Trouble Reinstalling FCS2

Hello All -
Due to trouble with my Motion application, I properly removed FCS2. Now I'm trying to reinstall everything, and my computer seems to be stuck on the very first install disc. The install meter gets down to 'About A Minute Remaining' and does not go any further. I've attempted to install it twice today, and both times it froze at a minute for over an hour. I've been working with this system for nearly two years and had to reinstall it on numerous occasions, but I have never experienced this problem before. Any suggestions? (Last month I upgraded to Snow Leopard)
Thanks for the help,
Isaiah Smith

I once had a different issue with FCS2 and I also had issues getting it work after. As mentioned by our other user friend here, there -are- a lot of hidden files. What I ended up doing was backing up all my important files, wiping the OS and reinstalling it, and then FCS. You should have zero problems afterwards (and a cleaner, faster hdd as a result)! Although it does suck to sit through all those install discs...

Anyone having trouble reinstalling Itunes? I removed it and then tried to download the latest version, but it won't complete the installation process. I get an error message saying, "it couldn't remove the previous version of Bonjour." I've tried mutiple times to reinstall it to no avail. I've turned off my pop up blockers. Any suggestions??

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Troubling reinstalling after uninstalling iTunes

When I experienced some problems with iTunes, I uninstalled it. Now, even after I made sure I uninstalled all possible components, files, etc., I'm having trouble reinstalling it. When I go to the webpage where you download iTunes, I click on the download button fine... and every time, it instantly says "Thank you for installing iTunes." The problem is, I do not have iTunes. I can't find it anywhere on my computer. What is going on?

I am not sure exactly why this happens, you have to go to a separate site for the download and something on your PC is blocking it.
Maybe check ad block and pop up blocking?
Anyway assuming that downloading in general works, you can get iTunes from file hippo.
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/
I have to say I have never used file hippo to download iTunes myself.

  • Trouble reinstalling Boot Camp 2.1 on Windows XP SP3

I started having problems getting BootCamp Manager to start, so this morning I decided to uninstall and attempted to reinstall without much luck.
First, I inserted my Leopard disk which has BootCamp Manager 2.0 on it, and I always get an error 2753 stating that the "installation has encountered an unexpected error".
So I pulled out my old BootCamp Manager v1.4 disk, and I get the same exact error.
Then, I went to the Apple website to download the latest version (2.1) but it throws an error at me stating that it's an upgrade and can't be installed without a prior version of BootCamp installed (which is frustrating because, as far as I understand, 2.1 is the only version that can be installed on top of SP3).
I've uninstalled AVG antivirus thinking that was the culprit but no dice.
What should my next move be? I REALLY don't want to have to reinstall Windows today. Is there a full 2.1 installation package out there that doesn't require a previous installation of BootCamp to run?
    Thanks for your input!

Which model year do you have?
    Leopard DVD version?
Boot Camp 2.1 is over a year old. It isn't required. And with Mac Pro, there is a lot you can do w/o Apple drivers. The ones you would be missing are:
OS Switcher - Boot Camp control panel startup disk
Apple Time Services - sync time between OS X and Windows
Once you have XP installed, backup though that can be slow.
    Use NTFS instead of FAT32.
Ditch XP and while Windows 7 RC is still available for download, grab the 64-bit version.
Some people are fine installing Boot Camp 2.0.x and it is only when they attempt to install or after installing 2.1 that trouble ensues.
Definitely uninstall all the Apple programs in Programs control panel; disable any services and startup items still showing from Apple - type msconfig to get there. I don't need or want MobileMe and other things that get thrown in along the way, so I always uninstall and disable those.
BC 2.1 was suppose to do something for upgrading from SP2 to SP3, but I've yet to see or hear any evidence that it did anything.
Something is wrong though and you may need to start over. In the meantime, try uninstalling, try running chkdsk, and then run system file checker from cmd.exe
    sfc /scannow
Assume you Google'd on '2753' and didn't get anywhere.

  • Trouble reinstalling CS4 using akamai downloader Windows 7 IE8

I have recently done an XP Professional upgrade to
    Windows 7 install.
I am needing to reinstall CS$ Design premium on this machine and am having trouble with the akamai downloader. Apparently it doesnt like Windows 7 with either IE8 or Firefox 3.5.
I have disabled the popup blocker and even the protected mode on IE8 without luck.
I would be content with downloading the product with a standard download but do not know how to disable the downloader.
Does anyone know who to disable it or the steps to do it?
I have made an attempt with support but they tend to ask the most frustrating questions and the time lapse makes it worse.
    Thanks!

  • Trouble reinstalling Acrobat 7.0 on Windows 7 computer

I had to reinstall due to a registry error.  I am getting the message "Warning: 20225 Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF port printer. The Adobe PDF printer may be unavailable."  I did a search for this error, but the solution was not helpful.  What's next?

I guess it is unfortunate you did not backup AA8 to other media. If you have your old XP disks, you could just backup your current system (in case you want to come back) and then install XP over what you have. Unfortunately as new computers come out with the newer systems, they often have items that take advantage of the new OS and will not work with the older systems -- but reinstalling XP might be an option, particularly if you liked it.
You indicated a problem with the printer port. What I was asking you to do was check out various parts to see if there is hope of getting AA7 to work in any way. So the steps are checking the basic AA7 program out to see if it works. The AA7 installation includes Distiller. Distiller converts PS and EPS files to PDF. If both of these work then there is hope of a work around. What likely does not work is AcroTray that simply automates the process of taking the PS file the print driver creates and sending it to Distiller in the background to create a PDF. Assuming Acrobat and Distiller work, then there is hope.
IF the driver was installed (that is why I asked about the Adobe PDF printer), then you may be able to set the printer port to FILE -- use the properties of the printer under START>Printers> and right click on the Adobe PDF printer to set the port.
If the printer driver was not installed, then use the Add Printer in the Start>Printers screen to install one of the PS printers. Once installed you can initially try it out by printing from WORD or such to that printer with print-to-file selected. Open the file that is created in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, again there is hope. To automate things a bit more, enter the properties of the PS printer you just created and change the name to Adobe PDF (that allows PDF Maker to work with the printer) and change the port to FILE (so you don't have to keep checking print to file. If you have problems with some of this, maybe you can get a friend to help.
The alternatives are to purchase a new version of AA XI (you can not upgrade from AA7) or look into one of the 3rd party PDF creation tools. Directing you to specific 3rd party products is not appropriate on this forum.

  • Troubles reinstalling Mountain Lion

I installed a new hard drive in my mac and want to do a fresh install.  I did the firmware upgrade for internet recovery to my mid-2010 macbook pro and am trying to use internet recovery to reinstall mountain lion.  It says that my apple ID has not purchased Lion, which I know for a fact I purchased Lion and Mountain Lion.  I called apple support on the phone and the guy was super unhelpful and told me to go in store.  Soonest genius appoinment is not for a few days and I need my computer ASAP.  I would use the 10.6 disc that came with my computer but it will not boot to that either (by using "c" or "option").
    So two options:
    1) How can I make the 10.6 disc work? (cleaned it, tried to zap the PRAM and reset the SMC)
    2) How can I repurchase Lion/Mountain Lion without a second mac?
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

I have about the same problem: I bought Mountain Lion and when I try to install on my new ssd drive on macbook pro i7 early 2011 it says that I dont have Lion. I have made a bootable USB memorystick with Mountain Lion but when I start the installation from it, I can't see my ssd in the window of hard drive install location. Only the USB drive is visible.
If I start network installation, I don't have a Mountain Lion option, only Lion. In Lion installer my ssd is visible but I can't complete the installation because of the bug with the Apple ID wich block me. I don't understand why do I have to have Lion if I already bought Mountain Lion.
The ssd is corectly formated. I even try to make GUI partiton but all in vain.
Please help us with this problem.
    Thank you

  • Having trouble reinstalling Mac OS X

    Hi everyone,
First I think I have to say I'm not very clever when it comes to Mac's operating system. Altough I always try my best.
With that said, here I go:
I have an old white macbook. I am sorry I don't know the model. I only know it's quite old (probably 2007?).
At the beggining of the year I started having problems with the fan, but apart from that everything was ok. A few months ago when I turned on my computer it shutted down a couple of minutes after I turned it on. I did turn it on again and the same thing happened over and over again. Sometimes it would stay on for longer but it wouldn't let me open anything.
ANYWAY, I got a new MacBook Pro and I love it. But I don't wanna chuck away my old white one. A few days ago I decided to restore it (?). I don't know, I followed some instructions I found on this website. Everything went well. The next step is to reinstall Mac OS X. When I turn on my computer a window with a few options ( I think it's 4 options) pops up, if I'm not mistaken the first option has something to do with the Time Machine, the second one is to reinstall Mac OS X, the third one is to use Safari for help, and the last one is Disk Utility. Anyway, I click on the second one, I then click continue and a little window pops up saying that Apple has to verify if my macbook is eligible for the reinstall. I click continue and this step takes AGES. I mean, I've been in front of the computer for HOURS (I know... how miserable!). But aparently apple never 'finishes verifying' my macbook's eligibility.
I've checked my WiFi connection and is working well.
Is there something I can do?
    Please HELP!!!
    Thanks for reading.

That's true of Lion or later, but not of Snow Leopard or earlier. A 2007 machine came with Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard but not Lion.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
