Trouble Synching

When I identify the music in my library kept on my iMac that I want to put on my iPhone 4 and check the playlists, artists, albums, and genres only a small number of the checked items are actually copied onto the phone. What am I doing wrong?
Across from the "Sync Music" headiing on the iTunes Music page is a number that increases as I add (check) more music. Just now, I wanted to sync 1,182 songs onto the phone. The blue ("audio") portion of the "Capacity" bar at the bottom of the page showed 0.47 GB/102 songs/11.5 hours. When I synced the phone, only 102 songs were copied. I don't understand why all the checked items weren't copied.
Other factors: It is a 16 GB phone; I just updated iTunes, it's running software version 4.3.5, the Capacity bar showed that the phone still has 5.8 GB free; and under "Options" on "Summary" page, the only box checked is "Sync only checked sonfgs and videos."
Can anyone help?

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Trouble synching in iTunes 10

I'm having trouble synching my iPhone 3GS. I want to upgrade to the latest version of software for the iPhone but when I try, I get a message informing me that there are purchases on my phone that need transferring.
I have backed up my phone several times and right clicked the phone icon in the device section and selected "transfer purchases". It seemed to do that yet each time I still get the error message that purchases need to be transferred.
I have tried reinstalling iTunes 10. Also when I look at the applications tab, it is frayed out and I can't move any of the application between pages...
Any suggestions?

It should sync the same if the songs are the same. You can try:
- Unsyncing all music and resysncing
- Restoring the iPod

Trouble Synching iPhone 3GS

Before I start, I have an iPhone 3GS and run Windows XP. iTunes is latest version. I have my music library on an external hard drive, and have everything synched to an Apple TV.
iTunes doesn't show my iPhone on my laptop computer. It works on my main computer (actually my wife's computer and iTunes), but not my laptop which has all my music. I've gone through the trouble shooting, and the only thing I haven't done is uninstall and re-install iTunes.
I have a few questions/reasons why I don't want to do that -
Will iTunes recognize my music on my external hard drive (all Apple Lossless)?
Will I have to import it again?
Will my Apple TV have to be re-synched?
I don't want to re-rip all my CDs (about 300), and I don't want to re-synch my Apple TV. It took a couple days the first time I did it.
I want to change the music on my iPhone, hence why I don't just use the main computer. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is anyone else having trouble synching their iPod contacts?

History:
While synching my older iPoud Touch (via cable link), with my new MacBook Pro (OS X Lion) I lost all of the contacts on the iPod and none of the lost contacts made it to the MacBook Pro ... before I knew it another back up ran so now my empty iPod backed itself up ... so RESTORE did not help me. Is it possible to request a back up from iTunes to a specific time before my operator error. Interestingly the sync with calendar worked like a charm.
I'm up to date for this iPod ... running 4.2.1 (8c148)
Update:
I entered a new contact into my iPod and ran sync again ... and the new addition was added to my computer's contact list, however the data from my computer did not update my iPod.
Does anyone have any insight why this seams to be a one way trip?

When is sunlight, absolutely. Not a problem with the Droid Ultra but rather all phones.
You ever see the commercial about the Nook devices. The have a special screen to reduce glare allowing you to see your screen in sunlight.
As far as I know, companies have not implemented this on anycell phone.
There are after market anti-glare screen protectors
Check Amazon or eBay, they should be relatively inexpensive.

Outlook 2007 and trouble synching calendar

As a help to those of you who have experienced the total frustration of trying to synch Outlook 2007 appointments with your BB - I was able to figure out what was happening with mine, and perhaps this will help others:
I found that the appointments that WERE NOT synching were the ones that were on my shared calendar - who woulda thunk? I didn't put them on the shared calendar - but, there they were and they did not synch.
Once I moved them to my personal calendar, they synched up perfectly.
Hope this helps someone out there.

Trouble synching movies to new iPad

I recently migrated my Itunes library to an external drive. I can connect to it from either my iMac (to which it is tethered) or MacBook Pro via my wireless router (Time Capsulte). So far good. I only open one library at a time, which I understand is a limitation of this approach and that's fine with me. I synched my iPhone successfully to my MacBook Pro with no problems.
However, I replaced my iPad (ate the restocking fee in order to get the Wifi + 3G 64GB version. In synching this new iPad to my MacBook Pro, for some reason, if I check my movies (I am set to manually organize my musics and videos), then click Apply, my older movies will not synch. I see these movies in my Library, so I cannot figure out what is wrong. I have the most recent updates to Snow Leopard, iTunes, etc.
My TV shows synch fine, books, i.e., when I check them, they get copied --it's only the movies. I seem to have at least 40GB available and the movies in question don't total more than 10GB.
Help! Can't figure out where the glitch is.

Trouble synching ipod classic

I'm having problems with my ipod not synching to my itunes. Itunes registers my ipod but it won't synch. I have rebooted my ipod and I have the current version of both my ipod and my itunes.
Will I lose info on my itunes if I remove it and reinstall it?

Hint elsewhere in this thread solved my issue. Turned off the equalizer on each and every file. Originally, to save disk space, I had put "none" for each file. Then, as I found that I had a tun of room on the 160 Classic, I added the appropriate "Pop, Rock, Classical, Spoken Word" etc. for each track. A few disk back ups ago, I had NOT added the equalizer settings. Couldn't get synched thereafter. Once I removed them--voila! I'm synched! Thanks to whomever posted that info. . .

Trouble synching Photo Album with 1600+ photos and videos

I have a very big album with over 1600 pics and videos. At some point after 1200 or so, I started getting error messages when trying to synch my photos to my computer. I am terrified to loose my pictures and want them on my phone at all times (they represent a video journal of my now year old twins since they were born). Does anyone have any idea of how I can continue to synch them with my computer without having to erase them from my phone?

Photos/videos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. This is an import process, not a sync process.
With every other digital camera I've used and imported photos and/or video from, I've always deleted the photos and/or video from the digital camera after the import process is complete.
After doing the same with your iPhone, you can transfer selected photos and video back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process - creating separate albums by month for example for the 1600 photos and videos. Keeping your iPhone's Camera Roll to a minimum will speed up your iPhone's backup process - which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the sync process.
With iPhoto on my Mac when importing photos from my iPhone or from any digital camera, Events are created automatically based on the date the photos were taken. An Event is created for all photos captured on a particular day with an option to split a single Event into multiple Events. I can also create albums for select photos with an option to transfer selected iPhoto albums and/or Events to my iPhone keeping photos organized by Event and/or by Album as I prefer on my computer which is also reflected with the Events and/or Albums I've selected to be transferred to my iPhone.

I am having trouble synching picture to my iPad - getting error msg - required file cannot be found

When trying to synch my photos to my ipad or iphone - I get an error msg that says require file cannot be found.. pls help!!

Some things to try in this order:
1) Make sure you designated the correct folders for music, etc.
2) Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons on the iPad until the Apple Logo appears, about 10 seconds.
3) Make sure all antivirus and firewalls are off.
4) Delete and reinstall itunes. (Back up the itunes folder first.)

Trouble synching new I-phone 4 to Outlook 2007 calendar.

I can synch about everything, except my outlook calendar. Other Outlook elements synch, memo, contacts, etc.

Are you syncing by cable to your computer, or wirelessly to an Exchange server?
If it is to a computer have you set up calendar sync on the Info tab in iTunes when the phone is connected?

8220 flip: trouble synching calendar

Recently received an 8220 Flip as a work phone. Set up the synch and everything but the calendar works fine. The device calendar deletes entries, and then tries to update outlook calendar with the deletions. These are usually in the region of 700 entries (the device tries to delete). I want to keep all old and new entries in both outlook and my device, but the phone appears only to recognise recurring appointments in the calendar. Has anyone seen this type of issue before? I basically want the outlook calendar and device calendar identical, and for each to update with changes to either calendar... none of this business with the phone trying to delete entries. Please help... thanks!

1) In calendar, options, general options what do you have for the option 'Keep Appointments"?
2) In calendar, options are you using a calendar associated with an email address?
If you look at the device default calendar, do you have any records listed?

Trouble synching Calendar on i-Pad

I have found some appointments were missing from my i-Pad calendar. I therfore tried to re-synch it through i-tunes and got the following message.
"iTunes could not synch calendars to the iPad "(its name)" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers"
This is followed by advice to try to re-synch (failed) or to replace the calendars on the IPad from the info tab in the iPad preferences.
My problem is that I cannot find the info tab so cannot replace them!
I am on an I-Pad 1 and am synching to my entourage calender on a Mac operating Snow leopard
Any ideas greatfully received.

If it abends when you try to view March then try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving on the day before.

i have recently bought a 32gb itouch off of my friend, i have synched music from my itunes library fine. However his apple ID keeps popping up on my itouch even though i have already signed in on the app store, also i am unable to sync the apps in my library to the itouch
if anyone has any suggestions on how i can get rid of his apple ID or how i can sync these apps it would be appreciated, thanks

It appears that there are apps on the iPod that were purchased with the account that pops up. Delete those apps. Those are licensed to the person who purchased them and not to you. They do not transfer with the purchase of he iPod.
Are your apps on the computer compatible with the model iPod and iOS on the iPod? Are restrictions invoked (Settings>General>Restrictions) on the iPod that is preventing their syncing? Are the correct boxes checked to sync the apps to the iPod?

Hey, I just got a new macbook pro a few weeks ago and I've just tried to synch my iphone up with itunes like i did with my old laptop but itunes dosn't seem to pick up the device. Just wondering what I can do to try and fix it?

Do you have a backup of your iPhone on your old laptop? If you have or in case you dont need your data and settings on your iPhone so much you can try to reset all the data from your iPhone. Everytime I faced problems like that I've done so and my mac had no problems finding the freshly restored iPhone.
