Trouble sending QuickTime VR's

Hi I've just started using QTVR's & have tried sending them to friends but when they download them & try to play them they get a message that says not a .mov file. The people I have sent them to all run Windows, could that be the problem? I have also tried loading these on some web site's (I'm new at that to) but I can't get them to play from those site's. I'm making these QTVR's using ArcSoft PanoramaMaker does that make a diffeance? I have no trouble playing any of them on my computer.
800-FlatPanel iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

If they are downloading via Internet Explorer browser, it may be messing things up. This is very common with IE.
It might be as simple as altering the name of the file, as it writes it to the local disk, like stripping the ".mov". Or it may be performing some translations on the file, such as line terminations.
Check that the file that arrives on their machines is named exactly as you named it, and has the exact same length.
Good luck, and tell them to get a Mac!

  • I am having trouble sending bulk emails (less than 100 at a time) on my gmail account using group names created from my address book.  I use Mail on my I-Mac.  When I try to send out a bulk email, the message shows up that my server can't send them, etc.

I am having trouble sending bulk emails from a Mail Group (less than 100 at a time) on my gmail account.  They come back saying the server can't recognize the data and try again with selected server or try later or edit message, all of which I have attempted a number of times, including re-booting the computer.  I am wondering if there is something wrong in my Address Book?  I have check Apple Preferences, and Mail Preferences and all seems in order.  I can send to any of the individual addresses, but not in a group.
    Thanks for your help.

    1. You need an external DVD drive.
    2. There are no Mac OS X applications or other software in the iTunes App Store.

  • MSN's latest update is crashing Firefox many times per day. When I try to send the crash report to Firefox, it says it has trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting that can help?

Firefox is crashing every time I have my MSN email account up. (Since I use it for business, that's many times per day.) It seems to coincide with hotmail's latest update where the email is checked and downloaded to the inbox automatically. Then when it asks me if I want to send the crash report to Firefox, I select yes and it tells me it had trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting I can change? I can't seem to keep my email account up for more than 10 minutes.
p.s if you're reading this Microsoft, it's still not bad enough to make me to go back to Internet Explorer!

    Hi,
    /Users/sarahschadek/Desktop/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari
Move the Safari app from the Desktop to the Applications folder.
    Restart your Mac.
    That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click:  Software Update ...

Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

  • I use my Ipad to record clients and I need to send these recordings to my customers. I am having trouble sending them because it always says that they are too long in length. They run any where from 5 minutes to maybe 15. Can I compress these

I use my Ipad to film my clients and need to send copies to my clients. I am having trouble sending them. When I press share, it only gives me options of sending them as a Message airdrop or Icloud. When I press Icloud nothing happens. The videos are usually 5minutes to maybe 20 minutes. I need to send them insome kind of a compressed manner so it iseasy for my clients to open and watch. Thanks

Have you thought about uploading them to youtube? You can put things there up to 8 minutes long, and up to 15 if you get verified. You can also have them 'unlisted' which means they're not visible to anyone without the link.
I think your issue isn't as much that the videos are too long, it's that the file size is too big. I have a 3 minute video that I shot with my iPod that's 300 megs, and most mail programs max out at 25 megs.
There may also be options with vimeo or other video sharing programs that you can explore.

  • Trouble sending e-mail

I have had trouble sending e-mails intermittently for about 6 months.  I use Apple's Mail app, and have 2 accounts - iCloud and gmail. Occasionally, I get the e-mail with a drop-down menu saying the e-mail did not go through and giving me the option to try a different server or to try later.  It appears that Mail is trying to send from the GMail server. How can I fix this, and also make iCloud the server to send from vs. the GMail server?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Randy P

Since you are syncing with iCloud why don't you try to delete the Gmail account and try to send your mac mail. If mail goes through okay once the Gmail is gone then you can add Gmail back and all of your mail will also come back. See if that works for you.

  • Is anyone else having trouble sending mail?  I have a MobileMe subscription - not sure whether that is the problem.  The Port assigned to my mail account on my iMac has a different number for the one recommended by Apple, but I hesitate to change it.

Is anyone else having trouble sending mail on an iMac running 10.6.8.  I get a messsage that the server can't be accessed.  Apple help suggests using a different port from the one that was originally set.  I have a Mobile Me account.  Any suggestions?

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.
turning of locator and the push notifications from facebook--they have a lot!

  • Any other Cox users having trouble sending?

Was just wondering if any other cox communications email users are having trouble sending email when using 3G? When I'm home and connected to my wifi, it's fine. but as soon as I leave the house and try to send from my cox accounts, it tells me the sender's address is invalid, even though it's not. it does this for everyone...not just one recipient.

Cox is one of the ISPs which blocks the outgoing port 25 outside of their network.
On your iPhone, go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars> Your email account.
    Tap on SMTP.
On the next screen you should see a list of secondary servers.
    Tap on AT&T SMTP server.
    Turn the Server ON.
Go back out and you should be able to connect when away from your home network.

  • Why can't I send quicktime movies via attachment?

    Hello everyone
This is my first post since making the transition over to mac a few months ago. While the transition has been pretty smooth, I have run into a little problem which I can't seem to get my head around.
I have recently started using .mac as my primary email account. Most of my friends do not have a .mac account (80% have hotmail accounts) but sending photos and text-based emails have not been a problem.
However, I've been trying to send quicktime movie files as attachments (< 10 mb limit) and I keep getting a error message "Can not send message using server "smtp.mac.com".
From quickly browsing the discussion boards, there was a suggestion to change the port settings from 25 to 587 which I tried. Unfortunately, It didn't made a difference so I've changed it back.
I am currently participating in the 60 day trial - does apple place any restrictions on what I can or can't send during that period?
I know I've probably made a silly mistake somewhere - I just can't seem to find it.
Any help would be most appreciated
    Thank you
    Ash

Usually webmail servers with size limits refuse to accept a message
that is too long and generally notify you of that.
True if a message that exceeds the overall message size limit for the recipient's incoming mail server is actually sent.
I'm basing my conclusion this is an overall message size limit problem on the size of one of the pre-encoded QuickTime files the OP has tried to send and the following copied from his first post in this thread.
I have recently started using .mac as my primary email account. Most of my friends do not have a .mac account (80% have hotmail accounts) but sending photos and text-based emails have not been a problem.
I don't believe he is accessing/using his Hotmail account in Mail to send these messages since he referred to trying to send a QuickTime file attachment to his Hotmail account with his .Mac account via the Mail.app but I may be wrong.
Since you are a relatively new Mail.app user, I'll give you an example of an improper error message provided by the Mail.app.
If the incoming mail server for an account that you access with the Mail.app is down or experiencing a temporary problem, the Mail.app will prompt you to manually enter the account's password when checking the account for new Mail even though this password is stored in your Keychain instead of a more proper error message such as:
There was a problem communicating with the incoming mail server for this account.
The incoming mail server is not available and may be down or experiencing a problem.
Please check with your ISP or email account provider for this account.
Sometimes there is a problem with the Keychain password for the account that running Keychain First Aid will (or should) resolve but the problem is not having any idea where to look or where the problem lies based on this prompt to manually enter the account's password only.
I've been using the Mail.app exclusively since Jaguar was introduced and such an improper prompt without a valid error message is my biggest complaint about the application.
Sorry to get off topic here.

  • Trouble sending MMS on LG Spectrum

Whether I try to send a picture captured from the camera, one from the gallery or forward one that I've received as an MMS message, it says it's sending for many, many minutes, then finally I will get an error message saying that it couldn't send, the file is too large.  I then have to shrink the picture down to about 16k before it will send; and even then it's hit or miss.
None of my friends/family seem to have this kind of trouble sending pics or videos.
I called the help desk and the tech reviewed my account, made a change or two to something, but it's still doing it.
    Any help would be appreciated!

        Hi candbbrown88,
I realize the joy in sharing the precious moments captured by pictures and I am here to help! When did the problem begin? Are you using a 3rd party messaging application? Do you experience this issue with all contacts or specific contacts? Try this, go Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Camera>Clear Data/Cache. Repeat, these steps for "My Gallery" as well. This will not remove your pictures from the device. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.^AB

  • Hi, I am having trouble sending Illustrator CC PDF's to my printers.

Hi, I am having trouble sending Illustrator CC PDF's to my printers. I see them perfectly when I open it on my screen but they are getting a muddled view. How can I fix this - I have an urgent job to send out!

Color management (or more to the point lack of same) plus any number of other issues such as we explain them every day here:
    Saving PDF for older programs
    or here:
Text (created outlines) looks bad in PDF?
Anyway, without seeing your files, screenshots, info about your color management and the printer's requirements this can only end up in longwinded, unproductive threads. The proper thing to do would be to provide all the necessary info and on top of it the polite thing to do would be to do some basic reading up on color management (and possibly be scared out of your wits).
