Trouble signing in with OS X Yosemite
I have OS X Yosemite and now I have to log into my computer twice before it opens. The first time I type in my password, the little dots representing my password are black, then after I press enter I get a thin black bar towards the bottom of the screen showing the program is loading, but before it can fully load I get the "I'm shutting down now" tone, the screen goes black, then up pops a new sign-in screen, only this time the password sign-in dots (as I type in my password) are white, as is the progress bar toward the bottom of the screen. (Wow, I've never typed a sentence that long!) Perhaps the new OS X version is overlaying the older program and the older program didn't want to leave? I'm not tech savvy so I have no clue what or why this problem is occurring. Any ideas?
You activated FileVault. The safest way to recover is to turn it off in the Security & Privacy preference pane, wait for it to finish decrypting, then turn it back on if you wish. You can use the computer while those operations are in progress, but performance will be reduced.

I've just setup a new OS X server (10.5.6). The only two services I have running are mail and web. The web services seem to be running well. However, mail is giving me problems. Specifically:
If I send mail to a user of my machine (me) from gmail, for example, my mail server accepts it and creates a database entry for it. However, when I attempt to sign-in to IMAP or POP with mail, I can't access the message. Connection Doctor (in Mail) says that "Connection and login to server successful." But the Activity window (in Mail) shows a list of actions with barber poles and big red stop signs beside each action. These have been there for an hour or more.
The POP mailaccess.log shows that my user account has logged in, but I don't have anything in Mail.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

No, adobe never supports any version of PSE after a new one comes out, and it doesn't support the current version much.
The only updates for PSE 8 are manually installed, so go to help>updates and when the updater tries to run, set it not to check again. I'm assuming you're using the windows version, so the ACR updates (all the updates there are) are here:

Each time I boot my Macbook Pro running a currently patched version of Yosemite I am asked to "Sign in with my Apple ID." After that I have to approve the use of Find My Mac, and then I have to agree to the Terms and conditions of Use. This is very annoying since I use Bootcamp a lot and it adds a fair effort to the reboot process. Any thoughts?
Some additional clues that may or may not have bearing on this.
Once I am booted into Yosemite completely, if I open Safari (also current version) I am told my Safari Extensions have been migrated and I have to re-enable each one individually. They have all been disabled. This will occur each time I completely close Safari and reopen it.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your MacBook Pro. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on a couple things about your specific configuration. The message you mentioned about the disk being encrypted would seem to indicate that you may have File Vault enabled. If that is the case and you are having a login issue, you would need to use the File Vault recovery key to reset your login password instead of your Apple ID, as noted in the following article:

To completely shut it down, even in the background, double click the home button to display the row of apps. Then press and hold the Facetime app until the app displays a minus sign. then touch the minus sign.
The app is now stopped ! -

I have somehow ended up with two icloud accts. I am now having trouble signing into Messenger.ui
i have somehow set up two icloud accts on my ipad and they are both linked to my Apple ID. however i am not able to use my Messenger App. since. whenrver I sign in with my apple ID ands password I get an error message. pleas help

What will Apple do after they do not support iPhoto? Will photo stream be eliminated? I will no longer be able to use aperture, so have signed on with LR & PS.
Just because Apple will no longer support IPhoto or Aperture doesn't mean that the versions that are still out there still won't work, function or still do what it is designed to do.
I do not like all of this offsite, Cloud service storage, anyways. I rather have easy, trouble free access to all of my data locally.
I am still planning on using the current versions of IPhoto and Aperture as I am not moving any time soon to Yosemite or any newer OS versions based on it. I still use a lot of legacy software that I simply can't afford to upgrade any farther.
Plus, I use other photo book sites other than Apple's own service, anyways, because these other services offer more products and are far more flexible than Apple's own print services. -
I was having trouble purchasing candy crush updates (for no apparent reason, as it has been fine previously). I thought perhpas I needed to download some new software and promptly started the IOS 6 update. It installed and then asked me to complete the final few steps by signing in with my apple id. When I try to do that it says "it cannot connect to the server". I have tried turing it off and on and over riding it, but it won't let me do anything at all now on my ipad mini.
Can anyone help? I literally can't function!!!!You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens. -
i changed my sim on my iPhone n reconfigured iMessage, it configured with my number but when i sign in with my apple id it says username/password is wrong while in all other things like FaceTime, App Store it worked with the same id and password..

To add to sig's reply, "calibrating" does not calibrate Lithiu-Ion batteries, it calibrates the charge reporting circuitry. I am having trouble signing in to the App Store
I am having trouble signing into the App Store to purchase an app for the Mac (Facetime for Mac). I have an Apple ID that works perfect with iTunes, additionally I used the same Apple ID to login to this support forum, again, no problems. However when I attempt to use it for the App Store, I get a message that reads, your password is invalid, it must have upper case, and lower case, and numbers etc. I am a single user, one person with one Apple ID on one iMac. Thank you for your time and help.
Thank you. My Apple ID does NOT contain an upper case letter, and yet it works fine when signing into iTunes, and this help forum. But again, the App Store wants a PW with an upper, lower case and number. Perhaps I will have to make that minor change. Thank you again.

Your program appears to be Photoshop Elements 13 and not Premiere Elements 13. And, somehow your thread has been posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum. Please re-post your question in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum or wait for a moderator here to move your thread from here to there.

Click on "License This Software" and follow the instruction to do that. It is not uncommon to run into this situation even when dealing with a purchased software. It may never happen again.

Today I purchased an iphone5 at a flea market but i am having trouble setting it up. I reset it but the it's still registerd with the previous owners apple ID so i have no way of accesing the phone. Is there any way to fix this issue and sign in with my account?

Follow the steps in the video and it will allow you to get the previous owners email if they ever used FaceTime on the device if you are lucky it will show the email when you open FaceTime then you can try to contact them and tell them to disable find my iPhone.
