  • Can not open InDesign CS5 after updating to Yosemite.

I cannot open InDesign CS5 after updating my iMac to OS X Yosemite. I received an error message that said I need to install the legacy Java SE runtime.
I searched through the topics in this Forum, and followed what was recommended.
I have installed the most current legacy Java SE 8 runtime and verified that it is on my computer,
then rebooted the computer, a 2014 iMac. I have uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign CS5.
I still receive the error message that I need to install the legacy Java SE runtime. Next steps?

CS5 is NOT supported under Yosemite. Additionally, in place operating system upgrades are nothing short of a crapshoot.
Try uninstalling, running the cleaner tool and reinstalling. If that doesn’t help a clean install of the operating system is in order.
Even then you’re on your own.

  • Anyone else having trouble with Elements after upgrading to Yosemite???

I recently upgraded my Mac to Yosemite and now my Elements 12 is not working correctly!!!!  Anyone else having this issue or have any answers?

I would suggest you trash the prefs file so that they get automatically re-built on next launch.
    Quit PSE12
Launch Finder and find the user Library by clicking the Go menu whilst holding down the Optn (alt) key (n.b. the library is hidden until you press the optn key) and inside the Library folder select the preferences folder. Then trash the following files:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings

  • Font names are invisible in Ai CS5 after upgrading to OSX 10.10 Yosemite

    Hello,
I am having a minor drawback on Adobe Illustrator CS5 after upgrading my iMac to OS X 10.10 Yosemite. The thing is when trying to select a font form a Type>Font selection mostly all font names are invisible. This only happens in Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign works fine. I have attached a screenshot of what I am  seeing: after hovering with my mouse pointer over the particular font the name appears, but otherwise not.
I will also address this issue to Apple support as well.
    Waiting for your reply.

    donelaitis,
I believe post #15 in this thread may give the solution.

  • Why does after effects cs5 not open in yosemite?

i haven't used after effects in a year...but in that time i have installed Yosemite
is this the cause of the app to not open?

it seems this information should not be that difficult to find out!
It's not difficult to find; it's on the system requirements page.
Now, I have heard of some folks getting CS5.5 (and maybe CS5) to run on Yosemite, but without further explanation from you on what sort of behavior you're experiencing, nobody could really help. For example, some folks launched AE with no difficulty, but with any effect that used an eyedropper to pick colors, it would crash. This was fixed by changing the preferences to use the system color picker. Some folks couldn't get it to run at all.
If you can't get CS5 to run and you can't go back to an earlier OS, you could always upgrade. You can still purchase CS6 from Adobe.
However, since you haven't used AE in over a year, perhaps it's more of a hobby? In which case, the upgrade pricing for the Creative Cloud might be a pretty attractive option. I like the Creative Cloud because you can get the latest version (and old versions all the way down to CS6) for a pretty low monthly fee. If you paid to upgrade every new version, the subscription model actually saves a bit of money. It's also less hassle and much easier to deal with than a huge lump-sum payment to upgrade. Plus you get all the cool cloud features too, like being able to save a project to your cloud folder and opening it on a different machine somewhere else.

use your serial number to activate.  if you cannot connect to adobe's server's to activate, Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later

  • Error message " The serial number you entered is valid, but a qualifying product annoy be found on this computer" appears. Unable to reinstall CS5.5 on my macbook pro after Hard disk crashed & was replaced.

Error msg " The serial no you entered is valid, but a qualifying product cannot be found on this computer" appears. Can't reinstall CS5.5 onto Macbook pro after Hard disc crashed & was changed.

It is not clear if you understand what that message is indicating.  It is telling you that you need to identify the older version of whatever CS5.5 upgrade you are installing to prove that you qualify for the upgrade.  This could be CS5, CS4, etc.

  • Troubling reinstalling after uninstalling iTunes

When I experienced some problems with iTunes, I uninstalled it. Now, even after I made sure I uninstalled all possible components, files, etc., I'm having trouble reinstalling it. When I go to the webpage where you download iTunes, I click on the download button fine... and every time, it instantly says "Thank you for installing iTunes." The problem is, I do not have iTunes. I can't find it anywhere on my computer. What is going on?

I am not sure exactly why this happens, you have to go to a separate site for the download and something on your PC is blocking it.
Maybe check ad block and pop up blocking?
Anyway assuming that downloading in general works, you can get iTunes from file hippo.

I have to say I have never used file hippo to download iTunes myself.
