Trouble setting up my mail account on my Mac Book Pro.

It refuses to take an email account (or sync to it) and automatically takes me out of the application when I attempt to get 'new mail' saying it could not connect. Suggestions?

Have you checked out the first article below to go through using Connection Doctor to see what is taking it out of sending and receiving email? Do you also have the right settings in there for your email? Check out the second article to see if it can pull up the proper settings for it.

Hotmail on a Mac is POP3 only, you will only get the basic folders (inbox, sent, trash etc) and it will not sync with other devices.

This helps the storage and purpose of email as well. I could always log into online email account to find history of emails.

It won't show up on your Apple TV until it is fully downloaded into iTunes on your computer, have you done this.

Yes, and you DO NOT have to have the "exact same info on it" as chrisfromgastonia says. That is not true. You can have whatever content you like on each device, iTunes will keep it all straight, by device, including separate backups.

Mail not working on mac book pro

I am trying to set up my email on my mac book pro. It stopped working correctly so I deleted my att account, and planned on using my icloud account figuring I wouldn't have any problems with that one. Well now when I go into mail, it won't let me set up either account. It says the server failed and I know I am entering my password correctly. Any suggestions?

This helped me. I guess it's bc I don't have lion yet? I was still able to configure my icloud. Hope it helps someone else.

Syncing Mail messages between 2 Mac book pros

What is the best way to keep 2 macbooks synced up identically, especially with mail messages.

With an IMAP account which is designed for access with an email client on multiple computers keeping all server stored mailboxes synchronized automatically with the email client used on different computers.
As an example, a .Mac account can be accessed as a .Mac type account, IMAP or POP account with Mail or as an IMAP account or POP account with a different email client on a Mac or Windows PC.
A .Mac type account with Mail is really an IMAP account and behaves in the same way.
I access my .Mac account as a .Mac type account with Mail on myu Mac and as an IMAP account with Outlook Express on my Dell laptop running Windows XP at work.
When checking the account with OE on my Windows PC at work, all server stored mailboxes are automatically synchronized and identical to all server stored mailboxes with the Mail.app on my Mac and the same in reverse.
You can also store Sent messages on the server with a .Mac type or IMAP account.
