Trouble Sending Audio Out of Logic

Hello,
I'm having trouble sending audio out of Logic through outputs other than to my monitors. I am trying to reamp a guitar sound and send vocals to a reel to reel using a MOTU ultralite. Also, even though the audio tracks are mono, it only allows the output to be through stereo pairs. Thanks!

Ok I figure out how to set my outputs to mono but I tried using one of the monitor outs to send audio out and it won't work, I can't even listen on headphones. When I plug my monitor back in, however, it works fine. What isn't working?

  • Routing audio out of logic

I have just purchased a Korg Monotron and am trying to send sound out from Logic into the Monotron, and then filter the audio in the Monotron and record this back into Logic, however I have a problem.
The audio I want to send out of Logic is routed to the only 2 outputs '1 & 2' on my Edirol UA-25 interface.
I take a mono output from one of these outputs on the rear of the interface, and feed this into the Monotron headphone socket.
The issue is that when the sound is fed back into Logic, I can't hear the filtering effects because it is drowned out by the audio track I am sending out.
How can I mute the sound of the outputted audio so that I can only hear the subtleties of the filtering effect in Logic.
Can anyone explain a workaround for this.
I have tried to set up an aggregate device (can I record audio from my iMac instead?) and use the I/O plug in but with no success- any suggestions welcome!
    Cheers,
    Mr Rock

Sorry- that was a typo- I take the output from Logic into the aux-in of the Monotron and then feed the output from the headhone out of the Monotron.
The issue is I cannot just hear the subtlety of the filtered Monotron signal back in Logic as the Logic output is playing at the same time.
    Any solutions appreciated!

I have an iPhone 5 model and I can't seem to send audio messages, how do I enable the microphone? Do I have to upgrade to the iPhone 5S to use this new feature? I have iOS 8 installed but can't seem to figure it out. I get the send button instead of the microphone.

We have both done the reset and still nothing but not the iTunes bit
Will everything get removed from my phone ? Iv backed it up so I'm assuming I won't lose all my fings ?
Iv never had any trouble with my iPhone nor as he until this and it's only our phones to each other we can still revive iMessages and normal SMS from everyone eles it's very strange
    Thank you for your help

  • Trouble with audio out

i just plugged in a 3,5 headphones into the macbook. everything worked fine. after i unplugged headphones, the internal speakers didn't came back. the port is now red illuminated and system preferences show "digital out". there is no chance to switch back to "internal speakers".
restart didn't help. any other reset possibility or does it look like a hardware error?
    best,
    andi

nothing helped. i did pmu and pram reset, installed a clean version os osx. nothing helped. after restart or opening the lid the jack is again red illuminated (i suppose it is laser for the digital out) and internal speakers are dead. i guess that the macbook thinks that there is a digital cable which of course is not.
i guess it is a firmware related problem, cause when i am booting i can hear the start-up sound thru internal speakers and when os x is loaded, the speakers are dead.
    any more ideas?

  • HT5517 is it possible to send audio out to remote airplay speakers at the same time using Atv wired(optical) speakers?

i like to listen to music in the living room and bedroom simultainiously from my home theater and a set of airtunes connected speakers using a mac mini.
Is this possible with an Apple TV/home theater/APxpress setup?
airport does show in Atv as a speaker option

    Hi,
I'm a owner of the X-fi Elite Pro, and for me the headphone + speakers settings works very well. Just to be sure, you bought the X-Fi XtremeGamer Falalty Pro Series? and not the XtremeGamer Fatalty Champ Series or even the old regular X-Fi Fatalty? If so, I'm quite sure you need the I/O box with the 6.35 mm (/4 inch) steroe jack. My headphones are connected through the /4 inch jack on the Elite Pro unit and my 5. surround system through the X-Fi card's 3x /8? mini jack.
I guess you have to buy the X-Fi I/O Dri've Upgrade Kit (or the Console Upgrade Kit) to use your headphones and speakes at he same time. I chose the Console because i couldn't li've with a thick and ugly digital cable sticking out in the front of my PC?
    Hope it helped!

  • Routing sound out of logic

I have just purchased a Korg Monotron and am very pleased with it!
I am trying to send sound out from Logic into the Monotron, and then filter the audio in the Monotron and record this back into Logic, however I have a problem.

Can anyone explain a workaround for this, or is there no solution as the audio always need to be audible to in order leave Logic, or else no sound would be sent.
    Any advice welcome!

    Hi Dat Stream Studio,
    This sounds very promising!
Can you please confirm when in 'Audio Midi Setup', do I go to 'Audio Devices'.
If I select 'Audio Devices' then I have two setting- 'Default Output' and 'System Outputs'.
At present both are set to 'Edirol'.
Can you please suggest which ones I need to configure as 'Mac Internal'.
When this has been set up is all sound outputted through 'Mac internal' audio, and do I connect a lead from the iMac headphone socket into the Monotron?
To get sound back into Logic, should I connect the Monotron into say Input 1 on the Edirol, and then set up an audio track with the 'I/O' plug in set to audio 'Input 1 (and leave the 'output' blank)?
I look forward to your response.
    Cheers,
    Mr Rock

  • Audio out via USB plays briefly , then shuts off

    Hi,
I'm running version 10.4.11 on my iMac. I'm sending audio out via usb to an audio device (dac), the audio will play for a while and then just quit. This happens using iTunes or another music player I have on the iMac. This problem is recent, I have been doing this for about a year with no previous problems. Could an OS X update have caused a problem with the usb audio output? Anyone else experiencing this issue? It's become quite aggravating.
    Thanks!

    Yes.

just  the audio, eh?. If you were using DVI or DisplayPort that might be different, but for audio alone, it shouldn't be that hard.  Just grab a 3.5 mm stereo plug to 2 rca cables adapter. Plug the smaller end into the back of your Mac Pro (or the Front), where you see either the headphone or speaker icon). Alt-click on the speaker icon at the top of your screen to show all audio inputs and outputs. Make sure it's set to Line Out.  Plug the red and white end into the audio in jacks on the back of your tv and set it to the correct input. I don't know if your tv will allow just the audio to play. Usually one has to connect up something else, but hopefully I'm wrong.  If you were using DVI, or DisplayPort, you'd need an active DVI--HDMI adapter or a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, but
    I don't know for sure

  • Sending audio from logic to external hardware effects, and back into Logic

    Hi,
I am currently trying to send audio from Logic to external hardware effects and then record this back into Logic.
My audio interface is a Edirol UA-25 which has only two outputs '1 and 2'.
I understand that I could create an 'aggregate device' which would create two more ins + outs being '3 & 4'.
I also understand that would need to use the Logic I/O plug in configuring this routing.
When treating the audio via the external hardware I particularly only want to hear the audio being processed and not the original 'uneffected' signal.
Can someone please explain if I am able to do all of this with just the UA-25, and if so, then how.
    Cheers,
    Mr Rock

You connect output 1 of your interface to your active speaker.
You connect output 2 of your interface to the input of your external effect.
You connect the output of your external effect to input 2 of your interface.
You route your track in Logic to output 2.
    You create a new track.
You route this new track to output 1 and output 1 only.
You choose input 2 as the source for this track.
    You arm the track.
    You hit Record.
You hit Stop some time later.

  • I need help I have the m audio m track plus and working out of logic studio 9 and it comes up but I have no sound, but I can here it using garageband. How do I get it to work with logic studio?

How do I use my M Audio M track Plus with the logic pro 9 software? It works with garageband, but I am not getting anything out of Logic. It does show up on list as option and I have done all of the sound preferences to M audio, etc. etc. Please help

I got to that page but clicking on the Subscribe Free had no effect.
Nothing showed in the Podcasts nor the iTunes U.
In fact I also subscribed to Stanford's lectures and despite actually managing to DL them there is still no subscription in iTunes U, just the Intro to Computer Science belatedly.

I'd like to attach the screen grab of the out of order and randomly DLed selection of Harvard's course, but the forum won't let me attach it even though it is only 456k. Correction, close post and retry and now it lets me. NB how intermittent the DLs are and in no particular order.

  • Firewire as audio out -  can i send my iTunes out through my firewire port and into a DAC?

I have a 5 year old (retired) MacBook with firewire 400 and 2 USB 2 ports.  I want to use it as my music source for a fine stereo system.  I want to know if I can use my firewire port to ship my digital music signal out to a DAC before sending it to my pre-amp in analogue format.  OR, can I use the optical digital audio out in the heaphone jack to do it?  What is the bandwidth of the optical out?

You do not need .Mac in order to send photos by e-mail. It sounds like you use ATT as you internet provider. Have you configured Apple Mail to be able to send e-mail yet? Can you send an e-mail text message OK?
If you haven't yet gotten Mail configured to work with your ATT account a quick call to ATT should give you all the information you need. Setting up Mail is easy.
    Post back with further questions.

  • Newbie to logic - audio out

    1. I have external speakers hooked up to my G5. Logic audio will NOT play out the external output of the G5. Garage band will, Logic wont. How do you get audio to play to external speakers.
    2. I have figured out that you put Logic software synthns in the instrument tracks. What are the tracks that have instrument icons used for......external midi boxes?
    thanks for enlightening me.

You have to make sure that Core Audio in Logic is enabled, and that the audio driver is set to "Built-In Audio". This is done under the Audio hardware and Drivers panel, found under the Audio menu.
Logic's default song has tons of those crazy icons all over the place. There are no instruments assigned to them. They are merely showing you what you can do wit the icons, if you're so inclined.
I'd suggest reading up on the various types of audio objects in Logic. This will arm you the knowledge to choose what you need.

  • No sound out of Logic but audio is recognized

I bought an Oxygen 8 and I'm trying to use it with logic. I can see an imput signal when I hit a key but no sound comes out of logic at all.
The Oxygen 8 is running into an audio interface and then into my macbook via usb.
This set-up works fine in Ableton but not in logic.

Make sure you have a software instrument instanced in your track and make sure that track is being routed to the output. Then, check your levels, etc.

  • How to send wav file to NI audio out

How do I send a wav file to the D/A Audio Out
    of a 6071E.
A futher requirement is to send it out differentially
    using channel 0 and 1
    - Make Software User Friendly -

I've attached an example to this posting. This example generates an analog output waveform on the board and channel specified. The waveform generated will be based on the WAV file selected. It is an example of the using a multifunction data acquisition board to play a WAV file on speakers.
    Instructions:
    1. Select the desired device and channel #.
    2. Enter the path to your 8 bit mono WAV file. ( a sample WAV file is included in attachment below)
    3. Enter the update rate for your Analog Output(AO) channel. This should equal the rate of your WAV file.
    4. Wire your speakers to the Analog Output channel
    5. Run it.
    6. The program will continue to loop the WAV file waveform on the AO channel until you clickthe stop button.
    How it works:
    An 8 bit mono WA
V file is read from disk. After the data and header of the WAV file are extracted, the data is scaled from 0 to 1 V and then the entire waveform is written to the Analog Output channel specified. The example is set form continuous generation (or playback) and will continue looping the WAV files waveform until the stop button is pressed.
    I hope this helps.

  • Trouble With Audio Coming Out of Sync

I am having trouble with audio sync
I am using .mov files of myself talking however I also record audio of myself talking as well. The audio files record as mp3 however I convert them to aiff files in order to better synch them in FCP
I have an audio sound as an in point in order to better sync them and the syncing is perfect when i start.
My files are about an hour and a half long and 20 minutes or so the audio starts to come out of sync and my mouth becomes a half second or so behind the audio. I record this audio live so there is no delay between my speaking and my recording voice but the longer the video goes the more out of sync I become.
My syncing method that I use is "Merge Clips" at the in points.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

All sorts of things you can do.
Easiest fix is just to run down your timeline and every few minutes snip the audio and move it back into sync.
    Now after that;""
Qe have no idea what your process was. We assume you're editing in Final Cut. How did you import your footage? What format is it in the browser?
what are the settings of your timeline? Look at the sequence settings.
You know that you can plug audio from
    mic into a Zi8?
You need to get rid of the mixer hum. Likely ac electrical
interference , a ground fault, but who knows.
