Trouble saving files in resource hacker...again

On my windows 7  pc, I edited the main.cpl file. I put the edited file in ot the system 32 folder, and when I checked back, it's like windows restored the original file and like I didn't edit it at all. But, when I drag it back to my desktop it shows
that I did edit the file. I can't seem to save the file without windows replacing the edited file.

  • Trouble saving files in Illustrator

Only recently I'm having trouble saving files in AI. It will take forever or just crash while saving especially when saving as a .pdf. Has anybody ran into this? I'm wondering if it's a recent thing all around or just me. I've been using this for almost a year now and have no worries until now. Please help!

    things to check for:
    Check disk for errors
    Do a defrag
    Check you fonts for corruption
Check your preference file for curruption (easiest to just replace it)
Check for enough drive space for the file itself plus the virual drive space need for your OS.
think if any other programs are showing signs of file errors.
As a last resort try reinstalling illustrator.

  • Trouble saving system files using resource hacker.

I have a Windows 7 pc. I recently installed a new program called resource hacker which allows you to modify system files. I also on my computer have a Windows XP VHD which I also installed the program. I first tried editing the explorer.exe file on windows
    7. The few first times I was able to use system restore to restore my computer back to an earlier date. I edited the explorer.exe file on Windows XP also. On Windows 7 once it was edited, I followed the instructions on how to save it. When I saved it I has
to restart my computer. Once I did that, the desktop color came on and the icons and start menu and taskbar were gone as if there were no explorer.exe file at all. This time when I did it I went to system restore in the system recovery options before
I got to the log on screen. It said that there were no restore points available. I also tried putting the original files in the windows folder through task manager, but that didn't work either. when I restarted I got the same screen as I did before. I managed
to save it on Windows XP. In Windows XP I just had to go and end the explorer.exe file in task manager. I did that and I got the desired result that I edited it for. On Windows 7 I followed the instructions of how to save it, but it just won't work. I followed
the instructions just as they said but I get the same result every time. On the website that it tells you how to save it, but what I don't understand is that how they did it so easily on Windows 7, but when you try to save it on your own computer you
run into that same problem that I am running into. What I don't get is that how it works on Windows XP, but I can't get it to work on Windows 7. I hope that help clarify the issue that I am having with my computer and the program.

Yes, I suspect there're some corrupted or missing system files, please press win+R, launch "Run" dialog box, type "cmd" or command prompt in recovery console tool (you should login in as a admin), then type the following command
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
check if it can help you fix the incorrect files.
Regarding to the the missing restore point, please take a look in this link:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/win7/archive/2011/02/16/restore-points-lost-after-system-rebooting.aspx
Please also check the event viewer, run "eventewr" in command prompt, it will launch the event viewer interface

  • Trouble saving files in CS4?

When trying to save a .psd file today after working on an image I got a message saying - Could not save as "_IJD3271.psd" because of disk error. Has anyone any idea what might be causing this to appear and even better how to remedy it. This has just started today as I was working recently on images and saving them without any problems whatsoever.
    Thanks,
    Ian

    Could your hardware be faulty?
Do you work aross a network or locally?
    Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

  • Trouble saving files

Any theories about why Keynote won't let me save a file? Version 3.0.1

Start looking for the slide(s) that are causing the problem.
Delete half your slides and attempt a "Save As..." (so you can give the file a different name and not overwrite the original). If it saves, the problem slide(s) is (are) among those deleted. Concentrate on those by again deleting half the suspects and do it again... and again...

  • Trouble saving files in Audition 3.0

Starting today, I can't save any file I have in edit mode as an mp3.  All the options I have have an asterisk
next to it, which I never noticed before, and my option mp3 read MP3PRO (FhG) (*mp3.)  What does this mean
and how can I resolve this issue?
    Ken

I don't know if you have made a typo but "MP3PRO (FhG) (*mp3.)" should read "MP3PRO (FhG) (*.mp3) with the dot between * and mp3. When you say that you can't save your file is it just the .mp3 format that is giving you problems?
It has been known for the file suffix to become corrupted if someone has mistakenly typed the incorrect suffix into a file name. To make Audition save .mp3 files with the correct suffix do a Save As and fully type in the correct suffix rather than letting Audition add it itself. Ie. if "filename" is what you want to call your saved .mp3 type "filename.mp3" into the filename box. Audition should then save future .mp3s OK.

  • Trouble saving files as jpg or eps in CS3

I recently moved from OSX 10.4 to OSX 10.6 (new computer) and seem to have lost the ability to save photoshop files (CS3)  in eps or jpg format. I can "save to web", which will save small jpgs, but once was able to save jpgs of any size in the "save as" drop down menu. Now I don't have an option there for jpg or eps files. How can I get back the ability to save my files in those formats?

Just to make sure, those files are 8bit and RGB or CMYK (Edit: or grayscale)?

  • Is anyone else having trouble saving files?

    Im on a macbookpro.
When i try to save a tiff it labels raw, a jpeg becomes  a dcm at first 1 thought the dcm was an odd error so i tried to emial the image to a friend but it was unreadable defiantly not a jpeg.

When is sunlight, absolutely. Not a problem with the Droid Ultra but rather all phones.
You ever see the commercial about the Nook devices. The have a special screen to reduce glare allowing you to see your screen in sunlight.
As far as I know, companies have not implemented this on anycell phone.
There are after market anti-glare screen protectors
Check Amazon or eBay, they should be relatively inexpensive.
    Good Luck

  • Photoshop is Crashing when saving files

Hello, I have been having some trouble saving files.  Sometimes, and usually with the first file, Photoshop will crash when I try and save a file.  It also happens when I try and open a file into photoshop.  Most specifically, when I try and open my watermark file (png).  I have deleted the preferences, and am working on a freshly installed version of Windows 7.  Here is the crash report I was able to retrieve.  I am usually not able to retreive this info, because in most cases, Photoshop just completely dissapears instantly.

    StackHash implies memory corruption.
By and large, during software development, the number 1 reason I've isolated for that is problems in display drivers.  That's not to say it's the only reason memory could be corrupted, but it's more common than most people would think.
What video card do you have, and what version of display driver?
Does the problem persist if you disable OpenGL Drawing in Edit - Preferences - Performance (then restart Photoshop)?

  • Having trouble saving tiff files to server

    Hi all,
I'm having trouble saving tiff files to our server (a mac pro running OSX 10.5.7 client not server). I get the error message 'could not save "filename" because write access was not granted. The disk in question is set to ignore permissions and the other 3 Macs on the network have no problems.
Bizarrely this only seems to happen when saving as a Tiff file, I can save as JPEG without issue! The file will usually save after a few attempts, sometimes six or seven save as' are needed.
This problem comes and goes, but at the moment its pretty bad.
This is becomming very frustrating as Tiff is our prefered format and we work as a team so have to save to the server.
    Any ideas?

Just to expand on Buko's correct ansswer, this is the boilerplate text I use in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.
    See:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/322391.html
Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • Trouble saving a pdf from In Design with Illustrator files linked.

I have trouble saving a pdf from In Design. Most of the files i've linked are Illustrator files with size up to 70mb.
I am getting out of memory message   The In Design file isn't that big - about 9mb.
    HELP!!!!!!

It did not help to close and reopen it.
Not sure what you mean with exporting in chunks but if you mean exporting page for page , so it didn't work either.
I think that i'll try to reduce the size of Illustrator files , but I 'm not sure what will be the optimum size for that In Design won't crush again.
Or maybe i should make the presentation in illustrator instead? It take some time to save pdf from illustrator when the original file is about 90mb, but still it works.

  • I'm having trouble saving my file in adobe acrobat pro 9

I'm having trouble saving my file in adobe acrobat pro 9.  When I attempt to save I get message saying,"Bad File Handle".  There are several pictures on this file I'm trying to save...dont know if that has anything to do with the problem, just thought it would be helpful information.  Would really appreciate any insight anyone has to offer.
    Thanks in advance

I am having a similar problem with a simple pdf form.  I have made several changes to the pdf and when I go to save, I get the message that I can't save the file due to a "bad file handle."  I have opened, altered, saved, and closed the form several times before, just not now.  No one else was working on the form.  The file format is still a pdf and nothing has changed.

  • Trouble saving Photoshop CS3 files to server

I've recently upgraded to Leopard v. 10.5.2, and now I'm having trouble saving any sort of file through Photoshop CS3 to my company's server. Even after opening the file from the server, when I try to save it, I get an error message saying I do not have the privileges to save the file. And I've saved the file to my desktop, and tried dragging it to the server folder, and I get a slightly different message, but with the same problem.
I can save jpegs that weren't created with Photoshop, but not vice versa. My other CS3 programs save files like normal. It's just Photoshop.
One way I've found to get around the problem is to email the file to myself, and then transfer them to the server. But this is an annoyance. Thanks for any help.

I would like to know how Adobe can make their uses download the OS X 10.5.3 update without sorting out the photoshop bug. Why should we not be able to save our files directly onto reliable servers. You would think that by now the concept of saving a file to a network disk would have been solved. Saving directly on servers worked flawlessly for me - why not now? I have never had this problem before until this OS X 10.5.3 update. This is appalling as designers save their photoshop files onto a server so that other designers may access their files. Yeah I will now work locally and transfer the files across. Last night I realised that I could not open many files that I had worked on during the weekend - I have lost hours of work and am feeling pretty devastated. How can Adobe not even warn their customers about this problem!!!! Don't fob your customers off. This is HUGE BUG - I've paid for my software so fix it!
I wonder how many designers have this problem and don't even know. Abode should be letting their customers know about this BUG before they have to find out themselves after having lost irreplaceable work.
