Trouble registering my MacBook Air 13

Hey all !
I recently purchased MacBook Air 13 (Mid 2012) from my classmate. I kinda very new to this mac. Now when I'm trying to register my mac, it is asked me for the serial number and later asking me for the date of purchase. as I dont have date of purchase or bill with me, I have asked the person who saled me this. Even he says he dont have any of the either details which are required to register this mac.
So what I'm supporsed to do now ? There is no other way to register my product with mac ?

It could be that it was automatically registered when Apple sold it to the reseller (which is what they usually do). It is best to contact Apple and provide your proof of purchase so the machine can be registered in your name.

Trouble registering my MacBook Pro

Hi everyone..I'm having a bit of a trouble registering my MacBook Pro. First, I've gone to the registration page https://register.apple.com/, and filled out all details. In finishing I got a message saying I would get an email confirming the registration. Days later, no email.
So I go to the check warranty status page https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do, and enter my MacBook's serial number. It says it is under limited warranty, which seems ok. I click on "more information", and it says the computer is NOT registered. Weird
So I click on the link on that very same page to re-register, and in finishing I get a message saying the registration cannot be processed at this time.
I have been at this routine 4 or 5 times now, and don't know why it is that I get that error...Is my computer registered? Will I have trouble asking for servicing?

AAAARRRGGGHHH! This is maddening. I went through the same endless loops that the first guy on this thread went through. Apple takes you to a page where you are supposed to be able to initiate a phone call back, but it just takes me on loops back to the same page, and I keep getting that dumb message saying they can't provide service at this time. Just what is their online service supposed to be for if it isn't to solve problems. I guess I'll have to be on the phone the next hour on-hold trying to get through to a human being at Apple. And then they will probably want to charge me just to modify my warranty information.

Problem registering my MacBook Air

Last November I received a MacBook Air as a gift. I just tried to register it in order to share iCloud items with my other devices. The system asked for a date of purchase which I do not have as this was a gift. What can I do? Help anyone?

Your Mac was automatically registered when it was purchased, gift or not.
For service and support > Check Your Service and Support Coverage page.
You will need the serial number which is on the back of the case on your MB Air in very small print.
If you can't make that print out, there are other ways to find the serial number > How to find the serial number of your Apple hardware product - Apple Support

Anyone else having trouble connecting new MacBook Air to display?

I have tried connecting my new 11" macbook air to a 24" acer monitor and a 40" Samsung television and the screen on the MBA turns blue like it's about to connect but then comes back as if it failed to. Then it keeps trying.
I'm using the mini diplay port to DVI adapter to a DVI cable into the monitor.
I have also tired the mini diplsy port adapter into a DVI to HDMI adapter to see if it worked using HDMI,
Nothing.
I called Apple and they suggested I bring it into the store.
I'm running 10.7

Trouble connecting my MacBook air to Internet in a hotel - but my iPad works fine???

Help please - aim in a hotel in Austria. I can connect to the Internet using the hotel wireless with my iPad, but my MacBook Air keeps showing a connection, but not accessing the Internet. I've tried fiddling with system preferences, and got onto the Internet once, but when I came back from a walk the connection was gone and won't come back?

I'm unsure what encryption, but I am getting a DHCP address, I can ping the gateway and have tried making a new connection.
Since I last posted, I kept trying network preference - diagnosis...... It would usually show all green against the wireless connection status, except when I turned off airport. But after about 90 minutes of fiddling, and for no logical reason I could see, the Internet connection came up.
I have just been for supper, and on re- opening the MacBook, the connection won't let me onto the Internet again, even though everything lookls ok???
Any ideas for a tyro gratefully received!

I looked this up elsewhere. The direction stated to go to the itunes store and click on store then click on register and follow the directions. Trouble is I can not find anything that says register.

The message says the site is CLOSED in many languages.
It will NEVER be open to register your computer, because that is NOT how Apple registers computers now.

Then enter the serial number of your computer to confirm that it IS already registered, and when the warranty expires.

Does anyone have trouble with their Macbook Air Trackpad freezing?

I have had trouble in the past few days with my track pad. It freezes so that I can move the cursor but it does nothing on any of the buttons. It's just dead. Then for no apparent reason, it works again. It's driving me crazy. Ideas?

The MBA trackpad is the source of a lot of wierd problems and, IMHO, is the weakest aspect of the computer and compromises its usefulness. There appear to be multiple sources of the various problems; some are in hardware, others software, and yet others situational. Personally, I hate the **** thing and would trade it in a moment for a dumb 2-button, PC trackpad that at least didn't screw up unpredictably. At least that way, I would be able to concentrate on my work and not on the trackpad.
Anyway, to your post...
Some people have found it useful to disable all options on the trackpad using the System>Preferences>Trackpad, then power down (NOT restart). After it powers up again, set only those options that you actually use (the fewer the better).
From what I've read, if this helps, the help is temporary but can at least be repeated.

I am having trouble with my MacBook Air 13 inch June 2012 MacBook Air5, 2 4GB RAM details below in Etresoft report. I recently upgraded to Yosemite and am having system trouble. My computer crashes and I have to force quit to restart. When using webmail there is a black screen for a split second between pages. This did not happen before. I am worried that it is not running properly and perhaps I need to revert to the previous operating system. I only have a MacBook Air and no need to share images between a tablet or phone so I did not need the new photo sharing software of Yosemite. I wonder if I don't have enough RAM to run it? I did not run time machine before I made the upgrade as I did not realise the significance of an upgrade as not very Mac literate. Any advice on whether my system is in danger... most appreciated! I am writing a book and making a back up but this machine is my lifeline and my work is conducted through it. It ran perfectly before... the Yosemite upgrade has perhaps highlighted some problems and it has unnerved me!

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
          DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
