Trouble reinstalling photoshop cs3

Recently, cs3 has stopped working for me. One day I tried to open it and it wouldn't respond. I tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it and it didn't work - it says failed to install Adobe Photoshop CS3. All the shared components reinstall, but CS3 doesn't.
I downloaded the trial version of CS4 to see if that would work, but again it told me that Adobe Photoshop CS4 has failed to install. And again, all the shared components managed to install.
Can anybody tell me how to fix this?

I downloaded Photoshop CC but I start experiencing trouble, so un-istalled Creative Cloud and Photoshop CC. I then reinstalled Creative Cloud but I am not having trouble reinstalled Photoshop CC. Nothing seems to be working, it just shows me that Photoshop is up to date and ready to use and its not installed on my computer anywhere.

  • Cannot reinstall photoshop cs3 extended on vista

I bought Photoshop PS3 Extended 4/26/07 and have been running it on a Vista PC.  I tried to launch it in 4/2011, but it said something about the license not working and to uninstall and re-install.
I uninstalled and have been trying ever since to reinstall.  I do install with “Run as Administrator”.
For 8 weeks, I battled with this error from the Event Viewer: Product: Adobe Fonts All -- Error 1907.Could not register font . Verify that you have sufficient permissions to install fonts, and that the system supports this font.
I run the uninstall program after each try, as PS comes up in my program list, but fails to install shared components and the PS3 program.
After trying all the advice from Adobe & Vista support sites (including Adobe's Doc IDs KB401401, KB401488, KB401501, KB402151), I thought it was AGaramondPro-Italic.otf, but no matter how I tried (copying it from my Encore, downloading a new copy, deleting it all together) it wouldn't work.  All those support sites said to contact Adobe, but Adobe no longer supports CS3.  Finally I installed the trial of Photoshop CS5 and it took care of the font problem.
However, it STILL won't re-install.  Event Viewer no longer shows any errors, but when I check the Information messages and the photoshop log files, I see that about 1/3 of the components are not installing, but say: "Result: 1610, Text: The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel."
    Another part of the installation log is: ADOBE_SETUP=1 MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=Disable  PROPERTY_FILE="C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp\adbD68C.tmp" REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=poms 1: 0 2: 0 3: 1252 1: 0 2: 0 3: 0 1: PDF Settings This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator.
Again, I have tried the adobe clean up script, searching the registry (though I haven't found any help for registry keys specific to CS3 Extended), installed from my hard drive, tried with UAC on and off (mostly off!), have virus scan turned off, etc.
I've spent countless hours on this and am so frustrated that I can't put my installation disc in and have it just install.

Well, reads/copies of data from CDs sometimes do get errors.
I wrote a small command line tool a long while ago that will read every file in every folder under a given starting point and calculate a CRC value.  I sometimes use this to check to see if everything is has been copied properly from a CD to a hard drive.
I have a download of Photoshop CS3 that I just ran the tool on, starting with the folder containing the Setup.exe for Photoshop.

  • Trouble installing Photoshop CS3

I've just recently had a clean install on my Apple iMac. I'm now re-installing all the software that I need. I'm having a problem installing Photoshop CS3. I have the folder, the serial number, and its on the list of products registered with Adobe. How do I install?

If your lucky, using the photoshop cs3 unistaller in the Applications>Utilites>Adobe Installers>Add or Remove Adobe Photoshop CS3
    might work for unistalling cs3.
Then doing a fresh install from the dvd or downloader installer might work.
If not, then you'll have to download and run the CC Cleaner Tool
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
Then search around on your hard drive (check especially hard  drive>library>application support adobe, as well as Applications)
and remove all the bits you can find, then reinstall from your original  installation media.
Do you have any later versions of photoshop like cs4 already installed?

  • How to reinstall Photoshop CS3 with external hard drive?

I have C3 Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. on my iMac. Is there a way to put it on my external drive and put in back on my iMac? (This is if I have to reinstall the OS.) Would it ask for a serial number again?
Also, is there a way to verify the serial number of the program? I have a number written but I'm not sure if that's it.
    Thank you!

An Archive and Install should preserve third party software, but I've heard Adobe can be tricky.
As for putting it on an external and then moving it back, Adobe CS is known to be very fussy about getting moved. It might think you are trying to install it on another computer and prevent you from moving it to the external and then back. But anyway, since it has files all over the place, I don't think it's as simple as moving the application over. You will probably need to do a clone -- a clone will bring everything over -- which might get around the license issue, and then reverse clone from the external back to the Mac. But on the CCC Forum, I have read that some people have had problems cloning Adobe, not sure which version though.
If you have the CS3 Install Disc, then you might just want to de-activate it first and then reinstall once you've done the system reinstall.
One excellent cloning program is Carbon Copy Cloner
    http://www.bombich.com/
And, if needed (according to this, you are allowed to install it on two computers, so maybe it isn't necessary to deactivate it first. Then, again by deactivating, you would preserve the option to install it on another computer):

  • Trying to reinstall Photoshop CS3 after removing trial version of PS CS4

    Hi,
I'm on an HP laptop - Win XP Home Edition - 1 gb RAM, plenty of space.
So, after major, continuous crashing in Photoshop CS3, I decided to see if CS4 would work ok. It was nice, but I let the trial expire and decided to continue to see if 3 would get in gear.
I removed the trial software (i thought)
Today, I uninstalled CS3, so I could reinstall the whole thing rather than repairing it. It won't reinstall because the CS4 files have been moved.
is there some way to completely wipe out all reference to 4?
    thanks in advance!
    dana

ok - well, I found the informationin KB 401401 to be the most helpful - after wiping out the entire suite of CS3 -  finally got it to reinstall (after the second time)...
NOW, back to my ORIGINAL issue - Photoshop CS3 crashes every time I open a second photo... So... there's that again. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thank yOU!!

  • Trouble saving Photoshop CS3 files to server

I've recently upgraded to Leopard v. 10.5.2, and now I'm having trouble saving any sort of file through Photoshop CS3 to my company's server. Even after opening the file from the server, when I try to save it, I get an error message saying I do not have the privileges to save the file. And I've saved the file to my desktop, and tried dragging it to the server folder, and I get a slightly different message, but with the same problem.
I can save jpegs that weren't created with Photoshop, but not vice versa. My other CS3 programs save files like normal. It's just Photoshop.
One way I've found to get around the problem is to email the file to myself, and then transfer them to the server. But this is an annoyance. Thanks for any help.

I would like to know how Adobe can make their uses download the OS X 10.5.3 update without sorting out the photoshop bug. Why should we not be able to save our files directly onto reliable servers. You would think that by now the concept of saving a file to a network disk would have been solved. Saving directly on servers worked flawlessly for me - why not now? I have never had this problem before until this OS X 10.5.3 update. This is appalling as designers save their photoshop files onto a server so that other designers may access their files. Yeah I will now work locally and transfer the files across. Last night I realised that I could not open many files that I had worked on during the weekend - I have lost hours of work and am feeling pretty devastated. How can Adobe not even warn their customers about this problem!!!! Don't fob your customers off. This is HUGE BUG - I've paid for my software so fix it!
I wonder how many designers have this problem and don't even know. Abode should be letting their customers know about this BUG before they have to find out themselves after having lost irreplaceable work.

  • Help!!! Can't reinstall Photoshop CS3

Soundbooth beta has caused some conflicts with my Photoshop CS3 (I am assuming that is what is causing my photoshop wierdness) causing me to have to reinstall Photoshop. When I attempted to do so, I got a message to insert Soundbooth CS4. I uninstalled Soundbooth. So I thought. But every time I try to reinstall Photoshop, I am asked to insert Soundbooth CS4.
HELP. I desperately need to reinstall Photoshop and naturally Adobe is closed until Monday.
Note: I am on a Mac 10.5.4, 9 Gg RAM if that helps.

    We need more information.
    How to get help.

  • Can't reinstall Photoshop CS3 extended after new hard drive

The software appears to install on my windows vista op.sys machine BUT when I try to start photoshop CS3 it just hangs..tried to re-install several times but still same ...Please help

Moving this discussion to the Photoshop General Discussion forum as Users in this forum may have additional suggestions on how to resolve difficulties with opening Photoshop.
Blobbyblobs I would recommend checking your installation log files to see if you received any error messages.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.
Also did you copy over or migrate the files from your old hard drive or is this a clean installation?

  • Trouble updating Photoshop CS3 & Elements 6

I am running Windows XP. I have Photoshop Elements 6 and Photoshop CS3 newly installed. When I try to run, from either program, "Help, Updates..." everything seems to be okay at first but before the update installation is complete I get a window titled "Installation Incomplete" and the instructions in the window direct me to "shutdown the following application: PhotoshopElementsFileAgent.exe" When I go to TaskManager I can't find that program listed in either the Processes tab or Applications tab.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Never mind, I did some more searching and found the info I need. Thanks!!

Thank you, Barb, for trying to give me the procedure for a fix. But, this one is not it. That link does not apply to Error Code: U44M1I210. It is a different error code. In the hopes that the one you refered to might also fix my problem, I followed the directions and found that the properties of the InstallLocation were already correct.
So, I'm still looking for a fix. BTW, I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, on an HP quad-core desktop. My HP laptop updated just fine--both Photoshop and Premier Elements, which leads me to think it is something with this machine. A search on Adobe Community for Error Code: U44M1I210 turned up nothing relevant.

  • Trouble with Photoshop CS3 FullScreen Mode and Win7x64

everything was OK while i was using WinXP and later Vista... But now i have to use Win7 and i have a problem.
then i switch to "full screen mode" (doesn't matter how: by pressing f key or by menu command) i have windows 7 task bar still visible and window border on right side of screen (it's photoshop window border --  if drag it, photoshop window will resize)
Does anybody got same trouble? Is it problem with win7 or CS3? Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks. It works somehow... :))
First, i switch to "simple style" --  and OOPS -- full screen mode in photoshop works asshould
Second, i switch to "classic style" -- full screen still working...
...and Third --  i switch back to "Aero" -- full screen still working!
So, the only question remains - wtf it was?....
    Thanks...

  • Problems reinstalling Photoshop CS3

    /message/1923469#1923469Hello,
I used system repair because PS had a problem (crashed after file open) and reinstalling didn't help.
This time I get an error starting PS CS3.
The error message is: The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support.
If I want to reinstall from the cd, its starts fine, but doens't do anything.
If I start the setup from the cd, it does nothing.
I tried windows - software - remove/reinstall, but also nothing happens.
What can I do now? Is there a tool to remove PS? Please help

    Staples64 wrote:
But when I use File - open,  I see the window (to select a picture) very briefly and then PS hangs. Clicking on Photoshop isn't possible.
This means a dialog box is off screen.
Press Escape to get out of it.
If the problem recurs try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

  • Can't Reinstall Photoshop CS3

I am on Leopard 10.5.2. I had the Photoshop PS3 trial edition, which expired. Then I got the full CS3 Web Premium, and when I installed it said Photoshop was already installed. But when I went to license it, it said the license code was invalid. So I trashed the Photoshop folder from /Applications, emptied the trash and restarted the installer to try reinstalling it from the DVD.
But now I realize there is an *uninstaller* that I apparently should have used.
I am stuck right now in a situation where the installer says Photoshop is already installed, so I can't reinstall it, but since I trashed it, it won't let me uninstall it either.
    Anybody have any suggestions? Sigh.

I had a user do this here a the College I work at, this is what you need to do:
Go back to Adobe's website and Download the trial version, once you do this you will see in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Add or Remove Adobe....
Run the Add or Remove program for the trial version, once you have done this you can then go ahead and install your licensed version and register it.

  • Reinstalling photoshop CS3 after losing previous installation

    Hi all,
After losing all data in my E: disk (made a new partition and didn't think) I lost all programm files of adobe PS CS3. Now I found the original installation disk and tried to reinstall, doesn't work! uninstalling neither. Deactivating neither (because can't start any CS3 application offcourse).
Can anyone tell me a trick to reinstall my legal copy of photoshop CS2?
    Thanks
    Hugo

    Hi,
yes, it starts the autorun when i insert the disc, but stops after initializing. i ran setup.exe too, but after initializing, it just doesn't continue, it just stops working.
Next week my co worker will reinstall windows, think that should do the trick.
    thanks for your time!
