Trouble sending yahoo mail

recently I have been having problems sending from my yahoo accounts!!! when I send the emails, i get a red X and the message status shows " message included an invalid address". This is not good, since most of my emails have to be sent from the yahoo accounts. can anyone help me out!! I have contacted yahoo, sprint and on the line with RIM for over an hour, this is very frustrating!!!!

Have you tried resetting your device by pulling out battery? If not please do so. Then send the service books from carrier BIS site of handheld email setting.

Any chance you use two step verification on your Yahoo account? If you've ever had to enter a code that was text messaged to you when you log into your Yahoo account on a new computer, then two step verification is probably on.
If that is the case, you'll have to generate an app specific password in the Yahoo web mail page and enter that as your password on your Apple Device instead of your standard password in Mail Settings.

Trouble sending e-mail

I have had trouble sending e-mails intermittently for about 6 months. I use Apple's Mail app, and have 2 accounts - iCloud and gmail. Occasionally, I get the e-mail with a drop-down menu saying the e-mail did not go through and giving me the option to try a different server or to try later. It appears that Mail is trying to send from the GMail server. How can I fix this, and also make iCloud the server to send from vs. the GMail server?

Since you are syncing with iCloud why don't you try to delete the Gmail account and try to send your mac mail. If mail goes through okay once the Gmail is gone then you can add Gmail back and all of your mail will also come back. See if that works for you.

Trouble opening Yahoo Mail with Safari

Recently began having trouble opening Yahoo Mail with Safari. I am continually asked to upgrade my Safari to a newer edition; however, when I do a software upgrade check it tells me I have the latest edition. Anyone else having this trouble?

Your OS is way out of date and thus your version of Safari and Firefox are too. It would be wise to update Tiger using the combo update found here:http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_4_11_Combo_Update__PPC
Then you can further update Safari to it's current version using Softwareupdate from the Apple menu.
You can also use Firefox Help menu to update to it's current version.
To be safe run Disk Utility's repair disk function from your original install disk and repair permissions before and after the update from your boot disk.

Your SMTP server settings are incorrect. Mail has two connections, a receive path from your mail server to your mail client, and a send path from your mail client to the mail server. The send path uses SMTP to communicate with the server.
Apple Mail.app has separate settings for the receive and send paths; each has its own server, username, password, port and SSL settings. Your send path settings are likely incorrect.
To determine the proper settings, check with Yahoo for the SMTP server settings for your account (usually a web search, but I don't know the details of how Yahoo sets up their accounts by default nor whether that varies by account), and verify that your settings match — the send-path settings are available via the accounts settings; Mail > Preferences > Accounts > select the account > Account Information > and switch the Select SMTP Server setting to Edit SMTP Server List... > select your Yahoo SMTP server, and set the account details per Yahoo requirements.

Hi all,
I am unable to send mail via a yahoo plus account. My out going server is smtp.mail.yaho.com. SSL is selected. Server port is 25. I have tried to change authentication to "password", but it stays as none.
POP functionality works fine.

Where did you get the Yahoo Mail Plus account setup information?
I didn't see any reference on Yahoo's website to use SSL for the SMTP server.
I copied the following account settings from Yahoo's website:

I have tried to change authentication to "password",
but it stays as none.
After selecting Password for the SMTP server authentication and entering your Account or User Name and the account's password, are you selecting OK afterwards to save the changed settings?

Cannot send Yahoo Mail but can receive it!

Hello all!
I am new to Mac - just bought my very first macbook pro 13" yesterday and have fallen TOTALLY in love with it! Not sure why its taken me so long to realised my life wasnt complete without a Mac, but anyhoo!
OK, so I have synced my Yahoo Mail Plus account with Mail, and it receives messages perfectly, but when i try to send messages, the sending little loading wheel just keep spinning, and Outbox says i have 1 message to go, but it never sends! Its been going for about 10 miunutes now!! I have quit and restart Mail a few times, but NADA!
Any ideas? Advice? Help?

It doesn't seem to cover your specific issue, but have you tried using a different network (either a different wi-fi network, or switching from wi-fi to cellular or vice-versa if you have a wi-fi+cellular iPad)?
For GMail, iCloud and Yahoo, copies of messages are stored on their respective servers, so you could try deleting the account on your iPad, then re-adding each account one at a time to see if that resolves the issue.

Trouble Sending & Receiving Mail Through Exchange Account from Lion Mail

Mid-2011 MacBook Air, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5, OS X 10.7.2.
I'm having trouble sending and recieving mail through my Exchange Server Mail account under Lion 10.7.2 on my MacBook Air. The MBA is new with a factory install of Lion. On my MBP the server settings were as follows:
Internal & External Server: red001.mail.microsoftonline.com
When I allow Mail to configure the server settings based on my company eMail ID & Password it sets it up as follows:
Internal Server: 10.32.16.62
External Server: autodiscover-red001.mail.microsoftonline.com
Part of the time this seems to work ok but frequently Mail cannot seem to connect to the Exchange Server to send/recieve. The internet connection is fine and I can send/recieve from my iCloud mail account with no problems.
I recently "upgraded" from mobileMe to iCloud, I do not seem to have any of these issues on my iPad2 or iPhone4, both of which are running iOS5.
Anyone have any ideas?

This started happening with me a week ago. Don't know if it's connected to the latest update or not. I'm running 10.6.7. I can get Exchange mail (sometimes) on my iPhone 3GS, but it's stopped on my MBP and iPad2. Neither can I log onto the company's web mail site from home ("can't reach server" error message). Weird and very frustrating. IT guy at work says there is nothing wrong at his end.

I've noticed since updating to 4.2.1, that my Yahoo mail takes several minutes to send the mail.
I don't have any concrete evidence, but something is surely different.
Is anyone else noticing a difference?

Looks like on Gmail and Exchange (Besides the 2003 calendar issue replying to invites) that only Yahoo emails seem to be impacted..
If you have a integrated hands free car system. Try being on a call and then switching between bluetooth on/off.. It just sits there and acts like it is trying to load the options..
But i feel your pain i hope they fix it soon.

Trouble with Yahoo Mail in setting up new computer

I'm having this issue getting a new Mac set up with a Yahoo account. I already have another machine set up with a yahoo account in the Mail app working just fine. Then, I'm setting up a new laptop and I used Mobile Me to sync the new computer with the old computer's Mail accounts. One of them is a Yahoo account. When, after a long time setting up, the new machine can only get Yahoo mail up to a certain date. Any new mails will not be downloaded to the new machine. I can't figure out how to get these newer messages onto the new machine. I have Yahoo set to keep all messages. This is the first time I've had this issue. I'm afraid to delete the account on the new machine for fear of Mobile Me syncing to the older machine and deleting the account on it.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Since a Yahoo account can be created and accessed as a POP account only with the Mail.app on your Mac, it shouldn't matter if you delete and manually recreate the account with the Mail.app on your new Mac. This will not affect all received messages that remain on the server even if the account is deleted with the Mail.app on your other Mac, which I don't beleive it will. You can temporarily disable syncing with your MobileMe account on the other Mac before deleting and manually recreating the account with the Mail.app on your new Mac and then re-enable syncing with MobileMe on the other Mac after doing so.

Trouble with Yahoo Mail when using Tiger

Since yesterday I am not able to sign into Yahoo Mail when I have the
Keep me signed in check box checked,
but it will let me sign in, if the check box is NOT checked.
What it does is return to the login screen instead of going to Yahoo Mail.
This action is same if I use different web browsers.
So I conclude that it is a change at the Yahoo end.
I am wondering if anyone else has this same problem.
(I do plan to give feedback to the Yahoo web site)

Yes, I have cleared all cookies and reset Safari, several times.
I just discovered that having that box checked does NOT prevent me from
logging into e-mail, when using Firefox web browser, version 3.6.19
I was wrong to have made the statement about different browsers, in my previous posting.

Trouble with yahoo mail "pushing" to iphone 4s

Has anyone else had problems with their yahoo mail account "pushing" to their iphone 4s? This problem has been happening off and on for about 2 months now. Had an appointment with the genius bar at apple, tech wiped out the phone and told me to restore at home. Said it should fix the problem which it did for about a week. She said if it started happening again, it was probably the phone. Went back last week and upgraded to 4s. Mail worked for about 3 hours - hasn't worked since. Tried deleting the account, restarting iphone, deleted majority of emails from inbox/trash/sent. Nothing has worked. It won't even fetch at the established times (15, 30, 1 hour). Contacted yahoo mail also who said they had been advised on the problem and are "working on it" Anyone have any experience with this? Any help welcomed!

I have the same issue iphone 4s with iOS 5.0.1.
There is another thread here - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3378671?start=75&tstart=0. Seems like quite a few others have the same issue. I also read in this or another forum that the push can be easily restarted by opening up the multitask bar (double click) and then close the mail app and then restart it. You can also do power down the phone and then start it up. Apparently the mail app needs to be running in the background. It seems that swithcing between wifi and 3G or a screen lock may have something to do with it (but I can't confirm this).
Nice to know Yahoo is working on it.
