Trouble recording simulation & ppt at the same time

I have downloaded the trial version of Captivate4. I need to
put together a presentation for our president that has three
windows: the camera, the powerpoint and the software simulation. I
need to record it all together and publish. I absolutely cannot
figure things out. I have tried for 2 days now. Can you help me? I
had wanted us to purchase Captivate, but with so much difficulty
and my boss hearing that Camatsia is easier. I am ready to give up.
HELP!

Welcome to our community, Penny
For recording all that simultaneously Camtasia may be the
better choice. Particularly given your requirement of the camera
feed. I believe Camtasia offers an inset Camera feed as an option.
Cheers... Rick

  • Help with recording 2 tracks at the same time

    Basically I recently purchased an Audio Interface (BEHRINGER XENYX Q802 USB) and I'm having trouble recording multiple tracks at the same time while using it.
    When I set up 2 MONO tracks in my DAW (one using input 1, the other using input 2) all that happens is that I get a recording of one mic over both tracks in my DAW.
    This is probably a beginner post and I have looked it up on YouTube etc. but it just doesn't work for me... Maybe it has something to do with my Interface, but any help will be much appreciated.

    Hi Pancenter,
    Unfortunately I don't have the manual as I purchased it from a friend who failed to provide me with the Manual.
    But thank you for answering as this was what I needed to do.
    Many thanks
    Olie.

  • Can Express 9 play and record multiple instruments at the same time?

    I have logic express 9 and was told with my interface that I can play and record different instruments at the same time on Express 9. Is this true because I have spent a long time trying to figure out how.

    Hi,
    to record multiple Inputs at a time, open up the appropriate number of audio tracks. Now for each track, select the correct Input in the Channelstrip.
    Now, ARM all these tracks for recording by clicking the little red R in the track header or channelstrip. Now if you hit record, all these tracks should record simultaneously their respective inputs.
    All other existing tracks should playback while recording.

  • Recording 4 microphones at the same time to GarageBand?

    I'm wanting to record 4 microphones at the same time to Garageband on the iPad (4th Gen) for a 4-person podcast I'll be working on. I'm wondering if there's an inexpensive solution ($275 and under) to do that.
    I'd like to be able to record each mic to a different track so I can work on them in post. I'd also like to be able to attach a MIDI keyboard for stuff unrelated to the podcast itself.
    So far, I've been looking at these devices which all seem to have their own caveats:
    Alesis IO Hub (only two XLR inputs)
    Alesis IO Mix (no USB)
    Focusrite 18i8 (a little over the price I wanted to pay)
    Everything else I've looked at is either more expensive or has too few XLR inputs. If anyone out there can lend their expertise and advice to what my options are that would be great.
    Thanks much,
    Ray

    Well, you can, but it is pretty darn expensive and requires quite a bit of hardware.

  • How do I record AND monitor at the same time?

    I'm having trouble while trying to record from my XLR connected microphone. I have the mic going through a USB preamp and my speakers are outputting directly through my Power Mac. I cannot seem to be able to record at the same time I monitor. I can't playback my recordings without first changing the audio setting to Built in Audio from Mobile Preamp. I swear I could do this with Logic 7. Can't I have the monitor be going through the computer and the input going through my preamp at the same time? Thanks!
    Appi

    Logic can see two or more audio interfaces at once, but it has to be set up in the Audio midi set up program on your mac, as an aggregate device using your built in audio and your USB device. Then you can choose the aggregate device in your Logic>preferences>audio>driver. After you choose it, you should be able to access all inputs and outputs at once

  • How do i record 2 tracks at the same time.

    i use a mixer to hook my mics into garageband, what i want to do is have 2 separate tracks and have them able to record at the same time. ive made separate tracks for each mic but i can only highlight one at a time to record so i need to figure out how i can have both tracks highlighted and giving me levels. if anyone can shed some light on this for me that would be great. i get the feel like theres a simple solution to this.

  • How can i record 2 sources at the same time ?

    Hello. I am a piano tutorial guy on youtube and am always trying to improve on the quality of my vids and so i go tan HD cam to record the videos in HD (canon HV30) . I also have this little app called "midikeys" and all it does is show a piano layout on the screen and the keys i press on my keyboard , light up on the on-screen keyboard. I want to know how to record my camera and that "midikeys" onscreen piano at the same time . i have a make shift workaround to doing this but it makes things a whole lot more complicated . i basically record the cam by imp[orting the live feed, and at teh same time a have quicklime recording the "midikeys" on the screen . is there a way to do it together ? thanks

    Welcome Pianohero to the  iMovie boards..
    .. is there a way to do it together ?
    I dare to say: no way..
    the hurdle to go is that 'keys visualizer' ..
    as far as I understand, it does show 'live'.. and doesn't create quicktime movies, right?
    so, you would need a 'screengrabber' tool as SnapZ or - better, but $$ - Screenflow.
    such a screengrabber would create 'video files' of the action taking place on your monitor.
    in a second step, you have to convert these files into something usefull in iMovie.
    third step, you need an editing software which allows 'picture in picture' (=two video tracks). this an option in iMHD6 plus a plugin from geethree.com, or in iM09 or in FinalCutExpress ..
    if anyone has a less complicated workflow..

  • Need help recording three shows at the same time

    I have the FiOS DVR, and have a problem this TV season.  There are 3 shows that we watch that are on at the same time.  if we are home that night, we can record two on the DVR and watch the other in another room.  Not ideal, but we can handle it.  But if we are out, we are hosed.  I have an old series 1 Tivo that I would think I could factor in here....which I could timer record on a different TV.  Any way to do it on my regular TV?  Not sure how I could hook up the Tivo with the DVR and the rest of it.
    Thanks!

    I have a similar setup with a Replay.
    You will need to get a Verizon Digital Adapter for $3.99 per Month and an IR Blaster for your Tivo.
    Connect the Digital Adapter (DCT-700) to the FIOS Coax (May need to use a Splitter).  Connect the Composite Out cables from the DCT-700 to the Tivo.  Connect the IR Blaster from the Tivo to the front of the DCT-700.  Configure the Tivo and tell it you have FIOS Cable and Digital Adapter.  You may need to find the right codes to use to control the FIOS box from the Tivo.
    Once you get it configured you will be able to tell the Tivo to record the 3rd program and it will switch the box to the channel and record it.  If the box is near your other Verizon STBs you will need to hide it or cover the IR Sensor so that the remote for the main STB does not control the Digital Adapter.
    As an added bonus you can connect the Coax Out from the DCT-700 to your Main TV if it has PIP and now you have a 2nd input source to make PIP work.

  • JFM recording and streaming at the same time

    Hello Everyone,
    I was hoping someone could help me with using a webcam device for sending and recording at the same time.
    At this moment I'm only able to record. I tried to make another processor, and put the input of the streaming processor
    to the one that is recording, but problem is the streaming processor outputs not a streaming format. If I could stream
    with RTP I could embed a player in a website and view from there, while recording at the same time.
    Could somebody explain to me what do to here, or provide me a snippet of code, I really need this to work.
    I created this code, but this only records.

    you're going to have to provide more details on your setup, because that is how GB works.
    you'd have to purposefully mute or solo tracks in order to not hear everything playing in your project

  • Trouble connecting two computers at the same time

    I have a Macbook Pro with a 802.11g airport card. A friend has a 802.11n airport card. When I am online the 802.11n computer can't get online using the airport extreme n station. I suspect that this is because of the diference between n and g, but I cant find a way to either switch her airport card to g, or switch the station to g...any ideas?
    It is also password wpa/wpa2 personal
    thank you!

    Unfortunately that hasn't worked. The g card is working fine, but the n cant go online when the g is online. They both are recognized and accepted by the airport station, but it will only let the g online if they are both logged on at the same time.

  • Videostreaming and ppt at the same time?

    Hi,
    We're considering getting Lync. Is it possible to stream a live video (though hdmi) and show powerpoint slides at the same time in the Lync programme? In some kind of split screen?
    Br,
    Susanne

    Hi SusProdFin,
    The recommended way to share video clips in Lync 2013 is to use PowerPoint 2013 presentations. Playing video via PowerPoint in Lync 2013 has been used very successfully in many meetings.
    But if you don’t want to play the video in that way, I’m afraid you have to look for the third-party solutions.

  • Recording 2 inputs at the same time in LE8

    I am using Logic Express 8 on snow leopard and a digidesign Mbox pro 2. I am trying to record my cello through two different inputs on the box, one of them a direct line from an FX pedal im running my cello pickup into, the other an audiotechnica AT2020 microphone im recording clean cello with(combining these produces a better quality cello sound; this is what Apocalyptica does). But LE8 wont recognize whatever i plug into the second input of the mbox. I have it selected as the input device in LE8, i have phantom power turned on for the mic, and the box is registering signal from both inputs. Ive spent about 3 hours trying to get it to record from both inputs, but no dice. I also have a blue icicle XLR-to-USB converter i use when im recording stuff with just the mic, and ive tried creating an aggregate device with the mbox and the blue icicle with the mic running through the icicle, but that doesn't work either. Ive talked the issue over with a friend of mine who's a music production genius, but he's stumped as well. Im trying to record something for a song i hope to release on friday december 9th (i've got all the other tracks on the song recorded and mixed, the cello is the only thing left), so quick help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

  • How can i record 2 channels at the same time?

    I want to record a mix using my decks. I would like to record the two channels from the two decks separately (so if I fluff a mix I can have another go at it).
    How can I set this up? My mixer only has one channel output, so would I need a different mixer or is there a way I can rig it up with the Mac and GarageBand?
    iMac24   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    sorry if i wasn't clear. Yes it does have a stereo out put but my idea is to record the left deck as one track and the right deck as another. Then if I stuff a mix up I could pay back one track and record the second again.

  • Reading and recording at the same time with AudioUnit

    Hi,
    I am trying to read and record at the same time on the iPhone with AudioUnit. For the reading part I made an AUGraph which works fine, constructed like that:
    NewAUGraph(&_graph);
    _outputUnitComponentDescription.componentType = kAudioUnitType_Output;
    _outputUnitComponentDescription.componentSubType = kAudioUnitSubType_RemoteIO;
    _outputUnitComponentDescription.componentManufacturer = kAudioUnitManufacturer_Apple;
    _outputUnitComponentDescription.componentFlags = 0;
    _outputUnitComponentDescription.componentFlagsMask = 0;
    AUGraphAddNode(_graph, &_outputUnitComponentDescription, &_outputNode);
    _mixerUnitComponentDescription.componentType = kAudioUnitType_Mixer;
    _mixerUnitComponentDescription.componentSubType = kAudioUnitSubType_MultiChannelMixer;
    _mixerUnitComponentDescription.componentManufacturer = kAudioUnitManufacturer_Apple;
    _mixerUnitComponentDescription.componentFlags = 0;
    _mixerUnitComponentDescription.componentFlagsMask = 0;
    AUGraphAddNode(_graph, &_mixerUnitComponentDescription, &_mixerNode);
    AUGraphConnectNodeInput(_graph, _mixerNode, 0, _outputNode, 0);
    AUGraphOpen(_graph);
    AUGraphNodeInfo(_graph, _outputNode, NULL, &_outputUnit);
    AUGraphNodeInfo(_graph, _mixerNode, NULL, &_mixerUnit);
    _generatorUnitComponentDescription.componentType = kAudioUnitType_MusicDevice;
    _generatorUnitComponentDescription.componentSubType = kAudioUnitSubType_RemoteIO;
    _generatorUnitComponentDescription.componentManufacturer = kAudioUnitManufacturer_Apple;
    _generatorUnitComponentDescription.componentFlags = 0;
    _generatorUnitComponentDescription.componentFlagsMask = 0;
    for(int i=0; i< [_urlList count]; i++)
    SoundBuffer* soundBufferTemp = [_bufferSoundList objectAtIndex:i];
    AURenderCallbackStruct renderCallbackStruct;
    renderCallbackStruct.inputProc = MyFileRenderCallback;
    renderCallbackStruct.inputProcRefCon = soundBufferTemp;
    AudioStreamBasicDescription* inputAsbd = [soundBufferTemp getASBD];
    err = AudioUnitSetProperty(_mixerUnit,
    kAudioUnitProperty_StreamFormat,
    kAudioUnitScope_Input,
    i,
    inputAsbd,
    sizeof(AudioStreamBasicDescription));
    UInt32 zero = 0;
    err = AudioUnitSetProperty(_mixerUnit,
    kAudioOutputUnitProperty_EnableIO,
    kAudioUnitScope_Input,
    kInputBus,
    &zero,
    sizeof(zero));
    err = AUGraphSetNodeInputCallback(_graph,
    _mixerNode,
    i,
    &renderCallbackStruct);
    This works well, for the recording AudioUnit I did the following:
    OSStatus err;
    AudioComponentDescription audioComponentDescription;
    AudioComponent audioComponent;
    audioComponentDescription.componentType = kAudioUnitType_Output;
    audioComponentDescription.componentSubType = kAudioUnitSubType_RemoteIO;
    audioComponentDescription.componentManufacturer = kAudioUnitManufacturer_Apple;
    audioComponentDescription.componentFlags = 0;
    audioComponentDescription.componentFlagsMask = 0;
    audioComponent = AudioComponentFindNext(NULL, &audioComponentDescription);
    err = AudioComponentInstanceNew(audioComponent, &_audioUnit);
    UInt32 size;
    size = sizeof(AudioStreamBasicDescription);
    err = AudioUnitGetProperty(_audioUnit,
    kAudioUnitProperty_StreamFormat,
    kAudioUnitScope_Input,
    1,
    &_soundFileDataFormat,
    &size);
    _soundFileDataFormat.mSampleRate = 44100.00;
    AudioUnitSetProperty(_audioUnit,
    kAudioUnitProperty_StreamFormat,
    kAudioUnitScope_Input,
    kInputBus,
    &_soundFileDataFormat,
    size);
    AudioUnitSetProperty(_audioUnit,
    kAudioUnitProperty_StreamFormat,
    kAudioUnitScope_Output,
    kOutputBus,
    &_soundFileDataFormat,
    size);
    AURenderCallbackStruct renderCallbackStruct;
    renderCallbackStruct.inputProc = MyRecorderCallback;
    renderCallbackStruct.inputProcRefCon = self;
    UInt32 one = 1;
    UInt32 zero = 0;
    err = AudioUnitSetProperty(_audioUnit,
    kAudioOutputUnitProperty_EnableIO,
    kAudioUnitScope_Input,
    kInputBus,
    &one,
    sizeof(one));
    err = AudioUnitSetProperty(_audioUnit,
    kAudioOutputUnitProperty_EnableIO,
    kAudioUnitScope_Output,
    kOutputBus,
    &zero,
    sizeof(zero));
    err = AudioUnitSetProperty (_audioUnit,
    kAudioOutputUnitProperty_SetInputCallback,
    kAudioUnitScope_Global,
    0,
    &renderCallbackStruct,
    sizeof(AURenderCallbackStruct));
    err = AudioUnitInitialize(_audioUnit);
    Then in I setup a file to write in:
    - (void) openFile
    OSStatus err;
    err = ExtAudioFileCreateWithURL((CFURLRef) _soundFileUrl,
    kAudioFileCAFType,
    &_soundFileDataFormat,
    NULL,
    kAudioFileFlags_EraseFile,
    &_extAudioFileRef);
    err = ExtAudioFileSetProperty(_extAudioFileRef,
    kExtAudioFileProperty_ClientDataFormat,
    sizeof(AudioStreamBasicDescription),
    &_soundFileDataFormat);
    err = ExtAudioFileWriteAsync(_extAudioFileRef,
    0,
    NULL);
    All this things works well (I check by printing err in the log which I removed here for clarity).
    And then in the callback for recording I do the following:
    static OSStatus MyRecorderCallback(void *inRefCon,
    AudioUnitRenderActionFlags* inActionFlags,
    const AudioTimeStamp* inTimeStamp,
    UInt32 inBusNumber,
    UInt32 inNumFrames,
    AudioBufferList* ioData)
    OSStatus err= noErr;
    AudioUnitRecorder* auRec = (AudioUnitRecorder*) inRefCon;
    [auRec allocateAudioBufferList:1 size:inNumFrames*4];
    err = AudioUnitRender(auRec.audioUnit,
    inActionFlags,
    inTimeStamp,
    inBusNumber,
    inNumFrames,
    auRec.audioBufferList);
    err = ExtAudioFileWriteAsync(auRec.extAudioFileRef,
    inNumFrames,
    auRec.audioBufferList);
    return err;
    (Then I close the file after recording at the same time I close the AudioUnit)
    Now the strange thing is that all this works perfectly well in the simulator: I can record and play at the same time but on the device, the callback for recording is not ran (I check by trying to print something in the log in the callback function.) which men no writing in the file and an empty file in the end.
    Any one has any idea of what could be causing this?
    Thanks
    Alexandre

    Just in case some one might need it, I solved my problem:
    I simply needed to initialize the AudioSession before playing/recording. I did so with the following code:
    OSStatus err;
    AudioSessionInitialize(NULL, NULL, MyInterruptionListener, self);
    UInt32 sessionCategory = kAudioSessionCategory_PlayAndRecord;
    err = AudioSessionSetProperty (kAudioSessionProperty_AudioCategory,
    sizeof (sessionCategory),
    &sessionCategory);
    AudioSessionSetActive(TRUE);
