.01 build 260, PPT 2010 and enough resources to run all other Adobe s/w, including Tech Comm Suite, with complex FrameMaker DITA to RoboHelp to EPUB output.
Any ideas on what might be hanging up my publishing?

Majoirity of such type of problems arise from outdated video/graphics card driver.
Please follow this checklist before recording any new video :-
Are your video card driver is up to date? Please check whether you have the latest driver from the manufacturer�s site.
Are all unnecessary applications closed?
Do you have sufficient free space on your hard disk? At least 5 GB is needed, but around 15 GB is recommended.
Are your webcam drivers up to date? It is recommended to install the webcam driver from the webcam cd or the webcam company�s site.
Are you capturing your video in a well-lit environment? Most webcams perform poorly in bad lighting.
Follow these steps to find your graphics card :
Press (windows key + R) > type dxdiag and hit enter > go to Display tab of the window.
