Trouble Sending Mail with Gmail

I have tried many times to reply to emails with my iPhone but everytime I go back to see if it sent it, I get a reply saying that It couldn't be sent. Do you guys know what I can do to fix this problem?

Google has instruction posted for setting up your iPhone with gmail. I followed these directions and it worked perfectly.

I am having trouble sending email through Gmail using Apple Mail. I have entered the correct password thorugh the two step verification from Google and the Connection Doctor says that I'm connected to the IMAP and SMTP, but I get the error that my email address was rejected by the gmail server.

Problem sending mail with Gmail POP

A few days ago I began having trouble sending email through mail in my gmail account. (hope you got that) I checked my gmail account online and saw theat eventhough I got an :unable to deliver mail, please try another account message" from Mail, the message was sent according to gmail.
I went into my account settings and saw that my port was changed from 587 to 25. So i changed it back, I also noticed that my username was not how gmail had it listed, so i changed both and now i still get that message but the emails are getting sent according to gmail.

I just began experiencing the same problem. I attempted deleting the pref's file and all other corresponding mail files out of my library to no avail.
Oddly, I can't seem to send out any other SMTP server either.

i have two macbook laptops set up with the same email addresses....one works fine on all email addresses. the other one will received email on all the email accounts, but will not send. I have tried over and over setting up the accounts the same as the other laptop. it will not let me on 3 of them and says their is conflict with another account but i can find nothing that is conflicted. they are all google gmail accounts.

Trouble sending mail with .Mac account

I used to have a .Mac account, and the spam had gotten so bad that I had to cancel it. I started a new trial membership with a new .Mac address so that I could get a new account name. Now when I send an email using Mail, it tries initially to send the email using the old .Mac address, which obviously doesn't work. When I got to the outbox and open the unsent message and then click "send" the message sends without a problem.
The old .Mac account isn't even entered in Mail anymore, so I have no idea what the problem is. I've tried deleting and adding my new account, but still get the same problems.

Mail keeps information about outgoing servers in a separate list, independently of any specific mail account. The account settings just associate one of the available outgoing servers with each account. Deleting an account doesn’t remove the outgoing server from the list. Orphaned or dangling outgoing server entries (i.e. not associated with any account) sometimes cause weird sending problems.
Go to Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), choose Edit Server List from the popup menu, and delete any servers that shouldn’t be there. The Edit Server List panel shows the account each outgoing server is associated with.

Trouble Sending Mail with Outlook 2011 on MacBookPro (Latest Mac)

I have been trying to set up outlook 2011 on my MacBookBro.
I use google apps and I can download my emails but not able to receive them. I have looked at everything I can think of but still not working. Does anyone have any insight on this issue? I figure it is just one stupid setting that I may have missed.

You'll just have to be clearer, as I, too, am unable to decipher the 'can download but not see' part of your message. I use Outlook only on a Gmail and other accounts - I can probably help you but you need to be more clear about what's actually going on...

Trouble sending attachments with Mail 7.0

I just upgraded to Mavericks and I just started using Mail 7.0 to manage my email (switching from Outlook 2011 for Mac). I'm using an early 2008 Mac Pro. I'm having trouble sending emails with attachments through Mail 7.0. Any attachment regardless of file type or size doesn't go through on the first try. I compose my email, hit send and then after sitting in the outbox for a minute or two I get this error message...
I then click on "Try With Selected Server" and sometimes it will send after that and sometimes it won't. File size doesn't seem to matter. I switch back to Outlook and all attachments send just fine. Outlook has its own bugs (that's why I'm trying to switch to Mail) so I'm trying to make Mail my email app.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need any more info. NOTE: I'm not an IT person so please try to dumb down your answers to a first grade level.

I am also having the exact same issue only with exchange emails that have attachments... funny thing is the problem only persistis on my MacBook not on my Imac. Both running Mavericks, set up identically and both totally up to date. I will on occacsion get the can't send mail error on the imac but after I click try again it goes through... on the MacBook I'm not so lucky and end up having to email people dropbox links to every darn file I want to send from my laptop. Talk about a pain in the butt. Apple please address and fix.
btw the unchecking auto discovery trick didn't make any difference for me

Hmm. Looking at the Apple UK support site, it shows a yellow dot for .Mac mail, but says the issue is with incoming mail:

Not sure if that has anything to do with it or if there are other issues.

Interestingly enough, they suggest using your ISP's SMTP server for outgoing mail:

Have you tried that? You should still be able to send as your .Mac email, but have it sent through there instead.

Script task fails to send mail to GMAIL

Can you please check whether this C# coding is correct or not ? because finally it gives error saying "Script

Is anyone else having trouble sending mail? I have a MobileMe subscription - not sure whether that is the problem. The Port assigned to my mail account on my iMac has a different number for the one recommended by Apple, but I hesitate to change it.

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

Can't send mail with Server 10.4.8

Yes... I'm very new at this.
I've got 10.4.8 server set up as a mail server, with SMTP enabled. I think I have DNS configured properly, but I can't send email. I can recieve email. If I run mail (ie, the command "mail") from the terminal, I can send any user email, and they can retrieve that email using the Mac mail app. However, when I try to use the mail app to send, I get the error "cannot send message using the server dns.cha.com". I'm sure I'm doing something very obviously wrong. Following is a dump of postconf -n. Any help out there?

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I still have the same trouble sending mail: it works from the command line, but not from the mail application. The mail error is "cannot send message using server xxx.xxx.xxx", which is the same message that would be sent even if I entered a bogus mail server address. I use the same machine name for the SMTP server and POP server. When I watch the connections pane, I see my computer making a POP connection to get mail, so the DNS must be OK.
