Trouble synching audiobooks to ipod nano

Sunday I just barely figured out how to synch music to my ipod.
Now I decided to buy an audio book and I cannot figure out how to synch it to my ipod.

On my ipod if I click settings I will find the audiobook tab. But once I hit the audiobook tab I only see 3 options. Slower, Normal and Faster.
Is it even possible to download audiobooks to the ipod nano?

    Hello Bridgie\'s girl
Try out the 5r’s section to resolve issues with your iPod nano not syncing. A simple restart my fix it or you may need to restore it all together.

  • Transferring audiobooks to iPod Nano

I recently bought an iPod nano 7th generation device and successfully synced it with iTunes.  I then transferred an audiobook to the nano using OverDrive media, which I've done many times with an iPod Classic.  Although the transfer appears to work, the audiobook is not appearing on the nano.
Is there a step I'm missing with the nano?

Here is an Apple fact sheet on managing playlists on your iPod. You may find it helpful in only copying selected playlists to your iPod when you synch with your computer.

  • Trouble Uploading Videos To iPod Nano via iTunes

I am having trouble uploading videos to my new iPod Nano (4th Gen? The new Nano-chromatic one). I have the latest iTunes version (iTunes 8), and have followed all the Help topics related to this problem. When I have converted the video (which i have downloaded to my computer from a DVD I have purchased of the TV Series "Black Books") to the iPod friendly format (following the advice from the iTunes Help section) I then try to 'click and drag' the converted movie file into my iPod under the Devices heading, a window pops up saying:
""BLACK_BOOKS Movie 01" was not copied to the iPod because it cannot be played on this iPod."
This confuses me as all the tech specs about the new iPod nanos say that they are able to play videos. And considering as how I have converted the file to one supposedly supported by the iPod I do not understand why it can't be copied to, and then played by my iPod.
I have followed all the Help sections as suggested and the problem is still NOT resolved.
    Can anyone help?

    I had the same problem.
First you need to download handbrake http://handbrake.fr/?article=download
Then run the file through it, and the output file will work with your chromatic.

  • Transferred audiobook to iPod Nano, but cannot locate it

I've transferred many audiobooks to my iPod nano over the years.  I just transferred an audiobook (twice) to my iPod nano, but I cannot locate it anywhere.  It is not under Audiobooks nor under Music, which is where I can usually find them.  I know that it transferred to my nano, because I saw the available space decrease each time I tried to transfer it.  I have a 4th/5th generation iPod nano.

  • Trouble syncing to my ipod nano

I am having trouble syncing my playlist in Windows Media Center to my new ipod nano. I've tried everything I can think of with no luck at all. Any help out there?

I believe iPods are designed only to sync with iTunes. I know there are ways to get it work with other applications, but I don't believe it's officially supported. You may want to contact Apple support or Microsoft support.

  • HT1473 i need a file to download audiobooks to ipod nano 5th generation

I need a file to download audiobooks to my ipod nano 5th generation
    eg. .aa

    Original message:-
I have tried every way but due to my ipod requiring iOS I cannot upload audiobooks. I can only upload audiobooks  made by Librivox. on iTunes
I used another Website called "Audible", where with my Ipod nano 5th generation they gave me a file namely .aa which worked for me and I was able to upload audios of all kinds onto iTunes and my Ipod..
Have iTunes any such files that I can use to do the same please? thank you.
    New Message:-
Sorry my friend but you are not answering my question.
Now you are asking me  "And what do you mean by 'have iTunes any such files' ?"
and "have you checked to see if the site that you got them from have their own app in your country's app store ? Which is UK, is there a difference?
I have an Ipod nano 5th Generation so I use "ITunes" yes? or "Apple" if you prefer that?
Now when I download audiobooks on to iTunes  I cannot transfer those audiobooks from iTunes  on to my ( Ipod nano 5th Generation) because ITunes STORE tell me that I need iOS  which is NOT on my player although when I purchased the player it advertised it downloaded Music and Audiobooks OK?
Yet when I went to another site "Audible" THEY had a file to facilitate my player WHICH allowed me to download both music and audiobooks:)
Now all I'm asking you is does "ITunes" have any such software to allow me to do the same to get my audiobooks downloaded?  Thank You.

  • I have some troubles with my lovely iPod nano :(

    Dear readers
I have troubles with my iPod nano.
Trouble #1: The pictures are not in the right order (by date).
Trouble #2: Some songs just skip to the next one. **** annoying!
Trouble #3: What is error 69?
Trouble #4: I forgot how to make my iPod reappear in my iTune, so it would be very nice if you tell me how to do it.
    Thanks
    Nonstupid_Billy (Billy is my nickname)

Ahhh, the new Error 69. Many people but not all have the same problem. E-mail Apple about this and try to use the last version of iTunes. For the songs skipping, there is an error when syncing those songs and were not synced properly. Try reseting the ipod to factory settings

  • Having trouble with updated iTunes - iPod Nano 1st Gen.

My iPod Nano [1st Generation] won't update or anything with iTunes 7.0!!! It worked with iTunes 6, but I downloaded 7 and it messed up my iPod - I tried deleting iTunes 7 and redownloading 6, but when I finished doing that, and I tried to get 6 to load, a window popped up that said "'iTunes Library.itl' cannot load because it was created on an updated version of iTunes" or something along that line. So now my songs are completely gone, I have NOTHING on my iPod because I had to delete iTunes 7... WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?!?!

I tried to get 6 to load, a window popped up that said "'iTunes Library.itl' cannot load because it was created on an updated version of iTunes"
the following post might be of some help with that:

  • Free space. Trouble loading music to ipod nano

I bought a 2GB Nano today but although it is supposed to hold about 500 songs, I can only load about 1/3 of that volume. Am I just being really blonde or can someone explain how to correct this. Also, I used to have a shuffle and it was much easier to upload music to it with the 'autofill' feature. When my nano is plugged in, the 'autofill' feature doesnt display. Why is it so hard to upload music.

However, my 2GB iPod nano still only stores 132 randomly selected songs from my library and fills up the memory.
I'm a little confused by this. The 2GB Nano doesn't have an autofill feature like the shuffle does. How exactly are you getting a "random" selection of songs?
Are you using manual updates for your Nano and picking the songs you want on it?
If your songs are all 128kbps AAC files of around 4 minutes each... and you can really only fit 130 tracks on the iPod... then you might want to try restoring your iPod and syncing your music again.
Additionally, the importing settings are only for NEWLY IMPORTED tracks. Changing those settings won't affect tracks that are already in your iTunes library.
Is it possible that you have songs in your library that are encoded higher than 128kbps? You can do a 'Get Info' on some of your tracks and check the encoding bitrate.

  • Trouble transferring audiobooks to iPod

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. I downloaded 2 audiobooks (Spanish lessons) to my laptop hard drive from a shareware website (like napster). They are both mp3 zip files each about 196 mbs. I tried clicking and dragging the files into library and iPod (with iTunes open) but no dice. I also tried converting to mp4 using Videora but didn't work. What is going on? Could you please help. Thanks!

You say mp3 zip files. Question, did you unzip them first prior to placing in iTunes. Next thing you will probably find is that they won't be AAC files. for Audiobooks to appear in the "AUDIOBOOK" folder, they must be AAC files. If they are not they will appear in the Library song list. That isn't a big deal however, it will still play as a Audiobook. You should also highlight the book file and GET INFO then go to Options and select "Remember Playback". By doing this you can play the audiobook then stop for awhile and when you come back to it, it will start playing right where you left off. If you don't select Remember Playback, when you come back to the audiobook it will start from the beginning.

  • Having trouble getting audiobooks onto iPod Touch

I've tried troubleshooting this for my mom to no avail...
We've found them in the iPod tab on iTunes -- they are all there, and she's able to check the box to Sync to her iPod, but nothing. She's got enough capacity... we've even tried moving them to a playlist but those playlists will mysteriously not show up in the Sync tab on iTunes...
Any idea what's going on here? Trying to help from 1500 miles away but it's hard to tell.
    Thanks,
    AP

Are you positive these audiobooks are configured to sync to the iPod Touch?  Wouldn't hurt to double check.
Plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on its name from under the Devicessection in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will bring you to the iPod's Summary tab.   Look for the Books configuration tab along the top and click that.
There should be an option right that the top that says Sync Audiobooks with a checkbox next to it.  Make sure it is ticked.  Then configure other settings below that.

  • Trouble copying audiobooks to iPod

I recently bought a load of audiobooks off itunes and played them on my iPod. Last week I bought a new iPod and for some reason I cant copy my audiobooks onto my iPod. There is no error, they just wont copy. A friend of mine says that this is because of the DRM that apple has put on, which I really dont understand as Im not doing anything illegal here (or am I?), besides what is the point of this DRM nonsense anyway - I paid for the product rather then download it illegally and now Im being punished? I shouldn't have to spend several hours trying to figure this out, its just so incredibly frustrating - basically I will never ever buy another apple product or purchase a song legally because of this. Sorry if it sounds a little ranty, some help would really be well appreciated.

On the new iPod, do you have the checkbox set to include audiobooks?

  • Why don't new songs purchased on I-Tunes synch to my iPod (Nano 5th generation) that is recongized by my computer? What do I do to make that happen?

I purchased a new desk top computer. My iTunes account is regognized by the new computer, but only includes the songs purchased on iTunes. My iPod is also recognized by the computer when I plug it in. When I attempt to sync new songs purchased on iTunes to my iPod, they do sync to my iPod. Can anyone help me figure this out?

There are two questions here...  Your computer has an iTunes library, not an iTunes "account."  The account that relates to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to make purchases from the iTunes Store.  Signing in to the iTunes Store using your Apple ID does not put your songs from your previous iTunes library (on the old computer) into your new iTunes library.  You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer.
NOTE:  If you happen to be subscribed to Apple's iTunes Match service, your entire iTunes music library is stored in iCloud, and you CAN access it from any supported computer or mobile device, using your Apple ID.
If you have access to your old computer and your old iTunes library, and you want to transfer it to your new computer, you can post back to get more info on that topic.  For songs that are previous purchases from the iTunes Store, you can re-download them into your new iTunes library at no cost, by signing in to the iTunes Store (using the same Apple ID) and going to the Purchases screen (click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS on the iTunes Store Home screen).
The second separate question is about setting up automatic syncing for the iPod, from your new iTunes library.  You may not want to do that until you have all songs from your old iTunes library consolidated into your new iTunes library.  Please post back...

  • HT1727 I lost my old iPod and bought a new one. The old one had many of MY personally owned and legally bought CDs on it. I have those iTunes backed up ant now I can't seem to "synch" them to the new iPod nano.

I can't seem to synch my new iPod nano to the legally purchased music from CDs that had been on my old iPod which I've lost.
I had a backup of all those iTunes that I want to import to the new nano.
How can I "synch" the new iPod nano to the music I see in an iTune library? The new iPod nano displays "no music" and
    doesn't play anything.

    Hello PrettyinPinkInk,
You might consider restoring the iPhone, then removing the SIM card after activating the iPhone, so as to use it as an iPod Touch. This should prevent any unwanted association with a phone number, and thus, voicemail, as well.
